Saittavini in Düsseldorf

The ambiance is great, and the food is very good. The portions are quite small. We've been there a few times, and I was disappointed on the last visit. First, it took a while to finally order, and then the food came much too quickly. The waiter knocked over a glass of water, which isn't a big deal—but I would have liked a new one. The bill at the end was incorrect; there were things on the receipt that we didn't have. And to top it all off, the coffee (black) cost a whopping 5 euros!! What kind of prices are those?? The waiters were a bit too hectic; it's quite crowded in this lovely restaurant, and you sit close together. What a shame! We won't be coming back for a while.

10 stars ⭐️ Great, delicious food. You can tell that delicatessen is bought and prepared here and not standard goods! Team is super professional and the owner Mr. Michelangelo is friendly to the team and attentive to guests. I can rate this restaurant as the best Italian restaurant in Germany and can only warmly recommend it. As a red wine lover in HEAVEN. If I could give 10 stars I would give 20! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of the best Italians in Düsseldorf. The dishes are so simple and yet so perfect in every way. The selection is well coordinated, this also applies to the wine and the ambience is the cherry on the cake.

The food is good and tasty. Nothing outstanding that needs to be explicitly highlighted. The service is attentive and friendly. It is deliberately narrow and loud. All in all, good and nice, only the pricing seems to be in a different sphere than it actually is in reality. Will I come back? I don't know….

Die Vorspeisen ausgezeichnet, obwohl wir Sonderwünsche hatten, alles kein Problem und gerne gemacht! Toller aufmerksamer Service und alles was von Küche und Keller kam, nur fein! Wir haben es genossen und eine Fixadresse bei meinem nächsten Düdo Besuch!

One of the best Italian restaurants outside Italy 🇮🇹 🙏 Amazing cuisine and excellent service, and their pasta with truffle are out of this world!

Slechte tafel naast de bar. Voorgerecht koud en carpaccio niet zoals als ik gewend ben. Hoofdgerecht echt fantastisch, (deer). Wijn ook super aangeraden door ober. Service is onder niveau van restaurant zowel van eigenaar als ober, als iemand klaagt dan reageer je daar netjes op als eigenaar. In Nederland is de service 10x hoger op dit niveau, heel apart. Ik kom heel vaak in michelin restaurants of vergelijkbaar met deze keuken. Ook deze ervaring zal ik delen met ons hotel die dit aangeraden heeft. Grappig dat een stel naast ons precies dezelfde ervaring had en zo snel mogelijk weer wilde vertrekken, zegt genoeg over deze plek.

Bad table next to the bar. Starter cold and carpaccio not as I am used to. Main course really fantastic, (deer). Wine also super recommended by waiter. Service is below restaurant level from both owner and waiter, if someone complains you respond politely as the owner. In the Netherlands the service is 10x higher at this level, very special. I often go to Michelin restaurants or similar restaurants. I will also share this experience with our hotel who recommended it. Funny that a couple next to us had exactly the same experience and wanted to leave as soon as possible, says a lot about this place.

Obwohl wir reserviert hatten und der Betreiber sich die Reservierung telefonisch bestätigen lies, standen wir 10 Minuten unbeachtet im Eingangsbereich. Ein angemessener Tisch stand nicht bereit. Spätere Gäste erhielten einen Tisch. So nicht!!! Wir verließen das Lokal.

Wir hatten uns sehr auf den Abend gefreut und das Restaurant bereits drei Wochen vorher reserviert. Auch waren wir nicht zum ersten Mal in diesem Restaurant , sondern sind seit 20 Jahren regelmäßig, wenn auch nicht monatlich dort zu Gast. Was wir dieses Mal erlebten, war die Krönung jeglicher Restaurantbesuche schlechthin. Als wir pünktlich eintrafen, mussten wir circa 15 Minuten inmitten des Restaurants warten , in einem total überfüllten Raum, in den man ständig gebeten wurde, beiseite zu gehen. Nach 15 Minuten wurde uns ein Tisch , der sich draußen befand, in mitten des Raumes, aufgebaut. So etwas haben wir in unserem gesamten Leben noch nicht erlebt!! Wenn ein Restaurant überbucht ist, sollte man den Gästen absagen und nicht derartiges praktizieren. Dies ist ein absolutes no Go und wir sind zutiefst brüskiert über dieses Verhalten. Lokale wie die Sansibar auf Sylt. Würden so etwas nie zulassen und immer für ihre Gäste alles mögliche tun und sie zufrieden zu stellen. Es wäre schön wenn man sich vom Personal des Saittavini daran mal ein Beispiel nimmt.

What started as a wine shop has now “mutated” into a noble Italian restaurant. Excellent food and great wines at high prices, not much more remains to be said. A clear recommendation for anyone who doesn't have to pay attention to money. The store isn't huge and wasn't initially planned as a restaurant, so it can get very cramped at times.

The food was really delicious, it's a very enjoyable place. The staff is very kind, the flavors are incredible. fried artichokes were amazing, carpaccio was delicious. I recommend.

Das Essen ist sehr hochwertig und lecker. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und professionell. Diese Preise sind, auch für Oberkasseler-Verhältnisse, ziemlich hoch, für das was man bekommt. Insgesamt aber gut.

Something for gourmets. Saittavini also has some of the best wine cellars in the city.

Very nice, authentic restaurant. The truffle pasta is really delicious. The dessert with hazelnut cream is particularly recommended. The service is friendly and courteous and the atmosphere is very cozy. All in all a perfect evening.

Bad food, inattentive service, food far too overpriced

Das italienische Restaurant beeindruckt mit seiner gemütlichen Atmosphäre, authentischen Gerichten und aufmerksamen Personal, das Wärme und Gastfreundschaft vermittelt. Wie im Blumenladen Scarlet Flowers spürt man hier die besondere Sorgfalt und Liebe zum Detail, was den Besuch besonders angenehm macht.

We made a reservation for 4 to celebrate our wedding day. Even though the reservation was made well in advance, we were crammed into a corner. The restaurant was informed about the special occasion but nothing special was prepared. I am not saying that a restaurant is obligated to do something, but I can guarantee you that other establishments who truly are of the same level that Saittavini claims to be, would have prepared something to make the dinner even more special. The quality of ingredients was good, but not extraordinary. The preparation of the dishes was good but again not close enough to the level of other restaurants with similar prices. Nothing special, far away from a Michelin Star level that I am sure this restaurant aspires to be at. For 100€+ per person for a full course meal (drinks included), one would expect a bit more. The waiters were extraordinary, attentive but discrete, overall almost excellent.

We just came here for a nightcap. You feel like you're on vacation in Italy! We were able to sit outside in great weather and have an espresso martini. The price level is a bit high, that's why I only give it 4 stars.

Terrible experience. It took 45 minutes before anyone took an order. Afterwards we waited two hours without anything happening. A table of eight simply ignored while other guests received their orders. I want to point out that the entire table ordered simple pasta dishes, nothing elaborate. Chaotic, unprofessional and disorganized service. An hour and a half of waiting later the request arrives: do you want to order another round of drinks? A mockery. After two hours the dishes arrive. Tagliatelle with chanterelles bought and raw (I wonder how it is possible to serve raw pasta with two hours of preparation available), sillage, liquid sauce and I honestly believe that the chanterelles were frozen. Small portions, literally 4 ravioli per plate. For a plate of pasta and a glass of wine €50 (!!!) per person. Ridiculous.

Pour nous c’est le meilleur rapport qualité-prix dans le quartier. La nourriture est bonne pour une carte assez classique mais un peu recherchée et le service est au niveau (et en quantité suffisante, ce qui ne va pas toujours de soi à Düsseldorf). Nous y allons aussi bien en famille (nos enfants sont grands) que avec des amis ou pour un dîner d’affaires.

Es dauert, bis man plaziert wird, bis dahin: hektisches Rumgemache von uninteressierten Kellnern. Die Karte: hochpreisig, aber langweilig. Immer der gleichen Antipasti, immer der gleiche Fisch. Bestellung: das dauert, der Gast steht nicht im Vordergrund, sondern das Personal. Lärmiges Herumgehampel, unprofessionelle Wichtigtuerei. Das Essen: enttäuschend, die Pasta viel zu weich, die Soße nahezu ohne Aromen, den Fisch totgekocht. Und die ganze Zeit: Kellner die herumrufen, sich wichtig machen, herumgeistern, aber ihren job nicht machen. Wir machen viel in Italien Urlaub, wir essen gerne in den dortigen Restaurants, aber dies Restaurant hat nun nichts mit originaler italienischer Küche mit authentischem Ambiente zu tun. Und teuer…….!

I have to admit that I have been living in Düsseldorf for 5 years and have only been here now. The visit significantly exceeded my experience. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we got a spot. The food could hardly be more Italian. The ambience and service also left nothing to be desired. As a guest you felt welcome and warmly served. Not quietly, but that's kind of part of it. Even the open wines are excellent and very fair in price compared to other restaurants in Oberkassel. The food was really tasty and with outstanding ingredients. We immediately booked another table and will definitely come back often. Thanks to the team for a lovely evening!

The food tasted great. The wines by the glass were of high quality. The 21 year old Grappa rounded off the great experience. The staff was very attentive and answered all questions professionally and charmingly. We will definitely come back.

We visited for the England game and wow so glad we found this gem on the Michelin guide. The beef tartare accompanied with mini mushrooms was delightful starter an array of flavours. Then for main a lasagne that was the best I’ve ever had took my taste buds on a journey I had to order another. All washed down with the Castel red! Jheeez absolutely bloody lovely!!!!! Whilst sat outside enjoying the world pass us bye. I recommend this restaurant to any foody!!!

We had a wonderful afternoon and enjoyed it so much that we went back straight away in the evening. For me personally the best tuna tartare in all of Düsseldorf!

Let me start with the positive part. The food is very delicious, fresh and prepared very well. This Italian restaurant's ambiance is charming but very overcrowded, with too many tables crammed in. Service is suboptimal as a result, with inattentive and slow staff detracting from the dining experience. You can easily compare it to a chaos, and I don’t blame the staff but the management for this - with so many tables and clients, it is impossible to pay high quality attention to your customers. This would have been totally fine if one was not paying 210€ (without tip) for a 2-step dinner for two. Food and particularly all drinks are heavily overpriced, making it hard to justify the cost. Not the best value for money, plenty of other excellent options in Düsseldorf.

Certainly a bit of a trendy place, but solid food and an elaborate wine selection. However, the whole thing is largely supported by the owner; without him at least one star would be lost. Lively Italian that is recommended if you don't necessarily have to turn the cent twice :-)!

Yesterday I spontaneously got a place. The service was very friendly and my food was adapted to my allergy. The tartare with the chanterelles was very tasty and the liver was to die for. The wines also went very well. Just know that it's not for quiet conversations.

The worst burata salad ever. The tomatoes were not just green, they were plastic and inedible. The taste of burata was also so-so. Dinner was saved by dessert - tiramisu saved the evening, it was really delicious.

Waiter inattentive and rude and arrogant in direct conversation. I wanted to reserve a table, but despite capacity, I couldn't be guaranteed a specific table. Zero service thought. Then we'll just go somewhere else :)

Very good food, friendly and professional service. The only downside is that the tables are too close to each other. It's unpleasant to be so close to the people at the next table.

What can I say?! Düsseldorf through and through. See and be seen. The food is always good, but the service is even better when people know you.

What is it with high class German restaurants and not wanting to serve tap water (Leitungswasser)? This would never happen in the UK nor in the USA where, of course, the waiter automatically brings a carafe of water with ice cubes. Not at this rather pricey restaurant. I was treated to lunch by a long lost schoolfriend who wanted to impress me. I was not given tap water and my friend did not allow me bottled water which had crossed the alps (Pelegrino). I was offered coca cola, tonic water and other soft drinks. None of which I drink. Though my friend had reserved a table, we sat on a high chair, opposite the toilet and near the kitchen with constant loud grinding noises. The anti-pasti were delicious, and one cannot do much wrong with spaghetti and prawns. The waitress clearly had never heard the motto that the guest is always king (or queen in our case). We won’t go back.

My long lost friend tried to impress me with her favourite Italian restaurant which apparently, so she tells me, had a Michelin star. We entered a shop-like atmosphere where Italian food was served at the counter and were led to a high counter-like shared table with high bar stools. My friend had reserved for lunch. I asked for some tap water which cause horror on the waitress’ face, telling me that it was against the restaurant’s policy to serve Leitungswasser. the only bottled water on offer was St Pellegrino. My friend did not allow me to drink bottled water which had come across the Alps. Since I do not drink coca cola (was that actually locally produced?) or any other soft drinks, I was left with a dilemma and wondered whether I should just take some water from the too adjacent toilet? I had one glass of house white with ice cubes. The location was very noisy since we were close to some loud grinding noisy machine next to the kitchen. The antipasti was superb which I ordered from the front counter, the spaghetti vongole ok. The waitress had clearly never heard of the slogan “the guest is always king (or queen in our case)”. Only at the end did we find out that there would have been a lovely adjacent sit-down restaurant. I won’t rush back.

A very busy, lively wine bar. Despite a reservation, we had to wait almost 10 minutes with other guests in the entrance area until the table intended for us in the back of the shop was ready. Apparently every free space is used to accommodate tables and chairs, so the passage to our table was correspondingly narrow. Our orders were taken routinely and quickly, the staff is trained given the very extensive drinks and wine list, and the recommended wines were correspondingly good. The food was freshly prepared, attractively presented and of very good quality. The portions are measured so that you can easily “manage” both starter and dessert. Although the bar was apparently full to capacity, the noise level was moderate and the birthday song in the front part of the bar could also be heard in the back area. 😊 After paying, the staff got hectic again because the coat I had handed in couldn't be found straight away. All in all, it's actually a nice place to enjoy a glass or two of wine and dine in a pleasant atmosphere; Next time we'll go there at an unorthodox time when it's less crowded.

A late lunch at 2 p.m. in the middle of the week, logically in a quiet and relaxed restaurant atmosphere; really friendly and attentive guys at work, good wine and delicious food with unique tiramisu.

I've been there several times, so far my best experience was going during the week in the middle of the day when there were few people. There I had excellent service and a good table. If you go on a Friday or weekend, you will probably have a bad experience, the food arrives late, it will be crowded and you may get a bad table. The food is good, but there are better Italian restaurants in Düsseldorf. You pay for the atmosphere, so you better choose well the day/time you go.

We have been coming here for many years and have always loved it. Along with the food, the atmosphere is one of the highlights. The wine list is top and the best in all of Ddorf.

Sehr netter und aufmerksamer Service. Sehr frische und leckere Gerichte. Mehrere vegetarisches Gerichte stehen zur Auswahl. Es gibt Pasta mit weißen oder Schwarzen Trüffel. Eine Reservierung ist empfehlenswert. Angenehme Atmosphäre. Preisleistungsverhältnis eher hochpreisig mit guter Qualität.

Furchtbar! Nie wieder! Vom Chef angeschrien und beleidigt worden! Ich sei frech, ohne Manieren und ohne Benehmen, weil ich ihn drauf aufmerksam gemacht habe dass unser Tisch eine Frechheit war! Trotz Reservierung wurden wir in einer Abstellkammer platziert, mitten in den zu Verkauf stehenden Produkten! Nicht mal 10cm hinter und stehen Leute die auf unseren Tisch warten, und das sogar offen sagen damit wir schneller zahlen! Nach 30min Aufenthalt. Für die Preise (und sowieso) eine absolute Frechheit! Am Ende rausgeworfen worden! 0 Einsicht!

I haven't enjoyed food much here in Dusseldorf, hard to find non over salty original flavors. Saittavini was true to its Italian line , I loved the antipasti sharing plate , very generous . The highlight of the dinner was the pumpkin ice cream . The team was doing its best taking care of us ,will definitely go back again

Wer elegant und bei toller Atmosphäre ein schönen italienischen Abend vorbringen möchte kann ohne zu zögern zum Saittavini gehen. Das Essen ist hervorragend und der Service ist super aufmerksam und freundlich. Es ist das Geld wert. Danke schön es war ein toller Abend.

Ich war gestern Abend dort. Er war sehr eng und ich saß direkt an einem Gang. Ständig wurde gegen meinen Tisch gestoßen/getreten. Meinen Mantel musste ich über den Stuhl legen. Mehrfach wurde dort drauf getreten, wie ein Wischmop. Erst als ich fragte, wo denn die Garderobe sei, wurde mir angeboten meinen Mantel aufzuhängen. Empfand ich als unfreundlichen Empfang. Als Essen bestellte ich u.a. Fassona Bistecca für 42 EUR explizit und auf Bitte "rare". Es kam nach langer Warterei "well" bis "well-done". Eine Entschuldigung bekam ich dafür nicht. Man bot mir an, es zurückgehen zu lassen. Nochmals warten wollte ich nicht. Dass es verkocht war, war nicht mal zu schlimm, sondern die Art, wie man mich dann behandelte, als ich das ansprach. Das war nicht nett oder gar entschuldigend, sondern eher genervt von mir. Man bot mir dafür als Entschädigung ein kleines Glas Wein an. Für ein verkochtes Essen von 42 EUR !?! Leider passen Anspruch und Preise nicht zur Behandlung. Das ist meine Meinung. Das Ambiente ist natürlich sonst sehr schön.

Ich habe als Fotografin hier ein privates Event fotografiert und war begeistert vom guten und aufmerksamen Service. Alle Gäste waren schnell versorgt, inklusive mit als Dienstleisterin. Ich hatte Pasta mit Trüffeln und das Gericht war sehr schmackhaft. In den Genuss der größten Weinauswahl, die ich gesehen habe, bin ich leider als Autofahrerin nicht gekommen, aber ich bin mir sicher, dass da für jeglichen Geschmack etwas dabei ist. Vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft! Ich freue mich schon aufs nächste mal!

I made a reservation 3 weeks in advance yet had to wait 30 min to be seated. Then they forgot to register our main dish orders. After the appetizers we waited for an other 40 minutes. The service is terrible and worst of all they don’t even care. The meat was so hard the knife wouldn’t cut through. I sent it back after the 2nd bite but they charged me anyway. The whole experience was a nightmare. And a very expensive one.

Horrible service, we waited 30 minutes for a table while we had a reservation. Appetizers were good however main dishes were barely edible. Could not cut the steak with a steak knife. Best part was that they made us wait an hour between the appetizers and main dishes. Had to remind 3 times to bring our food.

Great service but the pasta dishes we ordered was far below expectations. The bolognese was watery and the vongole tasted alcohol like the chef added a glass of white wine as a last touch to dish. The ratio price vs. quality of the dishes was 10 to 1. Spend your money somewhere else.

Bin nahezu sprachlos… Unfreundliche, unkonzentrierte und überhebliche Bedienung. Das wohl schlechteste Preis-Leistungsverhältnis in ganz Düsseldorf! Lebt wohl nur noch vom Ruf ehemaliger Glanzzeiten. Die sind definitiv vorbei.

Wir waren dort zu einem schönen Abendessen und waren sehr begeistert. Sehr schönes Ambiente, sehr leckere Pasta und guter Service! Einzig das Dessert war doch recht klein, hier wäre etwas mehr von der Portion her angemessen gewesen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Tolles Restaurant mit sehr freundlichen Service, sehr guten Speisen sowie toller Weinauswahl. Schmackhafte Trüffelpasta und Fleischgerichte. Sehr gute Hummerpasta! Parkhaus in der Nähe direkt vorhanden.

Unbelievable good!! The food in the first place, but also the excuise wine and the atmosphere as well! Really an experience ! We certainly come back here!
