Super nice, rustic inn with really delicious food!

Very nice and quiet guest house. The food was really tasty. The selection of wine and food is extensive. There were fresh roses on the tables, the candles on each table were already lit - very cozy. The service was friendly and accommodating. 🙂

We asked for a table for 3 at short notice around 6:30 p.m. and were lucky despite reservations. The restaurant is small, cozy and the service was very courteous. We hadn't expected that in this situation and the whole thing was topped off with the very tasty food! A very nice evening

Super cute traditional family restaurant, fast and friendly service, very large selection of dishes, homemade and very tasty. The prices are a bit higher but the price-performance ratio is right!

Very cozy and not overcrowded. Nice ambience and good food with a lovingly designed menu - here called a book. Prices are still very reasonable here. Here the boss is still out in the restaurant and taking care of things. We can only recommend it here. Been here as a couple.

The friendly waiter greeted us, and the chef then showed us to a nice table area. The food is homemade, but with German precision in taste and presentation; that's Maria's obra. The local dark beer complements my dinner. great service. If you are in Heidelberg, this place is the place for heart and hearth. It's a local favorite.

Food: had to be pre-ordered for our group. I had hot salmon steak on cold (!) rice with salad, €26. Nice location.

My husband and I love this inn. The people here are so warm and humorous. The food is outstanding and on the table quickly. It just feels like home. From the ambience to the food. Simply great!!! I really enjoy coming here.

Unfortunately there is no place to take a quick break and just have a drink. We are made aware of this quite rudely. Unfortunately, we didn't know exactly whether we really wanted to drink or eat something.

It's nice to sit on the terrace and the service is relatively quick and friendly. Unfortunately there is only one vegetarian dish (apart from salad). Chanterelles with cream sauce, dumplings and salad. The chanterelles were certainly fresh and the cream sauce consisted of whipped cream being poured over the mushrooms. The sauce was neither seasoned nor flavorful in any other way. The dumplings were also absolutely tasteless and sticky. The salad with the ready-made dressing was delicious and fresh. Of course, it's possible that the meat-heavy dishes in this restaurant are very tasty, but I can't judge that. I find it disappointing and out of date to only offer a vegetarian option that isn't even tasty.

Last Thursday evening I had dinner with friends (SWR 3 crew) at the “Zum Spreisel” restaurant. What should you say or write? From the reservation the day before, to the great service, as well as the delicious main course and the wonderful dessert, there is nothing to complain about. It was once again very nice, very funny and also very tasty. I can only recommend everyone to go there and try out all the delicacies. ENJOY IT 😂😂😂

It's just nice to stroll through such a historic city and then treat yourself to a good meal. Very nice old restaurant and delicious traditional food. Very accommodating conditions and super great interaction. This was a great end to our day. Thanks to the team.

Violently racist. I have now read several comments here about “colored” people being sent away on the grounds that it would close. We didn't think anything of it and they didn't even look us in the face and tell us it would be closing soon... it was 8 p.m. and they were open until 11 p.m. and other people were still allowed in?! I have never experienced anything like it. Better go to the Thai guy across the street who was super sweet and nice…

Very cute restaurant with authentic German food. The service is very friendly. There are extremely many options to choose from. The card is handwritten and very cute with one option per page. The portions are very large and some dishes also come with a salad as a side dish. The food was all fresh and delicious. The view of the water was also very nice.

Family owned and operated. Very kind staff, delicious food, and personal atmosphere. I was solo on a busy evening and they welcomed me in without a reservation and treated me very well. This is not a place to be in a hurry. Sit, enjoy the meal, the character, and the wine.

Note: Bring cash! This is a really cool spot that I don't think gets enough local attention. It's also hard to find because the name outside doesn't match the name of the restaurant. Look for the hotel pointing at the old bridge. It's wonderful here, the atmosphere is great, and the beer was good. The menu was very cool, even though I couldnt read the German on it well, I fumbled through and it was very fun.

A very rustic, cozy restaurant with friendly service. The food was plentiful and very good. The prices were reasonable for Heidelberg and quality.

Off the tourist path, facing the river. Beautiful interior, the old wood beams are amazing. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the fried potatoes!!! The menu is extensive and only in German, but using Google Translate app makes it easy to read. Also pictures on Google Maps help! The owner and staff were very welcoming. We did not have a reservation and thankfully arrived before the dinner crowd. The portions are substantial. Credit card accepted.

We have always wanted a restaurant with good German cuisine. We found it. Not just good. BUT VERY GOOD!!!!! Very good, simply excellent German cuisine. Nice atmosphere whether outside or inside. Whether it's the boss or the waitress behind the counter, everyone is very friendly. Many thanks also to the kitchen for the very good German food.

The atmosphere in the dining room is great. Likewise the delicious menus and the extremely friendly service. We enjoyed the evening with roulade and particularly fresh asparagus. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent cuisine, freshly prepared with super friendly service and a great ambience. If you are in Heidelberg, you should definitely stop by here, by far the best restaurant in the area.

a (somewhat) couple were entertaining guests, and the lady had a rather peculiar style of addressing visitors. There was no talk of friendly interaction here, despite my always happy mood. We were given unreasonable instructions not to take photos (even though the terrace was chosen because of the view of the Old Gate). The asparagus soup was OK. We were not given any time to look at the menu and were not given any information about the drink selection. The wine was served without asking how many grams you wanted and you had to fight for a second glass. Luckily we were in a good mood, but next time I visit Heidelberg I'll think twice about letting my mood be spoiled here.

We had dinner at the inn today. The telephone reservation about 30 minutes in advance worked well and we spontaneously got a table. Overall, the restaurant is very quaint and cozy. The service was friendly and the food tasted good. Thank you.

Opening times are wrong and should be corrected urgently, this is the second time that the place is open but the door is closed.

Wir wurden von einem Gast vor dem Wirtshaus überzeugt drin essen zu gehen. Das war ganz klar kein Fehler!!!! Super freundlicher Service. Wirtshaus Ambiente. Super kreative Karte, handgeschrieben, sodass einem das Wasser schon beim Lesen im Munde zerläuft. Große Portionen schön angerichtet und die Geschmackskomponenten unglaublich passend abgestimmt. Leckere Weine und Schnäpse! Absoluter Geheimtipp für Heidelberg! Hier waren wir zwar das erste, aber nicht das letzte Mal!!!!!

Das Ambiente im Spreisel ist sehr urig und sehr gemütlich. Das Essen schmeckt gut, teilweise ist das Preis und Leistungsverhältnis ein bisschen unrealistisch. Dennoch isst man im Spreisel gut. Die Auswahl ist sehr groß und die rustikale Küche ist toll!

Urige Atmosphäre, sehr netter Service. Gans war geschmacklich sehr gut, aber zäh und deshalb für 36,90 Euro enttäuschend. Rotkohl top. Salatdressing zu essigsauer.

Sehr schöne urige Atmosphäre, die Gans war in Ordnung, knusprig aber etwas zäh, die Knödel etwas fad. Der Kaiserschmarn war hervorragend. Wir haben es genossen :)

Ein schöner laden, mit sehr gutem Essen. Wir gehen hier seit Jahren hin und sind immer sehr zufrieden. Ich kann es nur empfehlen.

Essen: Ein Geficht, so wie von Omas Küche. Personal sehr net. Ist nicht billig aber preiswert. Kann es sehr empfehlen.

Somos turistas, venimos de México y Buscábamos un lugar dónde comer una sabrosa milanesa, encontramos este pintoresco restaurante y ha sido toda una grata sorpresa! La comida deliciosa y el servicio no podía ser mejor. La dama que nos atendió siempre amable y atenta. Muchísimas gracias.

Immer wieder gerne. Es war wieder sehr lecker. Rinderroulade gegessen mit Bratkartoffeln, Rothkohl und Salat. War wieder super lecker. Bratkartoffeln sind mega und die Sosse ein Traum. Wir sind alle 4 Personen begeistert. Kommen wieder gerne.

Tolles uriges Lokal mit frischen und qualitativ hochwertigen Speisen und einem tollen Service. Auch die Preise waren angemessen.

Die Reservierung per Mail wurde nicht bestätigt, die wir gesendet hatten. Wir versuchten es trotzdem und bekamen einen Platz. Das Essen dauerte länger, wahrscheinlich wurden wir vergessen. Egal, das Essen war vorzüglich. Der Salat war sehr lecker, das Schnitzel sehr gut gebraten. Die Bedienung war zuvorkommend, obwohl am Anfang gestresst. Ist aber verständlich in der Arbeitssituation!!! Ich würde wiederkommen und kann das Restaurant sehr empfehlen...

Ich kann die negativen Kommentare nicht verstehen. Leute wenn Ihr nur was trinken wollt dann nimmt nicht ein Wirtshaus in dem Speisen serviert werden. Schön sitzen wollen, aber umsonst ist nicht immer drin. Seid auch nicht empfindlich wenn das Personal viel zu tun hat und sich nicht umgehend kümmern kann. Das Essen ist super. Vier Speisen gehabt und alle Top. Das Personal ist direkt (muss man ab haben können), lustig und versteht ihr Handwerk. Daher 5 Sterne

Wahnsinn. Hier wird alles noch selbst gemacht und die Qualität ist enorm. Der Chef bedient noch selbst. Das ganze Lokal ist Kult, es fängt schon bei den Speisekarten an. Das Essen schmeckte phänomenal und hatte einen fairen Preis, wobei ich für dieses Gesamtpaket auch mehr bezahlen würde. Ich werde, wenn ich wieder in Heidelberg bin, definitiv nochmal kommen.

Das Ambiente und das Essen können überzeugen. Leider wirkte der Service auf uns äußerst unfreundlich. Es hat auch sehr lange gedauert bis das leckere Essen endlich kam.

Das Essen war mehr als ausreichend, hervorragend gewürzt und im Vergleich sehr preiswert. Es hat uns dreien geschmeckt. ( Sauerbraten, Schweinshaxe und Pfifferlinge mit Knödeln) Das Kellerbier war auch sehr gut.

Liebevolle Speisekarte, tolle Qualität, sehr persönlicher Service - und die Wirtin ist einfach klasse.
