Super Essen, schöne Einrichtung. Leider lässt der Service absolut zu wünschen übrig. Wir haben uns nicht gut aufgehoben gefühlt und werden dieses Restaurant nicht weiterempfehlen. Die Art und Weise, wie auf Rezensionen mit niedriger Bewertung eingegangen wird, ist sehr unprofessionell.

The old guild barn is known for its restaurant in the rustic wine cellar. The food was super tasty. The service was friendly and accommodating!

We ate very well there. The side salad offered was fresh and could be put together yourself. The Loretta pan I chose was very tasty and plentiful. I was able to easily swap the intended spaetzle for mashed potatoes. I would eat there again at any time. I can't say anything about the rooms because we didn't live there.

We found it very nice. Unfortunately booked up very quickly. We didn't get a table until two days later (which on the other hand is a good sign). The atmosphere and especially the cellar are very, very rustic. Very successful.

Absolutely recommended inn. We had dinner there on our last evening in Traben-Trarbach and were really impressed. We had a nice spot on the roof garden, which was really beautifully kept. Service was great and the food was really great too.

It's okay, but to be honest we expected more. The restaurant is really quaint with all the “nonsense”, but despite having a reservation, we sat at a very narrow table below a loudly creaking wooden staircase, where someone was walking down or up every minute. It wasn't really a relaxed atmosphere. The staff seemed very rushed, which didn't make things any better. The food was okay, but nothing more. We had two meat dishes and a large salad. The salad bar is (as already written in another review) really old school and the selection is quite manageable and monotonous. It's a shame, but we won't be coming back again.

Very cozy restaurant. We sat in the courtyard. This is very beautifully planted. The food was also very tasty and the service was very nice. We were lucky that we got there early, otherwise a reservation is definitely recommended.

Nice evening, but nothing more. Despite having a reservation, we stood around stupidly for a while until our table was ready. The conditions were quite brisk and a bit rushed. The food was consistently good, but nothing special. It was also a bit annoying that our main courses didn't come at the same time (there were a good 10 minutes between the first and last course).

The beautiful decor of the jet restaurant and the tasty dishes for a fair price ensure a pleasant experience. Definitely worth a try. The menu is as you would expect in many places in Germany. Limited but solid.

The atmosphere is inviting and really great. The service is quite quick and solid. What is extremely bad for me is that industrially pre-cooked and pre-cut potatoes are served as fried potatoes. The pasta was also ordered with 'pesto', but this wasn't even close to pesto, but rather vegetable broth mixed with oil and fresh spring onions. All in all, this is a slap in the face for any real chef. It's a shame and therefore not recommended for eating. The accompanying schnitzel was perhaps enough for children. Everything is acceptable for low prices, but for these prices I don't even begin to see the basics of cooking.

never again! Went there with the family for the first time and went home dissatisfied. I wanted to give the guild barn a second chance with my friend these days. Half of my schnitzel was completely raw, the meat was very hard and in my opinion not particularly tasty and the fries were unfortunately very salty. Many plates were returned that day. As beautiful as it is there, unfortunately I won't go there again.

Restaurant is te betreden met een handbewogen rolstoel (drempel van ong 20 cm), geen aangepast sanitair. Verrukkelijk gegeten(wij gingen allemaal voor een andere schnitzel, heerlijke opgebakken aardappeltjes en salade erbij) zeer vriendelijke bediening. Wij hadden op de dag zelf gereserveerd. Was ook echt nodig de een na de ander werd teleurgesteld.

I can't say anything about the rooms because we ate in the guild barn. The location is really nice and there is something to discover on every corner. We sat outside on the terrace upstairs and found it really great and cozy. The service was quick and attentive despite the walking distance. The food was really great, reasonable portions and value for money was very reasonable. Small deduction for the salad buffet. In my opinion, it was no longer up to date and because of where we sat and the program for the whole day, we were no longer willing to take the walk. But that is my personal opinion. Otherwise really great and highly recommended.

Goed gegeten in een vriendelijke ambiance. Smakelijke feta voorgerecht en forel-filet als hoofdgerecht. Jammer dat de filet niet vers gemaakt is. Verse forel in zijn geheel op je bord is toch stuk beter. Smakelijke citroensorbet.

We had dinner in the restaurant with six people. We were served very tasty food in the rustic, cozy dining room. The staff is very friendly and quick. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. You can find lovingly furnished decorations everywhere. You don't know where to look first. If we come to Traben-Trabach again, we would be happy to come back.

The Old Guild Barn is like a museum and impresses with its historic vaulted cellars and the atmosphere full of antiques. Pre-booking is recommended to ensure one can enjoy this romantic location. Particularly noteworthy is the unique self-service salad bar, where each salad is refined with a different dressing. The service is attentive and friendly. A visit to the Old Guild Barn is a special experience that wonderfully combines history and culinary delights.

I can't contribute anything to the accommodation because I didn't use it. The restaurant is rustically furnished and cozy; However, it is quite narrowly furnished. As a rule, you cannot get a table without a reservation. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. But I can't say that I haven't eaten better anywhere. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed with the service. The women seemed quite rushed. The food came after about 1 hour and not at the same time. Considering that you are booked in a “two-hour time slot,” that can be tight. Unfortunately only 3 stars...

It's a beautiful restaurant with a vaulted cellar and you just feel comfortable there. I can only recommend this restaurant.

Das Essen und der Service am Tisch war Top. Leider hat sich das Blatt beim bezahlen beendet. Hier wurden wir von einer anderen Kollegin sehr frech und unfreundlich abgefertigt. Leider hat so der schlechte letzte Eindruck das eigentlich tolle Essen in den Hintergrund gerückt.

Rustic ambience, suitable for traditional German food. We found it to be normal/reasonable in terms of price. However, poor service + 1 hour waiting time for food, no more drinks were received with the meal. The waitress kindly pointed out the criticism at the end, but unfortunately it wasn't received; instead, the fault was blamed on the guests. We would have liked open communication, so we ordered an appetizer and a bottle of wine instead of individual glasses.

First of all, if you come spontaneously your chances are bad, you should definitely make a reservation in advance (the restaurant is very popular). The furnishings are very rustic and charming, thanks to the old half-timbered beams and the carefully selected decoration. Even though the store was very busy, it was still possible to have a good conversation. The curtain behind the entrance door is also very practical, as you can sit very comfortably even in the entrance area. The food is in no way inferior to the ambience. We once had cheese cubes for a starter, the grill plate, sirloin steak, an extra portion of bacon beans for the main course and a crème brûlée and strawberries with ice cream for dessert. All in all, we were very satisfied with the food and can recommend it with a clear conscience. The Mosel wine was usually very good and the waitresses can give good recommendations. The price is reasonable and not too expensive either.

Trinkgeld geht nur Bar und Kreditkarte wird nicht akzeptiert...und das in Zeiten, wo die Banken gar keine Maestrokarren mehr ausgeben. Und dann muss man 5 Euro für die angeblich anfallenden Gebühren zahlen ...nachdem man am Tisch 450€ gelassen hat...und dann wird man noch im Laden blöd hingestellt, als ob man diesen Irrsinn nicht verstehen würde....Kunden- und gastfreundlich ist anders

The food and service are great, but customer-friendly is different... You leave over €450 at the table and then have to pay credit card fees... that's a false economy. And then you portray the customers as stupid because you don't want to understand the madness. And that in times when banks no longer issue EC cards....sad

We were there for lunch on a hot sunny day. When i booked online, I did not see an option to indicate we'd prefer to eat outside. I should have called, because we had to eat inside eventually. The schnitzel we ordered were somewhat good, but we had to wait an hour for them to arrive. They did not warn us, and we had to beg twice to finally get some bread to feed our starving children in the meantime. I did not find this to be a kid friendly place. Last but not least, they do not seem to accept credit card...

Nice atmosphere. But the quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. Among other things, frozen croquettes, ready-made sauces and other convenience products are served. Not worth the money in my opinion.

When making the reservation, I stated that we would be coming with a dog and asked that we sit in a corner if possible so that we don't have to constantly walk past the dog. We had the perfect table for dog owners 🙏 When we arrived at the table there was already a little treat waiting for the dog. The waitress was nice and attentive. Drinks were taken immediately and brought to the table within a few minutes. Since we wanted a side salad, we were allowed to help ourselves to a bowl at the salad buffet. The main course didn't take long to arrive either (grill plates and barn pans), even though the restaurant didn't have a single free table left. A few weeks ago we had dinner in the old guild barn by chance and because the rustic ambience, the excellent service and the extremely tasty food won us over from the first second, we became repeat offenders with conviction. Whenever we are near Traben-Trarbach, a visit to the old guild barn is an absolute must for us ☺️ The service is extremely attentive, friendly and always in a good mood. The selection of dishes is home-style and has a Moselle-Franconian touch. The “pan dishes” are particularly highly recommended. There are also vegetarian dishes and delicious desserts. There is a sufficient selection of fresh salads from the buffet. The food is freshly prepared and therefore it can take a little longer, but don't worry, the time of waiting flies by, because in the old guild barn the term "The eye eats with you" takes on a completely different meaning. It is not only an excellent restaurant, but also a museum of historical hodgepodge from times long past. You can't get enough of the many exhibits and before you know it, food is on the table. Peeking in all public areas of the restaurant is expressly desired - as long as you don't disturb other guests 😉 You can't take in everything in one visit, the collection is so extensive and interesting. The exhibition is not only limited to the guest room, but also to the gallery, the large historical cellar vaults and the romantic barn garden. No matter where you look, there is something to discover everywhere. Just unbelievable. There is even an eight meter deep well in one of the cellar vaults. A visit to the old guild barn is worth it just for the ambience, as the food almost becomes an afterthought, but that does it an injustice, because that too is at least as bombastic as the rustic decor of the restaurant. ℹ️ Since the restaurant is only open in the evenings from 5 p.m. and is closed for two days, it is always very busy. It is advisable to reserve a table (also possible online), especially on weekends. During the week, the chance of getting a free table for two people is slightly greater 😉 🅿️ There are no direct parking spaces at the restaurant, but there are plenty of parking spaces in town and on the Moselle, where after a short walk you can reach the center of the Traben district and the old guild barn. ♿ The main guest room is wheelchair accessible, although it is a bit cramped in some places and there is a small step at the entrance. The vaulted cellars, the gallery and the barn garden, however, can only be reached via several steps. 🚸 For children there are coloring books, plug-in toys and, on a board, a written note to parents that they should keep a special eye on the children, because if they dart through the rooms unsupervised, dangerous situations can arise . The rooms are too cluttered for that and the risk of something breaking or a collision with the service is simply far too great 😅 💳 Card payment is possible ➡️ Conclusion: A quaint, highly recommended restaurant with excellent service and very tasty dishes. Perfect all around and therefore five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
