Freundliches Personal und gutes Essen können wir empfehlen

Sehr gute Hausmannskost. Selbstgemachtes Cordon bleu,Rostbraten, Schnitzel, Pizza, Käsespätzle.... die Karte ist eher klein gehalten. Trotzdem gab es eine Kinderkarte mit ordentlichen Kinderportionen. Die Calamari waren zart, ebenso wie das Fleisch und die Pommes waren lecker, ebenso wie der kleine Salat. Eine kleine Kuchenauswahl und eine Eistruhe gab es auch. Wir kommen wieder!

Essen war okay. Bis auf die "Käsespätzle" die sind nicht zu empfehlen und die Bedienung war etwas schräg drauf.

Wir wurden regelrecht abserviert und darauf hingewiesen, dass wir um 19:15 Uhr zu spät kommen und es kein Essen mehr gibt. Auf unsere Frage hin, wo man denn in der Nähe essen könnte, wurde gesagt „keine Ahnung, nirgendwo“, obwohl direkt gegenüber ein tolle Wirtschaft war, die noch warme Küche hatte und eine nette Bedienung obendrauf.

Kinder sind hier nicht willkommen, obwohl unsere ganz ruhig sitzen geblieben sind Wurden unfreundlich bedient, da vergeht einem auch das essen

Ich verstehe die Negativkommentare absolut nicht. Die Dame, die uns bedient hat, war super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen, besonders die Knödel, waren hervorragend. Und auch das Ambiente...bayrische Gemütlichkeit und Lockerheit, wurde voll getroffen. Da ich selbst in der Gastro arbeite, kann ich mir das Urteil erlauben das hier jeder auf seine Kosten kommt. Ich denke manchmal muss man sich einfach auf die Tradition und Art und Weise des Urlaubsorts einlassen und seine biedere Einstellung zuhause lassen! Vielen Dank für die gute Bewirtung, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir würden für Service und Essen auch 10 ⭐ vergeben. Man merkt, dass die Chefin mit ❤️Blut dabei ist🙏 Ein (oder mehrere) Besuch(e) sind Pflicht 🤗 Negative Rezessionen absolut unverständlich!!!

Was soll ich noch groß sagen es hat alles gepasst. Die Preise sind wirtschaftlich der Zeit angemessen/angepasst. Wer in st Englmar ist kommt hier nicht vorbei. Wir kommen gerne wieder. LG Michael

Man fühlt sich als Gast wirklich willkommen. ​Wer in Sankt Englmar gut essen möchte und Wert auf echte Gastfreundschaft legt, kommt am Kirchawirt nicht vorbei. Wir kommen definitiv wieder! Für die ganze Familie top, allen hat das Essen hervorragend geschmeckt! Ich hatte einen Zander in Rieslingsoße mit Kartoffeln und Salat - hat geschmeckt wie bei Oma, himmlisch:)

Ich war sehr enttäuscht von meinem Besuch. Ich hatte eine Grillplatte mit Rindersteak bestellt, aber das Fleisch war verdorben (es war eindeutig abgelaufen!). Als ich das Personal darauf hingewiesen habe, wurde mein Hinweis nicht ernst genommen – man meinte nur, es sei “alles in Ordnung”, nachdem man es selbst probiert hatte. Als Entschädigung gab es gerade einmal 2 Euro Nachlass. Für mich ein No-Go. Nie wieder!

Wir waren zum Mittagessen und uns hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Sehr kinderfreundlich und freundlicher Kontakt. Wir haben sehr Wohlgefühlt.

The atmosphere was uncomfortable, and the food wasn't good. It's a shame, as the location is actually very nice.

We happened to drive by, but it was closed. There are no opening hours listed, and no other indication of why it was closed. Here on Google, it said it was open. A shame; it's not particularly informative for tourists from outside.

We stumbled upon this inn quite by chance. The service is excellent, the food was quick, and delicious. We all (two adults and two children) enjoyed it immensely. It was also great value for money. We were pleasantly surprised: the children were given a bowl of water and dish soap afterward so they could wash their hands, which they both really enjoyed. If we're ever in St. Englmar again, we'll visit you again :)

The food was abysmal, too expensive for what we got. The schnitzel seemed to have been dipped in the fat twice. There was an unidentifiable sauce floating around the grill. Every half-empty plate was taken away. Pushy, unfriendly. It doesn't deserve a single star.

I don't understand the bad reviews. It's the only restaurant in this dump that's open for lunch!! But...you should know a bit of Russian.

The food (liver sausage and chicken) was good. Spätzle with sauce was a bit greasy. Prices were reasonable. Cash only is a bit outdated these days.

One star is still too many! We've never experienced anything like this before!!! We were expecting a Bavarian restaurant, but were disappointed by the rude and unprofessional behavior. We walked in and it was deserted. The unfriendly waitress showed us a seat. No hello, nothing. The radio was blaring, and when I mentioned it, the waitress only responded with "Why?" Then, after a two-minute wait, the food arrived. The waitress had asked us if the food was tasty. When we politely said that the dumplings weren't tasty, she called the chef, who became loud and aggressive: "Everyone likes it here, except you – then go eat somewhere else!" Card payment wasn't possible (it wasn't noted anywhere), and even though we'd barely touched the food, we were asked to pay the full price. Two hours later, we both feel extremely sick, have severe stomach aches – and looking through the many negative reviews, it's clear that disrespectful service and an aggressive chef have been mentioned several times. Never again! It's really unbelievable how long they can last after all the bad reviews!

Everything tasted great, very cozy restaurant, nice hosts

We arrived just before the kitchen closed, and they kept the kitchen open longer for us. The food was extremely delicious and served super quickly. Highly recommended!

We went there for coffee and had some great cake, very friendly service, great to sit outside

The vegetables were very soft on the outside and still frozen on the inside. Unfortunately, all the sauces were ready-made. The coleslaw had a strangely fishy and sweet taste, so we didn't eat it all. The fries had been in the fryer too long and were very dark. The waitress was friendly at first, but after we gave her some nice, helpful, and positive feedback, she dragged other guests into the mix and almost refused to pay us. We actually just wanted to point out areas for improvement so that the restaurant had a real chance to improve and not just get negative Google reviews. The food was the most expensive, least-served, and worst thing we ate during our short vacation in the Bavarian Forest. The cheese spaetzle was okay and had fresh onions.

The food was delicious. The kids were overjoyed. We felt right at home. Highly recommended.

We spontaneously came with 12 people. Everyone was served a delicious meal at the same time, very friendly. The portion was very generous and it tasted delicious. 😀

Update 05/25: As always, there's a warm welcome for both humans and dogs. It's great to be back. Schnitzel with Bohemian potato salad is a must! Update 05/24: We always love coming back, and rightly so! Update 06/23: Everything was great. Guests with dogs are more than welcome. Schnitzel and rump steak, as always, a dream. Update 2023: We visit St. Englmar several times a year and we always look forward to the Kirchawirt. We always receive a very friendly welcome, and the food is excellent. I love the Bohemian potato salad as a side dish to a good Wiener Schnitzel. Update 01/2021: It's simply wonderful to return somewhere on vacation; you're recognized and given a very friendly welcome again. Plus, the food tastes really good. The landlady and landlord run an inn here, just like you'd hope for in a village in the best sense of the word. Always happy to come back!!! Update 06/2021: We are very happy to have been back. The landlady recognized us immediately and we were greeted with a more than courteous welcome. The food is delicious, freshly prepared, and the seating outside the restaurant is lovely. We'll be back soon for our next short break! 10/2020: Very good food and very friendly service!

A very pretty place inside and out. Were very satisfied, nice service and delicious food. My wife had the salad with the garlic prawns (very fine) and I had the grilled plate. My little son ate with me and we all thought it was great. Meat/sausages well grilled and seasoned, fries crispy and hot and the salad well dressed and fresh. Absolutely recommended!

Worst experience. The lady is very rude, adamant and unfriendly. She suddenly brought a huge bowl of soap water for the kids to wash their hands when we were still eating!! The food was the only saving grace. Will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Edit: after reading other reviews looks like they don’t like children. We were with our kids and experience was very similar to other reviews with kids.

The worst service we have ever experienced. We came with children aged 2,4 and 6. Into the restaurant. We would be welcomed without a word... No hello, nothing, just a nod where we should take a seat. During the meal, a bowl with a lot of pril would be placed at the table. Our children should wash their hands after eating so that they don't get anything greasy. Our children ate with cutlery. And we had to breathe in the smell of Pril while eating. When our littlest stood on the bench with his shoes on (bench without cushions) we were admonished.... No light in the toilet, the schnitzel and fries were full of fat. Man, watch an episode of Rosin and you know what mistakes you're making. Be happy that you don't have to rely on regular guests. The store still annoys me to this day.

We were there with a larger hiking group. I had a beef steak, which tasted very good. My husband ordered chicken breast. His order was forgotten. When the food finally came, he was disappointed to find that a slice of ham had been included in the dish (no mention of this on the menu). He wanted to return the food. The service person's comment that he could scrape off the sausage was very surprising. There is also no effort on the part of the service staff to smooth things over. Therefore only a few stars for service and ambience.

We were with seven people, including children, and were really pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, the service first class. Thank you again!

We had dinner there yesterday...I had a Jägerschnitzel with fries. It was tasty, but I've never had such a thin schnitzel anywhere! I was really surprised. You could have made roulades with this... but offer it as a schnitzel and then it's overpriced, which I think is a bit cheeky. The sauce was very liquid and seasoned with glutamate. Unfortunately I can't recommend it, but everyone should have their own experience. The service was super nice...

We were there on New Year's Eve and were very disappointed. We would have expected a little more ambience for an evening like this. Okay, you can look past it. The service was very nice and helpful. That's the only reason for the third star. The food was carelessly prepared and, in my opinion, the prices were completely excessive for the portion and the ambience. My wife's schnitzel was extremely thin. Like a wafer. Not exactly a hit in terms of taste. The sauce is very thin. My pork tenderloin was somewhat okay. A little tough at times. We definitely won't be coming back. When the bill came, there wasn't even a question about whether it could still be schnapps. We wouldn't have wanted one, but we don't know it any other way. The tip would have been higher. But everyone feels differently. Make your own experiences.

Would also give 10 ⭐ for service and food. You can tell that the boss is there with ❤️blood🙏. Can be recommended without reservation🤗.

Despite a reservation, we weren't expected and they said we had canceled the table The lights from the neighboring tables were switched off in the restaurant, even though we were still sitting there We could only order 1 schnitzel with mushrooms because there was no sauce left for the 2 plates. I've never experienced anything like that in my life.

We took a coffee break there on the motorbike on the way to the Czech Republic... it's worth it

Sunday evening, 6:50 p.m. (open until 8 p.m. according to opening times) no restaurant is open far and wide, we with a 2 year old child want dinner and are rudely turned away because everything is already closed. When asked if they had at least one more fries for the little one, the answer was “no”. However, there was still a knock in the kitchen... it's never happened to me before that you're turned away in a restaurant. We were then allowed to drive 30 minutes to the next restaurant that was still open. NO GO!!

....there were 4 of us with a child on pre-order. We ordered 2 x steak, 1 zander fillet with light sauce and a knuckle. What then came to the table was pure disappointment. Zander minimalist, sauce tasteless. The steaks were tough and tasteless. My coveted knuckle was absolutely dry and almost impossible to cut with a knife, so it was fried some day before. The food did not show that it was professionally prepared. With 4 drinks we paid over €110. We got to know this restaurant about 15 years ago and loved it back then. This time it was our last visit, never again...

I can't judge food, they're only for drinking. Very unfriendly and unwelcome service, especially our son. Children very undesirable.

Steaks, beef and pork with blue cheese are perfectly cooked with self made chili sauce. An absolute great spot to satisfy the appetite!

We cannot judge food. We wanted to eat there with a child, we just sat down and got our bearings and there was a bit of babbling, then I asked politely: what's up, which was followed by a snotty "shoes"! Yes, I understand that a child should keep their feet under the table, but they are children, if the table is too far away, then that's a child doing that and it wouldn't have been a problem if the annoyed lady had said it politely would have! We didn't even have time to tell our child this or take off their shoes! You would have expected a little more friendliness!

We ordered 2 curry sausages with fries for my daughter, grandson and I. The sausage only had a few Curry particles dusted. The sauce was a tomato sauce also sprinkled with a little curry. There were also only a few fries Plates and they didn't taste particularly fresh. So currywurst without curry sauce and that Fries not particularly fresh! That is not how it works! And something like that costs 17.20. Never again!!!

I have been coming to Sankt Englmar for a very long time and am particularly pleased that such a committed couple runs the Kirchawirt. I happened to pass by yesterday and saw that Tafelspitz was on the memory card, my favorite dish :). So I went in and I was immediately greeted with friendliness in person to place me in the most friendly way possible. Within a very short time the food was served to me, hot, plentiful and of a taste that was second to none. In short, absolutely recommended. Today after a motorcycle tour I couldn't help myself and visited the Kirchawirt again to taste my favorite dish again. Again I wasn't disappointed, everything was just like the day before. Keep it up, I'll be back. A little food for thought: as it calls into the forest, it comes back. Enter the Kirchawirt with a smile and not only one thing will come back. Kind regards, Henri

I don't know what is meant by hospitality here. If you walk into a restaurant around 8 p.m. and are told you should go somewhere else because you finish work at 9 p.m., something is going wrong. Also in a very unfriendly tone. By the way, this was our second very negative experience at this company. In an area where there are many very good restaurants, you should try to attract customers. Significantly, the Kirchawirt is avoided by the locals. I recommend the sunny hill, 5 minutes away

Service was in a bad mood and was overwhelmed despite the few guests. Food with ready-made sauces, fries tasted like old fat, no vegetables and no children's menu. There was no light in the toilet in the basement. Only cash payment possible.

We felt very comfortable and were well served. The menu is small but everything is freshly prepared. We ate different dishes and they were all very tasty. For the children (schnitzel experts) it was the best schnitzel in the area. We recommend.

My sister, I and our dog were guests at the Kirchawirt for the first time yesterday. He deserves the highest points in all areas. The guest rooms are very comfortable, our fish dish was delicious and the service was extremely attentive and friendly! Incidentally, there was also a family with several small children in the restaurant who were also served very friendly. How there are so many negative reviews in this and other directions is absolutely incomprehensible to us. We'll be back!! For reasons I don't know, my recession was... I have submitted it for a long time and have only published it now. We are now regular, satisfied guests.

We wanted to eat something, but the service was so unfriendly that after a few minutes we decided that we would rather leave the place immediately. The atmosphere was very bad and we had the feeling that we were being gossiped about the whole time.

Wir waren heute zum Mittagessen im Kirchawirt und hatten das Wildgulasch und den Fitnesssalat. Beides hat uns ausgesprochen gut geschmeckt! Die Gerichte waren perfekt gewürzt und die Bedienung wirklich sehr freundlich. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Wir haben bereits zwei Mal im Abstand von ein paar Monaten versucht, beim Kirchawirt zu essen. Das Lokal war jeweils im Prinzip komplett leer, aber als das Personal gesehen hat, dass wir vier Kinder dabei haben, wurde uns gesagt, es gäbe keinen Platz für uns. Das lässt schon tief blicken.

Sind spontan zum Essen dort gewesen. Wir haben das Holzfällersteak mit Fritten und Salatbeilage bestellt. Es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt, es war richtig lecker. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, auch zu unserem Hund :) Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Die Käsespätzle sind echt nicht gut. Sie schwimmen in einer Sauce und die Zwiebeln sind halb roh. Dafür mit 14€ super teuer. Die Currywurst hat eine sehr cremige Konsistenz, ziemlich seltsam und die Pommes sehen zwar gebräunt und knusprig aus, sind aber labbrig und fettig. Und das alles für viel zu viel Geld. Aber immerhin der Service war super und sehr freundlich.

Sankt Englmar ist eine Reise wert.
