Jostalstüble in Titisee-Neustadt

So, the area isn't exactly great; you really have to go somewhere else. Up here, it's a real dead zone for cell service; without the Wi-Fi from the restaurant, you're completely lost. The GPS navigation only works to a limited extent if you're using Office mode or maps. The rooms (ours, at least) are nice and clean. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, though sometimes a bit cozy. We were constantly asked which room we were in (we stayed for a week), and it wasn't that busy. The mattresses were very hard for us (others might like that), but not so much for us. ;) The food was alright. The selection at dinner was quite limited; there was also a buffet. Yeah. What was really good was the warming room with free coffee. They even remembered my wife's birthday and decorated the table a bit. 🥂🥳 That was very nice. What I did notice was that around 10 p.m., there was a lot of noise upstairs. Banging and crashing. No idea what those people were doing. :) The restaurant itself was cozy. Unfortunately, the majority of the guests were unruly. No "good morning" or "good evening." A shame, because the staff were the complete opposite 😀. Since we like to go for a walk after dinner, that was very difficult up here because there was no light, no lanterns, etc. Yes, I think we'll go somewhere else next year.

We stayed at the Jostalstüble for two nights. We really enjoyed the hotel; it was a bit dated and had been spruced up with decorative touches, even in the room. It was quiet, and the view from the balcony was lovely. We had excellent meals there both evenings, both from the à la carte menu and the buffet. The staff were consistently friendly. We'd love to go back!

Great inn along the route... We had a delicious meal here and were able to stay overnight with our camper. Many thanks to the team for the great end to our trip! We quickly enjoyed the breakfast buffet and, because it was so nice in the evening, we also enjoyed it the next morning. A wonderful stay!

A bit dated but friendly people

We stopped here as usual on vacation. Unfortunately, the food wasn't nearly as good as it has been in recent years. What a shame! The service was attentive and friendly. The dessert was good.

We stayed here for one night with half board. The room with the balcony was great. The standard room was perfectly adequate. The food was okay, but not outstanding. What's not acceptable are the dried flowers hanging everywhere. Breakfast was excellent.

We spent almost two weeks at this beautiful hotel. The entire team, from housekeeping and service to the kitchen, exudes a family atmosphere, is always helpful with questions, and special requests regarding the menu (unfortunately, we have allergies to various ingredients) were perfectly accommodated. Before our arrival, we had two pleasant phone calls because we had to move our room from the second to the first floor due to a walking disability. This (a major problem for us) was also arranged within a few minutes. The rooms are very comfortably furnished. The view from our balcony of the meadows and forest is a dream for unwinding. Even in bad weather, which isn't anyone's fault, it's nice to sit on the balcony with a cup of coffee from the stove. Dogs are definitely welcome here too. We also loved the daily morning post with suggestions for various excursions and activities for the day. We would love to come back. Your two Vogtlander and Border Collie, Susi

Before my husband died, we spent several holidays there. It was always wonderful, and we were in good hands! Everything was perfect!

The restaurant, location, and ambiance are all great! But: On a Saturday, I ordered lunch alone for €20. Two meatballs (minced steak) with mushroom cream sauce, buttered spaetzle, and salad from the buffet. Plus spring water… Great and very tasty. So, the next day, I went back with my wife and ordered the same thing: “You absolutely have to try it…” Two plates with one meatball each and the same bowl of spaetzle to share… > €40. When we asked, we were told they were out of meatballs! We've never laughed so much! Unbelievable and truly a shame… Back home, at least the owner expressed his incomprehension over the phone and expressed his sincere regret.

I don't think the waiter's attitude on the terrace is correct. He's laughing at the customer.

I can only comment on the terrace service, but Spanish sailors, beware. If you want an iced coffee, order the coffee first and then the ice separately. Because if you order an iced coffee, they'll bring you what you see in the photo. And that's despite my friend explaining in detail what we wanted, not once but twice. Even so, the response—with a sarcastic smile—"in Germany, iced coffee is like this." Judging by the waiter's smile and expression, I felt like I was being ripped off for four times as much. Which, by the way, wasn't cheap.

If you want to be taken for a ride and charged 7.5 euros, go to the terrace and have an iced coffee. He'll bring you a coffee with ice cream, even though you've explained it to him twice in English. According to him, iced coffee means ice cream in German. Don't stop if you're not a native. He doesn't see the point.

We've eaten there several times and always find it good. It's a great restaurant, beautifully located, with great service, very tasty and fresh food, and there's also a nice children's menu and a small outdoor playground.

We spent a few wonderful days here. The room is beautifully decorated. The bathroom is a bit older, but everything works and is very clean. The service is excellent. The breakfast, with butcher's sausage and fresh regional bread, is of the highest quality. The a la carte dinner and the buffet leave nothing to be desired. The children were rarely so satisfied after a meal. As a topping after a long day of hiking, we enjoyed a sauna session. We were very satisfied and will definitely return.

The hotel is located in the heart of the countryside, so there's plenty of greenery and every now and then a hint of a farmhouse scent wafts past. It's close to Lake Titisee, Triberg, and Freiburg. The rooms are quite spacious with a lovely balcony, perfect for relaxing. However, our room faced the street, which can cause traffic noise. The rooms are also a bit noisy. We had a family room next door, and as a result, we were occasionally woken by children's noises. The shower is very small and outdated. But it's wonderful to shower in the shower... the water stays at a wonderful temperature and has a powerful stream. The beds are definitely in need of replacement... they creak with every movement. I had a very soft mattress the first two nights... I reported it to reception, but unfortunately, nothing was done about it. My partner eventually took my mattress because his was quite firm. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day! The breakfast is quite simple but good. The staff is very friendly; after a week, we already had a lot of pleasant contact with them. We also had dinner there in the evening...a real thumbs-up. The food was delicious. In the evenings, there's a separate area where you can drink free coffee or tea. They charge a small fee for beer or wine. Perfect for playing a game or for a larger group. What's noticeable is that everything goes quiet after 9 pm. You can still go to that separate area, but it's quiet there too. Apparently, that's traditional in the Black Forest. A tip from two crazy Dutch people: make the most of the extra space. For example, hold a simple bingo game or play some music there. People tend to stay longer that way, and it also creates a cozy atmosphere. We also want to give a big shout-out to Sasha, the waitresses, and the chef with his tomato soup.

We ate at the Jostalstüble today. We received a friendly welcome right from the start. Our table selection was immediately accommodated. The children were greeted in a child-friendly manner and were also shown the special play area. There, they were entertained for a while, while the parents could choose their food in peace. The menu was fantastic, and with so many delicious options, it was almost impossible to choose. There was a separate menu for the children with great dishes and puzzles and coloring pages on the back. The food was excellent, very, very tasty, and definitely enough for everyone. The service was excellent. Very accommodating, always attentive, and absolutely sweet to the children. We would love to come back on our next vacation.

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The server wasn't particularly friendly, and they handed me the wrong menu. As a result, I accidentally chose the wrong buffet, and even though I didn't eat any of it, I was still charged. It's a shame, because the food could have been good. At the end, we received a small bottle of sparkling wine to take home as a gift, as it was our anniversary...

I had dinner there yesterday evening with my family. The price for the buffet was initially mega, and the food tasted really delicious. The spaghetti with the shrimp was really excellent, and the asparagus was really good too. All around a great evening Best regards

Nice restaurant with quality cuisine.

We were there for lunch on Sunday. The food was very good, the quality was great, the asparagus was on point. The meat anyway. Special requests were also fulfilled. The portions are very large. Nobody leaves the restaurant hungry!! The waitresses are friendly, courteous and attentive, with a smile on their faces. Our waiter - I think it was the boss. He lives and breathes gastronomy, which is reflected in his colleagues as described above. He was the perfect host for us. Highly recommended. Great location. Very large, bright, clean rooms with a balcony, very quiet and a beautiful view. The spa area was very friendly, with a sauna and a comfortable hay bed to relax in. In the evening there is a very tasty buffet that can be booked, recommended. The breakfast buffet was small, but everything was available and tasty.

Unfortunately my expectations were not met. Structurally the house is really in poor condition. And I'm not necessarily talking about the outdated furnishings, which can certainly have their charm. It's more the general condition. Wood paneling on the balconies that is not maintained, paint peeling off on the balconies, the furnishings are very worn and scratched, dirty carpets. Unfortunately, the images published on the website are very well edited. Far away from reality. The WiFi is a disaster, extremely slow. Since there is no LTE or 5G connection at the location, this is unfortunately no longer acceptable for today's generation. According to the picture on our own website, 83.5 Mbits in the speed test. Reality was way off. The food in the restaurant was really tasty, which is a very positive thing, but overall the service was rather inexperienced. Forgotten cutlery, we got the napkins ourselves, children's menu only upon request, you have to like the host's communication style or not. For example, he shouts loudly into the kitchen for the employees to close the door. You can do it, but at first it doesn't radiate any hospitality and is rather strange. At checkout there was no question as to whether everything was okay, but money was debited, bill, ciao.

We were "just" there for dinner. My husband and I both had the rump steak, and it was very good. The quality of the meat was excellent. We ordered medium, but unfortunately it was a bit overdone, but the meat was still tender as butter. I skipped the fries and was allowed a salad instead.

Beautiful nice cozy guest house, it's in the lap of nature at the Black Forest region in Germany. Superb and ideal place for a quiet holiday.

After a reasonably friendly reception, we rented the bowling alley. This was just one construction site, completely dirty, there was water on the track, and the technology only worked to a limited extent.

Large menu, very nice service, food ok

After a wonderful snowshoe hike, we arrived at the Jostalstüble hungry at 3 p.m. The afternoon menu is very manageable - we both eat the Viennese style schnitzel. Once with fries and once with spaetzle. The spaetzle is cold and goes back with a request for warm spaetzle. The schnitzels are so poorly fried that they are dry, tough and only lukewarm. Nevertheless, this dish costs €20! A good cook brings the pork schnitzel to the guest, finely fried. This really works! This inn is not recommended! What a shame about the €50 paid bill!

I reserved a table at 8 p.m. Reservation accepted We were clearly not welcome. The cook wanted to clean the kitchen and go home. We had to eat very quickly and leave. We were not entitled to dessert. The cook had an unacceptable attitude. I don't recommend.

Das war leider gar nichts. Ich kenne den Gashof von vor der Corona-Zeit und fährt ich muss leider feststellen, dass sich hier offenbar viel zum schlechten verändert hat. Auch haben die Bilder auf der Homepage nichts mit der Realität zu tun. Zum Essen gab es Schnitzel, ein Klassiker den jeder Koch beherrschen muss. War leider nicht der Fall. Viel zu dick und dann auch noch halb verbrannt. Die Pommes waren noch schlechter. Für einen kleinen Aufschlag kann man im Umkreis von wenigen Minuten um einiges besser essen.

The food was OK. Some staff annoyed. It was unfortunate that an additional €3 per meal was charged on a public holiday without any announcement or prior information. Unfortunately, you only noticed this when you paid the bill. When asked by the owner, this is justified by the holiday surcharge for the staff. Unfortunately, this was not stated anywhere upfront or it was not brought to our attention in advance. Too bad. Therefore we will no longer visit the restaurant.

Anche io, ma non era un gran che, l’idea è buona perché si svuota la dispensa, ma la preparazione non è accurata, come le cotolette di maiale cotte a temperature elevate,gli gnocchi fatti con la farina, anche le cotolette scelte dal menù erano cotte nello stesso modo.

Family-friendly country inn. We had a lovely 2 bedroom family apartment. Great service, helpful and patient at any time and on any topic. Delicious food in the evening and a rich breakfast round it all off. Very good location for many excursions. We'll be back.

Full marks - I would have been very surprised to see something else in the Black Forest 😉 A funny, slightly “crazy” boss, a traditional house and a uniquely beautiful landscape! The hotel's own restaurant is excellent, and the prices for accommodation and meals are surprisingly affordable! You could almost say it's a little insider tip! We'll definitely come back (in winter) to go snowshoeing.

Reserve a table for 6 on the 28th in the evening, very hearty meal and more delicious staff, very very pleasant and helpful, very nice dog, moreover we booked breakfast at the last minute which we were happy to accept, I highly recommend this hotel restaurant

The Landgasthof Jostalstüble, Jostalstraße 60 in 79822 Titisee-Neustadt is a beautiful and well-located country inn with a kitchen and rooms. We went to the summer buffet and had a nice salad bar with the following selection: - Carrot salad - Rice salad - Tomato salad - Feta with tomatoes - leaf lettuce - Cucumber salad There were also two different sauces, a vinaigrette and a white sauce. The vinaigrette was a bit too oily for me personally, but both sauces tasted good to me. The main course consisted of salmon with pasta and sauce and Schäufele with potatoes, bacon beans and sauerkraut. The Schäufele was nice and tender, the potatoes could have stayed in the steamer for a few more minutes. The bacon beans were nicely shortened although they were a bit mild. The sauerkraut was good. The fish was also good. Unfortunately there was no sauce for the Schäufele in the buffet. When I asked, I got a good demi-glace sauce. At the end there were different types of cheese. There was no dessert in the buffet. The location was rustic but just right for us. The service staff was very friendly and the owners were also nice and attentive. The summer buffet was well priced at 19.90 euros. Conclusion: A beautifully located location in the countryside with rooms and good offers. The summer buffet was too mildly seasoned for us. The offering was good and the friendly staff and owners were very nice. The price-performance ratio was very good and the outside terrace was also nice. We felt comfortable.

Highly recommended restaurant both for the quality of the dishes and the courtesy of the staff. We ate cured meats, goulash, beef and pork with mushrooms and späzle... all excellent. The desserts are also delicious and plentiful. Menu for children with lots of choice and lots of games to entertain them. But really, the thing that made us feel good the most was the sweetness and courtesy of the lady who served us at the table. Thank you!

Wir haben heute Abend sehr gut dort gegessen. Es gab ein Buffet mit leckerer Salatbar, Schnitzel, und jede Menge Beilagen (Bratkartoffeln, Kroketten, Nudelauflauf, Pilze, Gemüse und Pommes konnte man sich frisch dazu bestellen). Zum Abschluss noch ein Käsebrett. Leckeres Bier und einen tollen Platz auf der Terrasse. Die Kids waren happy auf dem Spielplatz und haben sogar vom Küchenpersonal noch Schokolade geschenkt bekommen. Es gab außerdem eine extra Kinderkarte und etwas zum Malen. Was will man als Familie mehr.

We stayed there for three nights, the rooms are very nice, spacious, super clean and with a balcony. We felt very comfortable, the staff are all very friendly, the breakfast has a good selection and is very good. We ate there one evening and it was also very good. All in all it was just perfect and we would love to come back.

Review for the restaurant: Overall, the food was good and the terrace is beautifully landscaped. Don't expect any newfangled magic from the kitchen, but it tasted really good. Unfortunately the service was very slow. We waited forever until we could order something, the drinks basically only came with the food. But at least everyone was polite and courteous. In my opinion, it's not possible for the chefs to sit down at a place on the edge of the terrace to smoke during breaks. No guest smoked, some were eating, we had small children with us and the entire back part of the terrace was disturbed by the smoke from the employees. The operators should think of something else for their employees. My tip: If you live nearby, order food, pick it up and eat at home. Then you don't have the nice terrace, but it's just as tasty, very quick and very cheap.
