The food was good, but the service always took a long time. No matter whether you wanted to order something or pay for something, it took ages. And if you wanted another dip with your dish that wasn't intended for it, you didn't get it.

Food arrived what felt like 5 minutes after ordering. Cooking with the deep fryer sends greetings. My garlic bread was soggy.

The staff was very unfriendly and couldn't really understand German. Some of the language was spoken in English and the food was fried to death. We got 2 out of 3 orders wrong and waited over an hour for our food even though there really wasn't much going on. Very unfortunate

I had imagined something different under 'Grill House'. A closer look at the menu showed little variety, just the same components in different combinations. Unfortunately, with some of the dishes we tried, we really had to wonder how much 'prepared stuff' was used. Sauces and schnitzels, for example, were certainly not homemade. The salad was cut very carelessly (half of the stalk was attached to an onion). Unfortunately the chicken nuggets (for the child) were left in the deep fryer for too long. The quality of the food was more like that of a fast food restaurant. Charging restaurant prices for this is completely exaggerated. However, the portions were generous and you felt full. Decor on the terrace was nice and the staff was very friendly.

Hello, I would like to share my impressions of our visit to Penelope's Grill House yesterday. To start with the positive, the food was good! The service was not good at all, not to say pathetic. If you can only place your drink order half an hour after entering the location and then you are no longer asked for any further drink requests, that is a service that actually deserves 0 stars! We waited for over an hour for the food, during which time there was a very loud argument between the boss and the staff, which completely ruined the mood, scared our children and greatly irritated the adults. My conclusion is: If you have a lot of time and are not thirsty, you can eat well here. If we go to Fehmarn again, we will stop there again to see whether it was a one-off total failure of the service. So now the interested reader can form his own opinion, I hope he has better experiences.

I was looking forward to visiting this restaurant on my business trip and was unfortunately disappointed. This is about sales and table occupancy. Unfortunately, as a single person, I only occupy one place, and when there are only tables available for four, you feel that here. Service was very slow and in the end they were hardly interested in my money. I told both people present that I wanted to pay, more than once. Having to wait around 20 minutes in such a small shop is absurd. Now I'm free to try all the other restaurants there.

Great restaurant, right next to the market square. Very nice and courteous staff. We had the finger foods for 2, burgers, the XL chicken skewers and rump steak. Everything was delicious and perfectly done. Absolutely recommended, top address

It was our first time eating there and we won't repeat it. The location and ambience are good. The food itself is okay if you get what you ordered. Due to the language deficits of the staff, ordering is a bit difficult. I would recommend always showing the number of the food you want. Wrong beer, wrong fries, baked potato instead of sour cream with herb butter, ketchup forgotten even after repeated requests. The children then went and got some themselves. I would have liked to order a long drink, but the service wasn't particularly attentive and more or less looked away from us. Feel free to take a look for yourself, but I can't recommend this place.

Chip shop disguised as a restaurant. We had three different dishes and each consisted entirely of “convenience” components that were carelessly thrown onto the plate. It's a shame, because the location at the beginning of the shopping street in Burg with a nice, raised terrace is quite nice. The service was routinely friendly.

Really delicious food! Gluten free for our son was no problem at all. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Not cheap in price but high quality. You're happy to pay more 😉🙌 at the end there was something for the children 🍭 we can recommend the restaurant.

We ate there for the first time yesterday. The burgers are super tasty, as are the fries. After complaining about the Aperol Spritz that there wasn't enough Aperol in it, we were given an additional shot of Aperol to top it off. Very friendly, they even wish you a bon appetit. We will definitely come here again to eat.

It was our first time there and we were craving burgers and fries. My wife and I ordered the same burger, but she wanted it without onions. After a while both dishes were put on the table and I asked which burger was the one without onions. “Yes yes, without onions,” said the waitress and disappeared again. After looking through the burgers, we discovered that both burgers had no onions, which we hadn't ordered. And then it becomes noticeable again that the staff seems to be failing because of the language barrier that has been mentioned here several times, unfortunately, it has to be said. Because the food was actually quite tasty. The second round of drinks didn't turn out as ordered either, large cola instead of a small, wrong type of beer. We then skipped dessert because we were afraid that something would go wrong. All in all, the food was okay, but the service could be better. But that is probably simply because people are poorly understood. It's a shame, because that was our only visit during the 14 days of vacation. Otherwise we would definitely have come there a second time.

Pure tourist rip-off I can't understand the positive reviews... Being a guest and feeling like a guest is different. We waited 1.5 hours for food and 15 minutes for a drink, even though only 50% of the seats were occupied. We weren't noticed as guests. We sat down, ordered and that was it, as if we were air. Only one of the staff spoke German, the others spoke moderate English. We sat outside first, it got windy and cold and we made two attempts to get a table inside even though half of it was free. The schnitzels were ready-made products, the “pork fillet” was not, the feta cream was a tasteless mush, the fries were ok, the chicken skewer was well grilled but not seasoned at all. When I asked, I was given a pepper mill. You are not offered ketchup, barbecue sauce or anything similar. Communication with the staff is always difficult. I didn't get a Greek coffee/mocha at 8:20 p.m. either. There's also no drink on the house for the waiting time. The outside terrace is bland, canteen ambience. It's cozy inside, but everything is made of plastic... benches, chairs, wall coverings... and it smells unpleasantly musty/damp. It's a shame, the name promises more Unfortunately we cannot recommend the restaurant. We are not tourists.

The currywurst was good, but the waitress laughing at you because you asked for a non-alcoholic wine is unacceptable. 😡😡

We had scouted the menu and decided to eat here tonight. Unfortunately, it showed you that the man who was supposed to welcome the guests and show them to the table was a rude and rude douchebag. We immediately decided to leave. Can only regret that this restaurant has such bad and incompetent staff.

Update 2024 This time it was a 0 number The fries that I praised last year in 2023 were subpar this time! They were these thin Burger King fries and they were probably in the deep fryer twice, you couldn't open them with a fork. 2 waiters pointed this out and just grinned back happily. Was everything good? No As I said, the fries for 4 people were nothing No apology, no new ones, no drink or anything on the house Here review 2023 First time here. Food was really good and the fries had something... they were fries like me and my granddaughter like The skewers were great and the meat was on point What we didn't like was the service The lady who was there for our table often overlooked us and dealt with work that could have been done AFTER we were served, and the handling of the tray was still unsure We would have liked to drink something more but as I said we weren't paid that much attention There wasn't that much to do and the number of guests was manageable, only two tables outside were occupied due to the weather

Penelope's Grill House is located on Burg's main thoroughfare. Right at a pedestrian traffic light, the horn is often honked because the person in front has missed the green phase again. So take a seat on the terrace by the window or eat inside. We went for lunch and chose M5, 2 pork steaks, fries, salad and feta dip as a drink-Krefelder. The food was great. The pork steaks are buttery soft, fries just right, salad with a really tasty dressing and the feta dip is nice and creamy. The drinks ice cold, as they should be. The portions are generous, a normal eater will definitely be full. Portions/price top. We will definitely eat here again on our next Fehmarn vacation.

We were there with 4 people and 2 of us wanted the vegetarian schnitzel, we got 2 chicken schnitzels and when we spoke to the service person there was a photo of a vegetarian packaging and evasive reactions ("I'll come back soon", suddenly only English was spoken ( he keeps hearing that the vegetarian schnitzel tastes like meat...) and then the waiter/boss didn't come back?! All 4 of us tried the schnitzel and we all determined that it was chicken. (As far as we know, there is no vegetarian schnitzel that is gristly and as fibrous as chicken meat can be...) Mistakes can happen, but I find it very weak to deal with it like that... And morally reprehensible! So we had to pay 17 euros for fries and had the schnitzels packed up for the meat eaters. The location and the ambience are actually very nice and practical, but we won't eat here again on vacation and definitely won't recommend it to others.

I had the burger with chicken, I rated it 3⭐️ because the size of the meat "patties" was very clear, but the mayonnaise portion on the burger was xxl Unfortunately the mayonnaise "smothered" the taste of the burger! Sometimes less is more... -I would get rid of the mayo/ketchup bags, they are very difficult to open and not environmentally friendly -Service and ambience are 5⭐️

Unfortunately I can't give any recommendations for this grill house. Due to language barriers on the part of the staff, the wrong drinks were served at first. The food, schnitzel baked twice in different ways, was subpar. Ready-made schnitzel (even fully cooked) baked in the microwave with cheese. Fries tasted like they had been warmed up. We have never had such a bad meal on the island. It's a shame, but it doesn't work at all

We were here for the first time on our last Fehmarn vacation. We and our little bulldog were greeted very nicely. We ate dishes from the lunch menu at a great price. It was a good portion and tasted very tasty. We will be back definitely. Very nice service and beautifully decorated restaurant, you feel comfortable here.

So, the upholstery of the seating or benches is really not that great anymore, but it doesn't bother you either. The service was friendly and attentive, there's nothing to complain about. However, the food is far from what it promises to be. The meat was not of good quality and/or was prepared incorrectly, it was terribly tough, the taste was not great, positive: no one got diarrhea. Would we go there again? Rather not. The ambience and service can't capture what's missing when you want to eat a good steak and can't get one. There was simply no choice of steaks, there was only one, just prepared differently. The currywurst was in the deep fryer for so long that it was crispy on the outside and crumbling on the inside...

The food is OK, the price/performance ratio is definitely right. The fries wouldn't be in the deep fryer for so long and you could probably make your own salad dressing, but ultimately it's a matter of taste. Service very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is modern and suited my taste.

We had the cheeseburger and the beef skewer and were very impressed with the food. It was delicious and there was plenty on it. The atmosphere here is very harmonious and pleasant. We will be very happy to come back.

So it was really tasty, but it was a very small piece of meat, which bothered me a bit. The restaurant itself was also a bit cramped, but they designed it very nicely and modernly and it's cozy. It wouldn't be nice if it was too crowded, just because it's so small.

Sehr leckere Cheeseburger gegessen als Beilage waren Pommes dabei. Was uns nicht so gut gefiel war das der Ketchup und die Mayonnaise noch extra bezahlt werden musste:-(

Leckeres gut gegrilltes Hähnchen-/-Rind- oder Schweinefleisch mit gut gewürzter Füllung, nett auf dem Teller mit Pommes und Dip serviert, vorweg einen Salat mit geschmackvollen Dressing. Was will man mehr?

Das Restaurant biete ein schönes Ambiente und der Service war sehr nett & zuvorkommend. Das Essen war lecker, mein Mann hatte den Lammteller & ich den Bratwurstspieß. Beides hat geschmeckt, jedoch haben wir beide zu dem Fleisch jeweils x-beliebige Imbisspommes serviert bekommen und dafür finde ich dann den Preis vom Essen generell nicht so gerechtfertigt. An der Qualität war nichts zu bemängeln, allerdings wie gesagt vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis dann etwas teuer dafür, dass man ja im Endeffekt nur Pommes und eine Bratwurst bekommt.

Ein angenehmer Besuch, der Spieß war gut aber sollte es zu einem weiteren Besuch kommen werde ich wohl einen der Burger probieren.

Stühle leider schon sehr abgenutzt. Ich hatte den XL Schweinespieß, mein Mann das gefüllte Schweinesteak das Essen war super. Man sollte die Beilagen eventuell überdenken ( Pommes) vielleicht Steakhouse Pommes, Ofenkartoffeln und ähnliches anbieten.

Ich war mit meiner Mutter vor kurzem dort essen. Von außen sieht es sehr einladend aus. Personal auch sehr freundlich. Wir haben dann 2 Fleischgerichte bestellt. Bei meiner Mutter waren es hähnchenschnitzel paniert , leider fettgebacken (Preis dafür etwas zu viel). Ich hatte gefülltes Hähnchen genommen. Zuerst wurde Schweinefleisch serviert, dann zurück gehen lassen. Als ich dann Hähnchen bekommen hatte und es anschnitt war es innen noch sehr rosa also wieder zurück. Der 3te Anlauf hatte dann geklappt. An sich geschmacklich war es lecker aber für die Fleischportionen und Zubereitung etwas teuer. Außerdem sollte man vllt mal die Bezüge der Stühle überarbeiten, die sehen überhaupt nicht mehr schön aus.

Gemütlich, super Essen und zuvorkommender Service. Mehr geht kaum. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen. Ach ja, und lecker Duckstein!

Wir hatten einen Burger Penelope spezial und das Lammfilet. Beides war einfach genial. Besonders die Kombination von rote Beete und Fetacreme passten prima zum Lamm. Der Burger war saftig und sehr lecker. Zum Abschluss gab es noch einen 'Absacker' aufs Haus. Was will man mehr. 6 von 5 Sternen 😀

Ich hatte den Burger Penélope Spezial und der war sehr lecker! Mein Änderungswunsch (keine Zwiebeln auf dem Burger) war kein Problem und hat auch tatsächlich geklappt! Da mache ich leider häufig andere Erfahrungen. Aufmerksames und freundliches Personal und ein angenehmes Ambiente haben den Abend perfekt gemacht. Wenn wir das nächste Mal auf Fehmarn sind kommen wir gerne wieder!

Hatten die Steakburger, die waren richtig gut! Dazu gab es Pommes, welche leider nur normal und etwas dünn waren. Da wäre es cool gewesen exklusivere Pommes mit evtl ein bisschen Salat zu servieren. Sonst war es echt sehr lecker, gerne nochmal

Wir sind mit zwei Personen zum Abendessen hier gewesen. Das Restaurant ist modern und ansprechend eingerichtet. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und schnell. Auch das Essen kam schnell – und es war sehr lecker! Wir hatten Schweinefilet mit Bacon und Lammfilet, jeweils mit Pommes, und es war super, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Servicepersonal sehr freundlich ! Bei den Burgern wurde auch nicht gespart an Gurken, Zwiebeln oder Käse, von allen genug drauf und im Preis Pommes inbegriffen

Wir sind auf Grund von Empfehlungen, hier eingekehrt und können die Empfehlung sehr gut verstehen. Wir waren absolut begeistert von dem Essen. Es war alles sehr lecker und die Portionen waren auch reichlich. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das dann unser Kellner beim Verlassen des Restaurants, extra an der Tür wartete, um uns diese noch zu öffnen und sich nochmal, sehr freundlich verabschiedet wurde, haben wir in dieser Form, auch noch nie erlebt. Also auch wir werden das Restaurant weiter empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.

Auch hier sehr nettes Personal. Auch ohne Vorbestellung haben wir einen Tisch am Abend bekommen. Besser ist es einen Tisch Reservieren zu lassen.
