Restaurant "Zum Haifisch" in Fehmarn

The food was delicious, but there were far too few fried potatoes! One mini bowl for 3 people.

The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the food—herring fillet and a fish platter—was incredibly delicious. Blankets were provided for the chilly evening, and table lamps were brought out. We sat outside. There's traffic, but that doesn't detract from the evening atmosphere.

The entrance area was rustic and beautiful. Inviting and friendly. Comfortable seating. Second, fourth, and suitable for groups. Friendly staff. No one always had a funny or friendly remark on their lips. The waitress was always smiling. The lady behind the counter had everything under control with the drinks. Coloring pages were available for children if they were a little bored. The wait for food was very pleasant. It was perfect. The food was hot and more than enough for those with a "big appetite." Perfect. The price-performance ratio was very good. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend this place. It's very good and plentiful food, the waiters are very friendly and cheerful, the value for money is excellent, and the atmosphere is also very clean and comfortable. It's also a great place to go as a group! The restaurant has a few outdoor seating areas in front of the shop, as well as seating in the front area and a seating area at the back.

Four of us came for dinner! First, some basics! The restaurant is located right on the main road through the busy town center! Many drivers park their cars here! Depending on the time of year, the traffic is extremely heavy! The cobblestones on the road create a correspondingly noisy atmosphere! The service was good, friendly, and prompt! The prices are a bit higher! Now for the food! The dream trio, three different fried fish fillets with fried potatoes and remoulade, was good (€26.90). The pirate plate (€27.90) was weak in terms of the amount of fish and the shrimp skewer, which was cooked dry! The pan-fried fish (€26.90) was neither tasty nor visually convincing, as all the fillets were overcooked. 🤷‍♂️ Due to the quality defects in the preparation, which can occur with any fried fish dish, the shark is no longer an option for us!

It's a shame we didn't visit this restaurant sooner, because there's certainly no better one on the island. The fish on both plates was a true delight, succulent, and the portions were quite generous. And a large bowl of fried potatoes was also very tasty. While eating out is unfortunately quite expensive these days, at least we're rewarded with a full stomach here. We certainly won't eat anywhere else when we're on vacation here. Thank you very much.

Unfortunately, this was our first time there. We've been coming to Fehmarn for so many years and have always walked past it. You pay a little more than elsewhere, but it's worth it. My wife had a schnitzel and I had the pepper rump steak. Both were fantastic. We'll now be regulars and come back every year. A huge compliment also for the friendly service. Thank you so much.

We received a very warm welcome today, and our dog was also given a very friendly welcome. We had made a reservation—which is generally only possible in the inner dining area—and were given a table in the front area. It was nice and quiet, so our young dog could learn to eat in a relaxed atmosphere. We had already seen the promising menu on the website, and so today we had the Neptune fish platter for two people. The portion size is very generous, with a total of six select fish fillets, along with the most tender calamari we've ever had. Two portions of salad with excellent dressing, delicious fried potatoes, and a delicately seasoned aioli rounded off the platter. Attractively presented and very tasty. We enjoyed it and feel the value for money is more than justified. Plus, a wonderfully pleasant chat with our waiter, a few quick remarks...that's how we like it. We like the ambiance; we prefer simple and somewhat subdued decor. We'll definitely be back.

Very nice restaurant. Our food was delicious and plentiful. My husband had Labskaus (a kind of fried fish), and I opted for the salmon on spinach with fried potatoes. The staff were busy on a Saturday night, but we still received very friendly service. Our server always had a friendly joke, and we felt welcome. It was our first time there, but certainly not our last.

We were completely satisfied and happy. Thank you, dear Mike, you're truly one of a kind and provided us with the best service. Humorous, the welcome was inviting, "like being with friends," kind to the children and dog, excellent recommendations... we immediately felt at home. That's what makes it so much fun! Oh yes, and the food was fantastic, too. A perfect lunch for our 80th birthday! But any other occasion would be fine, too. A+ with ☆.

During our stay on Fehmarn, our evening at Haifisch was one of our highlights. The schnitzels were delicious, and the service was excellent. Despite the busyness, we weren't simply brushed off, but treated with wit and charm.

You can do it, but you don't have to. We had schnitzel hunter's style with fries, lobster soup, and vegetable fritters with salad and bread. I don't think the price of the schnitzel was justified. It was two small schnitzels, a small (really small) bowl of fries, and quite a lot of sauce. The lobster soup was okay, but nothing more. Unfortunately, the vegetable fritters were pretty bland. They tasted mostly of carrot and nothing else. Tip: Instead of packing the vegetables into an indefinable mass, prepare them with couscous and turmeric ;) The salad was a bit bitter in places. It's nice that they ask if everything is okay every now and then. Not everyone likes it; I found it annoying. The only positive thing: the waiter's jokes.

I would particularly like to highlight the service: Mike, the waiter, took the visit to a new level with his humor and unobtrusive manner. His jokes and relaxed timing were not only entertaining but also created a pleasant, friendly atmosphere. You immediately sense that he is passionate about his work and cares about each guest individually. At the same time, you feel taken seriously as a customer and are also provided with advice on everything from the menu to the right drinks. We visited the "Haifisch" today on our last day of vacation. The food was delicious and served quickly. Our super friendly and, above all, funny waitress, "Mike," deserves special praise. We laughed a lot and fondly remember such a delicious and entertaining meal. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation to Fehmarn. We would love to give more stars, but unfortunately, that's not possible. Excellent service with delicious food. Dogs and children are also very welcome here. Very family and dog-friendly.

The portions were generous, the selection creative, and the food arrived surprisingly quickly. The service? Simply fantastic – warm, attentive, with a touch of humor. The platters were an absolute taste experience: fresh, varied, and beautifully presented. Great food and superb service! We arrived at this restaurant with two families (five children and four adults) in bad weather, "ambush-like" without a reservation. The waiter did everything possible to accommodate us. In addition to excellent service, Mike was also the perfect entertainer for the kids. We never felt like we were disturbing anyone, even though the kids weren't exactly quiet. We were so impressed that we went back a few days later... And this time with the whole group: nine children and eight adults... this time with a reservation, of course! 😉 If you want to eat delicious fish, this is the place for you!

Super delicious food and cheerful staff. Unfortunately, the prices are a bit steep, but what can you expect during peak season and in this location? Reservations are recommended, as it gets very busy.

Unfortunately, we don't have a photo for you! If you reserve a table on July 12th for August 4th and then have to sit in front of the men's restroom, then the food can't make up for it. I was served! It was noticeable that they didn't want to turn away walk-ins, even though it was already full inside. There was space outside. Guests without reservations were seated somewhere in between. The menus for drinks and meals were slammed down on our table as we walked by. After we paid, they remarked, "I'm seriously considering whether I work in finance." The prices for drinks seem a bit high, especially when you get Sinalco glasses that can hold, for example, Coca-Cola. My suspicion: they're serving what's on offer in stores. A bottle of still water (Bad Pyrmonter) costs €7.90/0.75l, a Spezi (special) €3.90/0.33l. A glass of red wine costs the same as the bottle of water. For dinner, we ordered the Graf Hübenbeker Schnitzel for around €25. There was nothing to complain about; it was fine. With the veal schnitzel for around €29, the salad listed on the menu was a single stray leaf hidden under a slice of orange. The fried potatoes we shared were perfect for me! All in all, it's probably better to go without a reservation. There's no need to put tables in front of a restroom. If there are three fewer tables out of around 40, the customer is happy. We certainly won't be returning!

The food was okay. I'm from northern Germany and have eaten better fish in the Kappeln, Gelting, and Flensburg region. That's not to say it wasn't good at Haifisch.

A very tasty fish fantasy. 3 fish fillets in lobster sauce with crab and fried potatoes. The meal was perfect! The waiter's wonderful North German, sometimes dark sense of humor perfectly suited the gloomy weather and made for a cheerful evening. We had reservations for seven people in the afternoon, and it was no problem despite the peak season.

The salmon fillet was very strong and delicious. It could have been a bit more flavorful, but it was good.

This was our first time eating at Haifisch. When we arrived, the place was very busy, and the waiters and kitchen were extremely busy. Nevertheless, we received our drinks and food in no time. Everything was fresh and delicious! The waiters were also amazing. They always had a quick joke on their lips, no matter how busy things were. Even the children were treated with kindness. We went home full and happy and will definitely be back.

After 12 years, I've finally managed to write a review. We come here at least once on every vacation and are always more than satisfied. For the past few years, this visit has been a staple of our vacation, not just for the good food but also to see our waiter, Mike, who has a hearty and humor. Because of him and the rest of the team, we as a family can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.
