The ambiance in the harbor is authentic for a fish restaurant, although the side facing the industrial harbor loses a bit. However, the food and service are impressive. The wait staff are on the ball, attentive to guests' requests, and ensure short, reasonable wait times. The food is of excellent quality. The plaice was fried to perfection. The seasoning was very subtle and rounded off with melted butter, appropriate for plaice. The price is more mid-range. But the value for money is good and appropriate for the quality and portion size. Conclusion: I'd gladly go back.

Here, we sat outside on the terrace, with a view of the harbor! The staff are very friendly and always in a good mood. We felt very comfortable and welcome out here on the terrace. The food was delicious! 👍 We always enjoy coming back here! 👍 Parking is right in front of the door! 👍 Our Australian Shepherd was welcome, and a water bowl is already waiting at the entrance! 🐾🐾

After a long bike ride, we discovered the Golden Anker. Upon arrival, we asked if we could have a table for two. The large area was very crowded, and we were seated in a kind of winter garden overlooking the harbor. We really liked that, as we wanted some peace and quiet to enjoy the evening. We ordered our drinks and received them immediately. There was a small misunderstanding, which was quickly resolved. I have to say that the Anker team wasn't to blame. I was a bit too forward and took the waiter by surprise. The restaurant manager came immediately afterward, and we defused the situation. Great response... we'd love to come back. We ate outside on the terrace. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Three fish fillets with fried potatoes for €27. I would have liked a small bowl of remoulade or a special sauce to go with it. Certainly possible for the price, and it would have rounded out the good impression.

I absolutely recommend this restaurant. Our group consisted of four adults and two children. We all loved the food. Everything was perfect, truly delicious. The service was also excellent. The restaurant was full, and the waiters were prompt but not rushed, attentive, and super friendly. You can tell they really know what they're doing. I also particularly liked the fact that they cater to children. That's something you really don't take for granted. There's something to paint and play with, and even warming baby food was no problem. We'll definitely plan a visit here again on our next vacation to Fehmarn!

In my opinion, the best place to eat fish on all of Fehmarn! Perfectly located in Burgstaaken, you can't help but sit down here and eat the best fish on the island. Everything is freshly prepared and the fish tastes as if it had just been pulled from the sea, which is truly amazing. Service is top-notch, with the waiters always friendly and helpful. All in all, it couldn't be better! 🐟

If you like fish, this is the place for you! The dishes are fresh and delicious. The beer garden is lovely, and you can watch the ships in the harbor.

There were four of us at the Golden Anchor: three adults and one child. Even before we ordered, the service was very attentive and brought my grandson crayons and drawings to color in. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. When it got a bit chilly, they brought my grandson a warm blanket (without us asking). All in all, thumbs up. Very friendly and attentive staff and good food made our stay very pleasant.

Fried potatoes and everything else ok

Very, very, very delicious food! With a view of the harbor, perhaps a large ship transporting the island's grain to Oslo. In the evening, farmers drive past with their harvest on tractors. Super friendly service, although there was a bit of a wait. The kitchen is probably too small for the number of guests... We waited an hour for the food. But it was worth it!

A wonderful restaurant. You can dine or drink inside or outside. You sit right on the harbor and enjoy the fresh air and the view of the boats. The food was delicious. There's a good selection. Lots of fish dishes, which is what I'd expect from a place like this. The food was served very quickly despite the crowds. The service was very friendly and attentive to the customers' well-being. We've eaten here several times, and it's always been good. The lunch portions are perfectly adequate for us. The food tastes good, and the service is always friendly.

The Golden Anchor is a bit dated. This doesn't detract from the ambiance, the service, or the food. Since it's a fish restaurant, although they also serve meat, etc., I opted for the mild herring. My mistake! I didn't like the combination of sweet and sour. But I ate it all 😂 That was my mistake, too. My better half ordered the fisherman's pan. Delicious, she assured me. Highly recommended, for lunch and dinner! Friendly, service-oriented service. Except for one waiter, who seemed to be having a bad day and was quite rude to our table neighbors and to us as we were leaving.

Very nice restaurant with a young, motivated team. Almost everyone was very friendly 😉 But one bad-tempered member of the team was overlooked. The food was great, and the wait was perfectly fine. Keep it up!

We wouldn't have been able to get a seat without a reservation. The service was prompt, and the portions were very filling. An appetizer wasn't necessary. The garlic soup was delicious, but it could have used more garlic. A matter of taste.

We sat outside in brilliant sunshine, so we're giving it 5 stars for the ambiance. The server was on the ball, and the food (five adults had fish, three children had schnitzel, among other dishes) was delicious and served in generous portions. See for yourself; it was perfect for all of us...

We had reserved a table for 8 people, including 4 children (5, 7, 9, and 9 years old), for 7 p.m. The children had been listed on the phone. We sat at the large table in the middle of the dining room near the entrance. Unfortunately, it was incredibly drafty that evening, and we were sitting in the middle of a train. Our request to close the door was ignored. Upon request, we were given two blankets and wrapped the children up. It was really busy. It took a while to order drinks, and then it took another while to order food. The food finally arrived at 8:40 p.m. AFTER we asked again. Other guests, including a family with 3 children who arrived after us, had already finished eating and had already paid, and our food still wasn't there. The food was delicious, but the overall experience was more than unsatisfactory! I expressed my displeasure at one point, but it was ignored. And we're lucky to have such wonderful children who waited so well. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back and certainly wouldn't recommend it.

Our first port of call for fish on Fehmarn. The food is exceptionally tasty, the fish is fresh and high-quality, and the service is relaxed and friendly. The Fischerpfanne is highly recommended. We're always happy to come back – keep up the good work!

We had reserved a table for eight people (including four children) for 7:00 p.m. Unfortunately, we were seated in a very awkward spot, directly in the staff's walkway—with constant jostling and a noticeable draft from the wind. The children were noticeably cold, but even though a better-situated table became available later, we weren't offered a change. The drinks and food weren't served until around 7:30 p.m. Two groups, who arrived 30 and 45 minutes after us, respectively, received their food much earlier—one had even left before we were even served. Only when we asked at 8:20 p.m. were we told it would take "another ten minutes." The food tasted good, but some of it was undercooked (e.g., the fried potatoes). All in all: A disappointing visit, characterized by a lack of organization, little attention, and an atmosphere in which guests feel more in the way than welcome.

It wasn't too busy; we waited about half an hour for our food. Service was friendly. I had fried fish with fried potatoes, which was delicious :)

The food was delicious. The portions were rather small. What I don't understand is why two people have to share their side dish (e.g. fries in our case) on one plate. The prices are very expensive for what you get -> so not good value for money. I didn't think the service was particularly good either. We had to wait quite a long time for the food. On top of that, the plates sometimes arrived up to 10 minutes apart. The salad was completely forgotten at first. We only got it after asking for it. It also took quite a while until we got our bill at the end. What's more, what's more, was that there were so many flies in the restaurant. They were just annoying. I don't think my family and I will be coming back.

There were three parking spaces for customers, and it was very atmospheric inside and nice outside. The staff spoke English and German, and card payments were accepted. There's a children's menu for up to €10-12 per section. The food was delicious; I would visit again and recommend it to others.

I have celiac disease and was thrilled when the waitress told me I could get everything gluten-free. I chose a Wiener Schnitzel. What can I say? It tasted wonderful. The fish dishes were also prepared gluten-free. They use gluten-free flour. Now 2.5 hours have passed and I feel great, so it's definitely gluten-free food! Highly recommended. My husband was just as happy with his Jägerschnitzel, and our son with his nuggets. This certainly won't be the last time I'll be there.

The plaice was divine, and the veal schnitzel also deserved a 10 out of 10. The place was packed inside and out, so reservations are recommended. We were lucky without a reservation and got a great spot outside. We'll be back.👍🏻👌👍🤝

The food is really good. But: The service is terrible! No, they can't make fried potatoes without onions. Strange, it worked last time. We're still waiting for the requested (and confirmed) salt shaker. Instead of Coca-Cola, as stated on the menu, we got Sinalco. A small thing? Well, if they suddenly served Paderborner instead of Carlsberg, the beer-drinking population would be annoyed, and rightly so. To make matters worse, the other guests outside squash your food. Delicious smoked fish! It's also a few dollars more expensive than comparable restaurants in the area, but the "service" certainly doesn't justify it.

A great restaurant, located right on the harbor. Very attentive staff. We had two children with us, and they immediately brought us a cup with crayons and the children's menu to color in, as well as another sheet with a coloring picture. We were asked if we wanted a "robbers' plate" for our little one 👍. In the restaurant itself, there was a box with several pictures/children's books and toys for toddlers 😊. There was a changing table in both the men's and women's areas, even with a small selection of diapers. Great! They're very family-friendly, can't complain, only praise! The food was delicious, of course. They even accommodated our son's special requests 😊. We'll definitely be back next time we're on Fehmarn!

Definitely old school. Today, you'd say regional and authentic. I say delicious! Very good value for money! Especially when you're hungry. The staff is straightforward and multitasking, serving 10 tables at once and securing the terrace, including the parasols, from storms...what has to be done, has to be done...it's possible in the north.

The fish wasn't cooked thoroughly, and some of the fried potatoes were still raw. Some of the fried potatoes were oversalted, while others weren't salted at all.

After the meal, we were even offered an espresso or coffee. The food was SO delicious! Fried potatoes like grandma used to make <3 kudos to the kitchen. We felt very comfortable here! A beautiful restaurant steeped in history. Interesting photos and artifacts from bygone nautical times hang on the walls, and a few TV stars have even visited. The food and variety are top-notch! And the little ones even get a children's menu with a coloring page and small children's portions to choose from. There's also a generous selection of well-known new children's books.

A very good restaurant with local cuisine. After four days of eating fish, I had to eat a schnitzel again. The Labskaus (a kind of sausage) is also highly recommended. It was very good, right on the harbor with a view of a fishing boat. The service was very friendly. Dinner is definitely worth it.

They still exist: good restaurants in prime locations that turn an evening into an experience with quality and service. We ordered a platter for two and were rewarded with a culinary delight. The quality of the produce and fish, portion size, taste, and presentation were all first-class. In the truest sense of the word, the food at the Golden Anchor is worth the price. The service is friendly, competent, and prompt. There's little room for improvement. We ate overlooking the harbor, which was entertaining and the view was beautiful. After this evening, it's clear we'll definitely be returning to the Golden Anchor.

When we initially asked for a seat outside, the waitress tried to find a free table, but other guests were quicker. Thanks to a reservation for four people, we were comfortably seated in an adjoining room and were able to have a pleasant conversation. The food was very good, and the service was attentive and very friendly, even though it was very busy. They apologized several times for the somewhat longer wait (30 minutes) for our dishes. In summary: We were satisfied and had a pleasant evening with good food.
