The plaice is highly recommended, the service was attentive, and the value for money was absolutely reasonable. We were very satisfied.

It was a very good idea for us to stop at Uncle Johnny's! Good wine recommendation from the seavice staff! Will definitely come back there on our next visit.

A restaurant with a lovely ambiance and a cool idea. The two of us had the iismeer menu, which includes a grilled skewer and various side dishes and appetizers per person. The appetizers alone were almost filling, and the subsequent main course of skewer, salad, and a side of potatoes was even too much for us. The staff is very friendly, and the overall atmosphere is extremely cozy. My only criticism: The pears on the tuna skewer were challenging in many ways.

Can only rate the restaurant. The restaurant is well and lovingly furnished and idyllically located by the village pond. We had Wiener Schnitzel with asparagus. The potatoes served with it were just as hard as the asparagus. There was a mini schnitzel underneath the rich breading. The hollandaise sauce was almost 100% melted butter and gave the food the taste of biting into a piece of butter. The price was even higher. In comparable restaurants not far away you can get schnitzels three times the size for 10 euros less on the bill. It's a shame, maybe the chef just had a bad day. We were served after dinner. In our opinion, the price/performance ratio was unfortunately not right here at all.

Inspired by the good menu, I went to Meeresblick for the first time today. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere in the Friesenstube is very nice, very homely and makes you feel good. I ordered the Sylter Galloway roulade with truffled savoy cabbage and mashed potatoes. Plus a glass of Pinot Noir. The roulade and the jus were very well crafted, as were the savoy cabbage (very nicely presented) and the mashed potatoes. Overall, all components lacked spices, especially salt. The jus wasn't great, but it had significantly more potential. Unfortunately my savoy cabbage was not truffled as ordered. The mashed potatoes were actually just mashed potatoes, i.e. just mashed potatoes without any other ingredients apart from a few leaves of parsley, which didn't really have any effect on the taste. As a hobby chef, I can do it more tastefully. I also noticed that cutlery had been saved. There was a small bread plate with the bread in the basket, but no extra bread knife for spreading it. Even the mashed potatoes that were served in the bowl didn't have an extra spoon to lift them onto my plate. I didn't mention that the savoy cabbage was not truffled until I paid the bill, as I have often had the experience that adding it takes a few minutes and then the food gets cold. In principle this can happen, but it wasn't that bad for me. The food wasn't really hot either. The waiter said I could have said that and of course I would have had a new savoy cabbage, then truffled. He said he would check with the kitchen regarding my complaint. Unfortunately, I didn't get any feedback afterward, or it would have been nice to have been offered a little something as a small gift. Overall, the restaurant unfortunately didn't fully utilize its potential; the friendliness of the staff and the ambience of the Friesenstube deserved it. Too bad.
