Real German food in Germany! Something that is becoming increasingly scarce, unfortunately there is a kebab or other type of place on every corner in the city. We are happy to experience that there is still a restaurant where delicious German dishes are served. Excellent menu. Staff are friendly and helpful. Recommended if you are in Nuremberg, you are on the corner of a square. Nice terrace.

I like to sit next to the nice fountain, drink a small beer and let the busy world go by. That's what it's good for, a little oasis in the hustle and bustle. But the second O thing is just silly.

A big plus point is the friendly and nice staff and the rustic atmosphere. The food is too salty, especially the sausages. The potato salad here tastes rancid. The Schäufele is very good, the dumplings could have a bit more flavor and filling. The price is too high for the sausages with potato salad. There are better Franconian restaurants. S.B. used.

A recommended restaurant with Franconian cuisine. The service employee was able to give an easy and skillful answer about the ingredients (vegetarian, with meat, etc.) The food was very, very tasty (chanterelle mushrooms with dumplings: chanterelle soup, salad and potato salad) There is the option to sit outside so that wheelchair users can also eat there right next to a fountain. The ambience there is not special: tightly packed tables with wooden chairs and beer bars all over the place, it's difficult to get through! I don't want to know what it's like when everything is full! The toilet and the staircase are not barrier-free. We weren't in the restaurant inside! Conclusion: food and service top! Otherwise there is room for improvement: maybe put all the tables together and form table groups?

Ate Franconian Schäufelchen there for €18.90. We were asked with sauerkraut or salad. We were then charged an additional €4.40 for the portion of sauerkraut. The price €18.90 only referred to scoops with 2 dumplings. (It probably said that on the menu, but unfortunately we hadn't read it) With sauerkraut the portion was too big and we couldn't finish it. The meat was wonderfully tender and the crust was wonderfully crispy. When the weather is nice you can sit there very well, it's not that busy there.

Following the spirit of the times, “Das Mohr” was renamed “Das Moor”; Pity. The inside is now more of a restaurant than a cafe/bar. Outside, the sound from the separate drinks dispenser is annoying; less noise would be appropriate.

Schäufele was nice and tender and really tasty. Unfortunately our food arrived at a delay and we had to eat one after the other. Service was messy but friendly.

We have felt very comfortable here. The food was good and the staff very attentive. Interesting atmosphere, reminds me of the Art Deco style (although I'm not an expert).

Set back in time, it has a certain charm. Unfortunately the name was changed from Mohr to Moor. But what that means is incomprehensible. In one place or another you can still find the original name. More restaurant than café. Large bar. Quite narrow.

Our tour group stopped in Nuremberg for a quick bite, and this restaurant was more than willing to get our food out quickly. I had the dumplings with chanterelles, and the kids we were traveling with had a mac and cheese. Portions were hearty and tasty, and just what we needed. Thank you, das Moor for the friendly and fast service.

I have been here very often. Today I realized that I'm no longer sitting in Café Mohr but in the moor. How ridiculous. Since people here now deny their traditional name and bow to the "language police", that's it for me.

The young man at the Baar, really nice employee. I was there last Saturday, sat down at the bar and ordered an iced coffee (really delicious, highly recommended). In any case, the service there is really great.

The food is delicious. We ordered a shoulder and a pork skewer. The meals were served in satisfactory quantities and the price was very reasonable. I recommend.

My first review was deleted by Google due to a defamation complaint from the owner. MY experience is a slander? Impudence!!! Or do you have to express the evaluation in a more friendly way? Then here again friendly. I found the location unpleasant and uninviting. It smelled old, like the place used to be when you were still allowed to smoke. The food was ok, but not particularly tasty.

The food we ate was rather bland in taste, OK in terms of quantity and priced rather high for a “home-style” restaurant. The friendly and attentive service only told us when we ordered that there were still daily specials. However, the information stands for individual dishes were distributed unmotivated throughout the restaurant and therefore could not be recognized. Overall, the place seemed disorganized. The “boss” preferred to water the window plants behind us with a bucket of water rather than assist with service.

As we know, it's more expensive in the pedestrian zone, but the bratwursts with sauerkraut shouldn't have cost so much. Therefore 1 star less. The beer was reasonably priced. The service was very friendly and quick. The toilet entrance was my personal highlight.

The interior is somewhat reminiscent of an ice cream parlor. The menu has a decent selection - there are also daily specials. However, the prices are not appropriate given the quality of the food. The service tried hard, but was almost constantly arguing.

I met the unfriendly employee, just because of a toilet. I just asked if I could use the toilet and then she asked me for money. To which I pointed out that I overlooked the sign and said that I didn't have 50 cents. And she said that I should then go to the toilet on the street. Such impudence. Wouldn't even want to come to dinner anymore😡😡😡😡😡

This time I fully embraced it. The schnitzel was flat as a flounder. The frying fat didn't convince me. But you can eat roast well here.

The Schäufele is highly recommended, it is butter soft and nice and crispy. The pork schnitzel was also good with homemade potato salad. We can't understand the bad reviews at all. Priced a little higher than usual. The only criticism is that the beer is too warm.

Very lovely time here last month, sat outside in charming area. Schnitzel with mushroom sauce was quite good. My traveling companion happily had a few cold pints.

Ich war hier mit meiner Frau und meiner kleinen Tochter zum Kaffee trinken. Leider kann ich das Lokal nicht weiterempfehlen. Ich hatte einen Marmorkuchen, welcher so hart und trocken war, dass man ihn fast nicht runterbekommen hat. Meine Frau hatte einen Pflaumenkuchen der einigermaßen genießbar war. Was allerdings überhaupt nicht geht, sind abgelaufene Lebensmittel. Meine Kondensmilch war am Tag des Besuches: 14.01.24 bereits fast zwei Monate abgelaufen. Wer weiß was noch alles länger verkocht und verkauft wird, was vielleicht längst entsorgt gehört.

Was recently visiting and stumbled upon Das Mohr, was pleasantly surprised! The establishment was cute, the service was excellent, and the food (I had the schnitzel, my partner had the dumplings) was even better! Highly recommend if you are ever in this town.

Wir waren an Silvester dort. Obwohl ausgebucht war hat man uns einen Tisch angeboten, der noch für diese Zeit frei war. Das Schäufele war mega. Die Bedienung war sehr nett. Wir waren sehr zufrieden!! Beim nächsten Nürnberg Besuch kommen wir wieder!

Bedienung war nach abfänglicher gestresster Kühlheit mit der Zeit immer herzlicher. Wir hatten dann auch noch Spaß mit dieser älteren Dame. Es war ein schöner Abend mit gutem Essen. Wir können gerne wieder wenn wir in dieser Region sind

Echte Nürnberger Küche. Wir hatten ein 'Schäufele'. Sehr gut und alles wird immer frisch zubereitet. Daher auch die 15-20min Wartezeit. Toller Nachtisch für 7.90 mit Eis und frischen Früchten. Netter Service... wir kommen wieder!

Ich kann einige Bewertungen leider nicht nachvollziehen. Wir waren sehr begeistert von dem Schäufele. Jedes Essen/Schäufele wird frisch zubereitet und daher dauert es mit 15-20min auch länger als in Tourilokalen mit Massenabfertigung. Dafür ist es meega lecker und nicht so ewig fettig wie zB im Schweifele (dort waren wir gestern sehr enntäuscht). Die Sosse war toll, eine typisch fränkische Biersosse und ist natürlich nicht gebunden oder vergleichbar mit einer Rahmsosse, aber echt lecker. 2 Klösse gab es dazu und war damit auch mehr als reichlich. Das Dessert war für 7.90 der Hammer. Frische Früchte, 3Apfelküchle und 2 Kugeln Vanilleeis...unschlagbar. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und können Das Mohr nur weiter empfehlen.

Tonight we stumbled upon das Mohr, a charming restaurant, after an unfortunate start to our night. We had initially planned to dine at Antipasteria Da Gallo but were met with closed doors despite our reservation. Disappointed and wandering through the city, we fortunately discovered this restaurant. For our meal, I opted for the 'Schaschlikspieße' - a skewered meat delight, while my partner chose the classic 'Schnitzel with mushrooms'. Both dishes were a culinary hit 🙂 Our evening, which began on a sour note, turned into a memorable dining experience at das Mohr. The food, atmosphere, and service combined to erase any disappointment we had initially felt.

nach dem Besuch des Christkindlesmarktes wollten wir einen Kaffee genießen und kehrte ins Cafe Mohr ein. Die Bedienung scheuchte uns zuerst einmal von einem Tisch auf, sie sind nur zu zweit also an den kleinen Tisch, verständlich, wenn das Cafe übermäßig gefüllt wäre, allerdings waren außer uns nur 6 weitere Gäste an zwei Tischen. Wir bestellten zwei Heißgetränke, welche dann auch "sehr freundlich" an dem Tisch abgestellt wurde. Den nächsten Gästen erging es ähnlich, von 4er Tisch an 2er Tisch. auf dem Tisch handelsübliche Salz- und Pfeffermenagen, dem Cafe nicht entsprechend. Mit Patzigkeit wurden wir dann auch unser Geld los. NIE WIEDER! ich bin seit 17 Jahren immer wieder einmal dort eingekehrt aber das Niveau ist mittlerweile unter aller Kanone, sorry mit uns nicht!

Kleines Restaurant mit nicht vielen Bedienungen. Ansich ist es ganz gemütlich, doch der Service ist nicht der beste. Teilweise echt langsam und sehr verplant. Essen gibt es ebenfalls besseres, und für das ist das Essen schon gut teuer. Im großen und ganzen hat der Aufenthalt gepasst, doch ich würde das Restaurant nicht nochmal besuchen.

Einfach ein Highlight in Nürnberg. Sehr gemütlich, super leckeres Essen und man kann in jeder Faser des Körpers spüren, dass dies ein Familienbetrieb ist. Trotz, dass jeder Platz besetzt war, konnte man sich sehr gut unterhalten. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Danke für einen unvergesslich schönen Abend und einen besinnlichen Jahresausklang für alle Mitarbeitenden, die in dieser stressigen Jahreszeit Ihr Bestes für alle Gäste geben.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. There's an old waitress whom I really liked interacting with. I deducted 1 star due to non acceptance of card payment . Although I could see her accepting card in my next table. May be seeing our table with a bunch of foreign girls made her take this chance. Happens during Christmas time may be. 😉

The middle aged server really made our visits here a treat! The food, atmosphere and chatter with this lady was fantastic on the 3 nights we visited. Portions were huge and freshly cooked to order and they were happy to substitute kloss for sauerkraut or boiled potatoes. Seasonal and regional dishes had so much flavour. Would definitely come back.

Essen ist super, ich würde mich von den Bewertungen nicht irritieren lassen.

Ein liebevoll gestaltetes Restaurant mit zur Jahreszeit passender Deko. Das Ambiente bekommt daher 5 Sterne. Abzüge machen wir leider im Service und einen auch beim Essen. Die Karte wurde zügig gebracht, sowie die Getränke. Jedoch wurde leider beim Essen das falsche gebracht. Statt Nudeln mit Lachs-Sahnesoße einen Haxn. Als die Bedienung verstanden hatte, dass sie uns wohl falsch verstanden hatte, wurde nicht viel weiter dazu gesagt. Ein „kommt in XX Minuten“ wäre hier kundenfreundlich gewesen… das bestellte und schnell eintreffende Schäuferle war sogar sehr lecker. Die Nudeln, die immerhin nach guten 10 Minuten kamen, haben mich jedoch leider enttäuscht. Sehr zerkocht & Nudel-Soßen-Verhältnis 1:2, was die Konsistenz breiig machte. Zum Schluss haben wir noch eine Schokotorte bestellt. Diese war in Ordnung und wurde auch hübsch angerichtet serviert. Die Bedienung kam dann mit der Rechnung, auf der die haxn noch berechnet war, was ihr selbst sogar auffiel…(vielleicht mal vorher draufschlugen und dann gleich korrigieren..?), der Preisunterschied betrug 10ct (weniger), weshalb sie das dann, mit Absprache, einfach passend in den Kartenleser eingegeben hat. Insgesamt ein Aufenthalt der in Ordnung war, aber mehr leider nicht. Ein gutes Schäufele bekommt man auch anderorts.

Kuchen wie hausgemacht, freundlicher Service und das im Herzen von Nürnberg

Wur waren Sonntag Nachmittags zum Kaffee trinken dort, das Personal ist nicht auf zack, ihre eigenen Kinder spielen so laut im Lokal das man keine Ruhe mehr hat.

Bylo to zde jedinečné. Byli jsme nadšeni jídelníčkem. Výborné jidlo, pití, (vynikající víno i pivo i zajímavá nabidka nealko), příjemný a profesionální personál, vkusně ustrojený. Moc jsme si pochutnali a užili si všichni spolu báječný večer. Doporučuji tuto restauraci, určitě tam zajděte!

Ich hatte noch nie so ein Gutes Schäufele, ein echter Gaumenschmaus kann ich nur empfehlen. Komme gerne wieder!

Nettes, uriges, sehr zentral gelegenes Café inmitten der Nürnberger Shoppingmeile. Bedienung zumindest bei meinem Besuch so ruppig und unfreundlich, dass es fast schon wieder Unterhaltungswert hatte. Aber eben nur fast.

Erst wurde der Kuchen vergessen, und beim bezahlen haben die etwas abgerechnet (Sahne zum Kuchen), was wir nicht bestellt haben. Auf die Dosensahne kann ich gut verzichten. Abkassiert wird aber sofort. Man kann nicht mal in Ruhe essen. Die Preise sind für die Leistung happig. Sprachkenntnisse sind teilweise schlecht. Hundekacke bei den Blumenkübel könnte man auch mal weg machen..

Good coffee and decent German menu!

Das Schäufele war nix besonderes, die Kruste war nicht knusprig sondern entweder wabbelig oder knochenhart. Die Soße war recht sauer für eine Bier-Soße aber die Gerichte die ich beim Warten gesehen habe sahen alle recht gut aus, vielleicht ist das Schäufele nicht die Stärke. Das Ambiente ist ganz ok, die Bänke und Tische sind bequem und super für Einzelpersonen (ich saß sehr gut und bequem) oder kleine Gruppen, zudem gibt es einen Bereich wo man mehrere Tische zusammenschließen könnte und eine große Tafel erstellen. Der Service war ok, aber wirklich willkommen hab ich mich nicht gefühlt und da die Angestellten keine Arbeitskleidung, Uniform oder einheitliche T-Shirts tragen, zumindest soweit ich das mitbekommen habe, konnte ich auch nicht wirklich sagen wer Gast und wer Kunde ist. Das war sehr interessant als von der Seite ein vermeintlicher Gast plötzlich nach meinen leeren Teller gegriffen hat und fragte ob es mir geschmeckt hat.

Schöne Location. Im Sommer mit Sitzgelegenheiten in der Fußgängerzone. Bedienung braucht deswegen manchmal etwas länger bis man bemerkt wird.

Nach einer langen Reise suchten wir nach einem Lokal. Wir haben unser Essen bestellt und alles war perfekt, fast alles... Die Preise sind soweit angemessen und auch das Ambiente. Es ist geräumig und gesellig. Ich habe deutlich mein Gericht bestellt. Es war ein Schweinegericht mit Knödel und als Beilage eine Portion Pommes. Ich bekamm aber nur das Hauptgericht mit Pommes. Die Knödel waren nicht auf dem Teller aufzufinden. Der größte Fehler den ein Restaurant/Lokal machen kann, ist ebenfalls geschehen. Meine Mutter bekamm das Essen nicht und wir waren fast fertig. Auf Nachfrage wurden wir informiert, dass das Gericht vertauscht wurde und sie es auf Wunsch nochmal gekocht haben. Wenn man schon ein Fehler macht, sollte man uns sofort informieren. Am Ende hat meine Mutter das Essen bekommen und sind mit wenig Trinkgeld gegangen. Das Essen schmeckt gut aber es ist unorganisiert und man spürt den Stress der Bedienung.

Unfreundliche, unhöfliche Bedienung, Personal streitet vor den Kunden, Bestellung dauert sehr lange und kommt erst auf Nachfrage vollständig, Produkte machen den Eindruck von Convenience Food (Soßen aus der Tüte/Flasche, Knödel aus der Tüte, Spätzle ebenfalls. Bauernsalat für 12,80 war ein Witz: Ein paar Blätter ertränkter grüner Salat, trockene Gurke, ein paar Krümel matschiger Feta und zwei trockene Stückchen Baguette.

Extrem schlechter Service. Bestellung dauerte ewig, es kamen die falschen Getränke. Kartenzahlung abgelehnt. Nie mehr!!!

Located in the city center, we got a plate of oven roasted pork in beer sauce with two dumplings that is known in this region. It was basically salty gravy over pork and glutinous rice ball but potato. Not my type of cuisine but I had to try. They are not vegetarian friendly but you’re able to request one dish. It’s a noodle cheese dish with fried onions.

I am really surprised to see that this restaurant has only 3 stars on TripAdvisor, I usually do not eat pork as more often than not I do not like the taste, but since I am in Germany I have decided to try a schweineschaufele with potato dumplings and sauerkraut. I received a very generous portion, so I was really sad that I could not finish all of it . Restaurant is quite central and is run by the family. If I am ever in Nuremberg again I will definitely be back

Das Mohr mag nicht das hippeste Restaurant in Nürnberg sein, aber wer fränkisch-bayrische Küche mag, der wird hier nicht enttäuscht. Das Essen ist sehr gut zubereitet, das Fleisch ist zart und gut gewürzt, allerdings sind die Portionen zu groß, aber das ist in der gut-bürgerlichen Küche ja normal. Schäufele: sehr gutes Fleisch Roulade: Fleisch zart und gut zubereitet, Blaukraut schmeckt gut Entenbrust auf deutsche Art: Fleisch wieder zart und gut, Knödel mit Toaststückchen gut und frisch Cordon Bleu: gut gemacht, aber 1 Stück würde völlig ausreichen

wir haben nichts gegessen, nur etwas getrunken. Leider war das Radler schon eingeschlafen und hat wie von gestern geschmeckt. Beim Lillet, das selbe, keine Kohlensäue im Getränk. Schmeckt wie eingeschlafene Füße. Sorry, das geht besser und das könnte man auch erwarten.
