Great Brägele, great potato salad. Nice schnitzels. Decent portions. Good quality selection of beer, wine and sparkling wine. Well chilled. Nice and quick service, even with a full house: admirable.

Brilliant across the board! Rustic restaurant with wood paneling, very inviting and cozy. Service is top, requests are addressed immediately and with a smile. The food is unbeatable! We were able to try the cheese spaetzle, the homemade vegetarian Maultaschen and the schnitzel with Brägele. Everything fresh and incredibly delicious.

Finally real portions! Very tasty schnitzel and one of the best potato salads I've ever had in a restaurant. Only grandma's is still there. The Brägele, on the other hand, wasn't quite my cup of tea but maybe that's a matter of taste. Definitely recommended for the great value for money. The ambience is nice and rustic and the service is super nice. We'll definitely be back!

Gasthaus is a guest house. Worth keeping, no frills, Baden, warm, genuine! Excellent food.

The food is plentiful and delicious. You shouldn't eat too much beforehand. With a small schnitzel plate there were two schnitzels and with a normal schnitzel plate there were three schnitzels 😳 Oh and for those not from Freiburg, Brägele are fried potatoes.

One of the tastiest schnitzels I've eaten, the potato salad is simply amazing, it even rivals grandma's. The liver was also very tasty, fried just right. A successful evening with very friendly staff. We'll definitely come back

Fisrt of all: You need reservation. We went without reservation at 20.00 and they told us that the kitchen will close soon. Why do they need to lie… its easier to tell us that you need reservation.

Last Thursday I ate something different than normal. Usually there is always schnitzel. This time I ate wild sausages with potato salad and it was delicious. I was more than full and the fried sausages were great. Wasn't the last time.

I remember the food better but it was tasty. The potato salad was very neutral with the exception of the pepper. Schnitzel and Brägele are also low in salt and the salad dressing is also rather neutral. But actually that's healthy too :) But the service was legendary - we were a very large group and everything was super fast and friendly!

Compared to before, the ox has slacked off on the classic schnitzel/salad/potato. The salad was almost tasteless and the potato salad was bland without any spice. Schnitzels were ok.

Everything was good, great service and inexpensive food.

It's nice that Zähringer Castle has reopened. As one would expect from oxen, the quality and portions of the schnitzel are excellent. The beer and wine are also great. Service great. We'll be back!

Place without air conditioning (in August!!), it was very hot inside, menu only in German. We got up and left before even ordering; we need respect for customers and tourists.

We arrived town late and the host had recommend this place close by. It serves traditional food which turned out to be nice especially the venison dumpling and sausage salad which is unusual. The waitress didn’t speak much English but was very friendly and willing to help. All in all a decent meal!

We came to the inn spontaneously and without a reservation on Saturday evening. It was very full but the friendly employee found a place for us. The service was very quick and friendly. The cordon bleu was huge, it came with fried potatoes and a fresh salad with a really great dressing. The price (€23.50) is very fair, we didn't finish everything - even if it was very tasty. Clear recommendation!

The two of us had dinner there. Schnitzel with Brägele and green salad, and cordon bleu with potato salad and green salad. Normal portion is 3 schnitzels. There is also a small portion with 2 schnitzels. The schnitzel tastes great. No fat, tendon or cartilage in the meat.Very good.The Cordon Bleu as well.The potato salad is homemade, Baden style, nice and tasty😁

Very, very tasty dishes, large portions in the same style for years. Really worth eating here. Unfortunately it is quite loud inside, which should be remedied with acoustic sails or pictures. The service is friendly, can have a little joke, although not the fastest (fair - it was busy).

Best schnitzel in town. Reservation is mandatory, otherwise there is nothing. Great wooden rooms, dishes from game to asparagus are super tasty, without any frills.

If you like a good, civic atmosphere, this is the place for you. The schnitzels are highly recommended. Unfortunately, it is often so loud that undisturbed conversations are hardly possible.

Former oxen in Zähringen. Who had to move. Improved location in size, also suitable for people with disabilities. The rustic atmosphere is preserved with the tiled stove, floorboards inside. I'll test the garden in the summer. Food was delicious again. This time there is a card, previously they told you what was available. The service could have been a bit attentive, but it was still okay

Excellent evening with friends at Kult-Schnitzel and Cordon Bleu together with Brägili. Plus one or two delicious beers and finally a chocolate mousse, also a feast for the eyes. This is how to live. I always like to come here when I want to eat delicious food. Thank you for your commitment in the kitchen and service.

Table reserved, reservation not found, got alternative table. Consumed a lot and well. Quite loud atmosphere. Then I was called at home...why didn't I show up, in a harsh tone!? At least the food was good.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find a parking space by car. Food was good, home-style. It was busy on Friday, but waiting over half an hour for drinks is not acceptable.

Food was delicious across the board. The apple pancake tops it all off - I've never had such a delicious pancake before. Only the Käsepätzle could use a slightly spicier cheese, otherwise there's nothing wrong with them. Try the pancake!

We were there for the first time, everything was perfect here. Service, food, prices, tip top, we'll be back, and highly recommended.

Die alte Tradition der Schnitzel konnte auch hierher gerettet werden. :-) Nach wie vor einfach gut.

Leckeres reichhaltiges Essen und nettes Personal. Bei uns war es sehr voll. Also vielleicht vorher reservieren.

Ein Traditionslokal das die Räumlichkeiten geändert hat. Die Qualität der Speisen ist absolut so wie man es aus dem alten Lokal kennt. Und zwar: richtig gut. Der Service ist freundlich und schnell, die Preise annehmbar. Die Lautstärke ist etwas "drüber" aber das Gesamtpaket immer noch lobenswert. Im Vorfeld vielleicht besser reservieren

Kult sind die fantastischen Schnitzel, von netter Bedienung serviert und mit dem leckeren Salat mit der authentischen Salatsoße vorweg ein Hochgenuss, dann die Schnitzel begleitet von goldgelb gebratenen Brägele in gemütlichem Ambiente. Alternativen wie Rehragout oder Pfannkuchen und Pfifferlinge!Frühzeitig reservieren! Hier stimmen noch Preis und Leistung! Parkplätze im Hof oder Tram 4.

Preis Leistung unschlagbar, sehr nettes Personal. Wenn volles Haus leider bisschen Laut.

Wir haben uns spontan für einen Besuch entschieden und es war die richtige Entscheidung! Die Bedienung war trotz relativ viel Besuch sehr freundlich und zügig. Die kleine Karte, spricht für Qualität, das Essen (Schnitzel und Cordon Bleu mit Salat bzw Brägele) war sehr sehr gut! Klare Empfehlung für dieses gemütliche Restaurant!

Sehr lecker und recht nette Bedienung. Wegen den Essen würde ich definitiv wieder hin:)(haben nice Wein Schorle).

Quasi das neue „Zum Ochsen“ - also fantastische Schnitzel und die besten Brägele (Bratkartoffeln) der Welt. Allein für die komme ich immer wieder gerne nach Freiburg! Das Ambiente ist schön und gemütlich und der Service nett und aufmerksam. Unsere Bestellung ging zwar auf dem Weg vom Service zur Küche verloren, so dass wir recht lange warten mussten, das wurde aber sehr freundlich und kulant gelöst, so dass der Abend nicht darunter gelitten hat.

Fruher wurde als "Zum Ochsen" gennant und das Restaurant war in einem anderen Ort. Heute ist hier und ich empfehle immer noch das Essen. Echte Badische Küche. Super lecker. Die kellnerin war nicht so freundlich aber es gab viele Leute.

Super wunderschönes Restaurant!! Entweder heißt es Zum Ochsen oder Zähringerburg, ist es mein Lieblings Restaurant. Schnitzel ist lecker wie immer, aber Kartoffelsalat schmeckt mir am besten 😋

Schon jahrelang mein Stammlokal wenn ich Lust auf badisches Essen habe. Ich esse immer wieder gerne Schnitzel und Brägele, die ich mit Abstand die beste in Freiburg finde. Das Personal ist immer sehr nett und freundlich und ich bin begeistert von dem neuen Innenraum. Wenn ihr mit der Straßenbahn 4 fahrt ist nur 3 Minuten zu Fuß entfern von der Haltestelle Reutebachgasse. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Posto carino e a buon mercato. Peccato per un disguido inerente alla prenotazione, gestito malissimo dal personale. Fortunatamente, dopo un po' di attesa e nessuna scusa, siamo riusciti a cenare.

Senza ombra di dubbio uno dei migliori ristoranti qui a Friburgo . La location è a dir poco splendida con degli interni tipici e molto molto accoglienti . Il personale è sempre molto gentile e il titolare è molto socievole e trova sempre un po di tempo per parlare un pó con te. Non posso fare altro che consigliarlo, sono super soddisfatto .
