So, the first experience of racism in Germany. We requested to be seated facing the village square, just so we could experience the atmosphere. We were then told we could sit by the side, as there were no tables available, by one server. After being seated there for about five minutes, another server comes up to us and tells us they’re no longer serving that side of the restaurant as it’s closed. We then walk back to the side facing the village square and a couple occupying a table is about to leave. We request the previous server if we could be seated there. She responds, rather condescendingly, “is that the only table you can eat your food at and not any other??”. I reply letting her know that her colleague mentioned the other section is closed, to which she expresses surprise. Guess these folks haven’t seen colored folks before and there’s no way she would’ve treated white folks like this. She was pretty much smiling at the rest of the other white folks around (FYi- we were the only people of color at the restaurant!!). Guess racism is alive and kicking here! We walked out, as this restaurant wasn’t going to be a beneficiary of our dime!!

Super leckeres Essen mit ordentlichen Portionen. Sehr aufmerksames und überaus freundliches Personal. Hatte für unseren 2. Abend gebeten eine Kerze zum Essen auf den Tisch zu stellen,da unsere Tochter Geburtstag hatte.Der Tisch war so liebevoll dekoriert mit Blumen Tischdecke und Kerzen,sogar ein Luftballon mit Happy Birthday hing an der Wand. Insgesamt alles perfekt. Vom Chef gab es sogar noch ein Schäpschen für uns. Wir empfehlen sehr gerne und kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Per quanto mi riguarda non metterei neanche 1 su 5 se non fosse che la zuppa di goulash di mio marito era decente il mio piatto descritto come carpaccio di carne era invece una bresaola non condita e asciutta ho richiesto per ben due volte inutilmente del burro per ingentilire il piatto insulso dove l insalata ( unica cosa che ho potuto mangiare aveva sopra uno spruzzo infinitesimale di dressing ) neanche olio a tavola insomma un orrore di cibo che non calava da quanto era asciutto . abbandonati a noi stessi ci siamo alzati indignati e delusi senza avere potuto finire il piatto !!! Il personale se ne è completamente infischiato !!! Conclusione : in questo posto il cliente non è un bene da coltivare !! Mah !

Small portions of meat for too much money, you don't feel comfortable in the restaurant.

Food was great even if it was quite expensive. The service was friendly. Recommendation is the potato and cucumber salad, it tastes so delicious.

Messed up both of our orders. Wait staff was rude and refused to assist with the issue, claiming the kitchen was closed. When I went in to pay, the kitchen was still open. The service also felt a little rude towards us, but not other patrons. As English tourists, this was very offputting.

Sensational service, we got a seat despite the full house, and everyone was very friendly. Gladly again and again.

Ein sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant. Geschmackvolles und qualitativ hochwertiges Essen, nette Restaurantstuben und sehr feundliches Personal. Ein toller Service des Chefs, da mein Mann körperlich beeinträchtig war: Da es abends in Oberammergau keinen Taxibetrieb gibt, wurden wir nach dem Essen schnell in unser Hotel gefahren, einmal sogar vom Chef persönlich. Auf diesem Weg möchten wir uns nochmals dafür bedanken.

We looked in the heated winter garden and really enjoyed it. Everything in the restaurant itself was reserved. The waitresses were very friendly and the food was very good. We chose the restaurant based on the good reviews and were very satisfied. If we come to Oberammergau three times, we will stop there again.

Goulash soup and cheese soup were excellent! For dessert, apple strudel - extremely fresh berries that actually tasted like berries! Wonderful, clear recommendation!

We were only there to eat. We tried the buffet because relatives were staying at the hotel. Food is average, but ambience is very nice. Before you go out to eat there, you should know that it is a dog hotel and therefore there can be a lot of dogs in the restaurant.

Stayed here a week. Staff is wonderful. Food is amazing. Recommend the venison with a Dunkle beer.

Unfortunately the food is subpar. Schnitzel with fries, Both poorly fried, dripping with fat and tasting slightly rancid. Seasoning salt (= flavor enhancer) was felt by both. Schnitzel much too thick with sinew to spare.

Extremely great Bavarian restaurant with fair prices. We stayed in another accommodation in Oberammergau and ate at the Hotel Wolf in the evening. The service was very friendly and the schnitzel tasted great.

Great restaurant. The food was traditional and delicious. We had the pork knuckle and the wiener schnitzel, which were great. We loved the apple strudel too! Family friendly as well.

The best salad I've had in a while! I highly recommend a large salad from the menu. Very nicely orchestrated with lots of ingredients including different greens, sun dried tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, cabbage, cucumber, radish, carrots and even small stuffed with cheese marinated peppers. Lots of flavor and colors. Super delicious. Service was great and welcoming 😍

The burger was amazing. The cheese noodles were homemade and absolutely delicious. The children's plates were also well designed and tasty. The service was very friendly and always there quickly when you needed something. We called and got a table straight away. Now about the prices, I would say they are OK for the area when you take into account the VAT increase. Even feedback is welcome, as a thank you I was given a coffee. We would love to come back here. Thanks for the good service

Das Essen war durch die Bank super. Wir hatten die Weihnachtsgans, die Schweinshaxe und das Hirsch-Gulasch, alles prima. Das Personal war wirklich sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Definitiv empfehlenswert.

Very nice restaurant with cozy atmosphere. The portions are big and reasonable prices. We tried the cheese soup and schnitzel and another plate that it was like Mac and cheese! I recommend it!

We had dinner there 3 times. All the food we ate was very delicious. The cheese soup was extraordinary. What was served with the meal was also delicious. The large Bavarian meal was very filling.

Wir sind aus der Not und von Hunger getrieben im Restaurant des Hotel Wolf gelandet - Bevor wir uns entschieden haben, haben wir die Bewertungen oberflächlich gecheckt - ab einer Bewertung von 4,5 macht man in der Regel nichts falsch. Diese Regel müssen wir nach unserem Besuch leider gründlich überdenken. Meine Vorspeise - eine Gulaschsuppe - war okay. Gulaschsuppe schmeckt aber auch irgendwie immer einigermaßen. Als Hauptspeise hatten wir ein Wiener Schnitzel + Beilagensalat und kalbsfleischküchle mit Pfifferlingen und Kartoffel-Vogerlsalat. Letzteres Gericht war eine einzige Masse - die Komponenten waren schwer auseinander zu halten - das hat nicht nur unappetitlich ausgesehen, sondern hat auch dafür gesorgt, dass das Fleisch den Salat zu stark erwärmt hat. Im Kartoffel Vogerl (=Feldsalat) war kein Feldsalat zu finden. Die Fleischküchlein waren von Gummi-artiger Konsistenz. Der Beilagensalat hatte braune Stellen und war mit dickflüssigen Fertig-Dressing benetzt. Das Fleisch des Wiener Schnitzels war zwar zart, die Panade war eines Wiener Schnitzels nicht würdig - für 26,50€ erst recht nicht - die Panade war in keinster weise souffliert und null knusprig - Panade war mit Fett voll gesaugt (fett zu kalt ?) Das hört und liest sich alles kleinlich - aber bei 26,50€ für das Schnitzel (exklusive Salat)erwarte ich etwas anderes. Und mit der Lage kann man nicht auf den Preis argumentieren, denn wir haben im selben Zeitraum und in der Nähe traumhafte Schnitzel zum gleichen Preis bekommen :-) Fazit: Kein totaler Reinfall, aber es ist einfach ärgerlich, wenn man weiß, dass man für ähnliches Geld in anderen Restaurants der Region Essen bekommt, in das wirklich Liebe gesteckt wird. Es scheint, als wäre der Laden auf die maximale Effizienz zur Bewirtung von Touristen ausgelegt - Gäste, die die Kulinarik des Landes oder der Region nicht kennen oder die einfach als einmalige Gäste abgestempelt werden ohne Aussicht auf einen Zweitbesuch.

Leckeres Essen. Ich hatte Käsespätzle. Freundliche Bedienung. Wer Probleme mit Hunden hat ....es ist ein Hundehotel....aber für mich absolut kein Problem. Ich würde wieder kommen.

Rustikales, typisch bayerisches Restaurant mit rustikalem, aber dennoch modernem Abiente. Hauptgerichte ca. ab 18 Euro, Fleisch, Fisch und vegetarische Auswahl, ordentliche Portionen. Freundlicher Service, geschmacklich gut, gleichwohl für uns nicht das top Haus dieser Art im Ort. Daher 4 von 5 Sternen.

Essen war super lecker und ging echt zügig. Die Kasspatzn sind definitiv die besten im Dorf und auf Sonderwünsche geht der Gastgeber zuvorkommend ein, vielen Dank! Wir kommen gerne wieder vorbei, wenn wir in der Nähe sind! Wichtig ist jedoch vorher zu reservieren (am besten schon am Vortag), da man sonst nicht spontan einen Tisch kriegt, was auch nur für Qualität spricht.

Gutes bayerisches Lokal mit großen Portionen. Wir aßen ein Schweineschnitzel sowie einen Krustenbraten und als Vorspeise eine Leberknödelsuppe. Die Gerichte waren sehr lecker. Preislich war es etwas teuer, aber dafür waren die Portionen sehr groß. Der Service war freundlich und das Ambiente typisch traditionell. Es ist zu bemerken, dass es ein Hundehotel ist und dementsprechend vermehrt Hunde zu Gast sind. Uns hat das keineswegs gestört.

Étant déjà allé dans ce restaurant je décide d'y retourner avec ma fille car la cuisine est bonne. Nous arrivons à 20h . On nous prend tout de suite la commande et nous sommes servis dans la foulée . Nous désirons un dessert et appelons la serveuse qui ne se montre plus . Nous lui demandons la carte des desserts, et là, oh surprise, elle nous dit: " non c trop tard la cuisine est fermée". Il n'était pas 21h. Je trouve très incorrect d'accepter des clients " vite fait" sans prévenir qu'il n'est pas possible de prendre un dessert. Car nous y allions surtout pour leur "apfelstrudel". Très déçue 😞

Ate at this place tonight. I ordered the venison ragout with mushrooms, cold-stirred cranberries, and a bread dumpling. Very delicious meal, very hearty. I also got the chocolate cake for dessert with walnut ice cream and berries. A great way to end the meal.
