Ristorante Zum Paradies in Gelnhausen

I've been there three times since June and have been satisfied every time. Whether it's pizza, pasta, steak, or schnitzel, everything tastes great. Only the tagliatelle with salmon had too much garlic on it for me, but that's ultimately a matter of taste. We definitely recommend it, and we'll definitely be back. If you want to be on the safe side, make a reservation in advance, especially if you're coming with several people.

We've been there a few times recently, and I can't say anything negative about the restaurant. Whether it's rump steak, schnitzel, pizza, or pasta, all the dishes in all their variations are super delicious and, above all, plentiful! You really get your fill, and the food is served promptly, even when the place is full. The backdrop of the Kinzig Valley also makes it worth stopping by again and again.

A very, very good Italian restaurant, the best I know. Huge covered terrace with a great view and a pleasant interior. Plenty of space even for larger groups. Great food selection, from simple salami pizza and spaghetti Napoli to Argentinian rump steak – cooked to perfection – they have it all. My recommendation: tagliatelle made from a cheese wheel with fresh truffles. Seasonal specials, for example, during asparagus season or currently with chanterelle mushrooms.

We had previously been to the Bad Orb thermal baths. We were looking for a place for lunch that we would gladly return to. We hit the jackpot with our first visit to this paradise. A very friendly welcome from the manager. Excellent service from the staff. First-class food. Sensational panoramic view over the Kinzig Valley.

I've been there twice now. One pizza was too bland. The other schnitzel was very good. The house schnapps seems to be handed out on a whim. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't, despite generous tips.

The pizza was meh, the schnitzel was pretty good. A bit expensive. The waitress was quite confused, had trouble with math, and tried to make us pay for a Coke we didn't have.

It's often said, "You can't have everything," but in this restaurant, that's definitely true 😀. The ambiance is fantastic. The restaurant is located at the top of the mountain, and you can look out over Gelnhausen. Especially when it's dark, the view is fantastic. There are plenty of comfortable tables both inside and outside, and the overall atmosphere is very pleasant. The service is fantastic. All the men were incredibly friendly. And best of all: the food tastes really, really good. We had two pizzas and one schnitzel, and we were all absolutely satisfied. If you haven't been here yet, you should definitely do so. We'll definitely be back!

We were there today with 14 people, including three children – everything was absolutely perfect. The service was prompt without being intrusive, and when the food arrived, we were served to four people. When a thunderstorm started, the ladies with their shoulders off were given blankets. You won't find service like this anywhere. A solid A+.

Beautiful location with a fantastic view above Gelnhausen. Easy to find with navigation. Outside at the edge of the forest. Very large, therefore slightly stripped card. Good in pizza, lasagna, pasta. No specialties like Saltimbocca or Vitello Tonnato. All in all good. Large portions. Leftovers are packed up. Thank you for that. Despite the busy atmosphere, friendly and quick. Good and appealing for a destination. Dessert was disappointing, unfortunately. Please revise the tiramisu recipe. Classic only with mascarpone please. Filled chocolate cake was a muffin with chocolate sauce on top. Change the description and it will be fine.

The service in the restaurant is really good: friendly and attentive. The fantastic view is particularly noteworthy—a place where you'll want to sit a little longer and enjoy the view. However, the whole thing comes at a price. Around €20 per person gets you a drink and a meal, which is okay for the quality, but certainly not cheap. If you value a good atmosphere and friendly service and are willing to pay a little more for that, this is the place for you.

Whenever we're nearby, we like to go there because of the great view. The food is good, but I don't like a lot of Parmesan cheese on the dishes.

An absolute insider tip! This Italian restaurant on the hill above Gelnhausen not only offers excellent food at great value for money, but also breathtaking views over the Main-Kinzig Valley. The terrace is beautifully situated, ideal for a relaxing break. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive – you feel completely at home. We'll definitely be back!

My wife and I went there for lunch. We had reserved a table. It only took a short time for us to get the menus and be asked for our drinks. It didn't take forever for the food to arrive either. The food itself was truly excellent. The ambiance is pleasant and the atmosphere quite tranquil. The terrace offers a wonderful view of the Kinzig Valley.

The location in the middle of the forest & the view over the Kinzigtal - simply fantastic... In the early 80s there was a beer garden with wooden folding chairs where there was Äppler & Handkäse... What became of it: A blast... Everyone should see for themselves!

Beautiful excursion restaurant with a breathtaking view over the Kinzigtal. It's just unique in the region. The food is very good in terms of price/performance ratio. Unfortunately, the food has changed little to nothing in recent years. They rely on ratings, which is a shame because Mediterranean cuisine has more to offer. However, you can't go wrong if you stop by there. The service and the friendliness with which you are welcomed is very good. The various events with dinner and entertainment are also recommended.

If you want to enjoy the sun and peace, this is the right place for you. The large terrace invites you to linger and the service is very nice. The pizza tastes great. Unfortunately I didn't really like the truffle pasta. They were too greasy and very dry at the same time. I would love to come back for another dish!

Nice restaurant. Location, view, service and food are very good. One star deducted because the restaurant is harder to reach (narrow streets up a hill, critical with oncoming traffic). This has nothing to do with the restaurant per se, but it still had to be said.

August Went to paradise again with wonderful weather and a great view, this time we ate the “Paradise” pizza, it was super tasty, simply the best pizza far and wide. Update October - Today I made a salad with chicken breast, super tasty. Great weather and view. Update 03/2025 Ate another Pizza Diavolo in great weather. Simply outstanding. That's why I like to drive the 75 km.

Very pumped prices and very little choice on Valentine's Day! Staff was also a bit annoying, asking 5 times in 3 minutes if we were ready... I had the feeling they wanted us to leave quickly. Well 40€ for a portion of pasta and schnitzel without salad... Never again

We wanted to have a nice dinner with my boyfriend on Valentine's Day. They made a special Valentine's Day menu where there were simply 10 main courses and perhaps 5 starters. I've had stomach surgery and I'll never be able to eat a normal portion. Wanted to eat a salad. There was nothing on this menu, no salad, no soup. It was a pasta dish. And a pizza that was the choice and 4-5 different meat dishes with side dishes but unfortunately that's not an option for me. I find that extremely embarrassing from a restaurant. The glass pane was full of stains where I could enjoy a view of the garden chairs that were stacked on top of each other... Then comes the dot on the i. I have to take a break between dinner and 5-6 waiters in 10 minutes asked 5 times, each of them asking me that I'm done now, should I pack up? no, just a break? One took the plates from my friend and he just took a break with me. Unprofessional. Dirty.

I regularly eat here with my customers for work. Mostly at lunchtime it's not too crowded but always busy. The waiters are attentive and the food comes quickly. The large appetizer platters are very popular with my customers. We like to come here every few weeks.

First of all - based on the location with the view over the Kinzigtal alone, one should rate it better, but after our experience yesterday I unfortunately have to make deductions here. We had an express reservation confirmation (by email and telephone) for Boxing Day at 1 p.m. When we arrived they suddenly said we were too early, we were booked in at 1:30 p.m. and the previous guests were still at the table. We (4 adults, 3 teenagers and 1 baby) had to wait in front of the counter at used tables, there was no service to bridge the waiting time. Our table was in the middle of the next room, quite cramped and almost unbearably loud. Despite a number of wait staff, we had to wait almost 30 minutes for drinks and another hour for food. Unfortunately, the food was pretty bland, especially the pasta lacked salt. Yes, it was a holiday, but if you let the service and food suffer because of it, you have to reduce the number of reservations. We can certainly imagine visiting again in the summer to eat pizza on the terrace, but not on a public holiday.

Very tasty food with many different loving dishes. My personal highlight is the spaghetti tossed in a parmesan loaf with black truffles. The boss is usually present and very friendly, the staff is very service-oriented and accommodating. In summer there is a huge, beautiful, partially covered outdoor area. The monthly(?) dinner theater also sounds interesting. But we've never been there before. We come here for dinner very often and are almost never disappointed! Very child-friendly, prices slightly high, but appropriate for the excellent food!

Hello, it's been a long time since I went out to eat again, but due to Corona, nothing was really possible. So reserve a table two days in advance and head to paradise, the reputation is pretty good, or rather it was!?! I've rarely seen something so careless, there was no table reservation, so the search for a free table began, despite the reservation... Outrageous! The waiter slapped the rather unspectacular menu on the table and upside down, which is not what I describe as “attentive” and “great service”. However, the food was better! The noodles tasted almost the same even though we ordered completely different dishes. If you compare service and taste to the price, it's a pharmacy. I really imagine paradise differently!

The waiters are very on the ball and extremely friendly and helpful if, for example. B. has questions about certain dishes. Conclusion: For a restaurant with this fantastic location up on the mountain in Gelnhausen, the prices are moderate and the quality is still absolutely first-class. It couldn't be better or tastier! Eating there is a wonderful experience for all the senses. Or as an Italian would say: Solo meraviglioso!
