El Puente Mexikanisches Restaurant Oberammergau in Oberammergau

We were in town for a week and tried going on three separate occasions but they were always closed. Different opening hours on Google, their website and even on the front door, so I'm still not sure what they actually are.

Delicious, fast, polite. Everything was perfect.

We were on vacation in Oberammergau and spontaneously stopped by a Mexican restaurant. It was a wonderful, thoroughly enjoyable evening with excellent food, authentic decor, and attentive service. Even though it was very busy, we felt comfortable. Thank you!

Food was microwaved. Burrito with raw dough and ground meat, bordering on edible. Stomach ache all night.

Average. The sandwiches are good, and the service is up to par (the place wasn't very crowded, so orders were small). I'd go back for a quick, no-frills meal.

Super delicious food. Friendly, fast service. A 15-minute wait for the food is really great! I recommend the spare ribs and the coconut kiss.

I was passing through Oberammergau. I popped in spontaneously, and there was a table available for me. I ordered the fajitas con carne and a light beer. Both were served quickly by the friendly staff. The food was delicious, and the light beer was well chilled.

Good Mexican restaurant in the alps :) the food is a bit heavy and greasy but tastes nice overall. Maybe it’s just too heavy for me. Otherwise it’s a good place for a good heavy Mexican style meal.

The food is delicious, but on days when there's a lot of activity in the village and lots of tourists, the waitstaff can get a bit annoying and want a 10% tip, or preferably a bit more. They should understand that on such days, when regulars come, the meals are smaller, and you get the feeling that once your food is gone, you have to make room and no tip will be given. So, after my last visit, I'm a bit disappointed.

Spontan hatten wir für Samstagabend hier reserviert. Als wir ankamen, durften wir uns einen Tisch im Inneren aussuchen. Die Karte kam schnell. Wir entschieden uns für die beiden Cocktails des Abends, Strawberry Margarita und Cuba Libre zu je 7 Euro. Bei letzterem bat ich um weniger Eis. Es waren dennoch ca. 8 Würfel, die ich dann direkt rausfischte. Vom Inhalt her waren sie überzeugend und nicht zu dünn. Ich hatte explizit eine Flasche stilles Wasser bestellt und erhielt eine 1l Karaffe Leitungswasser zu 6,50 Euro. Hatte also diese Sitte auch hier schon Einzug gehalten. Eine Vorwarnung halte ich dennoch für angemessen. Danach sollte es für mich die Platte Yucatan (19,20 Euro) sein. Dabei handelte es sich um eine Enchilada mit Hähnchen und Käse, eine mit Gemüse und Käse sowie ein Burrito mit Hackfleisch, Käse und Mais sowie Reis als Beilage. Die Essen kamen nach weniger als 15 Minuten und waren leider nur lauwarm Die Enchiladas waren sehr klein. Die Soßen waren zwar gut gewürzt, aber das Essen überzeugte mich insgesamt nicht. Die kleine Chilischote und die Chiliringe ignorierte ich. Auf der Dessertkarte hatte ich einen mexikanischen Kaiserschmarrn (12 Euro) gesehen, den ich als leidenschaftlicher Fan der Süßspeise natürlich unbedingt probieren musste, obwohl mir mein Mann abriet. Das Gericht ließ nicht lang auf sich warten. Laut Karte kommt er mit Zwetschgenröster und wird mit Zimttequila flambiert. Als wir die Zwetschgen vermissten, wurden wir darauf hingewiesen, dass es deshalb das Eis dazu gibt. Ok, ein selbständiger Hinweis wäre nicht schlecht gewesen. Der Schmarrn selber schmeckte extrem nach Butter, so dass ich nicht viel essen konnte. Den Zimt und ein etwaiges Karamellisieren nahm ich nicht wahr. Der Service war nicht wirklich aufmerksam, so mussten wir uns mehrfach bemerkbar machen.

El Puente impresses with a great overall package. The service is attentive and friendly, the cocktails are excellently mixed, and the ambiance is harmonious – you immediately feel at home. The food, however, was a bit of a letdown. The burritos mixtos and enchiladas con pollo came with a tomato and herb sauce that was more reminiscent of Italian cuisine and lacked the typical Mexican character. In my opinion, a classic salsa would have been much more appropriate. A successful visit, where the drinks, atmosphere, and service were particularly impressive – the food still has some room for improvement in terms of authenticity and seasoning.

Top-notch restaurant – the food was excellent. The service was friendly but visibly overworked (not overwhelmed!) when we were there. Due to a staff shortage, as it became clear during our conversation. Nevertheless, they were pleasant and friendly, and our special requests were well catered for. We were full and satisfied!

Took El toro steak. Excellent piece of meat for the price. Of course I have had a more tender piece of meat but then the price was also double. It was cooked exactly, medium, as ordered. Lovely music made the atmosphere. Very friendly staff.

Comida deliciosa! We have eaten chili con carne like never before. It was a simple meal but very tastefull. We didn’t order a appetizer and couldn’t eat a dessert, and that’s not a complaint. A vew days later we ate fajitas. Also delicious! Both times we took as dessert an espresso. Loved it! The ambiance is cozy and the waiters very kind. We will come back.

For many years I have been visiting your restaurant every time I am in Oberammergau and enjoy the delicious food.

El Puente is always an alternative to good middle-class food. I have known the restaurant from its opening until today. The food is really great and tasty, the service is on point, friendly and accommodating. Ambience on top Mexican. So actually only positive things to report. What bothers me a bit is that the prices are getting more and more expensive every year, my beloved wings and ribs have completely disappeared, but that was certainly due to the pricing, as the price/performance ratio was no longer right. Likewise the steaks. And we always liked the happy hour, which still exists, but with only 2 cocktails per weekday included. Margaritas or cocktails with coconut are not for everyone. And the ones you like to drink cost correspondingly more. It's a shame, it's completely out of the program for me and my wife. And the music is Mexican, but too loud for my taste if you sit under the speaker, but you can still have a conversation. But it's still a change.

Tonight the food was very good again and the service was exceptionally friendly, courteous and competent! The atmosphere is very harmonious and inviting. You feel very comfortable in this very nice Mexican restaurant! The chicken wings, wings and rips and P. Yucatan also taste particularly good. Particular emphasis must also be placed on the cocktails that taste excellent, such as the Strawberry Margarita. We can definitely recommend the restaurant and will come back soon!

That said, we still had a really nice time. The atmosphere was fun, the service was solid, and it ended up being a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal with colleagues. Just go in knowing that it’s “Mexican-inspired” rather than authentically Mexican. Bottom Line: El Puente serves good-quality food with a European-Mexican fusion twist. It’s not traditional Mexican by global standards, but it’s a fun, friendly spot—especially for groups. Worth checking out, just temper your expectations if you’re a purist.

Very nice Mexican restaurant. Very pleasant atmosphere. The service was quick and friendly. The menu offers familiar dishes as well as unexpected ones. Everything was very good. Toilets bright and clean. There are few parking spaces in front of the door, but more in the surrounding area.

A real Mexican with a Bavarian heart! Very friendly service with personal approach and great friendliness. The nachos with a cheese variation in between, I've had much worse. And the clever “hot lid” solution when preparing your own corn flatbreads! Everything was consistent and the most important thing: we felt welcome and comfortable!

Only eatery open in town on a Saturday night after 9 pm. The pollo enchiladas tasted like a frozen supermarket meal. Not great but not terrible, either. At least there could have been more salad with them. Service was friendly.

Rarely have Mexican food been so good. The meat is tender as butter, the fries/potato wedges are crispy, the cocktails are delicious. The service is particularly noteworthy. Always a charming smile, combined with an attentive look at the guests and fast service. That and nothing else was a perfect service. If I didn't live in Franconia, this would probably be my favorite restaurant. Keep it up.
