Was only there for a beer, Rothaus Weizen is of course a strong story.

We went there for dinner following a friend's recommendation. Food was ok and arrived quickly. Regarding the selection, there was something for everyone. The ambience was that it was old but worth seeing. Totally ok. However, the service was just bad. For one thing, it seemed that the two waiters didn't really understand each other. The two of them often discussed things so loudly that the guests could understand everything. We asked a waiter several times for new drinks, but they never came. At the end we asked again for the menu so that we could order a bedside table. After waiting 10 minutes we decided against it. Since the food was just ok and the service was at that level, I would eat somewhere else in Heidelberg.

I recently went to the Krokodil restaurant and had a really excellent meal. I ordered the schnitzel with fries, and it was simply fantastic! The schnitzel was perfectly breaded and crispy, while the fries were beautifully golden brown and crispy - exactly how it should be. I would particularly like to mention the side salad: crunchy, fresh and with an incredibly delicious dressing that rounded everything off perfectly. A real highlight! The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and the service was friendly and attentive. All in all a successful evening. Clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food!

At first I was skeptical because the tables in the beer garden weren't exactly inviting. The food was very good, which couldn't be said about the waitress (two men). No smile, short, unfortunately that was nothing. And in my opinion, a good meal also includes good service.

Quaint restaurant in Weststadt. the map is extensive. From seasonal dishes, e.g. asparagus variations to various burgers with fries to honest, home-style dishes, the offer matches the atmosphere with lots of wood and the magical, eponymous comedy works of art... delicious, cozy... always a pleasure. ..

it used to be good now it different . Sadly four times i ordered Spätzle and got delivered Fries instead. The sauce is really oversalted. The prices got higher but the quality of the food lower.

Yes, the crocodile is still an authority in the western city. Unfortunately, the lunch table was rather disappointing: the chicken burger was banal, the sauce for the Brauhaus Geschnetzeltes was too salty and flat.

Abseits der Touristenpfade gelegen, ohne Reservierung einen Tisch erhalten. Netter freundlicher Service. Speisen und Getränke kamen schnell. Keine haute cusine, jedoch gute Hausmanskost. Gut angemacht und schmackhaft. Preise angemessen. Hier kann man einen gemütlichen Abend verbringen. Nur 9 von 10 Punkten, da uns zum Abschluss eine "Zwischenrechnung" präsentiert wurde - muß das sein?

There were four of us there for a cozy evening, only a few tables were occupied. After dinner we wanted to play skat. The friendly waiter came to our table immediately after handing out the cards and pointed out that the boss had seen us via video camera - he pointed to the cameras above the counter - and that it was forbidden to play. Mind you: we played quietly and talked at a normal volume, no one was drunk. There is nothing wrong with the ban itself; each store can of course decide that for itself. But monitoring guests via video is simply creepy. The boss has a problem, I will never visit the store again.

Charged €1.90 per tiny glass of water and didn’t tell us beforehand about the price

Tucked away in a neighborhood off the beaten path you will find this small hotel and restaurant where the locals gather. Food was very good and the wait staff was friendly to a traveler with very little German language. The menu is not in English so have your phone ready to translate. If you are interested in local flavor, give this place a try.

Authentic old hotel with a nice dining room. A good selection of German dishes and beer. I enjoyed the wild garlic soup and the pork and beef cutlets topped with wild garlic. The staff was accommodating of our poor grasp of German language. It was quite busy on a Friday night.

Lunch okay, very friendly service, go and try it out

My meal (I had a burger with stealth fries) was OK, but average at best compared to other restaurants. The ambience is quite nice and with a lot of greenery, the service was good. However, there are a few tables (we sat at one of them) that are closer than average to the entrance door, where there is a lot of walking and cold air sometimes blows through in winter. I wouldn't advise against the restaurant, but in my opinion it's really nothing special.

We were there on Friday evening, ordered drinks and fries and then wanted to play a game of cards. We were told by the only friendly waiter that we weren't allowed to do this. Why do you go to the rustic pub next door that also shows football, but if 4 people want to play cards, this is forbidden? We weren't loud or anything like that, there seems to be a general ban on card games. Except for one older waiter, the rest of the waiters couldn't be surpassed in terms of unfriendliness. In total we left €75 in the shop (for fries and a few drinks) and we definitely won't be coming back. At 11:30 p.m. the Nutcracker was played loudly to get the guests to leave the store. I also know from previous visits that the food doesn't correspond to its price. Next time it's Black Peter again, luckily he's also in the neighborhood and there's good food there plus permission to play cards.

Impossible service! We had reserved a table until 9 p.m. At around 6 p.m. we were approached and told that we would have to vacate the table shortly because all the seats were reserved and there was no reservation for us. They wanted to get rid of us even though the store was half empty. Shortly afterwards the glasses were almost taken out of our hands. We had also previously asked if it was okay if we played cards (which was answered in the affirmative). At the end, people in the restaurant said that that wasn't true, so we were portrayed as liars. Wow! The food isn't bad, the lunch menu is cheap by Heidelberg standards, but I will never go to this restaurant again because of the extremely unfriendly treatment.

Although on December 7th When a reservation for Boxing Day was confirmed over the phone, there was no space for us. The waiter made a grumpy impression on site: "You just have to go eat somewhere else." Exactly what you hope for on a holiday with relatives.

A few years ago I had dinner at Krokodil during Christmas time. We had a St. Martin's goose with dumplings, glazed chestnuts and red cabbage. It was very delicious. I have a positive memory of it.

Super. Das Essen war wie immer sehr gut. Gute Portionen. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Sehr freundliches Personal. Sehr schönes Ambiente. Angenehme Kundschaft. Reservierung wird empfohlen. Immer wieder gerne. Für mich ein muss in Heidelberg.

Ich halte viel aus. Eine 3/4 Stunde nach Bestellung noch nichts zu bekommen, auf Nachfrage vertröstet werden, auf weitere Nachfrage die Antwort bekommen, dass eine Gruppe die nach uns gekommen erst bedient wird und wir erst danach dran kommen ist dann aber doch heftig. Als wir dann auf direkte Nachfrage aus der Küche mitbekommen haben, dass mit unserer Speisse noch nicht mal begonnen wurde und wir warten sollen - keine Entschuldigung - sind wir dann aufgestanden. Käsespätzle kann wirklich nicht so schwierig sein, vor allem wenn der Laden nicht proppenvoll ist. Unsere Cola mussten wir dennoch bezahlen trotz dieser vergeudeten Zeit. Ist aber ok, im Krokodil essen wird nichts mehr.

Der Service war sehr bemüht, das Essen leider von der Qualität nicht gut.

Schönes und beliebtes Lokal mit guter Küche

Sehr schlechter Service für Einzelgäste. Ich musste 10 Minuten warten, bis mir überhaupt die Speisekarte vorgelegt wurde, die Bedienung ging immer an mir vorbei, obwohl sie mich gesehen hatte. Dann musste ich nochmal 20min warten, bis sie zum Bestellen kam, noch nichtmal die Getränkebestellung konnte ich vorher machen. Andere Gäste, die als Gruppe nach mir kamen, wurden vorgezogen. Bin dann hungrig weitergezogen zur Konkurrenz. Ich war früher schon öfter im Krokodil, ohne derartige schlechte Erfahrung. Werde nicht wieder allein hingehen.

Wir waren zum Mittagessen hier, alle Gericht für 11,90€ incl. einem Beilagensalat mit sehr gutem Dressing. Die Gerichte waren einfacher aber alle sehr gut und vor allem sehr gut gewürzt. Preis-Leistung super, wir haben sehr gut gegessen und kommen gerne wieder.

War hier zum Mittagessen. Konnte mich vorher gut online informieren, dank Speisekarte. Parkplätze vor der Türe kritisch, muss man Glück haben aber die meisten sind ja in Heidelberg eh per Fahrrad unterwegs ;-) Reservierung muss nicht unbedingt sein, waren noch genug Plätze frei ( Mittagessen! ) Uriges Restaurant. Bedienung war eine Frau, nett und freundlich. Essen kam auch rasch nach der Bestellung. Hatte Schniposa. Preis / Leistung absolut in Ordnung. Deshalb 5* vom Kaiser👑😁

Sehr lecker, ich hatte den Rucola Salat - super! Und das Dressing schmeckt sehr gut.

Definitiv das beste Restaurant in Heidelberg.

Der einzige Grund dass ich tatsächlich nicht 5 Sterne gebe ist, unsere Teller wurden abgeräumt obwohl wir noch nicht alle fertig waren. Sonst war es sehr gut. Das Essen war sehr reichhaltig, das Ambiente war sehr einladend. Das Restaurant ist verständlicherweise auch gut besucht. Wir haben trotz fehlender Reservierung direkt einen Tisch bekommen. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist auch sehr gut. Komme gerne wieder um ggf. alle Sterne zu geben.

Wenn man abends was trinken will eine Option, aber zum Essen eher eine Notlösung. Preislich ok, geschmacklich ok, aber beides kein Brüller und keine Qualitätskontrolle, dort geben sie auch offensichtlich etwas angebrannte Speisen noch raus. Fazit: Kann man machen, muss man aber auch nicht.

Schönes kleines Restaurant mit ausgewogener Speisekarte und prompter und freundlicher Bedienung. Ich hatte den Grillteller und kann den auch empfehlen, es gibt aber auch einige interessante vegetarische Gerichte. Klare Empfehlung!

Absolut geniales Essen, wir waren das erste Mal im Urlaub hier und es hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir 1 1/2 Stunden her gefahren sind, nur um nochmal hier essen zu können. Sehr netter Service. Etwas rustikales Ambiente, aber nicht negativ auffällig.

Ich kenne das Krokodil schon seit 1999.Für gehört es schon ganz klar zur Weststadt. Guter Treffpunkt.

Das Essen hat sehr lang gedauert aber es war wirklich gut. Unsere Beilagen salate kamen nicht zur gleichen Zeit was uns sehr verwirrt hat. Die Kellner waren super drauf :)

Selten hat mich ein Restaurant in allen Punkten so überzeugt! Wir waren über 10 Personen und bekamen unser Essen relativ zügig. Montags ist Schnitzeltag, das überbackene mit Ratatouille war äußerst lecker! Dazu ein frischer Salat mit schmackhaftem Dressing. Super Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis supernette Bedienung! Besser geht es kaum. Empfehlenswert!

Auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert! Das Personal ist sehr höflich und herzlich. Das Essen ist einfach der Wahnsinn. Ich hatte einen Zwiebelrostbraten mit Bratkartoffeln, sehr große Portion in fabelhafter Qualität. Das Fleisch war perfekt medium gebraten und äußerst zart.

Das Krokodil ist seit langem eines der besten Gelegenheiten für Heidelberg. Eine Apperetiv in der Sonne, das Abendmahl im Wirtshaus, so genießt man sein Leben.

Gemütliches Ambiente in der schönen Weststadt von Heidelberg, freundliches Personal und das Essen war sehr gut für einen günstigen Preis. Was will man mehr? Auf jeden Fall wieder… Top!

Bei meinem Menü wurde mein Salat vergessen, preisanpassung war daraufhin nicht möglich. Auch als man mir versprach den Salat einzupacken um ihn daheim zu essen geschah dies erst auf mehrmaliges Nachfragen… schade, wenn etwas versäumt wird, finde ich sollte man auf Kundenwünsche (die im Rahmen liegen) eingehen oder zumindest versuchen die Situation zu berichtigen! Das Essen an sich wurde leider lauwarm serviert. Würde hier bloß wieder kommen wenn nichts anderes im Umkreis auf hat, zum Glück hat Hd Alternativen.

Ein stilvolles Restaurant mit deutscher Küche, für mich ein echtes Highlight der Heidelberger Gastronomie. Es liegt in der Weststadt, einem gutbürgerlichen, in der 2. Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts angelegten, Wohnviertel (in dem ich meine ersten vier Lebensjahre verbracht habe). Hier trifft man kaum Touristen, sondern erlebt noch originales Weststadt-Flair. Trotzdem ist die Innenstadt zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten zu erreichen. Die Gaststätte ist schlicht und ansprechend eingerichtet, hohe Decken vermitteln das Gefühl einer gewissen Großzügigkeit. Doch das Wichtigste ist natürlich das Essen. Ich habe ein sagenhaft köstliches Cordon bleu mit Bratensoße und pommes gegessen. Ausgezeichnet! Die Portion war groß und sättigend, der Preis angemessen, das Personal freundlich. Fazit: Das "Krokodil" ist einen Besuch (oder auch mehrere Besuche) wert.
