I recommend it. Delicious food, nice atmosphere, good dark beer.

First of all, the portions were absolutely tiny! One dumpling for €20?! No one could possibly get full on that. Then, my girlfriend fished some insects out of her cocktail, and we discovered that there were loads of dead aphids or something similar floating in it. We returned the cocktail and still paid.

The "Moor" is centrally located and ideal for anyone exploring Nuremberg's city center. The small outdoor seating area is particularly charming and inviting – although it's not always completely private. The staff was consistently friendly during my visit. The menu offers a good selection of Franconian dishes that are worth trying. My only minor criticism: my dish was a bit too salty, but that's a matter of personal taste, of course. As one would expect from a centrally located restaurant, the prices are average for the city, but quite fair. The restrooms are clean and easily accessible. Those arriving by car will find parking in the surrounding parking garages, as there is no on-site parking. Overall, the "Moor" is a great place for an authentic Franconian meal in Nuremberg's Old Town.

The best home cooking. I had a Franconian roast pork with red cabbage and dumplings, which couldn't be better.

The pork shoulder is a must! Super soft meet. Creat crackling. And I typically shy away from port. Be careful with the house wine. Its too sweet. Beers are great. Cakes are home made and delicious!

We didn't think the pork knuckle was that great; about 90% of the rind was wobbly and not crispy. The service ranged from friendly to downright unfriendly, depending on the employee. We wouldn't go there again.

Save yourself a visit there. What happened to us was outrageous. We wanted to use the Schlemmerblock (snack bar), the lady brought us drinks, and for every dish we chose, she said they were either out of stock (e.g., Schäufele) or that the Schlemmerblock didn't apply. When we asked her why, she became very annoyed. In the end, we said that unfortunately we couldn't find anything and she asked us to pay for the drinks we hadn't touched. If you decide to participate in the Schlemmerblock (snack bar), you should treat your guests fairly. It's a shame. Hygiene: When we entered the restaurant and had to ask for a seat at the counter because no one came to us when we entered, I saw the waitress take the stopper from a Tetra Pak from a package in the trash (!) and screw it onto an already opened Tetra Pak on the counter. We should have left the restaurant by then.

More like -1 star. We went to the restaurant for dinner on a holiday. We got a table right away. When we ordered drinks, the elderly lady immediately bluffed us, saying they only had two non-alcoholic shandys (which we wanted anyway). She also told us in a sharp tone that the voucher book wasn't valid today! The service and friendliness were nonsensical. The food was borderline. The potato salad had no flavor at all, the fries were fried in old oil... I don't want to say anything about the schnitzel... 😕 The staff generally seemed very unfriendly and overwhelmed. My plate was simply taken away without asking, even though there was still something on it. Summary: Once and never again!

I like to go there just to drink a beer and watch the people

We were guests one weekday evening with three people and got a table straight away without a reservation. The lady who served us seemed a bit brusque and unfriendly at first. With a bit of charm, we were able to strike up a short conversation in which she explained that the second server for the evening simply didn't show up without notifying them, and that's why things were in chaos. It's unfortunate, of course, but in a restaurant with such a reputation, it's also a shame that there's no plan B in the event of a sudden staff shortage. So the lady had to look after the entire dining room on her own, which was obviously and understandably difficult for her. When we wanted to split the bill, this was met with little enthusiasm, so to avoid further resentment, I covered the entire bill, and we settled the amount between ourselves after leaving the restaurant. We weren't particularly impressed by the restaurant's decor, and going to the restroom should be done with as little alcohol as possible – the entire corridor is completely mirrored, which also doesn't quite fit with the overall concept of the restaurant. The quality of the food served was excellent and convincing, with the exception of the chanterelle cream soup. The price/performance ratio was absolutely reasonable for the location. The restaurant, table settings, and restrooms were clean and in good condition. Overall, we can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience. :)

We were there for the first time today. It's very centrally located in the city. The food was delicious, and the salads and other items were fresh and crisp. We had the Schlemmerblock voucher, which meant the price for four people, including drinks, was just over €60. Otherwise, the average price per person would probably be between €20 and €30. The prices are perfectly reasonable for the quality and freshness of the food. The restaurant is located in the pedestrian zone, which makes it a bit difficult to get there, but there's a parking garage about a three-minute walk away. It was very nice!

Stopped in for lunch while shopping with the wife and children. The waitress was super helpful and friendly. Soup, schnitzel and Schaufele were all delicious. Thank you for a great afternoon!

Small, cozy restaurant with typical Franconian food and very friendly service.

I imagined the food would be better. My 10-year-old daughter ordered a schnitzel. It was very small, with no salad and only a handful of fries. After half an hour, she was hungry again. The food itself was okay, but I don't need to go there again. We went there with the Schlemmer Block (snack menu). Unfortunately, we were only served half the food: two small slices of roast and two dumplings. The table next to us ordered the same roast and had twice the amount. And the price—well, if it tasted good, then the price would be fair. So, that was our first and very last time there.

A lovely restaurant in the city center. You can find a seat inside, outside, or in the middle. The food wasn't sensational, but it was still good; there was nothing to complain about. The service was very attentive and friendly, which deserves high praise. All in all, the restaurant is highly recommended.

It was our first time there, while passing through. The welcome didn't seem particularly euphoric or friendly. Perhaps this was because we were accompanied by a 10-month-old baby and a 4-year-old child, who are naturally a bit more lively. We were assigned a seat by the large, open window. When we asked whether the window could perhaps be closed more effectively, as it was quite cold outside, no one came. The food was OK, but not much more. The dumplings are actually much, much better in Bavaria. Side dishes (red cabbage or similar) have to be ordered separately and, of course, paid for. This made the overall price almost prohibitive. Things got interesting when the four-year-old child knocked over a glass, which unfortunately shattered on the floor. Everyone heard it - no one came. Normally in such a case, a cellar attendant comes and asks if everything is OK, if it needs a rag or something similar. Here - NOTHING. For now. After 5 minutes, a woman came out of the kitchen, stood about 1.5 meters from the table, looked at the mess, and left. There's still a lot of room for improvement in terms of staffing. The restroom was dirty. Not recommended.

Unfortunately, the roast was less tender and heavily oversalted. The gravy was too watery, but the service was wonderful and the location was fantastic. I can't recommend the Moor for a large hot meal, but it's definitely great as a shopping stop!

After it became known that I had a voucher block, there was no more Schäufele even though it had been said beforehand that there were still some.

We wanted to eat Schäufele at Mohr yesterday and asked before ordering if they still had Schäufele. The waiter immediately confirmed, but when we revealed that we were Schlemmerblock owners, the Schäufele was no longer available. We immediately left the restaurant. Simply outrageous. Other guests apparently felt the same way, as can be read in a previous review.

First we wanted something from the daily menu (steak with chanterelles) but it wasn't available... then we wanted a schaufele, which wasn't available either. Then we decided on pork knuckle, which they did have. The Coke I ordered wasn't carbonated and tasted completely awful. I returned it and got a new one that had the same problem. The waitress hardly spoke German and didn't understand what the problem was. I was fed up and left the Coke alone. It really wasn't drinkable. You can sit outside in the middle of town, which is nice. The food was okay, but nothing more. Other restaurants usually serve a side salad, but that wasn't the case here.

The portions are too small for the price. The shashlik skewers for €19.90 were more like a child's portion. The two dumplings that accompanied the Schäuferlä (a kind of dumpling) weren't even the size of a tennis ball. The taste was average. With the voucher book, it was okay. No risk of repeating.

The food was very simple, which may have been due to the fact that we were there with the gourmet menu. Other restaurants have put a lot more effort into it. Unfortunately, the service was also unfriendly, and we won't be going back to the Moor.

Four of us went out to dinner and waited over an hour for our food. 😏 When I asked the older waitress, she just snapped that it probably wouldn't be any faster at home. Finally, the food arrived (the noodles were too hard in my opinion, and the portion was relatively small for the price), but only for three people. After repeated requests, the fourth meal didn't arrive until everyone else had already eaten. We sent it back. But not only we, but several other guests also complained. Conclusion: Chaotic, the older lady was extremely unfriendly, and the food was simply too expensive for the size.

Absolutely disaster. We went there hoping for a good dinner. Old lady (maybe owner) met us very rude, diddnot speak English, I can speak some German so this was not a problem. We ordered, 1 hour later there was nothing on the table. We could not get the attention of a waiter, could not ask what is wrong, other tables started complaining in German about their food, which actually came but who knows what was wrong. Would not repeat and not recommend at all.

Four of us went here, and after 1.5 hours, three people had their food. Unfortunately, it wasn't particularly good. The waiters don't speak German, and the older lady was beyond unfriendly. Absolutely not a recommendation. A complete disaster.

Had a pork schnitzel and potato salad which was solid, home cook level. Can’t give more than 3 stars as I make the same if not better version at home. Okay for a lunch, I had my expectations set a bit too high given the rating here.

We would have liked to give it 4.5 stars. We showed up with five people without a reservation and still got a seat. The knuckle of pork and shoulder of pork were great, the shashlik skewers were tasty, but not quite the right value for money. The staff is friendly and attentive. All in all, a clear recommendation for people who don't expect fancy stuff.

We spontaneously went into town in the evening and searched for a good restaurant on Google. Here we came across the moor. Spontaneously went there around 6 p.m. and got a table. The food and service were really very good. Exactly at the time of our visit, a demonstration was taking place directly in front of the restaurant or the route passed here. The music was really extremely loud, but since it was all over relatively quickly - it was more of an interesting impression than annoying.

Price performance was great for a big city

The ambience is strongly reminiscent of better times. We were there spontaneously, without a reservation, on a Sunday lunchtime and got a seat. Service wasn't the friendliest we've experienced. Food was okay, but there is still room for improvement. It's a shame that there is no side salad with the knuckle and Schäuferle. Dumplings could be a little bigger.

Really tasty Schäufele! The pork was tender and flavorful, with crispy crackling that added a satisfying crunch. We happened to pass the restaurant as we were in Nuremberg for 3 days. “Das Moor” is a quaint little restaurant that has probably already had its heyday. The food was tasty, but nothing special. I don't think the price-performance ratio is right at all. The service lacks friendliness and, above all, a "smile" on the face. It's a bit chaotic because the kitchen staff also brings the food to the table but doesn't really have a plan where to put it. We wouldn't come back again.

Outstanding! I'm here from Bremen for a weekend, the trip was worth it just for the "Schäufele with dumplings". Meat very tender and delicious in taste. Meatballs stuffed with a piece of bread are also very good.

Kleine gemütliche Gaststätte im Herzen von Nürnberg. Service war sehr zuvorkommend. Hatten nicht reserviert, Rotbier. ( das ich bisher nicht kannte ), ist sehr süffig. Schäufele sehr zu empfehlen, mit selbst gemachten Kartoffelknödel und dunkler Soße. Wer nach fränkischer Küche im Zentrum von Nürnberg sucht wird hier fündig.

Typical restaurant, typical cuisine, cheaper than others in the center, not in the tourist/fair area. Of course, courtesy is not a skill, but it could be improved.

Basically a nice place. Unfortunately that's the only positive thing. There is room for improvement in the service. The quantity and quality of the food left a lot to be desired. I had shish kebab with fries, almost looked like a children's portion. My wife had schnitzel with potato salad. The schnitzel was small and the potato salad was spoiled (you could already smell it). Our companion had knuckle with dumplings. I have no idea what kind of dumplings they were, at least not Franconian. We, Nuremberg residents, were traveling with the Schlemmerblock and will never enter this restaurant again. We reported the potato salad thing but it was blamed on vinegar, which was definitely not it.

We were also here with the Schlemmerblock and got the answer that the Schäufele was closed. One was taken out less than 10 minutes later and it was found by chance. The food was okay, but the service was subpar. Then the company simply shouldn't be part of the gourmet block, with these self-made special rules.

Through the Schlemmerblock we spontaneously returned to the former "cult location" in the middle of Nbg. I find the restaurant itself very cozy, but it's not for wheelchair users or people with walking difficulties because the entrance doesn't have much space and you have to squeeze through (plus long stairs to the toilets). There were 3 of us and we all ordered Schäufele. Then it said “only 1”. One of them then switched to the goose breast - but he wasn't allowed to have it because of the gourmet block (although you always pay for the most expensive dish, so that would have been OK since everything else was cheaper!?). After a back and forth and the explanation, the goose was accepted, 1 Schäufele was converted into a roast pork, since there was only "1". Why this was handled this way, I have no idea, because a guest at the next table after us still got a Schäufele.. Positive: since our fourth guest couldn't come spontaneously, we were allowed to take the second cheap dish with us! (We had 2 blocks with us). The goose was probably quite lukewarm, but it wasn't passed on to the service - but we didn't try it either and so relied on what they said. The shovel and roast pork were really very tasty, the sauce was hearty (not recommended for salt-reduced eaters😅) and the quantity was more than sufficient. However, it remains a mystery to me why the side dishes are being reduced more and more: the dumplings are the size of a table tennis ball, but dumpling dough isn't necessarily expensive and there shouldn't be any savings here, especially in Bavaria. It's better to have just 600g of meat than 800g and a little more side dish instead, as the host ultimately earns more ^^🤣 The schnitzel with potato salad for the fourth guest was also quite good. So gladly again, because it's really nice to sit here, but the thing with the gourmet block is often very borderline and the discussions shouldn't actually have to be had. Bad "advertising" when you dictate what you can and can't eat!

Bei 6 Nürnberger Bratwürst mit Kraut muss man das Brot extra dazubestellen. Und das im Herzen von Nürnberg. Traurig. Hatten nicht das Gefühl willkommen zu sein. Immerhin - das Weizen vom Fass war gut. Ansonsten enttäuschend.

Once and never again! The toilet was overcooked, the sauerkraut was lukewarm and the Nuremberg sausages were not sufficiently fried. Unfortunately, the waitress (older lady with an accent) was very rude and didn't even want to offer another side dish for a dish - the guest pays you for it! By the way, you shouldn't have an argument or something similar between the staff within earshot of the guests, it seems very unprofessional! The menus were covered in fat finger tappers. The price-performance ratio is simply not good for what is on offer. Conclusion: You can certainly have a quick drink here, but definitely not eat! P. S. I am very sure that the chef has no idea about Franconian cuisine.

The dishes were delicious and well-prepared, with fresh ingredients and great flavors. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and efficient. Everything was served promptly, and the staff made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to visiting again!

The food was solid. I had the Sauerbraten where the potato dumplings were a little too soft, the sauce wasn't enough and the Sauerbraten wasn't seasoned enough. I also found it a shame that they asked if we wanted sauerkraut with the meal and it wasn't clear that this was only possible with an additional charge. Beer was delicious, atmosphere was very cozy, service was very friendly. But I wouldn't come back.

The staff wasn't too kind. In addition, when the elderly waitress realized that we had come with Schlemmerblock 2025, she was generally unhappy. The young waitress looked scared and didn't know anything. A glass of beer 0.4 costs 4.80 euros, you can take 1l for 9 euros. I'm not happy with the beer. The shank was very tasty, a little overcooked in the oven. The portion is quite large. I don't think I'll be back behind the wheel again.

Quaint shop, the service seemed a bit confused and overwhelmed, but the shop was also well attended. We were there on Sunday evening with 8 adults and 2 children, reservations went smoothly. Portions were ok, prices were reasonable for Nuremberg city center. Taste good but nothing special.

It costs more than 20 euros to swipe the card I ordered 17 euros and when I checked out, the old lady said at first that I couldn’t pay by credit card. So I asked if I could transfer money because I didn't have any cash. She just mentioned the rules above and then pressed 20 They didn't ask me if I wanted to add more, so they just charged me 3 euros more for nothing. How much do Germans dislike being charged fees by banks? I don’t like being overcharged either.

Well, it smelled a bit strange in the guest room. The meal was divided into two parts! Schäufala & knuckles and sauce were very good. The sauerkraut was terrible, just warmed up from a can, no salt, pepper or anything else!! The potato salad had spoiled, had a sting, you could smell it and of course taste it!! Schnitzel was very small, for 16 euros!!

We were there spontaneously on Monday lunchtime without a reservation and were warmly welcomed and given a table straight away. The food was super tasty and the portions were big enough to fill you up. A younger and an older waitress looked after us warmly. Price/performance great, for 2 soups, 2 drinks and 2 main courses €44, totally fine. Can definitely recommend it.
