Fischbistro Kombüse in Fehmarn

We were out cycling today and stopped here for a fish sandwich, which we bought from the window. Super friendly guy from northern Germany. Unfortunately, they were out of matjes herring, but they had two Bismarck herring sandwiches. I've never had such a generously filled Bismarck herring sandwich for that price. I don't understand all the negative reviews here, but we didn't eat in. If we're ever in the area again, I'll definitely stop by! Thanks for the hospitality and the delicious sandwiches!

The food, we had the Baltic Sea platter and Hamburg schnitzel, was okay. The spinach in the Baltic Sea platter was very over-seasoned with garlic. We paid €95.90 for four lunches and four drinks. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy it at all. The quality of the food (greasy schnitzel with cold mushroom sauce, potato rösti, triangles of frozen industrial produce at around €20 per dish), the preparation (fresh pepper and warm dishes would have improved things considerably), the drinks (flat Alster beer), and the service were all disappointing. We received such rude and unprofessional service that, for the first time, we decided not to tip. While clearing the table, our son was stabbed with a dirty knife. The server's response: no apology; instead, they took the napkins, which we could have used to clean our clothes. Unbelievable!

Absolutely not. I can only agree with the many bad reviews: I had redfish in a herb coating and fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were a low-quality, ready-made product, the fish was very thin and flavorless. My wife even had stomach problems. We had a fish platter with fillets on a skewer and a whole plaice. The food was very good – fresh and delicious! The whole thing feels very much like a restaurant, sitting outside, only a little cheaper. We recommend it and will go again!

Paying 90 euros for the four of us with a small drink is really cheeky for this meal.

The atmosphere also suffers from the open kitchen, as the bistro doesn't seem particularly clean - a lot of the things we touched were slightly sticky. The service could also have been a little friendlier. The thing that seems to be most worthwhile here is to take the fresh fish sandwiches with you - unfortunately we weren't that enthusiastic about everything else.

Remolade war reine Mayonnaise. Außerdem war es schmutzig, die Speisekarte und Tische klebten. Für 2 Personen 50 Euro bezahlt, hätte man gleich in die Tonne kloppen können. Hab mich nur geärgert, dass wir die Bewertungen nicht vorher gelesen haben.

Only later, when we brought the glasses inside, did she become friendlier. Unfortunately, you could find the way to the toilets with your eyes closed, just by the smell - even though they are in the basement. Since we sat outside in the sunshine, we can rate the ambience with three stars. Conclusion: The fish sandwiches are good and not as overpriced as on the other side of the street. If you can sit outside due to the weather, it's ok. Cleanliness still needs to be worked on.

One child was not served the fish & chips request but had to order the food separately and was served it in a Styrofoam bowl (banned in the EU since 2021). The other dishes followed, served unkindly. I have never eaten such bad plaice fillets. It's a shame that an animal had to be sacrificed for this - mealworms would have had the same taste.
