Perfect and the ribs are very tasty. Good hospitality from a real American

They have the best ribbs you can ever eat. The staff is the best and kindest I have ever met in any restaurant. The place has a verry good atmosphere. Would recommend 100%.

Very good food and very friendly chef Timothy. We are from Belgium and have eaten the best ribs ever. We very recommand this restaurant!

The food tasted so good that we ate there again the next day. I have never tasted such delicious spare ribs. The Loaded Chicken is also recommended. You have to get involved in the restaurant with its special charm. Then you have a lot of fun.

NOT RECOMMENDABLE So I don't know where all the good reviews come from!!? We had to wait 2.5 hours for our food. The cook was always outside or I don't know where, but he didn't make the food. The burgers were burnt, the buns were dry and carelessly placed on the plate. The turkey steak was dry like it was a day old and the Black Angus steak was a complete disaster. There were only two tables occupied (8 people and 4 people)! We don't want to comment on the ambience because the restaurant needs to be closed and properly renovated! NOT RECOMMENDABLE!!

You have to like it!! Iconic pub with a rustic owner. We had a perfect evening. Even if the tables weren't really clean - the atmosphere was still great. Service sometimes took a while - but we weren't on the run. Not for “fine” people. More like “types” of all genders.

If I could get more stars back, it would be fine. In an empty restaurant (approx. 2 guests, 4 employees, including their children, I think?), my partner and I were completely left standing. People looked at us crookedly and walked past us. At some point we asked politely if we could sit down, which was only followed by a “yes” looking away. So we sat down. After 20 minutes without a menu and the staff constantly standing around, we decided to leave. Another restaurant has now received my positive feedback :)

... I came late... and still got something to eat!!! Specifically, the food was on the table at 11 p.m.! Respect! ...that's what I call hospitality! ... and there was a free live jam session 👍👍👍 ... yes, the clinic is cleaner... yes, there are more charming waitresses... .... but get involved in the shop... recognize the charm... be open... then your visit here will be an experience with a live jam session... ❤️❤️❤️

Absolut best Ribs you can eat anywhere. Go and try them you can't do anything wrong. The prices are also very low. Beware of the size! The big rib dinner is huge! The atmosphere is also very nice and the owner is incredible nice and friendly. If someone says otherwise they are fools.

Best Spareribs I have ever had. Anyone who says something different got no idea of what good food is. Been to multiple locations for spare ribs never had better ones. The service personell is awesome. They are very nice and welcoming. The atmosphere is chilled and relax with 80s music.

The bar was disgusting, prices are expensive, and the owner was rude.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Owner is nice but was under drugs or heavily intoxicated. After waiting for more than an hour (even though the store was empty) we left.

We had AJs birthday karaoke here whilst in Oberammergau. Tim is hilarious and is definitely on Tim time. Don't expect fast service, but do expect his stories, atmosphere, and for everyone, including Tim, to get up and join in the karaoke 🎤😊

Well that was quite something... Quite a disappointment. We were all excited about having some nice American food at this very Bavarian looking place, but it all went wrong. We got nothing, except for sticky arms from the table where we sat. We were ignored on the way in, while we sat there (which should have been awesome and fun, inside that carved out barrel) and even when we tried to get some attention from the staff, there was nothing. The whole place was kind of dead anyway, there was no smell of food, and in the end, as sticky as our table was, I would not have trusted the kitchens any more. After 20 minutes we left, hungry, sticky and disappointed.

Quite an exotic place, I didn't eat, but I drank. The beer was good, and the dishes at the next table looked delicious. In the evening (starting at 9 p.m.) the music was performed as karaoke.

For me, Bemsl's is an absolute "insider tip" for everyone who is looking for a cozy, warm and simply different ambience. In addition to live music and karaoke evenings, what is particularly impressive is the authentic American warmth of the boss and his staff. So if you're looking for a change from pork knuckle, pizza and the like, you'll be rewarded here with excellent, freshly prepared spare ribs, burgers and finger food as well as an inexpensive and skilful selection of cocktails and long drinks. Particularly noteworthy is the effort and flexibility shown by the staff...I would love to come back❤️

Karaoke nights were excellent. The place had a great atmosphere which great interaction amongst people in the establishment. I will definitely return to Bems’l the next time that I am in Oberammergau.

Great food, good value for money, the Friday evening is a great jam session, we've been there three times now and will be back.

Cozy little bar. Patrons seemed like they weren't used to outsiders but it didn't sour the experience at all. Bartender was great.

Super fun place in Oberammergau to hear great live music while hanging out with locals and the friendly owner Tim. We stopped by for a quick beer but liked it so much that we made an evening of it. We’ll definitely be back!

Bems'l is the best spot in Oberaumergau by far! The owner was awesome! Really makes you feel welcomed and appreciates your business. Karaoke on Wednesday's is the place to be. It was truly a good time and great atmosphere. I definitely recommend this place and will definitely come back my next time back.

Essen war sehr lecker und auch frisch (keine TK Ware) das Ambiente ist auf den ersten Blick gewöhnungsbedürftig aber das Personal und die Stammgäste sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alles in allem ein schöner Besuch den wir wiederholen werden.

Selbst an einem Montag Abend bekommt man hier noch 1A Essen serviert. Wir hatten Burger und waren sehr zufrieden. Ein echter Geheimtipp.

Ein Stern Abzug beim Ambiente, zwar sauber und gemütlich, aber etwas verschachtelt und nicht sonderlich einladend. Umso besser sind dafür das Essen und der Service. Die Burger sind mega lecker, kross gebackenes Brötchen und das Hackfleisch auch super, die Pommes top gewürzt und man wird zuvorkommend bedient. Preise stimmen auch. Empfehlung, wenn man amerikanisches Essen mag.

The ribs were super flavorful! The meat was juicy and the flavor was amazing and not too salty. The dining room is decorated in a vintage style and has a pumpkin wagon like dining area. The bathroom also had colorful spotlights. There was also a pool table in the dining room. What surprised me the most was that the store had karaoke.The staff was also super friendly and invited me to sing a song. I really had so much fun! Highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Von dem Abstecher ins Bems'l weiß ich zwar nicht mehr allzu viel, aber die Live-Musik war einfach nur traumhaft, auch wenn unser Kumbel leider nicht selbsr Hand an eine Gitarre anlegen konnte. Dafür hat er dann, wie alle anderen auch, Hand an einen Tequilashot gelegt - und nach diesem Schluck Lebenselixier ging es dann auch endlich heim. Ein herrlicher Absacker, einwandfrei!

Wir hatten Nachos, Tacos und Spare Ribs, das Essen war durchweg sehr gut. Der Service hervorragend. Wir kommen gerne und sicher wieder. Grüße aus dem Schwarzwald

Quality food with timely and friendly service. I had read previous reviews from the past but found the service to be prompt and very friendly. The chicken strips were real chicken breast and the burgers were lovely. I will return. To follow up in the post, the flavor was surprisingly robust. The chicken strips were just spicy enough and the burger had a great BBQ flavour. 👍

Tolle Leute, sehr gastfreundlich und humorvoll. Bereits beim ersten Besuch wird man wie ein Stammgast begrüßt. Essen war gut auch wenn etwas von der Bestellung abgewichen wurde (andere Sauce). Im Ambiente fehlt die endgültige Entscheidung zwischen US Diner und Bayrischer Bierkneipe, hat aber irgendwie Charme. Der Wirt redet American Deutsch mit hartem Bayern Slang. Lustig, offen und direkt. Gerne wieder!

Der persönliche Kontakt war sehr unkompliziert und sympathisch. Das Essen war perfekt und super lecker. Es ist in dieser Location nicht schwer sich wohl zu fühlen. Bei guter Musik und Gemütlichkeit haben sich amerikanischer Lifestyle und Oberammergauer Gastlichkeit getroffen. Wir können dieses Gasthaus nur empfehlen.

Personal war langsam und überfordert obwohl es leer war. Essen hat ewig gedauert und kam kalt. Geschmack war okay. Keine Weiterempfehlung.

Wir haben während der Pause des Passionsspiels hier gegessen und es war sehr lecker. Es ist gemütlich, die Burger ( es gibt 2 Menüs zur Wahl) schmeckten richtig gut und das Personal war superfreundlich und schnell !

It didn't start well, with an unwashed salad. And then we waited another 45 minutes for the main course. Never knew burgers can take that long. Food tasted well enough. We were on a schedule due to the Passion play but as everything took so long we couldn't eat the desert. But were charged for it. I wouldn't recommend it.

The cook and business runner is Tim. He uses top quality meet and knows how to make a great burger. He is great guy and I eat there whenever I’m in Oberammergau.

Leider können wir die Bar & Grill nicht empfehlen. Dennoch zu Beginn das Positive: Das Bier war sehr lecker, die Bedienung auch recht freundlich. Das war’s leider auch schon… das Ambiente hat uns nicht gefallen, einer Bar aber angemessen. Das Essen war leider gar nicht gut, der Burger war alles andere als lecker… die Soße war ein Witz, das Fleisch war nicht richtig durch und der gesamte Burger recht kalt. Die Ribs hatten aus unserer Sicht nichts mit Ribs zu tun, sehr fettig, keine gute Soße und die „hausgemachten“ Kartoffelecken… eher aus dem Discounter. Im Endeffekt ist es Geschmacksache, allerdings für unser Empfinden absolut keine Empfehlung für Touristen, die nett und gut Essen gehen möchten. Ein paar Schritte weiter gibts richtige Rips, vielleicht sollte der Koch dort mal einen Abstecher machen. Ist ein nett gemeinter Rat, allerdings Geschmacksache ✌️ Trotzdem einen Stern (weil weniger nicht geht) für das Bier und die Bedienung, nächstes mal werden wir dennoch woanders essen.

Waren sehr enttäuscht. Unfreundliches Personal! Rauchen im Vorzimmer zur Küche geht auch gar nicht! Verbrannte Burger aus billig Produkten!

Essen war ausgezeichnet. Chef und Angestellte super freundlich und sehr lustig. Schöner kleiner & gemütlicher Außenbereich. Musik war auch klasse 🤣
