Très beautiful cadre and beautiful decoration of Noël. Nous avons mangé à 2, plat et boisson for 46€. Nous avons pris chacun a schnitzel, elle a été serve très rapidement et était excellente, très bonne sauce. Mention special au serveur qui était vraiment très sympa et parlait même français. Vraiment a good restaurant with a good rapport quality-prix. Very nice frame and nice Christmas decoration. We ate for two, main course and drink for €46. We each had a schnitzel, it was served very quickly and was excellent. Special mention goes to the waiter, who was really nice and even spoke French. Really good restaurant with good value for money.

Este es un restaurante típico alemán. El servicio es más lento de lo que muchos estadounidenses están acostumbrados porque se supone que debes sentarte y disfrutar de la compañía con la que estás. La comida es auténticamente alemana, muchas veces se puede escuchar, preparándola en la cocina. Solía vivir en Heidelberg a finales de los años 1990 y este restaurante ha sido consistente desde que viví aquí. Deliciosa, auténtica, tradicional.

Pasé a almorzar mientras visitaba los Mercados de Navidad y me tomé uno de los mejores kasespatzels que he probado. Sirvió Erdinger Bier también! Vale la pena venir a morder algo.

So food was okay but I forgot a bag and called 15 minutes later to ask if they could leave the bag somewhere (it was 15 minutes before they were supposed to close). The waiter hung up the phone as soon as I said "I was there earlier and forgot a bag". Afterwards I called and they didn't answer at all. I went back the morning after and the other waiters were very nice but the bag had disappeared. So looks like last night's waiter now has new socks lol

Unfortunately just average. The restaurants we wanted to go to beforehand were completely booked. We found another place here. The host is very friendly and on the ball. The food: knuckle and roast pork were generally good, but nothing more. Unfortunately, the sauces were rather tasteless and the dumplings were probably from the ready-made bags. I think with a little more love for the ingredients and the sauce, the dishes would improve enormously. Still, as I said, it was good. Price-performance is good.

Stopped here by chance. The restaurant was very busy. Service was friendly, seemed slightly overwhelmed. Food was nothing special now. Not a long wait. Ambience is a bit old. Guess this is a typical tourist restaurant. Come once, then never again.

The restaurant is located in the heart of Heidelberg's pedestrian zone. The food was good, the prices were fair. And the staff is super friendly. We would come back.

Friendly service, but the homemade Maultaschen soup contained Maultaschen from the normal supermarket, which was a shame

This is a typical tourist restaurant, one assumes that most of the guests will only be seen once. First of all, the positive thing is that the service is very nice, friendly and fast. The plate with Saumagen, sauerkraut and fried potatoes, the Saumagen was good, unfortunately burnt in some places, the sauerkraut was the worst thing I have eaten at the age of 50, the **fried** potatoes were soggy, tasteless, the sauce worked like that ... we had the feeling that something was helped here with convenience products. Cordon bleu was very well fried, unfortunately the seasoning was missing and the fries had too much. Vegetables not fresh, very soft, lacks flavor, potato corners come out of the freezer, salad is bland and tastes bland. The food is completely carelessly prepared for 5 people, you can eat schnitzel and cordon bleu, everything else is driven down by hunger. The coffee was very good. It's a weird restaurant, including cobwebs, the price-performance ratio is simply not right. If we come back to Heidelberg, we won't eat here anymore. P. S. Save yourself half the orange slice, it doesn't go well with any food

A rustic restaurant in the middle of the pedestrian zone. Mix of tavern and student restaurant. Nice young staff with a regional menu. Food good and tasty. Prices okay. Recommendation.

Attention, not a recommendation. If you're looking for good bourgeois, you've come to the wrong place. Explanation: The food is typically designed for tourism, i.e. little to no craftsmanship, cheap products and speed. We ordered Jägerschnitzel and got Maggifix ready-made sauce with cans of Champions. The fries weren't crispy but rather chewy... The Maultaschen soup was Maggi fix vegetable broth with a piece of bread from the supermarket. Be careful when checking out: we didn't want to give a tip because of the quality of the food, but this was already preset in the card reader so you could/should choose between 7% and 19%. The waiters also put a bit of pressure on it.

Sat in the bar booth. This was my first authentic German meal, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Completely reasonably priced. Amazing service. Quite busy but they were so accommodating.

It was very nice find for us, in this crowded and busy area! They serve authentic German food, the serving size and quality is excellent. We got recommendations from the staff and it was very good choice, which were Pork knuckles and Schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Pork knuckle was well seasoned and perfect, (a bit big but excellent size for me) comes with yummy and aromatic sauerkraut and brown bread. It looked like bare skin initially to be honest but it tasted better than any knuckle I tasted. Pork knuckle usually smells too meaty to me, this one did not, which is excellent. The bread was a bit stale but I didn’t need it at all. Pork schnitzel was good and the sauce was creamy and full of local mushroom aroma (the yellow one), and comes with hot and crispy chips. With beer, it was heaven. We ordered dessert as well, of course German traditional apple strudel with cream and ice cream. It was a bit chewy from microwave I think, but flavour was excellent. Staff was full of smile, very helpful and interesting character. It was great experience, will visit again soon!!!

Worst experience at a restaurant in Germany. Wanted to take my mom visiting for her first German meal while in Heidelberg. Chose this restaurant on the way to the castle and sat outside with 4 of us. We ordered drinks and 3 meals. We waited over an hour and still hadn't received our food. When we saw another table who showed up after us eating already, we asked the waiter how much longer it would be. He brought us the bill for just the drinks. We said but where is our food??? He looked at his paper and saw our order but never gave it to the kitchen! All he did is ask if we wanted to wait. We said no because by that point we had already been there 1.5 hours just to drink a cola and we had to get to the castle before it closed. He didn't even say sorry. We left hungry and upset.

Nice location in Heidelberg's old town / pedestrian zone...but nothing more. Unfortunately there was no welcome service and we had to take our own seats. We only had a menu because it was already on the table. After the drinks were ordered, no service employee came by for a long time to take the food requests. But we acknowledged the cigarette break from the service across the street with a smile. After we were finally able to order the food, it went very quickly...it's just a shame that out of the 2 meals we ordered, 2 were wrong. So we had to wait again...after the correct order arrived, we discovered that a lot of finished products (Maggi, Knorr, etc.) were used for cooking. Annoying that the wrong side dish from the wrong delivery was found under the schnitzel. When asked the standard question after the meal: “Was everything good?” And we said no and reported, the service started with discussion...

We wanted to try german food and we had german food. Worth to try.

I myself have been coming to Heidelberg for many years and come here again and again... this time we were there at Pentecost with the oldis (wheelchair and walker) and dog. We came to the boys' house for our entire vacation and were always greeted in a very friendly manner... Dogs and senior citizens were no problem. 3 times in a row across the menu and it was always very good. The service was not intrusive but very good. Guys, we would love to come back… Greetings from Grandma and Grandpa😉

We were in old age for the first time in Heidelberg and the first time here in the restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and... WHEELCHAIR was no problem. We ate very well for three days and felt very comfortable. The food was sufficient and not too expensive. We would like to come again.

Seldom eaten so badly! We had a grill plate for 2 people. The meat was not seasoned at all, the fries were about to burn and the vegetables were probably frozen and way too cooked and also unseasoned. The garlic sauce served with it was a ready-made sauce. The grill plate was served on a “hot plate”. However, it was ice cold, which meant that the food was cold within a few minutes. Furthermore, the staff was never available and didn't care about you. Reorder drinks - none! Even though there were only three tables occupied in the entire restaurant. Far too expensive for the quality of food and service! The restaurant probably doesn't care about the review anyway because they make money from tourists who don't know the place.

We are often in Heidelberg and a must is the white swan. Everything was very good, service was great, friendly and attentive. Everything we ate there was very good and there was plenty of food. Prices were reasonable. We look forward to the next visit.

We came here because we didn't know our way around and there was a lot going on in this store. Considering the price, the food wasn't even that good, it was very faithful and I could practically taste the bags of hollandaise. Also, really few fried potatoes on the plate. The ambience is really very rustic and probably hasn't changed since the 80s. There's not much to complain about about the service except that the waiting times could have been a little shorter.

Portions far too small, service doesn't feel like working.

Be sure to eat asparagus during season, ask for 1/2. You cannot finish the full portion. They cook deliciously. You wait a little bit, but it's worth it. .

The store was hardly visited, which should have been a clue. Service very friendly and accommodating. The schnitzel was half burnt, but the fries were only half cooked. Small portion and fried veal schnitzel. Too bad for the price.

Schnitzel and fries - sinew in the meat and some were so flat that there was only marinade, absolutely poor quality of meat. Chicken breast with champion cream sauce and potato wedges - meat very dry, mushrooms from the jar and sauce oily. Absolutely not recommended! Better choose another restaurant! A pity. Nevertheless, the service was very nice

We recommend! My Wiener Schnitzel is one of the best I've ever eaten. My wife had the lentil stew with spaetzle and silk sausages, also highly recommended. There is still real craftsmanship and love for the product in the dishes. And the service was also very good. We'd love to come back!

This restaurant is a one-time tourist restaurant... Come by once as a tourist, pay and leave. Positive: - Service tried hard and “on the ball”. Drinks arrive quickly - Food (schnitzel and cordon bleu) were freshly prepared Negative: - The schnitzels are generally only served with fries as a side dish. Since I don't like fries, I preferred hash browns as a side dish. The card informed me that I had to pay extra for it, but the service lady didn't. Instead of €19.90, €21.90 was now charged. The OBERHAMMER: While my wife's plate of fries almost burst, I received exactly 3 in words THREE Röstis. These were just as frozen goods as the run-of-the-mill fries. It's actually not a bad thing that the host uses frozen food... But in every supermarket the Röstis have a certain size due to their triangular shape... But what was that? The Röstis were round and had a maximum diameter of 4cm... The ratio to the Cordon Bleu was absolutely not right. I checked the path to the kitchen to see if a few had rolled down. And for the joke, which is prepared in the same deep fryer as the fries and was far too small as a side dish, you have to pay an extra €2? - I go out to eat to have fun and eat something that you can't get at home... Absolutely not available here... Schnitzel and Cordon Bleu are actually not difficult to achieve... But there is a lack of love here. 1. No salt and pepper - it didn't taste like anything (and that's what a cook in the kitchen has to do after knocking and not the guest at the table) 2. No breadcrumbs but some industrial stuff on it... Simply bland... 3. Of course it only saw oil in the deep fryer or probably pan, no butter taste... Basically no problem if the first 2 points had been fulfilled. But the breading didn't make a dent in the schnitzel... - A side salad is not included in the price. But he should - the decoration of the food creates a snack bar that is equal or even better.... Sooooo loveless.... An open ketchup bottle and a few sachets of mayo on a plate.... Fries were slapped onto the plate with the schnitzel... Okay, the three of them mini Röstis found their place - Restaurant can be described as quaint or outdated. Also just very dark Conclusion: Food wasn't great and it wasn't much either. I would like to note that I am not a cheap eater but a heavy eater. I'm happy to pay for quality. Money. I was also willing to pay something for other side dishes. I generally like to tip... But I was extremely disappointed and I will never visit this restaurant again

Beautiful, rustic restaurant in the old town of Heidelberg. With friendly and fast service, we were very satisfied and would be happy to come back when we are in Heidelberg.

Four of us were eating in this restaurant for the first time. It looked appealing from the outside as they also had a whole “schnitzel menu”. But appearances can be deceiving. I had a Jägerschnitzel, the schnitzel itself was partially raw on the inside, the sauce was very sour, so it was definitely a ready-made sauce and a very bad one at that. Canned mushrooms. One of us had ordered a schnitzel with baked ham in tomato sauce and the schnitzel simply had a slice of cooked ham on it and an almost pink tomato sauce around it, which also didn't taste good. The only thing that worked were the fries and the packet of mayo. So I wouldn't recommend schnitzel in this restaurant. In addition, the landlord came across as very indifferent to us and, in my opinion, always kicked open the kitchen door quite loudly and inappropriately.

A quaint restaurant with great food, praise to the chef who was very quick. Would go back immediately if we were in Heidelberg again.

Wir haben heute in diesem Restaurant zu Abend gegessen. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker. Wir wollten dieses Restaurant bereits zu unseren Lieblingsorten hinzufügen. Die Preise waren durchaus angemessen. Leider hat ein Moment alles verdorben. Wir haben in den Pommes einen Stückchen Verpackung gefunden. Das fand ich nicht schlimm, aber wir haben es dem Kellner gemeldet. Er antwortete, dass so etwas vorkommt. Beim Öffnen der Verpackung geriet das Stückchen hinein. Ich erwartete nicht viel, aber ich dachte, der Kellner würde sich zumindest entschuldigen und einen Rabatt anbieten. Das ist jedoch nicht passiert. Ich fragte, ob sie einen Rabatt machen könnten, der Kellner sagte ja. Aber als wir die Rechnung bekamen, hatten wir keinen Rabatt erhalten. Wahrscheinlich werden wir nicht mehr dorthin zurückkehren. Es ist sehr schade. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker. Die Enttäuschung kam nicht vom Stückchen Verpackung in den Pommes, sondern von der Reaktion des Personals darauf, als wäre es normal.

Ich Liebe Gasthäuser, allein schon wegen der Einrichtung. Aber auch wegen dem guten deutschen Essen. Ich war leiser etwas enttäuscht vom Linseneintopf die meiner Meinung nach zu viel essig abbekommen haben (hab mich aufklären lassen, "das soll so". Also wer es mag..) und den Spätzle, die sehr verkocht waren. Aber die Maultaschen-Suppe, war besser als ich es erwartet hatte. Zum hineinlegen! Dennoch nur 3 Sterne fürs essen, wegen den verkochten Spätzle. Da der service, das essen falsch geliefert hatte, nur 4 Sterne. Wer sagt das ist zu hart, macht sich selbst ein Bild Viel falsch machen kann man in diesem Gasthaus dennoch nicht!

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Gutes Preis/-Leistungsverhältnis. Freundliche Bedienung. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Der Service ist unfreundlich,man wartet ewigs. Das essen schmeckt nach nichts und die Qualität lässt zu wünschen übrig.

Wir haben eine Gulaschsuppe gegessen, die nur lau warm war und total versalzen war. Wir konnten sie deswegen nicht aufessen. Meine mom hatte noch Reibekuchen gegessen die waren ganz ok.

Wir sind seit 24 Jahren jedes Jahr im Advent Gäste. Dieses Jahr hat meine Frau ihr Handy liegen gelassen. Das war dann 2023 das 2. Essen, wie immer gut bis sehr gut.

Nice atmosphere, unfortunately inconsistent service (beer arrived immediately, the main dish took more than 20 min with an empty restaurant) and the food was overall mediocre. The leberknödelsuppe was quite nice, but the exterior of the einsbein was barely cooked and the dish was insipid; bread not great

Wir sind dreimal dort eingekehrt und waren eigentlich nur dort, um zwischendurch mal einen Wein zu genießen. Der ausgesuchte Wein war sehr gut und wir wurden jedesmal sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich bedient. Das Essen, welches man an uns vorbei zu anderen Tischen getragen hat, sah sehr gut aus.

Wir waren zu sechst essen. Bislang haben wir das Restaurant eider übersehen. Das Essen war hervorragend. Wir hatten Maultaschen, Wiener Schnitzel, Saumagen und 3 x Jägerschnitzel, 5 x 0,5 Weizen und 1 großen Apfelschorle und haben sehr angemessene 155,-- Euro bezahlt. Da ich mit amerikanischen Gästen da war, war es sehr nützlich, dass die Speisekarte auch in Englisch war und die, sehr freundliche, Bedienung auch ein ausgezeichnetes Englisch sprach. Meine Gäste waren vom Besuch in diesem Restaurant sehr begeistert. Auch ohne Gäste aus USA waren wir garantiert dort nicht zum letzten Mal.

Spontan hier eingekehrt, da wir Appetit auf gutbürgerliches Essen hatten. Drinnen ist es wirklich "alt" ...also Geschmacksache. Die Bedienung war nur zu zweit und das Restaurant komplett voll. Dadurch kam die Aufnahme der Bestellung leider etwas unsympathisch rüber. Das Essen war aber wirklich wie bei Oma - sehr gut!

The atmosphere is nice and staff is really friendly. It is also baby/ kid friendly. They have diaper changing station. The food was nice. We had egg noodle and chicken breast. The menu is German/English and the food is traditional German style.

Das Essen war leider überhaupt nicht gut. Die Pfifferlingsauce hatte die Konsistenz von Pudding und war sehr fad. Die Portionen war auch nicht sehr groß. Für 23€ ist das einfach zu wenig Qualität und Quantität. Der Service war schnell und nett. Ich würde es als Touristenrestaurant einordnen. In der Altstadt gibt es deutlich bessere Restaurants in dem Preisniveau.

Da gibt's geschmacklich bessere Lokale in Heidelberg. Vorallen die Spätzle haben enttäuscht. Maultaschen gab es leider nur mit Fleisch. Aber es ist etwas ruhiger und die Bedienung ist freundlich.

Essen fast wie früher - Topp Überraschung - saulegger. Und so viel Senf zur Bratwurst wie man möchte ohne Aufpreis !
