HANS IM GLÜCK - HEIDELBERG Westarkaden in Heidelberg

First day: All orders and the invoice correct! Strong start! Update November 2024: Service now under control. Only menu is still complicated: No thirst quenchers in the children's menu?

We have been there twice in the past and were randomly charged €1 more twice. Today we were back and for the third time in a row we were charged €1 too much. €83.60 instead of €82.60. This even though we had already given tips beforehand. From today on I will never tip waiters at Hans im Glück again.

Every visit is a beautiful experience

Hans im Glück is just trash! The food tasted mediocre at best. The parties are definitely no longer home-made with love like they used to be, but rather greasy, industrial-quality slices. Really not recommended. The salad and garnish were already half rotten.

Food was definitely good for this price. Furthermore, the staff was very friendly.

We had to push back the reservation by 30 minutes at short notice. The employees were very friendly on the phone and it was problem-free. The service on site was very nice and friendly. The food was very tasty and it came quickly. Not a long wait. Even with large groups, we were 10 people, highly recommended.

It was incredibly warm in this location! I thought they had the heater on. When I asked, I was told that the house warmed up so much when it was warm outside for longer. Huh?? Very uncomfortable when you sit there and sweat and it's actually cool outside again. Given that the Bahnstadt was built so young, something like this is actually absurd. And I'm actually not a very sensitive person who complains often, but that was too much even for me and my companion.

We have already been to 13 different HANS IM GLÜCK, but here in Heidelberg the team is really great. They help you, they have a smile and they get along well with each other. The team from Saturday evening October 5th, 2024 was simply GREAT💪💪💪

Wir waren nachmittags zu zweit dort. Zwei Mittagsmenüs etwas über 40€. Das ist schon happig, wäre aber nicht schlimm, wenn das Essen dementsprechend gut gewesen wäre. Aber: Tiefkühlburgerpatty pfurztrocken, Pommes einigermaßen, Salat erweckte den Eindruck als wäre er aus der Tüte und schon Tage alt. Immerhin die Brötchen und das Hähnchenersatzpatty bei meiner Frau waren ganz gut.

Very child-friendly: The waitress brought us crayons and a coloring book for our little daughter to the table before we even ordered anything. The food on offer is also very interesting for vegetarians and vegans and it tasted incredibly good. We also found the ability to pay with our cell phone very practical. Simply scan the QR code on the table and with a few clicks you have paid without having to call the waitress or even wait.

Superb food and service. We were a group of 30 and booked and ordered before hand. We were seated and served very quickly and the food was fantastic! Great ambience with the wood, swings and lighting.

I can't get away from the toilet on the second day after the visit, I'm not feeling well at all, the burger tasted strange and the sauces were in the blazing sun, which should have made me suspicious but I learned something again...

The staff was very friendly and quick. The food was served quickly. The outdoor location is pleasant, but the table/bench sizes are a bit small for more than 2 people. The food is good, but there are definitely better places for good burgers. The drinks are very refreshing and delicious.

Very nice atmosphere and pleasantly designed rooms. The staff was extremely friendly, Nuray who served us was great! Here the customer really is king. The location in Bahnstadt is also great for arriving by tram, for example. However, the prices are really high and, in my opinion, not always justified.

Food was standard since this is a chain restaurant. However, the staff was very rude. All 3 servers were somehow annoyed at our mere presence. No need to guess why, I suppose. It is shocking to see such things in urban Germany and in 2024. Wish I could give 0 stars.

Super tasty hamburgers. Food is fair to the price. I had billy goat burger, goat cheese bacon with fig sauce. Everything tasted great and I found a new favorite burger for myself. We can only recommend the homemade drinks. Recommendation to choose the menu. Burger with a side dish of your choice, a drink and then a hot drink. You get good service for what you pay for. I always come by when I'm in Heidelberg.

Good, but unfortunately you don't have reception and you can't get the WiFi password...So you have to pay in the traditional way. Too bad.

As always, top burgers 🍔 and homemade thirst quenchers / iced tea. Feel free to go for the lunch menu, top offer with a drink, side dish and a hot drink 👌 The service is always friendly and quick....👍 the food is on the table in no time😯😉 Clear recommendation.

The burger is incredibly delicious, it is not very cheap, but there is an application called neotaste, if you use it, you can buy 2 burgers for the price of 1 burger, so it is very affordable. We waited a little long to order, even though it wasn't very full. Similarly, Hans im Gluck in the substadt is also delicious.

Food is always nice at Hans im Gluck according to my experience and delivery to home is also pretty quick. However, the service competency is dependent on the mood of the people or the day you are visiting. There were days where we were not able to sit any of the places in outside because they just didnt wanna serve all the tables. There were also cases were orders taken by those who came later on than we... All in all a good place for burgers.

I come here relatively often and have experienced some ups and downs. When there is a lot of traffic, like today, the expensive fries are not served in the bowl, but rather placed next to the burger. Then you can see how little that actually is. So far everything has always tasted perfect - so I will come back ;-)

The service is super attentive and nice. The food itself was ok and it arrived super quickly despite there being a lot of people, but in my opinion the price-performance ratio still needs to be optimized. The loaded fries with mushrooms, truffle mayo and rocket are a side dish portion for 7.90 (22.07) with 2-3 sliced ​​and fried mushrooms, a bit of truffle mayo and rocket, which was already past the best part of the day and was hardly fresh and rather limp ". Therefore, 2 points deducted because the rocket wasn't really fresh and the portion of mayo was really very manageable. I was very happy that I had also ordered the avocado cream (for an additional charge of €2.20) otherwise I would have had to order something else to fill me up. It would probably make a lot of sense to list the dish under small details or to indicate that it is a small portion🤗

The food arrived quickly and was served by different service providers. There is a lot going on on weekends or weekday evenings, so reservations are recommended. Prices are a bit expensive but tasty. I can only recommend it, I have been there and eaten there several times with colleagues/friends.

Today 4 adults and 3 children 2-4 years old. We were skillfully ignored and were given a card after 20 minutes of asking. To save space we sat at a “lounge” table if it didn’t bother us we could also eat here. Shortly before ordering, after 30 minutes of being there, we were informed that we were not allowed to eat at the “lounge” table, the last large table was reserved but there was still a 4-seater and everything inside was free. We were also told no when asked about the many tables that had not yet been prepared: the boss said you weren't allowed to sit there. We changed the location. Rarely have I experienced such poor service. Was the last time! - Bottomless with 3 small children attached.

Food was great, atmosphere is also there. The employees even turned on the TV for us because we wanted to watch football 😂

UPDATE 2024: Unfortunately, I have to say that the quality of the food here has deteriorated significantly, although the prices, like almost everywhere in the restaurant industry, have risen. In principle I don't have a problem with higher prices, but I also want something tasty to be served on my plate in return. Two years ago we paid around €35-38 for two people at Hans im Glück. We were there often and were always satisfied with the price-performance ratio. Now it's over €50. The burgers are no longer so well topped and somehow seem pretty puny. The fries taste like they have been warmed up again and some of them are just burnt and are small thin pieces. And last but not least, the raspberries that were served with the dessert were moldy on the inside (see photo). We were at Hans im Glück at lunchtime. There was hardly anything going on. So you can't say the kitchen was overloaded. Only the service was very friendly as always. Maybe we were there at the wrong time and the kitchen is better in the evening?! However, I was so disappointed with the food this time that we probably won't come back. A pity.

I’ve never seen anything like this in my whole life!!? Do people in Heidelberg do not care about their business??! I come to this place and ask for a table outside, and the “host” tells me there’s no tables outside when I can see two. He says that there’s only tables for drinking and I ask him: “How Come?” And he answers “cause we only use those for drinks cause they’re so hard to clean!” WOW nothing else to be said. I sat in front of the business writing this review and he come to me and says that he has a table already. Then he gets a lesson about serving people, I told him he should’ve told me to sit no matter what offer me something to drink and then tell me that I should shwitch table. Please local guides, like if you agree with me…

Today's evening was so beautiful at Hans im Glück :) I enjoyed my meal and we tried out these swings to sit on (which I thought would be super uncomfortable at first, but I was so pleasantly surprised. They were so good to sit on.) And with Lukas as our waitress, we were really completely looked after and satisfied! The cocktails are a total highlight. Great recommendation!

Hans im Glück in Heidelberg disappointed me. The prices bear no relation to the service offered. The portions were very small and the sweet potato fries at €6 were completely overpriced. In total we paid €52 for two burgers, two portions of fries and two drinks. The value for money is not justified and I will not eat there again. The positive aspects of the visit were the sauces and the ambience. Conclusion: If you're hungry and have a big budget, it's fine :)

Food arrived before the time stated on Lieferando, but with the wrong dip and no extra 650g of sauce. I still paid for the sauce. Even after calling the restaurant and confirming that the missing sauce would still be delivered, I still haven't received it.

Great place. Visited this restaurant whilst in heidelberg and also the one in Frankfurt. Food was always good, fast service and nice atmosphere.

On Friday evening I wanted to take my family out to dinner. When we arrived we had to wait a long time until someone finally appeared to serve us. The waiter also seemed totally overwhelmed and stressed and didn't take any time for us at all. I could have gone to a fast food chain with my family. When our food finally came we didn't have any drinks and when we were finished we had to wait over an hour until the waiter finally decided to bring us the bill and take the empty dishes with him. Overall it was nice with my family, but the service was hell.

Very stylish atmosphere and nice service. The hamburger and fries were lukewarm. The onions were so small that you needed a magnifying glass. Also, the cheese was missing from a cheeseburger. The salad, however, was great. An additional fries and a drink were forgotten. Actually there wasn't much going on in the restaurant so I don't understand why the waitress couldn't deliver hot food and the order as requested. What I cannot accept in a hamburger restaurant is that if the cheese is forgotten on the cheeseburger, the hamburger goes back to the kitchen and then comes back with a cold slice of cheese on top! No love for food. The prices are steep, so you might expect that :-/

Nice restaurant to enjoy burgers at a high level. The combos that are offered are very tasty. The ambience in the birch forest rounds off a visit to the restaurant as an experience. I think the prices for burgers are a bit high, but good, it's pleasant to eat here.

We were at Hans im Glück on a Saturday evening with a large group of hungry athletes. We had reserved in advance and were shown straight to our seat. Unfortunately, as is the case in other restaurants in the franchise, the furniture here is also very narrow/small and relatively uncomfortable - that's always a bit of a shame. Therefore, unfortunately, a small deduction here. The service staff (Yannick) was very friendly and helpful the whole time - high praise - and quickly provided us with the menu, drinks and later also our burgers. Our cocktails were delicious, unfortunately mine had a lot of ice and was therefore a little worse for the price than the others. The dishes were all very fresh, hot and tasted great. I had a vegetarian, Mexican-inspired burger that I really enjoyed. The fries variations were also great. The prices of the food are also a bit higher, but at HiG you simply pay for a nice ambience, unusual dishes and good service - that's okay. All in all it was a lovely evening and we were all happy and full. 🍔🍟🏃

This shop is really great and really tasty. There is something for everyone, whether vegan, vegetarian or meat. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The food is served quickly and tastes amazing. I tried the vegan burger “Glücksgriff” and it was undeniably one of the best vegan burgers I’ve eaten. Big recommendation from me

The shop was very nicely done and the service was great, there's nothing to complain about here. Unfortunately, my burger was basically inedible. Had some caramelized onions with a small onion ring on it without any fun. Then I scraped off the coating, only the patty and bun were ok. The others who were there thought their burgers were good, but had also tried mine and found it “not tasty” either, so I may have just made a bad choice.
