Very nice and friendly service. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the lack of taste in the food, which looked appetizing. My chicken in sweet and sour sauce only tasted like vinegar. No trace of ginger or garlic. When it comes to Asian food, I expect taste experiences. A hint of lemongrass, some coriander, etc. I also had about 15 cm long hair in a spring roll. The restaurant, which was pretty empty on a warm August Saturday evening, immediately made us suspicious... Too bad.

We sat outside on a summer day. Great food (I can recommend the „Reise durch die Seidenstraße) with a twist. Lovely handmade noodles (a bit like Udon noodles). I enjoyed the service also.

In 2024, card payments are still not possible.

Delicious food & good service (staff) I would use the service - cash only - in 2024!!! really rethink it. Otherwise, next time I'll make a reservation by FAX and pay with a traveler's check. The Postbank opposite also pocketed a €5.95 “tip”.

Hello there, Today we were out and about in my old hometown again and visited the Gingerboy. We were there at around 5:45 p.m. and had plenty of space as only two other tables were occupied. But that changed within 30-45 minutes (Zack loading full) Food and drinks came very quickly and the waitresses were very friendly. The starter came after about 10 minutes and the main course after about 25 minutes. Everything fresh, very hot and really tasty. Portions of the main course are very large (so if you are not very hungry just order one main course). Always happy to give all thumbs up^^

We had a very nice evening after a busy day at the trade fair. The employees seemed very harmonious, supportive and warm together. That made me feel really comfortable. The lady at the bar was familiar and almost affectionate with a small guest. In addition to good food and cool drinks, the atmosphere contributes a lot to the overall experience. If we are in Düsseldorf again, we will definitely come back.

Unfortunately, the food is at most a cheap snack bar with the prices of an upscale restaurant. The curry didn't taste like anything, neither the sauce (neither like curry nor coconut milk, much too watery) nor the vegetables and especially the tofu. Rarely have I had such a tasteless curry. In the other curry, the duck was barely edible because of all the gristle. Tons of salt were needed to make it sensible to eat. And for just under €20 per dish... Snack 7-8 with better taste. Starter, well, not much taste either, the sauce improved it, but it tasted like an industrial product. The dessert was good. Service mediocre, one waitress tried hard, but not great. If we sit there forever and would like to order something and at some point we take the online menu and point it out and even show her the drinks on it, then the drink comes out completely different and goes back to be repaired. Then I didn't expect the lady at the counter to complain audibly about it and complain about the fact that we then have to pay for the new one. We as guests cannot be blamed for the deviation in the maps and specifically pointed out that we looked there. But then putting ginger in a Virgin Mojito without any information? Ginger has absolutely no place in a mojito, non-alcoholic or not. In the end we didn't have to pay, but it's not possible to discuss something like that audibly. If we ask for the invoice and without asking whether a total invoice will be presented separately or together, we don't have to react annoyed if we still pay separately. The lack of card payment is also unbelievable today, at least that's what we were told on the phone. All in all, maximum quality and service of a cheap snack bar. This has nothing to do with good Asian food. The prices, however...

What kind of overrated store is this? The dishes have unusual names, but that’s about it. Otherwise it is at least as good as an average Chinese snack bar, but twice as expensive. It is clearly aimed at the European inexperienced palate. You can't get local Asians in voluntarily. As an Asian woman, I cannot recommend this store. Price-performance ratio is not right and very average, uninspiring cuisine.

Large portions, the food is also very tasty. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, something you're not used to these days. The dining room is a bit narrow and the tables are close together but once you're seated it's fine. Unfortunately, no card payment is possible, which is out of date as in many German restaurants

This place presents itself as Thai Chinese, but has nothing Thai in it. It starts with a more than used menu, where it is stated, almost invisible, that they do only accept cash payments, (with an exclamation point). This is because they also need to pay their suppliers in cash. (As if I, as a customer, care about). Plates have unrelated names to their ingredients ( sth like... A heavenly trip... Could be anything), they serve hair in the dessert AND charge you for it, rather than not letting you pay for it or even offer you sth for free. Rather than asking, if we liked the food, they prefer asking if I got full .. ( like in an all you can eat flat rate place)... And finally.. the place needs some refurbishing... Bottom line... Given the many alternatives there are.. one place less on my bucket list.

If you forget your order, it doesn't even make it to the kitchen.

It was my first time at Ginger Boy. Nice ambience inside, as the weather was so great we sat outside. Despite the streets around it, not loud. Service very friendly, always at the guest, very helpful. Food came quickly and the portions were large. Very tasty with imaginative names. Really recommendable and the prices are reasonable. Clear recommendation.

I didn't have the duck with red Thai curry in the restaurant but as a delivery. Unfortunately, they ruined this delicious meal with the wrong packaging, so that the duck arrived to me not crispy but completely soggy and that's all VERY DISAPPOINTED at 1km distance 😞 My suggestion would be to pack the duck separately in a bowl like the pasta or rice.

The food was really great, and the service was also very attentive. We are very satisfied and would like to come back - only the ambience could be nicer, hence the star deduction.

Wir waren vor einigen Jahren mal hier und hatten das Restaurant in guter Erinnerung. Der neuerliche Besuch gestern war kein Highlight. Die schlechte Qualität der Speisen können die freundlichen Damen im Service nicht kompensieren. Nachdem die Frühlingsrollen nur lauwarm serviert wurden, kamen dann Peking-Ente und Rindfleisch wenig geschmackvoll und lieblos dargereicht auf den Tisch. On Top nur Flschenbier, eine wenig angenehme Atmosphäre - zuviele Tische in dem kleinen Raum - und deutlich zu hohe Preise! Fazit: kein weiterer Besuch!

It's all very inviting, you immediately feel at home. The food the service the Taste, the selection of The variety of dishes on the menu is simply very good. I can always recommend the restaurant. The duck is particularly large and is a delight. All other dishes are what they promise. The other dishes were all very tasty, great drinks menu. In particular, you should “read through” the menu at your leisure. The designations are all very lovingly made. I had the Peking duck. Mega yummy :) We were there on Saturday and definitely want to come back go eat there. And I strongly assume that we will eat here regularly in the future because of the duck become. I give the 2 stars because of the great service and for the old times when the food was delicious (I used to have lunch or dinner pretty often here). This time we ordered a beef red curry and a dish with beef mixed with some fried vegetables. Both dishes were very badly cooked: the beef was cold, the zucchini was almost raw, the red curry sauce was more like water and had no taste. I hope it was just a bad day and they will take measures to avoid this in the future. Very disappointing!

Food was tasteless, that's a no no, wasted 50 Euros. Very disappointing because I started coming here 11 years ago. The dish was watery and vegetables were super raw and many of them cold... Being an Asian food addict I can very well imagine how and how quickly the food was cooked. Meat was good quality and melting, the only good thing about the food. The sauce was tasteless, which is very hard to do if you cook Asian food (our dishes were Chinese). Service personnel was kind and polite. Place is super loud! no music, very tight spaces, can barely move. They also have an English menu (top! because my partner did not speak German). Payment only cash. Came in without a booking/reservation on a Saturday evening.

Food was excellent. Service was also excellent, but I need to deduct two stars for the cash only policy. Really not acceptable in this day and age. Can be a bit noisy. Street parking is difficult (parking garage next door closes at 22:00).

The food was delicious, but not outstanding. I was a little disappointed with the Pekin Duck since in most of the photos published here, you can see that it is accompanied by a sauce and in this case it was more sautéed vegetables than the sauce. I asked the waiter what he recommended to accompany the duck and he suggested pasta, a big mistake. Since there was not enough sauce, the pasta together with the duck did not add up. Still, it tasted good and the service was friendly.

Sehr nettes, einladendes und modernes asiatisches Restaurant. Auch die Küche würde ich als modern bezeichnen. Das Essen war lecker. Alles wird frisch zubereitet in der offenen Küche. Sehr viele Teesorten werden angeboten. Die Getränkeauswahl ist auch gut. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Service was top notch, super friendly and efficient. Food was tasty but a bit confused. Prawn crackers were stale tasting, but otherwise no complaints foodwise. Asia meets Germany type thing, which doesn't quite work. Jiaozi were delicious and authentic, but the mains were disappointing. And spicy means German spicy so not spicy at all. The whole menu is quite gimmicky. Like they couldn't decide what the vibe is so came up with silly names and didn't quite execute. Much potential, but not quite there. But the service made up for what the food lacked. Really wonderful. Unfortunately no cards accepted. Which seems pretty ridiculous in this day and age. Sending customers on a wild goose chase to an ATM is a bit mad.

Wir waren zu zweit bei Gingerboy und haben uns als Snack jeweils die Pekingente Vorspeise gewählt. Die Portion war auf jeden Fall sehr groß für eine Vorspeise. Die Wraps waren bereits fertig gefüllt, was uns etwas überrascht hat, aber sehr sehr lecker. Wir haben auch noch etwas Sauce zum dippen nachbestellt, was kein Problem und ohne Aufpreis möglich war. Somit auch sehr freundlicher Service.

Ich war jetzt schon einige Male hier und bin jedes mal zufrieden. Lecker, Frisch und Portionen nach denen man satt ist. Und selbst wenn man die Portion nicht schaffen sollte, wie bei der älteren Dame die uns begleitete, dann wird es auch sehr gerne verpackt un man kann es mit nach Hause nehmen. Das Lokal ist recht klein und man sitzt eng beieinander. Der Lautstärkepegel ist etwas höher, was aber nicht störend ist, da man dann eh auf sein Gespräch konzentriert ist. Die Toilette befindet sich im Keller, ist also nicht für Rollis geeignet. Auch heute 20.10.23 wieder sehr lecker und frisch gegessen, mit sehr aufmerksamen Service.

Sehr leckeres asiatisches Essen. Für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Das Curry ist großartig!

Bin jedes Mal überrascht, wie gut es mir bei Gingerboy schmeckt. Service ist top. Ich glaube, die Chefin ist jeden Tag vor Ort und packt mit an. Man kennt seine Karte und kann auch eine Empfehlung abgeben. Das Essen war schnell auf dem Tisch, hat aber an Qualität nichts eingebüßt. Was soll ich noch sagen... ?!? Geht hin, überzeugt euch, ihr werdet es nicht bereuen.

Massenabfertigung. laut und ungemütlich. Das Essen stand nach 5 Minuten auf dem Tisch, damit die Leute auch schnell wieder verschwinden und man Platz für neue Gäste hat. Das Gemüse war noch fast roh, die Ente war offensichtlich aufgewärmt und in Currysosse ertränkt. Und zur Krönung des ganzen mußte man auch noch bar bezahlen. Kartenzahlung wird nicht akzeptiert. ein NOGO in der heutigen Zeit. Da gehe ich lieber ein paar Meter weiter in den Chinaimbiss, da ist es gemütlicher, billiger und schmackhafter.

Essen ist immer noch klasse. Draußen ok, drinnen eher einfach.

Der schlechteste Service, den ich je in einem Restaurant erhalten habe. Die Person, die uns bediente, war super Unsympathisch . Wir wollten die Peking Ente essen, aber es gab sie nicht. Schmutzige Gläser, laute Musik drinnen und keine Klimaanlage. Ich empfehle es keinem Keine Kartenzahlung möglich

Erster Besuch in dem Lokal und sehr sehr zufrieden! Der Service (das ganze Team) sehr freundlich und aufmerksam ( nicht aufdringlich)! Die Speisen sehr gut angerichtet und sehr schmackhaft. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist völlig im grünen Bereich! Kommen gerne wieder!!! 👍

I’ve been here twice so far and absolutely loved the food. All the dishes we tried were very tasty and I’m definitely going to be visiting again. My only complaint is that they don’t accept cards.. although this is common in Düsseldorf, I still don’t find it acceptable

Wir waren gestern spontan zum 1. Mal dort und waren sehr zufrieden. Alle Speisen haben sehr fantasievolle Namen und sie halten, was sie versprechen. Die "Lieblingsfrühlingsröllchen von Gingerboy" waren ein toller Einsteig, wir haben sie uns geteilt. Das "Rote Rindfleisch Curry" und die " Purpurne verbotene Stadt" waren phantastisch. Aufmerksames und freundliches Personal haben für einen insgesamt unvergesslichen Abend gesorgt. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder, auch wenn wir deshalb ca. 20km fahren müssen.

den Gingerboy haben wir über das internet gefunden und waren mit 4 Erwachsenen und 2 Kleinkindern dort. Wir haben uns draußen hingesetzt. Es ist alles sehr einladend, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Für das eine Kind haben wir sofort ein Kinderstuhl bekommen und es wurde auch Kinderbesteck gebracht. Es gab auch entsprechend kleine Gerichte. Nach dem Essen wurde den Kindern auch etwas zum Ausmalen gebracht. Die anderen Gerichte waren alle sehr lecker, tolle Getränkekarte. Insbesondere die Speisenkarte sollte man sich in Ruhe mal "durchlesen". Die Bezeichnungen sind alle sehr liebevoll gemacht. Mein Mann und ich hatten jeweils Pekingente. Megalecker :) Wir waren am Samstag da und möchten kommenden Freitag wieder dort essen gehen. Und ich gehe stark davon aus, dass wir künftig wegen der Ente regelmäßig hier essen werden. Das gelbe Curry war in Ordnung, allerdings war das Gemüse, insbesondere die Karotten und der Blumenkohl, nicht besonders frisch. Der Service war freundlich und schnell.

Wir waren heute spontan bei Gingerboy. Schönes kleines Restaurant in Derendorf. Das Essen war sehr lecker und lag meiner Meinung nach über dem Niveau der meisten „klassischen“ Chinarestaurants. Es wurden frische und qualitativ hochwertige Zutaten verwendet und man auch später hatte man kein unangenehmes Gefühl von Glutamat o. ä. Im Mund. Die Portionen waren groß. Die Preise im normalen Bereich für die Gegend. Wird auf jeden Fall noch mal wiederholt!!! Vielen Dank auch nochmals an die sehr nette und aufmerksame Dame vom Service!

I tried a dish with noodles and they give you separate plates. The main dish comes in a plate more for appetizers than for sauce and vegetables. I asked if the dish is mire spicy than a second one and the waitress suggest asking it with no spice. It tasted not good and also no salt on it. Neither salt in the table to use. The dish contained broccoli and zucchini as main vegetables. Not recommend.

Der Service ist super unfreundlich. Das Essen hat leider auch nachgelassen und schmeckte sehr fad. Das Restaurant wird leider in der Zukunft gemieden.

Sehr angenehmer Service: Zur Stelle wenn benötigt und sonst konnten wir auch noch bei leeren Gläsern in Ruhe sitzen bleiben. Das Essen war sehr gut, wir hatten heiße Platten und Curry. Leicht scharf heißt hier wirklich leicht scharf und nicht nur gut gewürzt. Es gibt sehr gute hausgemachte Nudeln und die ausgefallenen Saftschorlen fanden wir auch Klasse (z.B. Kokos-Ananassaft-Schorle). Ein Stern Abzug, weil's so laut war. Ist even ein gut besuchter kleiner Laden. Auch am Donnerstagabend war's gut, einen Tisch reserviert zu haben!

Aus gesundheitlichen Gründen heute mal Essen to-go bestellt. Mega lecker. Preis/Leistung super. Freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch im Restaurant!!!

Schönes Restaurant, super Essen nettes Personal, etwas höhere Preise. Die Vorspeisen sind verhältnismäßig groß ausgefallen, ich bin mehr als satt geworden.

Never again Das Essen kam in weniger als fünf Minuten, es schien vorgekocht zu sein, der Reis war geknetet, ich bestellte ein Garnelengericht mit Sojasauce, die Sauce war schwarzer Honig, ihr Geschmack war unerträglich, ich bestellte auch ein Getränk mit Ananas und Kokosnuss, und es war das schlechteste Getränk, das ich je probiert habe, und bei all dem kostet das Gericht 20 Euro, und die Bezahlung erfolgt nur in bar. Es war eine sehr schlechte Erfahrung

War früher qualitativ deutlich besser, dafür ist das Essen jetzt noch teurer. Zu viele Tische, zu laut, zu eng. Kommen nicht wieder.

Etwas Abzug, da es recht zügig ist und es im Laden nicht gemütlich ist. Zu wenig Abstand zu anderen Plätzen. Essen war gut. Das Personal sehr freundlich.

Ich war bislang zwei mal dort. Das Essen ist wirklich außerordentlich gut. Wir werden 7ns noch öfter für 45min ins Auto setzen um dort zu essen. Die Parkplatzsuche war bei unsern Besuchen jedoch immer eine Herausforderung. Aber der Besuch lohnt sich!

Die Nudelsuppen sind der Hammer! Dafür würde ich sogar jederzeit quer durch die Stadt fahren.

Gelbes Curry war leider sehr fad. Enttäuschend für ~16 Euro. Ambiente ist schön gemütlich.

Das essen ist gut aber die Preise dafür auch relativ hoch. Ambiente ist eher hektisch und unruhig. Wir haben uns schon oft gehetzt gefühlt, einige der Kellnerinnen sind sehr auf massenabfertigung aus und geben einem das Gefühl, ihnen zur Last zu fallen. Cocktails sind eher nicht zu empfehlen, zumindest die 4 verschiedenen die wir probiert haben waren allerhöchstens unterer Durchschnitt. Edit: leider haben sich nicht nur die Preise erhöht (was derzeit auch verständlich ist), sondern leider hat auch die Qualität im selben Maß abgenommen. Wenn ein vegetarisches Gericht was fast 20€ kostet nur 3 Sorten Gemüse enthält die in eine komplett wässrige und fast geschmacksneutrale Suppe - die man „curry“ nennt geschmissen werden endet jegliches Verständnis. Der Reis und die Nudeln waren wie immer gut aber die dazugehörigen Currys extrem schlecht. Wer gern geschmacklose Suppe mit Reis, Bohnen, Zwiebeln und Möhren isst wird hier bestimmt glücklich, wir erwarten aber schon etwas mehr, besonders bei den Preisen. Schade aber hier werden wir nicht mehr essen. Ganz in der Nähe ist aber eine sehr gute Alternative, wo man für viel weniger Geld viel mehr Qualität (auch ohne Geschmacksverstärker) bekommt.

So lala hat meiner Meinung wenig mit asiatischen essen zu tun . Die ganzen Gewürze werden hier nicht benutzt.

Schönes Restaurant mit asiatischer Küche. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Vielfältige Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Sanitäranlagen sind sauber und befinden sich im Kellergeschoss. Nur über eine Treppe erreichbar. Für Rollstuhlfahrer nicht ganz so geeignet da ein paar Stufen zum Restaurant überwunden werden müssen.

Small details: plastic cutlery, bringing the wine bottle already open, and removing service for each customer who finished (instead of when all are finished), can be parts of the service can be improved. Plus, only cash payment in 2022 is unacceptable!!! Highly recommended for Asian food in Düsseldorf, but bring cash.

Gute vegetarische Gerichte, allerdings kann man nur bar bezahlen. Es nervt einfach, wenn manche Restaurants so rückständig sind und man wie im Mittelalter mit Münzen klimpern muss.

Nettes Lokal nette Bedienung hatte leider das Falsche Menü gewählt. Peking Ente war als erstes sehr schnell da.war wohl schon länger vorbereitet und warm gemacht. Die Haut wie gummi fast kein Gemüse unter drunter, wenig Flüssigkeit für die Nudeln. Mein Tipp etwas weniger Ente und besser zubereitet.Wir waren zu dritt anderen zwei Gerichte waren 👍. Falsche Wahl.

Leider gibt es nur die Möglichkeit bar zu bezahlen - heutzutage nicht dem Zeitgeist entsprechend. Das rote Beef Curry wurde vom Curry nur am Rande gestreift - war ein sehr geschmackloses Gaumenerlebnis - wofür der Preis mit fast 21€ schon sehr hoch war.

Sehr netter und aufmerksamer Service. Essen gute Qualität, aber der Geschmack und die würze ist leider sehr eingedeutscht. Scharf ist hier wirklich nur eine ganz leichte Schärfe. Schade, auf Wunsch wird zwar auch gerne eine entsprechende sosse gegeben, aber selbst die ist höchstens Mittel. Die Bänke im aussenbereich sollten mit sitzauflagen ausgestattet werden.

Essen war wunderbar und kam sehr schnell. Sehr nettes Team! Weiter so! Kommen gerne wieder ☺️ Hier sei auch nochmal gesagt, dass man nur Bar zahlen kann😉
