Fantastic food and quality. The shank is incredible.

It was okay, but nothing special. The service was a bit inattentive.

Unfortunately the pork knuckle was sold out but the roasted pork and potatoes were delicious.

It's a dog hotel with attached training halls. Many seminars have been held here. The 5-star rating is well deserved. We were thrilled. It was the best hotel we've ever visited. Everything was excellent, from the room to the food. The staff was always friendly, helpful, courteous, and attentive.

Finally a proper crispy pork in Germany. Full portion is of course too much as it is suppose to be.

Ate here last year when we visited. It was really nice. Went back this year. First of all we were told we had to sit outside because inside was reserved for guests staying at the hotel. Our waitress was very cold, felt like we were imposing. Food was good but mosquitos and flies everywhere. I was just disappointed because we had such a good experience last year.

Amazing food, relaxing environment

The first time we were here, we had roast beef with onions and venison ragout. With the ragout, I have to say that one bread dumpling was too small for the amount of meat. Apart from that, everything was perfect and tasted excellent. The second time, however, was a disappointment for us. We called ahead and ordered for pickup. We ordered two roast beef with onions, but instead of fried potatoes, they wanted fries. This was confirmed to us several times over the phone. When we unpacked it at home, we discovered that we had unfortunately received fried potatoes. And there was hardly any fried onions to be seen. Instead, there was a pile of fried onions, which unfortunately didn't taste as good.

The food tasted okay. But unfortunately, about an hour after eating there, I got severe stomach cramps that lasted for several hours. I also felt really sick and almost threw up several times. And I don't have any intolerances, so there must have been something wrong with the food.

Unfortunately, we experienced very unfriendly service. A slim older lady first asked us to leave, even though there was no reserved sign. Later, she refused to provide us with matches or a lighter in an equally unfriendly manner, saying, "We don't have any!" When asked about it, she suddenly had to go to the bathroom urgently. Very unprofessional. The food was excellent, and all the other service staff were very friendly and attentive. It's a shame that someone doesn't enjoy their work and sets an example for their colleagues.

Excellent quality food, traditional Bavarian, well presented and rapidly served by professional staff

The Hotel Wolf was the fifth culinary stop during our week in Oberammergau – and by far the best. Due to the heavy rain, we quickly moved on to the nearest restaurant. True to the motto: Something will surely appeal to us. After our first four mediocre experiences in Oberammergau, our expectations weren't too high. But we were very pleasantly surprised! The ambiance is typical of a Bavarian inn – as expected. We were greeted by a friendly and extremely professional waitress and assigned a nice table in the corner. The selection ranges from Bavarian standards to creative and delicious vegetarian dishes (recommendation: dumpling trios!). We had four completely different dishes, and all were excellent. We ordered the steak medium-rare and it was cooked that way. Unfortunately, that's rare. Prices are reasonable, considering the value – very good. A clear recommendation!

Great house, clean despite the many dogs. First-class facilities, especially for our four-legged friends. Very friendly staff. The half-board food is more than adequate, and the kitchen is excellent.

We ate a delicious pork knuckle, crispy in beer sauce. Great side dishes, including a delicious coleslaw. We were stuffed (we even had it wrapped up) and the service was excellent.

Two adults ate here late on a Wednesday afternoon in early May and thought it was OK but not up to the good reviews on this site. We ordered the Wurstsalat with cheese meal but were dismayed that it was a cold meal. There was no indication of this on the menu and our waitress did not say anything. The meal was Ok but not great and was mostly the wurst slices which were good but too much meat and not enough side dishes. The total for the 2 meals plus small coffees was 34 € less tip. Also, it turns out that we were there before the evening meals were being prepared. Again, no indication that if we had waited a few minutes we could have ordered from the more extensive evening menu and been much happier customers.

The food was excellent. We had the special Asparagus and veal Schnitzel and the small salad and it was all good and enough for 2. The salad was fresh and very tasty. The white asparagus was huge. Like a foot long and 3/4 inch in diameter. It was very tasty and tender. Would recommend to anyone.

A beautiful menu (even for vegetarians), seasonal dishes (a whole range of dishes on the theme of asparagus) beautifully served, very well cooked and very generous. The service is friendly and the setting is typical and welcoming.

Very tasty dishes, especially the pork knuckle. Normal prices for Germany. There is a children's menu with dishes for 5-10 euros each. We paid 130 euros for 5 dishes for adults. They couldn't eat the whole shank so big.

Das Restaurant war gemütlich eingerichtet und das Personal sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Leider war das Essen enttäuschend. Wir hatten den Krustenbraten, der keine knusprige, sondern nur eine matschige Kruste besaß . Das Fleisch war trocken und viel zu fest für einen Braten. Die Soße war leider viel zu flüssig. Die Käsesuppe vorweg war ok.

Nice and delicious bavarian food. Everything from main courses to side dishes was meticulously prepared and tasty. They have a special menu for kids too.

Top hotel, dogs are really welcome here and not just tolerated. We have already reserved for 2026

I can highly recommend this place for a cozy dinner. I had a starter (small sandwiches with spreads and carpaccio) and goulash (ragout), all were super tasty and fresh . Portions are very generous. Vegetarian options are available. The staff is very nice and professional.

The food was top notch! No super long waiting times, top conditions and a great atmosphere! The crust on the roast and the knuckle (note: it's really big) was exactly as it should be, nicely cross! There was also absolutely nothing to complain about with the schnitzel and the game goulash. We'll definitely be back!

Während unseres Urlaubs haben wir zweimal das Restaurant besucht. Eine gemütliche Atmosphäre erwartet einen im Innenbereich. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und höflich. Die Speisen werden liebevoll angerichtet und schmecken sehr lecker. Unbedingt einen Tisch reservieren! Gerne kommen wir wieder.

The schnitzel with mushrooms was very tasty. The service was polite, but seemed a bit annoyed when asked about the menu. Overall, a pleasant visit with good food.

Went to their party in the hall on New Year's Eve. It was a successful celebration with a very good buffet and attentive conditions. Thank you also for the uncomplicated reimbursement of the sick person Maybe visit the hotel with your dog

WOW! The quality of the food presented, the size of the portions and the friendly, helpful service, made this a superb lunch on our visit to Oberammergau. The portions here were the largest we experienced on our Bavarian holiday, the portion size did not equate with a drop in quality, all the meats, vegetables and potatoes/chips that we were served were all excellent; one of the best meals I have ever had!

Very nice restaurant with cozy atmosphere. The portions are big and reasonable prices. We tried the cheese soup and schnitzel and another plate that it was like Mac and cheese! I recommend it! Especially cheese soup!!!!

Very happy with everything. What must be emphasized is the completely unproblematic way of taking our dog to a restaurant. Dog is a guest.

Very cozy, rustic and traditional inn where man's best friend is warmly welcomed. The food is home-style and very tasty. The cheese soup in particular was a highlight.

Wow. The pork shank is delicious and its size. A super refreshing salad. However, I would add a few pieces of bread to it because I didn't like the added ball. Good beer. Parking close. The carpaccio appetizer was quite good. A bit too salty and too expensive.

We ate in the restaurant several times during our stay in Oberammergau. The restaurant is very cozy, the service is very relaxed, friendly and attentive. We had a dog with us, and there are bowls with water for the dogs at several corners in the restaurant area. The meal was excellent. Best roast pork I had during my week's stay. It was chanterelle season and the chanterelle soup was so good that I wanted to come back to eat it again.

Pork knuckle here was always great choice for me. I tried both full portion and a half. I need to say that smaller portion should be enough for most of people. The beer sauce is excellent for that meat. Service is nice and really quick.

Rude and racist staff. We were the only people of color there and one of the servers was extremely rude and condescending. Took our money and went across to the restaurant bang across where the servers were so much nicer! Avoid, especially if you’re a person of color!!

Average food (cheese spaetzle, roast pork), nice service

So, the first experience of racism in Germany. We requested to be seated facing the village square, just so we could experience the atmosphere. We were then told we could sit by the side, as there were no tables available, by one server. After being seated there for about five minutes, another server comes up to us and tells us they’re no longer serving that side of the restaurant as it’s closed. We then walk back to the side facing the village square and a couple occupying a table is about to leave. We request the previous server if we could be seated there. She responds, rather condescendingly, “is that the only table you can eat your food at and not any other??”. I reply letting her know that her colleague mentioned the other section is closed, to which she expresses surprise. Guess these folks haven’t seen colored folks before and there’s no way she would’ve treated white folks like this. She was pretty much smiling at the rest of the other white folks around (FYi- we were the only people of color at the restaurant!!). Guess racism is alive and kicking here! We walked out, as this restaurant wasn’t going to be a beneficiary of our dime!!

Super leckeres Essen mit ordentlichen Portionen. Sehr aufmerksames und überaus freundliches Personal. Hatte für unseren 2. Abend gebeten eine Kerze zum Essen auf den Tisch zu stellen,da unsere Tochter Geburtstag hatte.Der Tisch war so liebevoll dekoriert mit Blumen Tischdecke und Kerzen,sogar ein Luftballon mit Happy Birthday hing an der Wand. Insgesamt alles perfekt. Vom Chef gab es sogar noch ein Schäpschen für uns. Wir empfehlen sehr gerne und kommen sehr gerne wieder.

I was around 13 today 30 year old there, got the normal menu, wasn't served until 2 p.m., then an unfriendly waitress came, I wanted to order, the card was taken away from me and the small card was given to me, that's not how it works, I left straight away, definitely won't come back, an absolute impudence, Ulli Müller Tutzing

Per quanto mi riguarda non metterei neanche 1 su 5 se non fosse che la zuppa di goulash di mio marito era decente il mio piatto descritto come carpaccio di carne era invece una bresaola non condita e asciutta ho richiesto per ben due volte inutilmente del burro per ingentilire il piatto insulso dove l insalata ( unica cosa che ho potuto mangiare aveva sopra uno spruzzo infinitesimale di dressing ) neanche olio a tavola insomma un orrore di cibo che non calava da quanto era asciutto . abbandonati a noi stessi ci siamo alzati indignati e delusi senza avere potuto finire il piatto !!! Il personale se ne è completamente infischiato !!! Conclusione : in questo posto il cliente non è un bene da coltivare !! Mah !

Small portions of meat for too much money, you don't feel comfortable in the restaurant.

Food was great even if it was quite expensive. The service was friendly. Recommendation is the potato and cucumber salad, it tastes so delicious.

Messed up both of our orders. Wait staff was rude and refused to assist with the issue, claiming the kitchen was closed. When I went in to pay, the kitchen was still open. The service also felt a little rude towards us, but not other patrons. As English tourists, this was very offputting.

Sensational service, we got a seat despite the full house, and everyone was very friendly. Gladly again and again.

Ein sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant. Geschmackvolles und qualitativ hochwertiges Essen, nette Restaurantstuben und sehr feundliches Personal. Ein toller Service des Chefs, da mein Mann körperlich beeinträchtig war: Da es abends in Oberammergau keinen Taxibetrieb gibt, wurden wir nach dem Essen schnell in unser Hotel gefahren, einmal sogar vom Chef persönlich. Auf diesem Weg möchten wir uns nochmals dafür bedanken.

We looked in the heated winter garden and really enjoyed it. Everything in the restaurant itself was reserved. The waitresses were very friendly and the food was very good. We chose the restaurant based on the good reviews and were very satisfied. If we come to Oberammergau three times, we will stop there again.

Goulash soup and cheese soup were excellent! For dessert, apple strudel - extremely fresh berries that actually tasted like berries! Wonderful, clear recommendation!

We were only there to eat. We tried the buffet because relatives were staying at the hotel. Food is average, but ambience is very nice. Before you go out to eat there, you should know that it is a dog hotel and therefore there can be a lot of dogs in the restaurant.

Stayed here a week. Staff is wonderful. Food is amazing. Recommend the venison with a Dunkle beer.

Unfortunately the food is subpar. Schnitzel with fries, Both poorly fried, dripping with fat and tasting slightly rancid. Seasoning salt (= flavor enhancer) was felt by both. Schnitzel much too thick with sinew to spare.

Extremely great Bavarian restaurant with fair prices. We stayed in another accommodation in Oberammergau and ate at the Hotel Wolf in the evening. The service was very friendly and the schnitzel tasted great.

The best salad I've had in a while! I highly recommend a large salad from the menu. Very nicely orchestrated with lots of ingredients including different greens, sun dried tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, cabbage, cucumber, radish, carrots and even small stuffed with cheese marinated peppers. Lots of flavor and colors. Super delicious. Service was great and welcoming 😍
