Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. When we came in, the owner was very rude to us. The place was very busy. As a former restaurant worker, I understand the stress of a lunch rush. But taking it out on guests is just unacceptable. The rest of the staff was okay, albeit not very professional. The food was average at best, which was disappointing given the price tag. The only nice thing about this place is the amazing view from the terrace. But overall, it was a very bad experience!
Were there last night with 7 people. The atmosphere is a bit rustic but with charm. The staff was very nice and helpful. Our waitress was really great, the drinks came very quickly, the starters and main courses also came very quickly. Very tasty and large portions. The cocktails are also recommended. A really nice evening. Thank you for that!
First there was chicken broth, with some meat, vegetables and mini Maultaschen. The broth was helped with powder, but given the price there is no other way to do it.
The bolognaise was free of vegetable strips, in my opinion also onions and a real tomato taste. Vegetables and onions would also depress the EK. And canned tomatoes too. That's how it went
A little piece of Italy! The food is incredibly delicious and the boss is super nice. You immediately feel welcome and can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine. Absolutely recommended!🍝🍕🥗🍷
The Jägerschnitzel tasted good, was fried a little dark, but wasn't that bad. I was much more surprised at the price/performance ratio, when the nice waitress brought me my schnitzel, I had to wonder because I thought I had ordered the children's schnitzel, but it was actually the normal size, so for 20 euros a mini schnitzel with a handful of fries, I think it's a little cheeky and I'm talking about a pork schnitzel and not a veal schnitzel, but feel free to see for yourself, you could eat it.
We go there more or less regularly for dinner and appreciate the authentic atmosphere. However, organizational difficulties often arise, especially on weekends. These lead to long waits or forgotten dishes.
On my last visit, my wife waited two hours for mushrooms with aioli. After a delay, when I finally asked around 10:00 PM, they told me they were out of mushrooms.
The tapas platter I ordered was good, but my wife left more or less empty-handed. This criticism is not personal, but rather an incentive to improve service.
An absolute insider tip! This Italian restaurant on the hill above Gelnhausen not only offers excellent food at great value for money, but also breathtaking views over the Main-Kinzig Valley. The terrace is beautifully situated, ideal for a relaxing break. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive – you feel completely at home. We'll definitely be back!
Unfortunately, Da Luigi has slacked off a lot. The pizza was very good a few years ago and we ordered often. Now it is more expensive, very limp, often underbaked and cheap ingredients are used (tasteless cheese, watery pineapple, etc.). Unfortunately, customer friendliness has also decreased significantly. Unfortunately we will no longer be ordering here.
Closed for months. There are always new signs with strange sayings (currently scheduled to be open again from October 25th, 2024). If open, the opening hours are such that you cannot go there as a working person.
On my last visit months ago the food was very poor. Small menu (which I think is good at first), then some dishes are not in stock. What I then received were complete finished products and no work from the kitchen. They were particularly proud of the salad dressing they bought! I can do that better. It's a shame, because it was a great location in Calimero's time.
Five of us spontaneously went there yesterday. We sat outside in the nice weather. Good, fast service, and excellent food. They had no problem serving hot food late in the afternoon. We'd be happy to go again.
