The food is the worst one ever in Freiburg, More over you have to face the unfriendly workers. The person at the front is real tough guy. Order chicken biriyani. You will get Aldi's frozen Friedrich with some chicken. Better buy from aldi than paying for rudeness and tastelessness.

Am Freitag war das Essen sehr lecker und wurde nach einer angemessenen Zeit serviert. Und dann auch restlos gegessen, wie das leere Geschirr zeigt 😉😂 Samstag sind wir wieder hin, weil es uns am Freitag so gut gefallen hat. Gemütliches Ambiente und freundliche Bedienungen. Sehr lecker war es auch am Samstag, aber nach 1,5 Stunden Wartezeit musste das auch irgendwie sein als Belohnung.... Dafür hatte ich dann Zeit für ZWEI Mango-Lassi 😋😋😋 Ein Stern Abzug für diese lange Wartezeit. In der Karte steht ja, dass die frische Zubereitung etwas länger dauert als in einem To-go-Restaurant, aber soooo lange hatten wir das nach der guten Erfahrung nicht erwartet. Aber wir waren noch gut dran. Die Familie am Nachbartisch wartete 2 Stunden 🙈🤷‍♀️

One of the best Indian restaurants in the Freiburg region. The food was great and the service as well! Some dishes as the Tikka Massala require more spices and better preparation, but this is maybe my opinion as I have tasted better in Brussels. I definitely recommend it!

Viele Gerichte aus der Speisekarte waren gar nicht bestellbar( Anscheinend irgendein Küchengerät kaputt) Lange Wartezeit auf das Essen obwohl gar nix los war. Essen konnte man das schon, aber ich muss da nicht nochmal hin.

Gutes Buffet und nette Bedienung!

Prices are higher than other Indian restaurants. I ordered Veg.Thali. It had chhole masala, palak paneer and malai kofta, along with raita, salad, roti, rice and little portion of kheer. Looks very appealing and smells good. Taste wise it was just okay. Paneer was hard and spinach not blended. Malai kofta was the only authentic and yummy dish. Service was very good and host friendly.

As an Indian myself, I highly recommend this restaurant. I don’t understand the negative reviews, as I had a lovely experience there. The food is lovely and the host is extremely friendly. I definitely recommend!

Habe gestern seit längerer Zeit mal wieder indisch gegessen. Beim Anruf sagte man mir dass es jetzt wegen Corona auch einen Lieferservice gibt. Es gibt wohl wegen Corona gerade nicht immer alles was ich von früheren Besuchen im Restaurant kannte... trotzdem - das VEG curry und das King Chicken das wir diesmal hatten war aber auch sehr gut. Die Lieferzeit auch noch ziemlich schnell dafuer dass ich etwas weiter weg wohne. Hoffentlich ist corona bald vorbei ... immer nur zuhause essen geht einem langsam auf den Senkel.

Wir waren wahrscheinlich zur falschen Zeit am falschen Ort. Die einzigen Gäste im Restaurant und haben ewig auf das Essen gewartet, das dann weder wie angekündigt scharf war, noch irgendwie schmackhaft. Wir kommen sicher nicht wieder. 2 Sterne nur, weil ich wenigstens satt geworden bin...

Leider stimmen die schlechten Bewertungen, mit indischem Essen hat dies wenig gemein, dabei bevorzugen wir immer den Geschmack indischer Küche!

Freundliches Personal, wunderschönes Ambiente, unschlagbares Essen - als würde man eine Kurzreise nach Indien machen- mitten in Freiburg. Gehe jedes Mal da Essen wenn ich in Freiburg bin.

I have been to almost all the Indian restaurant in Freiburg, Karma surely is one of the best so far. In abroad it is really hard to find authentic indian taste but trust me, this restaurant wont disappoint you. #MustVisit.

Wir sind schon oft hier essen gegangen- weil wir insbesondere mit den Speisen immer sehr zufrieden waren. Der Service ist leider tatsächlich gewöhnungsbedürftig- oft überfordert, man wartet teilweise recht lange und die Kommunikation ist schwierig, weil die Angestellten frisch aus den indischen Raum zu kommen scheinen...es ist ein bisschen, als wär man in Indien selber😉.

Service schockierend daneben Leider keine gute Erfahrung. Da wir nicjt sofort essen und Getränke bestellten, wurden wir im Anschluss an die Getränke erstmal eine gute halbe Stunde ignoriert. Wohlgemerkt, wir hatten einen Platz direkt an der Theke. Das wir nach ein paar versuchen der Kontaktaufnahme dann die Lust verloren hatten und zahlen wollte wurde ohne weiteres hingenommen. Soweit ok... Leider hatte die junge Frau welche in die unglückliche Situation geschickt wurdenkein passendes Wechselgeld so dass quasi ein Trinkgeld vorausgesetzt wurde! Vielleicht haben wir einen unglücklichen Abend erwischt o.ä Dennoch ist das ein Umgang mit Gästen welchen ich als nicht akzeptabel erachte.

An sich ganz gemütliche Lokalität. Leider haben die wirklich sehr lange Wartezeit (1h+), dann das falsch gelieferte essen und auch der Geschmack des Essens die Stimmung getrübt. Das Personal jedoch ist freundlich und stets bemüht.

たまに本当に不味いレストランってありますが、ここは正にそういうレストランでした。お昼のブッフェを食べに行きました。 ブッ フェとうたっているのに、カレーはたったの二種類でした。 ですがもっと驚いたのは、開始時刻直後に訪問したにも関わらず、このブッフェは一体いつ用意したの？と言いたくなるような見た目でした。カレーはあきらかに熱しすぎで水分が蒸発しきっている状態でしたし、ご飯は乾燥？し始めていました。 言うまでもなく美味しくなかったですし、間違いなくお金を払って食べる食事ではなかったです。二度と利用しません。

ich wollte mit meiner Freundin einen schönen Abend haben und gingen zum Essen dort hin.Leider blieb es dabei das wir nur einen Tisch zugewiesen bekamen.Nach längerer Beobachtung stellten wir fest das das Personal wichtigere Dinge zu tun hatte als sich um die Gäste zu kümmern.Als wir dann entschlossen haben das Restaurant zu verlassen erinnerte man sich an uns.Liebe Gastronomen oder was auch immer ihr darstellt.Ich habe hunderte von Restaurants und ich brauche euch nicht da ich überall essen kann nur mit Sicherheit nicht bei euch.Weiterhin viel Erfolg

Ganz ehrlich: Ich bin total überrascht über die vielen negativen Bewertungen! Wir kommen seit Jahren unheimlich gerne ins Karma und hatten noch nie eine negative Erfahrung - das Essen immer lecker und gut gewürzt, der Service super und total freundlich, immer mit einem Lächeln im Gesicht, das Ambiente sehr gemütlich (Licht und Einrichtung) und die Toiletten sauber. Die Preise sind normale Durchschittspreise und vollkommen angemessen. Auf jeden Fall eine fette Empfehlung.

Essen gut aber keine Wiederholungsgefahr Grill leider kaputt an unserem Tag, Bedienung etwas unbeholfen vermutlich neu. Tisch war nicht abgeräumt obwohl kaum was los war.

Wir waren am Samstag in diesem Restaurant zu sechst gegen frühen Nachmittag da. Es war nicht viel los jedoch mussten wir ca. 1 Stunde auf unsere Vorspeise warten, die Bedingungen waren unorganisiert und langsam. Die Samosas waren etwas zu fettig für unseren Gechmack und das Hauptessen sehr fad, den Kick aus der indischen Küche sucht man hier vergebens. Zum nachwürzen steht auf den Tischen nichts. Das Essen für 6 Personen kamm erst weit nach einer Stunde und auch nicht zusammen. Bei der letzten Platte war auch ein Käfer dabei. Die Bedingung ging darauf nicht ein. Beim Bezahlen war sie dann auch unvorbereitet, hatte kein Wechselgeld dabei, hatte wahrscheinlich Trinkgeld erwartet, bei dem Service eigentlich eine Frechheit. Wir lieben indisches Essen und das war der bei weitem schlechteste Inder bei dem wir waren nie wieder.

Wir waren heute zum Mittag im Karma Indian Palace. Leider waren wir sehr enttäuscht - die Bedienung kam zwar sofort zu ins, teilte uns jedoch mit es gäbe lediglich das All you can eat Buffet (je 8,90€ pro Person), da die Kollegin (Köchin? Kellnerin?) Nicht da sei. Also gut, eben Buffet. Allerdings ist die Auswahl nicht sonderlich groß (Reis, Nudeln, 2 vegetarische Gerichte und 2 mit Fleisch, jedoch alles nicht sehr schmackhaft, da kaum gewürzt) , das Essen war nur lauwarm. Die Salatbar besteht aus Eisbergsalat, TomatenGurken und Rotkraut aus dem Glas, sowie Ketchup und Mayo. Nach Getränken wurden wir erst gefragt, als alle fertig mit dem Essen waren. Ich rate vom Besuch des Restaurants ab, für knapp 9€ pro Person kann man in wesentlich besser essen.

Das Nan war lecker, die Gerichte auch. Einer von uns bekam allerdings anstatt Hünchenfleisch Klöschen, die dennoch lecker waren. Die Wartezeit war völlig in Ordnung und die Servicekraft war aufmerksam. Etwas gestört hat allerdings, dass sie den Tisch schon abgeräumt hat, obwohl noch nicht alle fertig gegessen hatten.

En préambule, je tiens à signaler que je connais bien et affectionne particulièrement la cuisine indienne, celle qui nous donne envie de la découvrir, Simplement... après un service long , nous découvrons des plats insipides sans saveur particulière, avec des épices à peine présent et des sauces similaires d'un plat à l'autre, des samossas servis avec un salade & mais en boite et de la vinaigrette au litre de chez METRO ( grossiste pour CHR...).Riz mal cuit, ce qui est pourtant la base de cette cuisine ..Je suis stupéfaits que les avis restent positifs sur ce restaurant sans intérêt pour les connaisseurs de cuisine du monde. A éviter,... je suis désolé

Ich habe von der Mittags Karte gegessen und wurde sehr enttäuscht, da das Fleisch sehr trocken war, d.h. Es war augenscheinlich nicht frisch zubereitet sondern aufgewärmt. Nie wieder, da ich am Abend dann auch noch arge Margenprobleme, d.h. Mein Stuhlgang war total wässrig. Normalerweise habe ich keinen empfindlichen Magen, d.h.ich vertrage auch orientalische Gewürze und scharfes Essen.

Der "italienischer teil" des Karma ist -sorry- Grottenschlecht Der Service passt,aber dir Currywurst ist ein wienerle und das geht nicht

Von aussen sieht das gut aus. Von innen nicht so, unsere Bedienung könnte die Bestellung nur mit Nummern aufnehmen, weil ihr z.b. Gin Tonic kein Begriff war. Der Service war langsam und unaufmerksam. Lange Wartezeit wegen externem lieferservice, der zuvor bearbeitet wurde. Geschmacklich gibt es auch Besseres. Der Salat war nicht so gut: Eissalat und Karotten mit dicker weisser Sosse. Die Currys waren ok aber sehr ähnlich. Nach unseren Beschwerden war man sehr bemüht, das hätte lieber gleich passieren sollen.

Suppen waren zu scharf und total versalzen. Hauptgerichte mit Fleisch waren ebenfalls versalzen, sollten unterschiedlich sein, schwammen aber in ein und derselben Sauce. Keine Empfehlung. 2 Sterne weil die Bedienung sehr bemüht war.

Ich war zu Gast in Freiburg, bin zufällig hier gelandet (Innenstadt, Buffet für €10,9), und habe es bitter bereut. Ich liebe indisches Essen aber das, was man hier geboten bekommt, hat mit indischem Essen nicht allzu viel zu tun. Die Auswahl am Buffet ist sehr überischtlich, das Essen war einfach geschmacklos. Lediglich eine separat gereichte Soße, als "extra scharf" gekennzeichnet, hat zu leichter Reaktion auf der Zunge geführt. Der Service ist sehr unaufmerksam und kratzt lieber auf dem Handy herum als den Kunden zu fragen, ob ihm zu seinem Wohl etwas fehlt.

Yesterday we had been to this place. The chicken tandoori had liquid blood inside. At least for us, this was the first time we saw blood in the food. The chef argued that this is normal and insisted that we re order the same dish. We are no expert on this topic. But definitely blood in food is not normal to us. so we decided not to reorder this dish and were left with no option but to pay for this.

Honnestly we had a very very good day before we arrived at this restaurant so we were in a really good mood ... but they disappointed us sooooo much that I need to let the world know about that. I usually search for good restaurants on TripAdvisor ... we almost went to the #1 restaurant in Freiburg tonight which is a Mexican restaurant but last minute we changed our plans and went to this restaurant... a really bad idea - Ordered chicken legs in tikka massala sauce... received chicken breast instead - Lady implied that it was the correct meal - Lady started to read back the menu like if she would find that she was right ?!?! - At the end she answered « we do do not have chicken legs in our restaurant » .... while it is clearly listed in their menu (minimum twice) - She wanted us to pay for it first and when she saw that it would not be possible (I had to get angry for this)... - After this problem she « disappeared... » and sent the other waitress (the younger) to serve our table... I tried to confirm my suspicions so I went to her with our empty bottle of water and kindly asked « could we please get another bottle of water please? ». She answered yes and sent the other waitress with our water... so at the end I asked the younger waitress « could we please get the bill ? ».......... guess who arrived 1 minute later ??? Lol - Garlic naan had garlic taste but nearly zero garlic on it ... wondering the trick here .... - Vegetable samosa are composed of 95% of potato ... over cooked is a weak term for this... - When I asked her « do you know about TripAdvisor ? » she must be thinking about a vegetable or a dish name because she answered « sorry sir we do not have this here » !!!!!????? (I am laughing again while thinking about it) - Food quality was really really lower than low ... tasteless for 90% of it ... I love Indian food since over 25 years now but this is probably the worst experience in an Indian restaurant in my life .... A place to avoid in my opinion ... and now that I just check their « TripAdvisor profile » I feel much better in a way because I see all those « horrible » comments from other customers so it confirm to me that the problem was not on our side ...

The curry tasted like cheap sauce from jar and was starting to ferment. That is truly rude to serve it in restaurant and ask such a price for it!

It was a terrible dinner and an absolute waste of money. The paneer was rock hard, the rotis were pathetic, garlic man had no garlic in it and the nans were unbelievably fat. The soup was cold, they had no pickle or Papad, being an Indian restaurant, it is a must. I would never visit this place to save my life.

Dropped in on the off chance of getting a table. They were quite busy but managed to find us a good table. Mostly couples were in there, so each order was relatively small, which meant that each dish was able to be cooked individually to each person’s specifications. My husband wanted his curry hotter than mine - no problem. Staff were friendly and efficient, even taking into account our limited German. Worth a visit

Food tasted mediocre (awful compared to Indian restaurants in London), don't take cards under 20 Euro and there's lots of flies, some of which ended up in my drink. All in all a rubbish experience.

After being in Germany for a 5 days it was nice to discover an Indian restaurant. In the small town of Freiburg we were walking around looking for something different to eat and it was an hour when most of the restaurants had shut down for the day. Thats when we discovered this restaurant Karma. We had a lovely wholesome Indian meal. The food was good and filling.

I like the buffet lunch. Not very expensive. Different Indian dishes, not very spicy. Good for a change.

We were on the lookout for some Indian restaurants when we came across this one, it is located beautifully and location itself is one of the usp. We ordered vegetarian cuisine and even though not the best Indian food I have had in Germany, some of their dishes were too good. They have a nice "eat all you can" buffet for 8 euros (as on July, 2017) where you have 2 curries, rice, dal and salad. The staff is from Punjab, many of them, so it makes sense to order something like Chhole-Bhature (we were served delicious ones)! What made our meal special was that the guys stayed until very late for us so that we could complete our meal without hurrying.

The Brunch choice was decent enough, especially the tiramisu. Price was reasonable for eat as much as you want buffet. Staff were concerned I hadn't eaten enough, so gave me a box to take some away with me.

Well the food here took me back about 15 years when I had to put up with "balti" cuisine in North Yorkshire . Ambience was nice , service was slow but since there was a smile and nature to accommodate all our requests.. That more than made up for it Half of our party was vegetarian. To be fair they did agree to make our food as per our specs!( no onion no garlic etc) But , that said the food itself was a let down.... At least for an indian palate. I think the chef needs some working on. Paneer dish was watery and ... Sweet, paneer itself was firm/non tender. Chicken tikka came as a sizzler and was bland. Dal makhani was the saving grace I thought a lot before rating this place. Was tempted to put in 3 stars and call it average. But ... The crux of the restaurant is the kitchen. Here the kitchen disappointed badly. While the rest of the folks were clued on to their job, I think someone needs to have a chat with the chef. I didn't . Hoping this positive criticism is taken in the right spirit

Could run out of adjectives to describe how unsatisfactory the food was. Absolutely no resemblance to what Indian food should be. The staff is helpful but there is no way that can make up for the inadequacy of the Chef. Never again.

For Indian food this was very bland. My main course was supposed to be a mixed grill, although everything looked slightly different it all tasted the same... bland. Also the onion bhajis were actuall onion rings.
