We booked a table by phone, planning to sit in the bistro since we didn't want to order kebabs. The friendly AI voice didn't give us the option of choosing between the bistro and the conservatory. We were then assigned a table in the conservatory. After clarifying on-site, we were told we could keep the table as it was very empty. We then chose various dishes from the bistro menu. The bread for our tapas arrived only when we were almost finished eating. We weren't even sure if it was included. The waiter was friendly, but also very chatty, so we ended up not wanting to listen to him anymore. As for the food itself: The bruschetta was served with Parmesan shavings. A nice gesture, but it should definitely be mentioned on the menu. However, it was replaced without any fuss. The garlic prawns were very chewy and lacked any real garlic flavor. The ribs and the accompanying baked potatoes seemed and tasted reheated. The fish stew did indeed contain the three (3) promised pieces of fish described on the menu, and otherwise a lot of zucchini. If you're calling this a gourmet fish stew, you should take a look at how Gosch does it. In conclusion: If I'm prepared to pay a premium price for a meal, there are more reliable restaurants. Nevertheless, I wish the owners continued success.

We grilled gluten-free stick bread and vegetable skewers on an open table grill. We also had potatoes, cucumber, and beetroot salad, and were served only sauces suitable for our diet. Our requests and questions were thoroughly addressed. It was a feast for us! We'll definitely be back!

The restaurant's location is great. We went for lunch outside of school holidays, so no reservation was necessary. We didn't think the food and drinks were worth the setting and the taste – the food was okay, but definitely nothing special or something I'd think of if someone asked me for a recommendation. The service was very attentive, sometimes overwhelmed, but still very friendly.

Beautiful view of the sunset. Very attentive staff, who regularly asked if they could help us or if we had any requests or questions. The self-grilling was unusual but a real event. The dessert was heavenly (chocolate tart with a liquid chocolate filling, berries, and vanilla ice cream), and the appetizer tapas platter was also very tasty.

The first impression was great and since we were craving some delicious ice cream after a long tour, we went to "iismeer-Sylt". The ice cream was very tasty, different flavors than the standard and simply a different location than the ice cream from LUND or List. BUT: The scoops of ice cream now cost €2.50 (regardless of whether it's Sylt, Hamburg or Flensburg) and we're okay with that (if the quality is good, it's all good). The iismeer advertises all common payment options at the entrance. But according to the staff and the notice at the ice cream counter, ice cream "to go" can only be bought with CASH... If we didn't want the ice cream "to go", we were offered a seat on the terrace, which was already occupied by a few customers. According to the staff, a scoop of ice cream on the terrace costs €3.50 and cashless payment is then possible. The explanation that it would take too long to pay with a card for "to go" is an invalid reason. I could pay with 20-cent or 50-cent pieces "cash"... which will take longer?!??? It's amazing that many restaurants, especially ice cream parlors, require cash payments... I wonder why, whoever thinks evil... It's a good thing we—in this case, my wife—still had some cash in our pockets... otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to eat ice cream or would have paid a completely exorbitant price for the scoop on the terrace. YES, before anyone comments... the raw materials, the hourly wage, all the costs associated with a catering business have increased over the years. We're aware of that. Including VAT for "to-go" items, the tax is 7% and for consumption on-site, it's 19%. For "iismer-Sylt," this would mean €2.50 per scoop "to-go" and €2.80 for consumption in the restaurant. However, the iismeer Sylt charges a whopping €3.50 per scoop for in-restaurant consumption... Okay... the losses from COVID-19 have to be recouped, or the COVID-19 aid has to be paid back... But finally, something positive: Your ice cream was delicious... And take a leaf out of our neighboring country, Denmark. Everything here is cashless, from small bakeries to ice cream stands. Best regards - also from Schleswig-Holstein - You still get 4 out of 5 stars because the ice cream was delicious and you scored points with unusual flavors. The ice cream won't be eaten on your terrace, and you won't drink espresso or coffee, but a few meters away on the promenade with a direct view of the sea.

The seating is lovely, with a fantastic view of the sunset in an atmospheric setting. The service is very friendly and engaging. The skewers for grilling yourself are large (more for big eaters; we didn't manage to make them), and the preparation makes the evening special. The antipasti platter is delicious and beautifully presented. They also serve an excellent rosé.

Simply wonderful! We've been going to Iismeer for several years now. The food is incredibly delicious and offers a wide selection for everyone! The meat is consistently high quality—which isn't always the case these days. Our little girl loves the cucumber salad, which tastes just like Grandma's—well-rounded and flavorful—amazing. The restaurant is also suitable for large groups and, with its sea view, offers a wonderful ambiance.

Right on the small promenade in Wenningstedt with a view of the sunset – expensive food (overpriced) with only average quality – solicitous service! Despite having a reservation, you're seated with other guests – that's fine at a beach shack, but not at a restaurant in the evening. The "gimmick" at the restaurant is that you prepare your own meat at the table... Well, the tapas were good! Dogs are allowed – they also serve dog ice cream for €5 a cup.

It's a lovely place to sit outside with a sea view. Unfortunately, the prices are incredibly high these days (31.50 for a game with three tofu cubes and a few pieces of vegetables). The vegetarian selection is very, very small. As a dining venue, it's very nice, at least when the gas isn't set so high that the bread and skewers immediately burn. The servers are very friendly. The food is absolutely fine, but considering the price, it could definitely be improved. I personally didn't like the barbecue sauces that much.

There were four of us there – unfortunately, we were disappointed. Two starters, four main courses, drinks, and a bottle of wine – the final bill came to over €350. Far too expensive compared to the very good quality and service at other restaurants. In summary: The service left a lot to be desired: disorganized, unattentive, and more of a "beach bistro" atmosphere than an upscale restaurant. No instructions on how to grill. You're more or less left to your own devices. The root vegetables were neither pre-cooked nor suitable for grilling – accordingly, they were tough and sometimes burnt. Unfortunately, the sauces (except for the garlic sauce) didn't go well with the meat at all. The quality of the meat was very good, but in the end, you end up paying a small fortune to prepare your own food – without any real assistance. Overall, the value for money is not at all right. It's a shame, because the ambiance would have been very nice…

Top location with great food, service and ambience

Where do I begin? In the Bundeswehr, I learned to sleep on it before saying anything. Yes, it's unusual to grill at the table...but... We paid €147, including tips, for two skewers that we had to grill ourselves and a bottle of wine. Guys, if I charge those prices as a self-employed craftsman, I'll be bankrupt after six months because I won't get any more orders. I hope things continue this way for you.

Cash only. This has a bad taste. Wine is only available outdoors in a mundane plastic cup. Not even a plastic wine glass. Not a hundred meters away, you can get wine by the glass at Gosch – also outdoors. This is a one-off, and definitely not again!

Unfortunately, the staff was extremely unfriendly. I was there for a wedding reception, and despite asking for water and other drinks several times (five times), I was completely ignored. When I finally went to the bar to ask, I had a conversation with the owner/manager. Instead of being sympathetic, she threatened me and advised me to go somewhere else. Apparently, hospitality has a completely different meaning there. It's a shame that guests are treated like this.

The warm chocolate cake is otherworldly. So delicious, as are the meat and side dishes we ordered. Truly delicious here!

We ordered a set menu with a variety of appetizers and excellent meat to grill at our table. After a brief introduction by the friendly staff, the grilling process worked well. The appetizers and the meat dish tasted excellent. The portions are generous, so I recommend being frugal that day.

We ate here this week as part of a larger group event, and I have to say that I no longer have much sympathy for restaurants that treat vegetarians 🌱 like second-class guests. The organizer must have communicated how many of the group were vegetarians. Oh well. We were served tapas throughout the evening with a very, very large selection of meat, and the vegetarians were only provided with dry side dishes. Three pickled mushrooms, two small potatoes, a finger-sized piece of dry eggplant, and dry bread without dip are not adequate for the price. Participants ate something at home because the vegetarians left feeling unsatiated. The service was very friendly when asked if they could bring some more vegetarian food, but extremely inflexible. The location of the restaurant is great, and we're told everyone was very friendly. Meat eaters were satisfied, but I really wouldn't recommend the restaurant if there are vegetarians or vegans in your group. It's a real shame. Addendum after owner comment: I find it questionable to call for reviewers to delete their reviews. Our table only received the vegetarian dishes mentioned above. There were obviously several tables with vegetarians who were hungry, so we can only reiterate that next time you might want to make your catering for an event of this size a bit more vegetarian-friendly, especially if you don't have any information. So, there's not much to complain about in that regard. However, this year, the increased prices have surprised us a bit. Sure, everything has gotten more expensive, but everything has its limits. My opinion, and I'm always willing to spend money on good food: The price for a beef fillet skewer (over €45) or a burger (almost €30) has simply increased disproportionately compared to previous years. Even a vegetable skewer costs €22... The idea of ​​the table grill, the view, of course, all have to be taken into account - in my opinion, it all depends on the price/performance ratio (unfortunately). We pass by there every evening, and it used to be impossible to dine at iismeer without a reservation. This year, things are somewhat different. This year, we decided not to get involved in the hype and only ate the delicious ice cream, and once we went for some delicious waffles with strawberries. (Just finished a scoop 😃. Dear iismeer team! Please don't misunderstand this little criticism, I'm not a complainer - maybe we'll see you again for dinner in 2026... 😉

We went there spontaneously on June 8, 2025, to treat ourselves to a coffee and one of their highly praised waffles. What we, or rather my wife, had to go through was more than unpleasant. After we ordered, the young waiter briskly brought our hot drinks. They were placed on a wooden tray (board) with a slight indentation for the respective container. The waiter only had the trays in his hand, which would later come back to haunt him. The glass containing the hot latte macchiato slipped off the tray, and the entire contents landed in my wife's lap. The worst part about this incident is that my wife has to wear medical compression pants due to illness, and they're not easy to remove, which is why she suffered a scald on her thighs. I mean, mistakes happen (we're all only human), and the waiter was visibly sorry, but less than five minutes later, the next guest was served a hot drink in the same way! That's unacceptable; it's hard to imagine what would have happened if the same thing had happened to a small child. After a brief investigation with our legal counsel, we requested the company's insurance information so we could bill them for any damage to the pants, which cost over €1,200. We weren't given this information; instead, they referred us to the café's information email address. Furthermore, the one latte macchiato and one waffle were removed from the bill, which isn't the best way to handle something like this. This was definitely our first and last time there, even though the waffle was really delicious. Okay, and the mocking looks from passersby on the way to our car, across the city center, were just as unpleasant as the pain from the scalding. *Update 6/13/25* I received greetings from the office today, including a complaint regarding the "bad review." In my opinion, this demonstrates the unprofessionalism even more. I think if you ask the staff for your insurance details three times that should be more than enough, but that's a matter of opinion.

If that's what you enjoy, then this is the place for you. My expectations (I didn't research it beforehand) were different that day, but in the end, it was okay. The ambiance was interesting in this context, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was of good quality. However, the price, considering the quantity offered, was still excessive compared to other restaurants I visited on the island.

The ice cream variations are a hit. Exceptional flavors, top-quality craftsmanship, and fine wines, along with a magnificent view of the North Sea.

It's a very special ambiance, and you expect a corresponding price level as well as friendly, attentive, and friendly service to match. Unfortunately, we felt that these three components only partially matched during our visit. For a burger in this price range, we believe all the components should arrive at the table perfectly. Of course, it can happen that the bread is accidentally left untoasted and the cheese is cold, although, as a member of staff confirmed when we asked, this is not the intended purpose. However, we didn't like the idea of ​​gathering everything together with the meat grilled on the table and returning it to the table less than a minute later, still lukewarm and with the cheese still intact. And to then handle all of this as a matter of course, without a single word of apology, ultimately spoiled our stay. We sincerely hope that this remains one of those slip-ups that will always occur in even the best establishments.

As always, very tasty and of good quality. This time I had the chicken with pineapple, and the pineapple was fresh and good. Unfortunately, the chicken was cut very poorly, so it couldn't be grilled properly for either of the people at our table. It kept slipping on the skewer to the longer and heavier side, so the same part of the meat was always grilled and, of course, eventually became too black. We had to take it out early, which I consider risky with poultry. The quality of the chicken was excellent. Otherwise, everything was great, as always.

A special dining experience with great service. Our skewers were amazing, and the gluten-free stick bread for our child was something truly special. Thank you, especially to the wonderfully friendly service staff. We'd love to come back.

An insider tip? We went there for waffles around lunchtime. The atmosphere at the fire tables in the winter garden is fantastic. The service was extremely friendly and relaxed. A restaurant with a lovely ambiance and a cool idea. The two of us had the iismeer menu, which includes a grilled skewer and various side dishes and appetizers per person. The appetizers alone were almost filling, and the subsequent main course of skewer, salad, and a side of potatoes was even too much for us. The staff is very friendly, and the overall atmosphere is extremely cozy. My only criticism: The pears on the tuna skewer were challenging in many ways.

The food is consistently delicious, freshly prepared and served with a lot of love - from the starter to the dessert, everything is just right. The atmosphere is relaxed, cozy and invites you to linger. The selection of delicious desserts and ice cream also rounds off the evening perfectly. Truly an exceptional restaurant. Everyone had fun frying their own food. Enough tips were given to ensure that the meal was perfect. The side dishes and tapas were also perfect. The service was terrific. We just found the ice cream a little overpriced for what it is. Nevertheless, we wouldn't deduct a star for that.

Anyone who stops here should definitely try the delicious ice cream flavors with the interesting combinations. Mint - date, dark chili, chestnut - cinnamon And the ambience is also unique on Sylt

Very cozy atmosphere at the grill tables with a view of the sea. The organic ice cream is the best on the island! Very friendly and helpful staff!

Suffer more appearances than reality, because visually the restaurant is a highlight with the beautiful fireplaces, the service is very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the food disappointed us in every respect, the meat was marinated and therefore very soft and too salty. The side dishes came at the same time as the raw skewer. Once this is cooked, the side dishes are cold and it takes a very long time to cook them over the small flames. The taste is “ok” at best, but in this price range you are used to something different.

This restaurant offers a special experience. You can "grill" your own food at the fire tables. There is also a very good selection of side dishes. The service is excellent. Arrival by bus to Wenningstedt Mitte and walk down Strandstrasse to the end, about 10 minutes on foot, good to do. It's also worth visiting with children. Reservation is easy and recommended.

When we were on site there was only one service employee there. We had to wait almost an hour for the starter. After about 2.5 hours our main course was at the table. Given the prices quoted, such service planning is unacceptable.
