Good Franconian cuisine. It was really tasty 😋.

We spontaneously went into town in the evening and searched for a good restaurant on Google. Here we came across the moor. Spontaneously went there around 6 p.m. and got a table. The food and service were really very good. Exactly at the time of our visit, a demonstration was taking place directly in front of the restaurant or the route passed here. The music was really extremely loud, but since it was all over relatively quickly - it was more of an interesting impression than annoying.

Price performance was great for a big city

The ambience is strongly reminiscent of better times. We were there spontaneously, without a reservation, on a Sunday lunchtime and got a seat. Service wasn't the friendliest we've experienced. Food was okay, but there is still room for improvement. It's a shame that there is no side salad with the knuckle and Schäuferle. Dumplings could be a little bigger.

Really tasty Schäufele! The pork was tender and flavorful, with crispy crackling that added a satisfying crunch. The gravy was rich and complemented the meat well, and the potato dumplings were light and well-seasoned. It’s a solid, authentic Franconian meal that hits all the right notes. Not the absolute best I’ve ever had, but definitely worth ordering and a great example of classic regional cooking.

We happened to pass the restaurant as we were in Nuremberg for 3 days. “Das Moor” is a quaint little restaurant that has probably already had its heyday. The food was tasty, but nothing special. I don't think the price-performance ratio is right at all. The service lacks friendliness and, above all, a "smile" on the face. It's a bit chaotic because the kitchen staff also brings the food to the table but doesn't really have a plan where to put it. We wouldn't come back again.

Food was good so far. The dumplings didn't meet our taste. Service was very friendly, but sometimes a bit chaotic. The prices are very fair.

We had two asparagus dishes, currywurst and shashlik. Everything very tasty! The ambience inside is already getting old. The outdoor area invites you to linger, right in the city center.

Not much choice, prices very high, the server then gave me a euro too little, and the icing on the cake was that after three hours I had to throw up extremely, the roast pork was probably a bit old...unfortunately disgusting!

The Wienerschnitzel was ok but quite fatty and not really good. The service was very fast but a bit chaotic (we were asked to order 4 times by different people, and when the food came we didn't know which table it had been ordered at). The salad was also just ok.

Unfortunately really bad service. You don't feel welcome here, the drinks are wrong, the beer is not carbonated.

Outstanding! I'm here from Bremen for a weekend, the trip was worth it just for the "Schäufele with dumplings". Meat very tender and delicious in taste. Meatballs stuffed with a piece of bread are also very good.

Kleine gemütliche Gaststätte im Herzen von Nürnberg. Service war sehr zuvorkommend. Hatten nicht reserviert, Rotbier. ( das ich bisher nicht kannte ), ist sehr süffig. Schäufele sehr zu empfehlen, mit selbst gemachten Kartoffelknödel und dunkler Soße. Wer nach fränkischer Küche im Zentrum von Nürnberg sucht wird hier fündig.

We had Fläderlesuppe and Schäuferle. Soup was very good and tasted like homemade soup. Schäuferle was tender as butter and had a crispy crust. Red cabbage or sauerkraut was not included in the price, but it was delicious

Typical restaurant, typical cuisine, cheaper than others in the center, not in the tourist/fair area. Of course, courtesy is not a skill, but it could be improved.

Basically a nice place. Unfortunately that's the only positive thing. There is room for improvement in the service. The quantity and quality of the food left a lot to be desired. I had shish kebab with fries, almost looked like a children's portion. My wife had schnitzel with potato salad. The schnitzel was small and the potato salad was spoiled (you could already smell it). Our companion had knuckle with dumplings. I have no idea what kind of dumplings they were, at least not Franconian. We, Nuremberg residents, were traveling with the Schlemmerblock and will never enter this restaurant again. We reported the potato salad thing but it was blamed on vinegar, which was definitely not it.

We were also here with the Schlemmerblock and got the answer that the Schäufele was closed. One was taken out less than 10 minutes later and it was found by chance. The food was okay, but the service was subpar. Then the company simply shouldn't be part of the gourmet block, with these self-made special rules.

Through the Schlemmerblock we spontaneously returned to the former "cult location" in the middle of Nbg. I find the restaurant itself very cozy, but it's not for wheelchair users or people with walking difficulties because the entrance doesn't have much space and you have to squeeze through (plus long stairs to the toilets). There were 3 of us and we all ordered Schäufele. Then it said “only 1”. One of them then switched to the goose breast - but he wasn't allowed to have it because of the gourmet block (although you always pay for the most expensive dish, so that would have been OK since everything else was cheaper!?). After a back and forth and the explanation, the goose was accepted, 1 Schäufele was converted into a roast pork, since there was only "1". Why this was handled this way, I have no idea, because a guest at the next table after us still got a Schäufele.. Positive: since our fourth guest couldn't come spontaneously, we were allowed to take the second cheap dish with us! (We had 2 blocks with us). The goose was probably quite lukewarm, but it wasn't passed on to the service - but we didn't try it either and so relied on what they said. The shovel and roast pork were really very tasty, the sauce was hearty (not recommended for salt-reduced eaters😅) and the quantity was more than sufficient. However, it remains a mystery to me why the side dishes are being reduced more and more: the dumplings are the size of a table tennis ball, but dumpling dough isn't necessarily expensive and there shouldn't be any savings here, especially in Bavaria. It's better to have just 600g of meat than 800g and a little more side dish instead, as the host ultimately earns more ^^🤣 The schnitzel with potato salad for the fourth guest was also quite good. So gladly again, because it's really nice to sit here, but the thing with the gourmet block is often very borderline and the discussions shouldn't actually have to be had. Bad "advertising" when you dictate what you can and can't eat!

Bei 6 Nürnberger Bratwürst mit Kraut muss man das Brot extra dazubestellen. Und das im Herzen von Nürnberg. Traurig. Hatten nicht das Gefühl willkommen zu sein. Immerhin - das Weizen vom Fass war gut. Ansonsten enttäuschend.

Once and never again! The toilet was overcooked, the sauerkraut was lukewarm and the Nuremberg sausages were not sufficiently fried. Unfortunately, the waitress (older lady with an accent) was very rude and didn't even want to offer another side dish for a dish - the guest pays you for it! By the way, you shouldn't have an argument or something similar between the staff within earshot of the guests, it seems very unprofessional! The menus were covered in fat finger tappers. The price-performance ratio is simply not good for what is on offer. Conclusion: You can certainly have a quick drink here, but definitely not eat! P. S. I am very sure that the chef has no idea about Franconian cuisine.

The dishes were delicious and well-prepared, with fresh ingredients and great flavors. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and efficient. Everything was served promptly, and the staff made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to visiting again!

The food was solid. I had the Sauerbraten where the potato dumplings were a little too soft, the sauce wasn't enough and the Sauerbraten wasn't seasoned enough. I also found it a shame that they asked if we wanted sauerkraut with the meal and it wasn't clear that this was only possible with an additional charge. Beer was delicious, atmosphere was very cozy, service was very friendly. But I wouldn't come back.

The food and ambience are very good and nicely decorated. Price wise also okay. Unfortunately, the service isn't all that great.

The staff wasn't too kind. In addition, when the elderly waitress realized that we had come with Schlemmerblock 2025, she was generally unhappy. The young waitress looked scared and didn't know anything. A glass of beer 0.4 costs 4.80 euros, you can take 1l for 9 euros. I'm not happy with the beer. The shank was very tasty, a little overcooked in the oven. The portion is quite large. I don't think I'll be back behind the wheel again.

Kinda average food, potions are small-ish for the price. Will do it if you are hungry. Also beers like 0.3-0.4 or 1 litter

Eternal classic in the heart of Nuremberg with excellent food and loving guidance.

Quaint shop, the service seemed a bit confused and overwhelmed, but the shop was also well attended. We were there on Sunday evening with 8 adults and 2 children, reservations went smoothly. Portions were ok, prices were reasonable for Nuremberg city center. Taste good but nothing special.

Nice, rustic pub, unfortunately the portions were relatively small and the currywurst sauce was really not recommended!

The food was super tasty. Requests regarding precise application due to diabetes were also addressed. We had a two-for-one voucher, but even without that it would definitely have been worth it.

It costs more than 20 euros to swipe the card I ordered 17 euros and when I checked out, the old lady said at first that I couldn’t pay by credit card. So I asked if I could transfer money because I didn't have any cash. She just mentioned the rules above and then pressed 20 They didn't ask me if I wanted to add more, so they just charged me 3 euros more for nothing. How much do Germans dislike being charged fees by banks? I don’t like being overcharged either.

Well, it smelled a bit strange in the guest room. The meal was divided into two parts! Schäufala & knuckles and sauce were very good. The sauerkraut was terrible, just warmed up from a can, no salt, pepper or anything else!! The potato salad had spoiled, had a sting, you could smell it and of course taste it!! Schnitzel was very small, for 16 euros!!

Home-style restaurant with pleasantly friendly staff and really tasty food. The restaurant itself also has a rustic atmosphere. You can really make yourself comfortable there and have a good time!

We were there spontaneously on Monday lunchtime without a reservation and were warmly welcomed and given a table straight away. The food was super tasty and the portions were big enough to fill you up. A younger and an older waitress looked after us warmly. Price/performance great, for 2 soups, 2 drinks and 2 main courses €44, totally fine. Can definitely recommend it.

1. Nothing works without a reservation, most of the time. You always try not to turn anyone away. 2. Food is extremely good here, even if you don't always get what you want. Always listen to the recommendation, you can never go wrong. 3. Quaint, rustic, cozy; I think that sums it up best.

Pork knuckle and currywurst were terrible, service was slow and inattentive. The only good food was the Wiener Schnitzel.

A great choice for a traditional meal in Nürnberg. Nothing fancy but very good prepared meal. We were 2 persons an had a pork Schnitzel with potato salad and 6 Nürnberger sausages with potato salad too. One Glühwein and 2 beers. We paid 40€. I recommend it if you want a taste from the traditional German kitchen. P.s : the only flaue was that I ordered the sausages with Sauerkraut and they served it with patato salad.

We would have liked to drink more and eat at the same time. The schnitzels came first and were delicious. Later came the “crispy pork knuckle”. It was more like a knuckle of pork. We immediately returned it and ordered a currywurst. It wasn't any better either. Upon request, the potato soup we ordered also came. We also received our second 🍺 when we asked again. Unfortunately there was no apology from the landlady. It's a shame, we were looking forward to a delicious dinner. By the way, the waiters were very nice when they were there.

The restaurant is centrally located in the city center of Nuremberg, the Schäuferla was very good, other food was nothing special, the furnishings seem well-kept but the service does not invite you to come back.

Incredibly delicious food. Salad, goulash soup, schnitzel, cordon blue with fresh potato salad, high quality food, great ambience and nice, very attentive service.

Relatively comfortable, relatively clean. Friendly, good selection and it tastes good. Service seems a bit reorganized, everyone does everything. But it was still a very nice evening.

Sehr netter Laden mit guter fränkischer Küche. Nicht so groß und deshalb auch nicht so laut. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung. Das Schäufele war sensationell. Die vollen 5 Punkte gibt leider nicht da der Linie Aquavit nicht genug gekühlt war. Fazit: die negativ Bewertungen kann ich nachvollziehen und eine klare Empfehlung für einen Besuch aussprechen.

Four of us had dinner on a Saturday. The portions were tiny. I've never seen such small dumplings before. The portion size was probably due to the coupon book. But you have no ambition to give the restaurant a second chance without a book. One of us had the whole for €21.50. Both Mirko dumplings were collectively larger than the piece of breast he received. The beer sauce was too salty, the red cabbage was wooden, the potato salad tasted like broth/vegeta. The staff wasn't trained, which wouldn't be a problem if the basics were correct. Not once was anyone asked if we wanted something more to drink or if everything was okay. The daily specials were not even mentioned to us. A total failure for us

Were there food, The pork knuckle was not at all soft, everything was soft and you didn't need a knife for the meat on the knuckle. Wasn't impressed at all. Sorry... The ambience was quite nice.

Impatient, not very friendly service, unfortunately the food wasn't great. There was only a smile when paying. It was really a bit embarrassing when I was visiting from North Rhine-Westphalia.

Had a very tasty meal here, nice, rustic atmosphere. Unfortunately, we weren't completely satisfied with the service - both in terms of friendliness and speed, both the drinks and the food took a long time. Nevertheless, we would recommend the inn because the food (home-style cooking) was really delicious.

Lokalität urig, gemütlich. Hierarchie...der Umgang mit dem Servicepersonal war unter jeder Würde. Service sehr freundlich. Chefin sehr unfreundlich. Essen, grenzwertig...Schweinebraten mit Knödel und Sosse. Salat war das Beste am Essen

Unfreundliche Chefin (ältere Dame), war zum Personal sehr unfreundlich, grenzwertig…wir wurden keines Blickes von ihr gewürdigt, mussten uns an die Bar setzen(andere durften an einen Tisch), so bekamen wir auch den Umgang mit dem Personal mit….die zwei jungen Bedienungen waren freundlich, eine bekam nach Feierabend das Geld heimlich zugesteckt…Schweinebraten und Soße mangelhaft, geschmacklos

The food (cream of chanterelle soup and Schäufele) was really excellent. However, the service was absolutely overwhelmed. The older lady (landlady?) was completely on her own because the young man who was supposed to bring food and drinks seemed like he had never done that before. Example: after dinner we (5 people) ordered a round of schnapps. The young man actually brought each liquor to the table one at a time, about 5 apart. The 2 stars for the service are because we ultimately received everything that was ordered. The 4 points in the overall rating are still justified because the food was really excellent.

Worst food I've ever seen, the old lady (possibly the owner) is an angry old thing. The atmosphere is one of sad dispair. Don't come here!

Just happened to walk by this beautiful restaurant in Nuremberg . It’s run by a family and the menu said be patient because everything is made to order. My wife had the potato soup and we both had the Pork schnitzel. It was outstanding. The best I’ve ever had. I knew we were in for a treat when I heard the cook banging the mallet to thin the pork. Great staff and reasonably priced. Don’t miss this

Real German food in Germany! Something that is becoming increasingly scarce, unfortunately there is a kebab or other type of place on every corner in the city. We are happy to experience that there is still a restaurant where delicious German dishes are served. Excellent menu. Staff are friendly and helpful. Recommended if you are in Nuremberg, you are on the corner of a square. Nice terrace.

I like to sit next to the nice fountain, drink a small beer and let the busy world go by. That's what it's good for, a little oasis in the hustle and bustle. But the second O thing is just silly.

A big plus point is the friendly and nice staff and the rustic atmosphere. The food is too salty, especially the sausages. The potato salad here tastes rancid. The Schäufele is very good, the dumplings could have a bit more flavor and filling. The price is too high for the sausages with potato salad. There are better Franconian restaurants. S.B. used.

Ate Franconian Schäufelchen there for €18.90. We were asked with sauerkraut or salad. We were then charged an additional €4.40 for the portion of sauerkraut. The price €18.90 only referred to scoops with 2 dumplings. (It probably said that on the menu, but unfortunately we hadn't read it) With sauerkraut the portion was too big and we couldn't finish it. The meat was wonderfully tender and the crust was wonderfully crispy. When the weather is nice you can sit there very well, it's not that busy there.

A recommended restaurant with Franconian cuisine. The service employee was able to give an easy and skillful answer about the ingredients (vegetarian, with meat, etc.) The food was very, very tasty (chanterelle mushrooms with dumplings: chanterelle soup, salad and potato salad) There is the option to sit outside so that wheelchair users can also eat there right next to a fountain. The ambience there is not special: tightly packed tables with wooden chairs and beer bars all over the place, it's difficult to get through! I don't want to know what it's like when everything is full! The toilet and the staircase are not barrier-free. We weren't in the restaurant inside! Conclusion: food and service top! Otherwise there is room for improvement: maybe put all the tables together and form table groups?

Following the spirit of the times, “Das Mohr” was renamed “Das Moor”; Pity. The inside is now more of a restaurant than a cafe/bar. Outside, the sound from the separate drinks dispenser is annoying; less noise would be appropriate.
