This restaurant was recommended to us. We were so overwhelmed by the overall impression. Everything just fit there. Friendly welcome even without prior notice. Very nice service and also very good food. It was an experience to be here. We can only recommend it if you are visiting Freiburg.

I'm not entirely satisfied. In retrospect, I'm annoyed that I decided to leave a tip given the outrageous beer prices so as not to look like the biggest unfriendly monster in the world - the waitress can't do anything about the prices, but there's an end to your wallet somewhere sometimes achieved. Unfortunately, the service was slow, the price/performance ratio for the food and service was just ok, emphasis was placed on quality, which is really great. Unfortunately, when it comes to drinks, I see the scope as being too much. Edit: Due to the owners' reaction, I feel compelled to give the all-clear. Fortunately, there is NO lying chancellor to be found in the restaurant. Otherwise I would of course have thanked him personally :D All joking aside, I don't quite understand the connection. But it's not that important either. In the end it's quite simple: If I like a shop and the prices are reasonable, then instead of the simple margin for a beer, I might even get you double or triple the margin. But as it is, there won't be any margin from me at all. Apparently the place is busy, popular and customers can afford the 5.90 for a bottled beer. Do I just have to accept it and go somewhere else or look into the tube...

You have a very cool concept with Sincarne Schwarzwald, but one thing really put me off when I was with you. You have a hefty price for your portions, which I personally find very small. A sauerbraten with dumplings and red cabbage for €21.99, the two slices are ok, but the side dish could be a little more. In my opinion, 2 small dumplings and a dollop of red cabbage are a bit small for this price. Then a pumpkin soup for 7.99 that is empty with 4 to 5 spoons is also a bit crazy. Your food is actually very tasty, but the price-performance ratio isn't quite right. Lg

We stopped here by chance after a day of tobogganing in the Black Forest. Super nice service and the food was very tasty, real heartfelt cuisine. Definitely not the last time I ate here!

We were there spontaneously with a large group and got a seat without waiting. Unfortunately the drinks were not brought together; Unfortunately, hot coffee cools down, which was unfortunately not very professional. We would have liked to have all toasted each other, so only 3 stars for the service. We also ordered an apple strudel for €10.50. Although the taste was quite good, possibly homemade (?), the portion was really extremely small. Apple strudel is as long as an index finger, thick as a hand and only about three fingers wide. That was a disappointment for the price, especially since it came with spray cream and not even good whipped cream. If the apple strudel is actually homemade, you could perhaps write that down, then it might be easier to understand the high price and the small quantity. Therefore only 3 stars.

In December 2024 I was a musician in grandma's kitchen and spent the whole evening in this wonderful atmosphere. We really get around a lot and I was pleasantly surprised by the absolutely fantastic service staff. Both the boss and all the employees are very friendly and incredibly on the ball. The food was great and you never had to wait long for an order. I can only recommend the restaurant, we felt very comfortable there.

A nice restaurant with a nice atmosphere, the food was good and plentiful, I had cheese spaetzle. The service was busy so it took a while, but no problem. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately our expectations were not met. There wasn't much going on, but we always had to wait a long time for the service person. When we wanted to order from our colleague, we were referred back to the service person responsible for our table - who of course didn't come. So we had to wait forever for drinks, main course and dessert. We had to request the invoice 3 times... Unfortunately, the taste of the food wasn't outstanding and it was way too expensive. The ice cream was forgotten at dessert We won't come anymore.

We just happened to be at Grandma's kitchen, but it was a lucky break. The menu lists the restaurant's suppliers; the ingredients are fresh and regional. And you can taste that in every ingredient, be it the green salad (with cress and buckwheat), the (homemade?) tagliatelle pasta or the freshly whipped cream for the apple strudel. Without explicitly paying attention to it, we noticed how fresh everything is. It is made without flavor enhancers etc. Additives cooked, nothing was oversalted, everything was delicious. The quality is certainly better than the competition for Baden cuisine in the old town. However, also more expensive; the apple strudel costs €10.50. The service was friendly, asked every now and then if everything was OK, overall a very cozy, relaxed atmosphere. We sat there for a long time and it was busy but we enjoyed the food and the hustle and bustle.

After a trip to Lake Titisee, we stopped by "Grandma's Kitchen" for a Baden meal by chance. Fortunately! We had a nice seat in the beer garden without a reservation. The service was quick and super friendly. The food was really really great. Especially the cheese spaetzle. Better than in Austria in the Bregenz Forest - and that has been the measure of all things for us when it comes to Käsespätzle or Kasspatzn. The meatballs are also interesting in terms of taste (as a Berliner I would describe them as meatballs). There's some special spice in there. I found it great. One star deducted because the portions are big enough but not more. And by the way: there was also a parking space in front of the door, which is not always a given in Freiburg.

We were there late afternoon on Sunday. The salad below was great, very extensive and tasty. I ordered sheep's cheese with it. It was really great with chutney on the side. Above, fried potatoes with cream cheese and salad. The cream cheese was beautifully dressed, the potatoes were not too greasy and tasty, and the side salad was clear. The service was attentive and very friendly. All in all we were very satisfied. Gladly again !

I can particularly recommend the vegan tarte flambée! One star less because most of the dishes were more expensive, but overall we really liked it!

Unfortunately, disappointing if you still know the location from before. In particular, in our opinion the price/performance ratio is not right and that is the problem. Good food, extremely lively (to put it positively) atmosphere and slow service can be forgiven if you don't leave so much money there. Then you take the evening as a visit to the local pub. Therefore unfortunately fewer stars. And we would also like to point out that there is hardly anything available for those affected by lactose intolerance.

Sitting comfortably under the trees in the Wiehreviertel, chatting with friends and enjoying classic Baden cuisine is an excellent option here! A happy place in Freiburg!

Great local restaurant rated relative to pubs and casual dining. We've been here a few times and will come again. Reliable home-style cooking with a diverse menu that includes some interesting local dishes . We both had spargel with schnitzel, which was delicious. Good quality ingredients. They offered an all you can eat BBQ that looked awesome. The outdoor seating under the old chestnut trees is lovely.

The goat cheese, from a local farm called Ringlihof – it’s the best goat cheese you’ll ever taste. Tremendous flavor, so creamy, so rich. I’ve never had anything like it. This cheese is a game-changer, folks. Nobody else has anything close to this. And the apricot jam? Perfectly sweet, perfectly balanced. It’s like a symphony of flavors in your mouth. The arugula adds that perfect bite, the walnuts give it a fantastic crunch, and the bread – oh, the bread is so fresh and delicious. Omas Küche has taken these simple ingredients and created a masterpiece. It’s genius, folks, pure genius. The way these flavors come together – it’s like magic. You won’t believe how good it is until you try it. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is fantastic. They make you feel right at home. But this dish – the goat cheese from Ringlihof with apricot jam, arugula, walnuts, and bread – it’s worth the trip alone. It’s the best, the very best. So do yourself a favor, get to Omas Küche. Visiting Freiburg and looking for something good to eat. Landed exactly right. Rustic atmosphere, good quality food. Meat, vegetarian, vegan...there is simply something for everyone. We recommend the homemade lemonade, simply delicious. We will be back definitely.

A great evening with friends and family. With 7 people at the table, Warendorf's service staff were great. The food came quickly and was very tasty. Something for everyone. Salad with good dressing. Criticism will not be addressed, but will be responded to by a lawyer. The (still) good rating apparently comes mainly from the previously high quality and the distortion that arises from removing bad ratings. I would strongly advise against a visit.

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of friends. "Omas Küche" has a nice garden outside, so with today's weather we sat outside, under the chestnut tree. The young waitress serving us was very helpful, polite and smiling. She quickly gave us the menu and took our order. Appetizing smells wafted from the kitchen, so we impatiently waited for the ordered dishes. Soon drinks and salad appeared on the table, followed shortly by the main courses. Our dishes were warm, fresh, well seasoned and intensely flavored. My asparagus was perfect, the pancake dough was delicate, and the sauce was velvety. My partner's dish also tasted delicious. We were enchanted by the place and we will be happy to visit it again, because the cuisine actually tastes like grandma's. For me it fully deserves 5 stars. Wir sind auf Empfehlung von Freunden in dieses Restaurant gegangen. "Omas Küche" hat draußen einen schönen Biergarten und so saßen wir bei dem heutigen Wetter draußen unter dem Kastanienbaum. Die junge Kellnerin, die uns bediente, war sehr hilfsbereit, höflich und lächelte. Sie gab uns schnell die Speisekarte und nahm unsere Bestellung entgegen. Aus der Küche wehten köstliche Düfte, sodass wir sehnsüchtig auf die bestellten Gerichte wartten. Ganz schnell haben wir unsere Getränke und Salat auf dem Tisch bekommen. Unsere Gerichte waren warm, frisch, gut gewürzt und intensiv im Geschmack. Mein Spargel war perfekt, der Pfannkuchenteig war zart und die Soße war samtig. Auch das Gericht meines Partners hat köstlich geschmeckt. Wir waren von dem Ort verzaubert und werden ihn gerne wieder besuchen, denn die Küche schmeckt tatsächlich wie bei Oma. Für mich hat es voll und ganz 5 Sterne verdient.

We celebrated a family celebration with 18 people in a separate room at the weekend and were treated to fantastic food, delicious drinks and very friendly and fast service. Many thanks to the whole team at Grandma's Kitchen :)!

Well. Where do I begin.... 1. We had made a reservation and waited in vain for the reserved table to be assigned to us. At one point I went to the counter to draw attention to myself and was continued to be ignored by the staff behind it. Afterwards I literally ran after a service worker. She finally took pity and showed us a table. 2. Unfortunately, a young temporary worker stumbled when she brought our drinks and everything spilled into my lap. It can happen. I felt rather sorry for the young man. He apologized several times and made reasonable efforts to repair the damage. It was a shame that he and I cleaned together and the person serving the table didn't feel responsible to help. She just wanted to know if I was hurt. She didn't care that I was wet and sticky down to my underwear. Of course we got new drinks. 3. The food was okay but nothing special. The high price of €24 for 1 pancake with chanterelle sauce and small leaf salad made me expect something better. 4. The restaurant was quite full and unfortunately it is very loud there. A bit like a canteen atmosphere. Difficult to have a conversation. Therefore deductions for the ambience. 5. When we asked for the bill, the waitress apologized again and offered us a late, but still late, coffee as compensation. However, we were already on the move. For example, the one scoop of ice cream that my companion had for dessert could have been forgiven as a gesture of reparation. But unfortunately none. We actually had to pay the full amount. We even gave a tip! Conclusion: Grandma's Kitchen is overrated in every way: the service is unprofessional, it's too loud inside, the food is average and too expensive. We took it with humor. We were just passing through and looking in advance to see where you could go for a delicious meal away from the old town etc. We came across grandma's kitchen online. A corner restaurant in a pleasant residential area. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. I had three things, schnitzel, veal meatball/cake and cheese spaetzle. My wife had the Wiener Schnitzel from the recommendation board. After ordering, the long-awaited knock of the schnitzel could be heard from the kitchen and that calmed and convinced me. Both dishes are great craftsmanship, the taste is just right and the portions are generous. Quality is more important to us than overloaded plates. Pork schnitzel still juicy, fresh from the pan, cheese spaetzle creamy, as it should be and the veal meatballs also delicious. This was subtly seasoned with tarragon, which generally goes well with veal, but surprised me a bit. In short, everything was great. It's great to have found a shop like this that cooks exactly what we were hoping for. Thanks to the kitchen and the rest of the team. Will definitely come back.

One of the best and most famous restaurants in Freiburg with classic Baden cuisine. What is particularly noteworthy is that some classic dishes are also available in vegetarian or vegan versions and the whole thing is excellently implemented. At first you don't think about it when you enter the restaurant, but the food is really wonderful, well the prices are still affordable. I'll go to Grandma's kitchen nearby from Wiehre train station to eat there again.

Das Essen und der Service waren einwandfrei. Die Lautstärke war extrem, da es ein großer Raum ist. Deshalb ein Stern weniger.

Durch Zufall entdeckt. Wir wurden im einmaligen Ambiente sehr freundlich bedient. Das Essen war lecker und mit dem "Burn a Brettle Tischgrill" mal was außergewöhnliches. Zwar nicht ganz umsonst aber die Steaks waren perfekt auf dem gewünschten Gargrad, die Beilagen waren auch frisch zubereitet.

Leckeres Essen und einer der wenigen Läden, die deutsche Küche mit veganen Optionen anbietet. Ich hatte das vegane badische Dreierlei und kann es in jedem Fall weiterempfehlen.

Steak war schlecht. Fleisch hart und kalt, Butter ohne Geschmack, Kartoffeln angebrannt. Bei 30€ erwarte ich schon was ganz besonderes! Es war einfach nur ungenießbar. Wurstsalat Teller sollte eigentlich Bratkartoffeln mit Beilage Wurstsalat heißen. Die Leber war Ausgezeichnet. Die Teller kamen kleckerweise und nicht alle zusammen, sowas darf nicht passieren, schon gar nicht wenn man mit Kinder unterwegs ist. Und das warten war auch eeeeeewig und es hat sich wirklich NICHT gelohnt.

Flammenkuchen war hervorragend. Das Steak war auch grandios. Das warten auf das Hauptgericht dauerte etwas zu lang.

Alles Gut, ausser wenn es voll ist versteht man fast sein eigenes Wort nicht mehr...

If you are looking for classic German food that is local, seasonal and super delicious, this is the spot. Omas Küche is a staple on Freiburg. My mom ate here when she was a student and this restaurant aged well without losing its roots. Especially in autumn this place has the most delicious venison dishes.

Oma's Küche liegt sehr ruhig und wir konnten draußen sitzen, die Reservierung war für drinnen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und wir wurden vom Service gut beraten. Als Düsseldorfer empfanden wir die Preise als sehr angenehm.

Der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen und die Getränke waren ausnahmslos gut und üppig.
