Waren im Urlaub 2x dort, der erste Besuch hat uns überzeugt. Sehr leckeres Essen, freundlicher Service und Preis-Leistung absolut ok. Hatten Glück und ohne Reservierung einen Platz bekommen. Könnte zur Hauptsaison aber schwierig werden.

Waren Vatertag essen! Urig eingerichtetes Wirtshaus , Super Essen, Service auch Top. Jederzeit wieder !

Wir waren ca. Um 15.00 Uhr dort. Die Bedienung war sehr flott und freundlich. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist gut. Die Preise sind für eine Touri-Region absolut in Ordnung. Es gibt Hochstühle für Kleinkinder. Das Essen hat sehr lecker geschmeckt und die Portionen waren sättigend. Zu empfehlen sind die Käsespätzle.

Wir sind im Ort in einer Ferienwohnung und waren gestern Abend zum Essen da. Jedes Gericht das wir bestellt hatten, war klasse und auch die Teller auf den Nachbartischen sahen ausnahmslos sehr lecker aus. Die Portionen waren mehr als ausreichend und das Ambiente Holzhütten-Flair mit gemütlicher Holzofenwärme war wirklich super.

Einfach alles top. Super leckeres Essen, tolle Atmosphäre und super nette Bedienungen.

Wir waren zum Weihnachtsessen (26.12.25) dort, habe vorher auch einen Tisch reserviert. Ganz wichtig, es war voll, alle Tische waren besetzt. Das Essen super lecker und recht große Portion. Nettes aufmerksames Personal und sehr schnell. Gepflegtes rustikales Ambiente. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Sind noch im Winterschlaf seit 29.11.-20.12 geschlossen... Gasthaus SONNENHÜGEL nur 5 min mit Auto entfernt Bergab hat super Essen und Lecker alkoholfreies Weiß Bier 🍻 da wird man statt🍽️🍽️🍝🍄‍🟫🥸

Sehr rustikales Gasthaus. Das Essen war gut aber eher recht einfach gehalten, dafür preislich zu ambitioniert.

I was here for dinner and ordered a roast beef with onions and fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were really good, crispy, and delicious. Unfortunately, the meat I ordered medium was much too well done and therefore quite tough. That was a shame, as I had hoped for more from the roast beef. Perhaps the chef was just having a bad day. The service, however, was attentive and friendly. Overall, a mixed impression: good side dishes and service, but there's still room for improvement with the roast beef.

We had a delicious meal and were comfortable. The service was very attentive, and the kitchen even prepared extra spaetzle for us at the last minute. Thank you again! The fillet pan with mushrooms and spaetzle baked was a hit! I've rarely had such delicious spaetzle with sauce. Unfortunately, we were too late for dessert. Reservations are required. We'd love to go back!

A wonderful, quaint restaurant with superb food and very friendly staff. However, you should reserve a table just to be on the safe side.

We went there as a family and can recommend it. The menu is small, but the food is delicious. Special requests require payment; it's somewhat surprising that they don't accept card payments. The service is friendly and prompt, and there are plenty of tables. The kitchen is open until 8:30 p.m.

We wanted to eat there or takeaway food at 7:30 p.m. on Monday during the Whitsun holidays. Despite the large number of guests, there were still free tables. At first, we were completely ignored, then we were asked what we wanted. We were refused food in the restaurant and food to takeaway. They can't keep up with the food supply.

We stopped by here during a stopover and were immediately seated outside. The waitress was quick to take our order, and our drinks arrived promptly. The fitness salad with chicken strips had a delicious dressing, the meat was juicy, and the portion was generous. My son was very happy with the kids' schnitzel and fries. For dessert, we had a latte and cake. The cakes are incredibly delicious, and the selection is fantastic! We'd be happy to come back.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing in every respect. Upon arrival, we received a cold and unfriendly welcome – no trace of hospitality. The food was a disgrace: uncaring, poor quality, and inedible. My children and I felt sick afterward and were vomiting for two days. The hostess's behavior was consistently rude, dismissive, and in several situations downright disrespectful. Overall, an atmosphere that no one would want to subject anyone to. I'd gladly send the Food Safety Authority to the association. Conclusion: Never again. Absolutely not recommended.

A very "rustic" restaurant with very friendly service. This was our saving grace after the Predigtstuhl Resort next door only served soup for lunch. But this way, we were able to enjoy the delicious food there at a very affordable price, especially for a family of four. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in Sankt Englmar.

We came here for dinner. The restaurant has a very quaint decor. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The value for money is excellent.

The food here is delicious. The roast beef with onions and the red wine sauce are truly delicious. The prices are a bit more expensive here, but the portions are also large. We sat outside in front of the entrance, and the view was fine. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

The atmosphere is relatively nice, we didn't have time to eat there and got the tuna pizza for €12.90. It was really very small (see picture). The taste was also not commensurate with the price. Maybe the strengths lie with the other dishes, but I really can't recommend the pizza. Furthermore, you can only pay in cash. It's written everywhere, but we think it's left a bit behind.

The inn is well attended - a reservation is therefore definitely recommended. The selection of food is fine, there is something to suit most tastes. Unfortunately, our first impression was a bit clouded because an employee simply walked away while we were ordering. In general, the service staff seemed overwhelmed at lunchtime, which was also noticeable in the process. In the evening, however, with prior reservations, the atmosphere was much more relaxed and the service was better organized. All in all, a solid visit with room for improvement in the lunch service.

We spend our vacation here at least twice a year and always look forward to this restaurant - our first port of call. The food is excellent, the staff is always friendly and the ambience is simply perfect. A visit is definitely worth it!

An extremely cozy and lovingly furnished restaurant - exactly how you want it. Rustic ambience meets warm service. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The prices were also absolutely fair, especially considering what was on offer. The portions were generous and the food was simply first class. The cheese spaetzle are particularly recommended: homemade and a real highlight in terms of taste - you can just taste it.

Unfortunately that was a failure. We ordered a margarita with onions and a baked potato - and were bitterly disappointed. The potato was tiny, the pizza had virtually no cheese, but had an absurd amount of onions. The bottom was so thin you could barely see it, and there was a big hole in the middle that was easily filled with onions. The price was okay at €10 per dish, but even as a gift it wouldn't have been enjoyable. At the next table a pizza was served that was twice as big and three times as thick - that says it all. Whatever was going on in the kitchen, it was definitely not going well. We paid, didn't complain, and then went home to make ourselves a proper lunch.

If the locals meet there, it will be good, I thought. And that's exactly how it was. Top food. Served quickly and friendly and reasonably priced. Absolute recommendation.

A great spot for a beer and a bit of food!

We had pizza salami and margarita. These were very oily and the tomato sauce tasted slightly sweet. The meat from the Wiener Schnitzel tasted like frozen food and some of the fries were too hard. No card payment possible. The positive thing is that the restaurant doesn't have a lunch break, which is the case with many other restaurants.

It's a shame, we wanted to get food to take away. At first it was said that it was possible, then when I wanted to order a Z-schnitzel, the boss probably told me that he couldn't sell any more food for today... very strange. No apology or anything like that. But yes, with so little attention towards other population groups and the ridiculous clinging to outdated names... it was probably better that we DIDN'T leave our money there. Oh yes. There is no EC card payment there either.

We ate there several times during our stay in St Englmar. The menu is small but every dish is great. In addition, dishes are changed week after week. We never once had a dish that wasn't tasty. When I read some of the reviews here I really have to ask myself where these people went to eat, but probably not here!! But like everywhere else, you have to vent your personal frustration anonymously on the internet... 🙈 🙄🥴🫣... We recommend everyone who is in the area to stop by. Take cash with you, EC device available on site of course... Unfortunately there is no accessibility. Staff always tried hard and friendly!! No matter how much stress you have. Children are always welcome here too!

Food could be better. Fries not good, croquettes boring and the fried potatoes cannot be praised as good either. So very bad price/performance ratio.

I can't confirm the negative reviews here. I had dinner here with my family. It was really tasty and the portions were good. The service and the two ladies were nice and we were served quickly. In my opinion, the atmosphere is typically Bavarian rustic and therefore cozy. We'll be back.

Went there spontaneously for lunch. We were very positively surprised, service was very attentive and quick. I had venison steak, which was really excellently prepared and buttery soft (medium rare). The other dishes were also very good and the portions were generous 😊 We'd love to come back!

A nice, rustic atmosphere. You receive a warm welcome and the service is friendly and attentive. The food is fresh and simply delicious – exactly as you would expect. In summer, the large beer garden outside invites you to spend time there and enjoy the atmosphere. A restaurant that is a pleasure to stop by and that we can warmly recommend to both holidaymakers and locals.

Very old atmosphere. very tasteless food. You couldn't order a children's portion of the cheese spaetzle, so we should have been suspicious. Then we stayed. We then ordered 2 more bread dumplings with champions and 2 pizzas. Food is not recommended!!!

We ordered three meals. The frozen pizza salami was “unfortunately” already sold out. The remaining food was warmed up and prepared well by the chef.

The staff tried very hard, unfortunately the Reiberdatschi were frozen food and the pizza salami was oozing with fat. EC card payment is not possible here either. It's a shame, generally not recommended

Salad drowned in balsamic vinegar, simply not edible for people who don't eat balsamic vinegar. Unfortunately the foil potato was ruined by small pieces of chicken floating in breading... yuck. Schnitzel and fries ok. But the fact that a meal was completely inedible was simply too expensive.

It was just wonderful. The food was great, even the children's fries tasted great. Had dinner there last night and lived right across the street! We had the duck fries with schnitzel & the sauerbraten. We will definitely come back. And recommend you to everyone.
