We ate there twice, and each time the food was excellent. The quality and quantity definitely justify the price. The service is very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommended and we'd happily return. Dishes included shrimp skewers, pork medallions, and asparagus with schnitzel.

A beautiful, long-established location opposite the harbor. Old wooden floors, anchors and lifebuoys create a seafaring atmosphere. The welcome is warm and friendly, the menu is short and sweet. There are some homemade specialties. I recommend the matjes, which is served with a cream sauce that is refined with tangerines and gherkins. The kitchen is quick, children's meals come to the table even quicker. The dishes are all down-to-earth, unpretentious and simply delicious.

Typical long-established fish restaurant here in the old harbor. I had fish, herring and cod fillet, breaded, fried, a huge portion, a bit too much. Unfortunately everything is only available with fried potatoes. As a starter a garlic soup with shrimp, which was very good.

Great restaurant with great service. Somehow our reservation got lost, but everything was made possible and we were still able to eat there. It was once again excellent and worth repeating. 🫶🏻 Big praise!!!

It was soooo delicious. I also found it amazing that when guests left the table, the blanket was always removed and the table was disinfected. I've never seen anything like this before, except maybe during Corona times. Only recommended. Thanks and keep it up.

Delicious fish dishes served in a friendly manner. We have always had excellent food here. What do we particularly like? The plaice, the cucumber salad and the fish cakes. Oh and the garlic soup.

The service is courteous and leaves nothing to be desired. The food is delicious, but in our opinion overpriced. We only speak for ourselves! We thought for a long time whether we could and should write it. We have euros, and yes we have crazy inflation in all areas, and yes the staff and the costs want to be paid. A lot is made about the drinks. Unfortunately the ambience didn't convince us.

We had the fish platter for two people. The fish platter was plentiful, but you couldn't say anything about the price. The taste was outstanding. The service was very good, so you're happy to tip a little more. Praise to the chef and the waitress.

We went there spontaneously for lunch today. It's great that there is parking there directly for guests. We received a very friendly welcome and were absolutely thrilled at how well our 1-year-old daughter was treated. We were immediately given pens and paper for drawing and lots of other great toys and books were also available there. We didn't have to wait long for our food and we were absolutely thrilled. Well prepared and it really tasted fantastic. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come back! ☺️

Solid kitchen with harbor views. Sometimes you don't need any major experiments, just good, honest food. That's exactly what you get in the restaurant "Zum Goldenen Anker" in Burgstaaken - and a really nice view of the harbor too. We had three different dishes, each with crispy fried potatoes that delivered exactly what you wanted: golden brown on the outside, nice and soft on the inside. On the plate were a breaded pollack fillet, a hearty fish cake and a combination of cod and herring fillets. Everything is properly prepared, fresh and without any fuss - just solid cuisine that leaves you full and satisfied. The food wasn't necessarily spectacular, but there was really nothing to complain about. If you're looking for a cozy spot with a view and fancy classic fish dishes, this is the place for you. Conclusion: The “Golden Anchor” scores with honest cuisine, a friendly atmosphere and a view that makes the food taste a little better.

The food is amazing! Super tasty. And the service is great too. If the weather is good, it's especially nice to sit outside on the terrace. Big plus: well-equipped, new changing table in the men's toilet.

A typical harbor restaurant with older roots. Excellent fish dishes

I've known the anchor for over 40 years now, know all the previous owners, and worked there myself. The fish was well fried, but without SPICES. We used to specifically use Maridor and the like, which is now frowned upon , professionally competent and very friendly. I have to say honestly, we were invited by holiday guests, otherwise we wouldn't have eaten there. And the price structure on Fehmarn is quite debatable, even in Switzerland and Austria there are better restaurants with the same quality for better prices! But the entrepreneurs also have to earn and bear the costs, and you can also have a nice holiday with all my heart!

So great. The food was very tasty 😋 the plaice was super fried and the cod fillet was just very good. The fried potatoes were perfect and the shrimp skewers and aioli were amazing.

Drinks and food were very good. We were there with our 1-year-old daughter and were very positively surprised by how child-friendly and suitable it was. Lots of toys were provided, changing facilities (even with a selection of diapers) were available in both the men's and women's toilets, and the service staff were also great.

Have been visiting the restaurant regularly for more than 25 years. Were always satisfied with the quality and quantity. Unfortunately, the prices here are rising quite high and the portions are also being reduced. The lunch with two very small pieces of fish was puny! Sorry, nothing to get close to full for an adult. Other guests we know confirm this. When serving, the waitress couldn't even distinguish the children's plate from the "normal" one for adults. The photos of the dishes listed on the homepage do not come close to reflecting the actual portions. There is a need for a change to the usual portion here. The nice and friendly service staff is still positive.

We went to this restaurant for dinner 6 evenings. Since I had already reserved a table from where I lived, there were no problems finding a seat. My husband and I felt very comfortable there, nice staff and great service. The food was rich and very tasty. Our dog was also welcome and always received a bowl of water. The pan fish with mustard sauce is great and I can only recommend it. The fish platter with 3 types of game fish with a nice dill sauce was also very tasty. The ambience in the larger rooms does not radiate much coziness, which is probably due to the variation options. Staff very polite and attentive. Prices are between €20 and €30. Price/performance is consistent.

Pissed off. Half portion for 2 euros discount. Senior plate. I'm currently 40 and wanted a children's portion. We were there for the 4th or 5th time 3 weeks ago. When I asked for a children's portion I was offered a senior portion. I have a gastric bypass and can eat a maximum of 200g. OK. It will be something similar. Jägerschnitzel fries. There were 2x Jägerschnitzel as a normal portion. These were 2 schnitzels each, plenty of sauce and a large bowl of fries. My portion was exactly half. 1 instead of 2 schnitzels, sauce, small. Portion of fries. When it came time to pay, I was a little confused. With 1 drink the price seemed quite high to me. I asked if she had accidentally charged me the normal portion size. No. Senior plate. I so.. great. But where exactly is the discount for half the portion? Yes. 2 euros cheaper. Oof. Please? Yes. The senior plate is 2 euros discount. I find that really disgraceful. Why can't you have a say in how much you want to eat and expect a reasonable price for it? Never been so ripped off in other restaurants. In some cases I was able to completely choose what I wanted and it was completely adapted to me. No carbs etc. For great prices. But what? Half portion is only 2 euros cheaper where the normal portion costs around 20.

With three small, loud and sometimes nerve-racking children, we were warmly welcomed without a reservation. The kids were treated incredibly friendly, and every child who came in after us was treated equally. There was something to paint and play with. The service was perfect and friendly without complaint. The food… we didn't want to stop, but we couldn't anymore. The portions were very good and so incredibly tasty. We'll be back!!! And we recommend this restaurant not only but also to families!!!

The restaurant is really good. The location is excellent, the service is good and the food is delicious. Overall it's not cheap, but everything was right and I think the price is justified. In my experience, it's better to make a reservation because it's busy. However, a reservation outside of peak times may not be necessary

It was really nice to eat fish on Fehmarn - so it was a good idea to try out the Goldener Anker. Prominently located at the harbor in Burgstaaken between the climbing silo and the harbor basin, with a beautiful terrace it is definitely a good address. To put it bluntly: the food is excellent! I had Mediterranean fish soup (excellent) and wanted a fried plaice. Unfortunately the waiter misunderstood me and I got plaice fillet, but that can happen and the plaice fillets were delicious. Actually a quaint restaurant, but the large dining room has the charm and noise level of a train station lobby. At least when the store is full and that seems to be the rule. Luckily we sat in the next room, so it was bearable. The service was otherwise OK. The prices are designed according to the beautiful location. Something too overwhelming for me personally. Next time I'll go in the summer in the hope of getting a spot on the terrace.

The service was great... the children were given a coloring card and pens straight away, so they were kept busy straight away. The selection on the children's menu was also amazing, something I've never experienced before. We ate from the lunch menu and it was OK for the price. The food was delicious. Definitely recommended with children.

We were already in the golden anchor this spring and were very happy with everything despite the slightly higher prices. We were really looking forward to the visit, but this joy quickly turned into disillusionment. Despite a reservation at 7 p.m., we stood in a crowd of people waiting at the front door for about 20 minutes. New guests kept coming, while the existing guests were definitely annoyed that we were breathing down their necks. Some of those waiting were asked about their reservation, in fact we were completely ignored. The waiter assured the crowd twice that it would start soon, and some guests just had to pay. Except for a group of tables - which was very rudely asked to “clear the table”, nothing moved. After a lot of standing around, we went outside again and made our way home via the cobblestone path - which is certainly a listed building. A “we don’t have anything free today” would have done the trick too.

Right on the harbor and a rustic atmosphere with delicious food.

Well, unfortunately not so good. The reserved table was not yet free when we arrived on time. So wait a little longer, no problem. Unfortunately, the table assigned to us was very small, smaller than the one we had to wait at. The 5th person couldn't sit properly. It was very loud and therefore not really comfortable. The fish was quite good, but the pork medallions were not appropriate for the (too) high price. They were swimming in packet gravy with canned mushrooms. That's not possible at all at this price. There was also a side salad from the bag, which had a delicious sauce. While we were still eating, tables and chairs were loudly being pushed around next to us. Not all very hospitable. Therefore “only” 3 stars from me.

Here you can get delicious fish in a rustic atmosphere right by the harbor. The dishes are tasty, portions are decent. The prices are not cheap, but the overall package is okay. For children there is something to paint and a small corner with games/books.
