Cafe Meeresblick in Wenningstedt-Braderup (Sylt)

A very cozy Sylt restaurant; we've felt very comfortable here for many years. The food is of very good quality and excellently prepared. The staff is very friendly and attentive – simply a restaurant where you can feel at ease with delicious food and drinks (the drinks, as almost everywhere on Sylt, are too expensive).

The café has a lovely outdoor area and a very charming interior. You can easily sit inside with a dog. The service was friendly and we were served quickly. There's a daily selection of different cakes and tarts. Our cake was delicious and very reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back!

On the recommendation of friends, we visited Café Meeresblick. With our proverbial luck, we were assigned a free table on the covered terrace. A few heaters provided cozy warmth (it's October!). The tables were set in white. The attentive waiter promptly brought us the menus and gave us further information about special dishes. The menu includes a sufficient number of dishes, something for every taste/appetite! The same applies to the drinks. Our ordered dishes were not only beautifully presented but also tasted excellent. We would gladly come back! 👍

Very friendly, prompt service and a truly lovely ambiance. Unfortunately, the food was rather bland overall. The boiled beef could have used more horseradish, the kids' mashed potatoes needed salt, the pan-fried fish in mustard sauce was very, very fatty and not at all mustardy, and the fried potatoes that accompanied it were anything but crispy, barely seasoned, and also very greasy.

We come here every year and have never been disappointed. Nice, fast service. 😉 Perhaps a little impersonal. It's almost the end of the season, after all. Four different dishes. All excellent. 2025 update: The service is still very sterile, and the prices are now borderline exorbitant.

We had reserved a table for four people. Since we were a bit early (20 minutes), which wasn't a problem, we wanted to wait a bit longer to order our food. After asking the waiter twice if we wanted to order food now, and again asking for a moment, his friendliness disappeared. He then sent another colleague to our table, who was also very reserved and annoyed. We clearly felt that we were no longer welcome, but rather unpleasant guests. And that was just because we didn't want to order food right away. We sat outside on rattan benches, which were unfortunately quite worn, so it wasn't very comfortable. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We were very satisfied.

Highly competent and trained service staff easily accommodate special orders. The food is a culinary delight and certainly worth the 5* rating!

We visited Cafe Meeresblick twice during our one-week vacation (September 6th - 14th, 2025). Unfortunately, the food was not good at all compared to previous years. The food arrived lukewarm and tasted absolutely disappointing. The waiter was grumpy and not service-oriented. We've completely lost our desire to eat here – we won't be going back anytime soon. It's a real shame...

After waiting over an hour for our food, we asked if we'd been forgotten. Especially since all the guests who arrived after us had finished long ago. The bald waiter gave us such a cheeky, rude response that we almost wanted to leave. All the other waiters were very friendly and attentive. We'd be happy to come back, but we definitely don't want to be served by this gentleman again.

We've had delicious meals several times. The service was excellent! Here, they know how to prepare vegetables and salads, so they don't play a secondary role...

We always enjoy coming to Florian's Restaurant. The menu isn't overwhelming, and the food is delicious. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow on our last visit. We felt a bit neglected. We ordered a bottle of wine with our meal and had to refill it ourselves after the waiter opened the bottle and poured the first glass. The ambiance may be a bit dated, but we still feel quite comfortable in the winter garden.

We were looking forward to a tasty panfish. But we were very disappointed. The quality was very poor. Old fish, full of bones. It could be better. What a shame.

We spontaneously went there for dinner. Due to the weather, we sat inside. Unfortunately, there were a few persistent flies at our table. Unfortunately, the food was still good. The truffle spaghetti tasted so strongly of garlic that you couldn't taste anything else. Then we had a fish dish. Unfortunately, the fish was very dry and tasted quite fishy in places. The service was attentive. The prices were also rather expensive overall.

We were there for dinner on August 4, 2025. Seven people. From the appetizer to the schnapps afterward, the meal was a feast. Very polite staff. The restrooms were very clean and tasteful. Despite the storm and rain, we didn't freeze.

The service seemed rather irritated and uninspired, and there were flies everywhere at the table, on the napkins, etc., and unfortunately, even on the food. Perhaps it was the seating. But we were sitting there and found it uninviting, right next to the restrooms. The cake tasted okay, too sweet for me (my companion couldn't eat it because there were no vegan options), but the flies quickly made us leave.

A lovely place to eat and relax, perched high above the sea. We stopped in for a beer after our walk from Westerland to Wenningstedt. Opening hours start at 12:00 PM. The staff are super friendly, always ready for a chat, quick service, and always with a smile. We recommend Café Meeresblick because it's a lovely place to sit outside and watch the vacationers go by. The interior is designed in keeping with the island style. Just pop in and take a look.

We went there three times during our vacation. The coffee and cake were good, but the dinner was a little less good than expected.

Why bother with the overcrowded Gosch with mediocre food and lacking service when this establishment exists?

The pan-fried fish is brought in small pieces, giving the impression that the leftovers are from yesterday. The boss starts talking, and you can tell he has no clue and zero interest in his customers! Please don't go there.

The mussels and plaice were delicious, as was the steak tartare… the duck wasn't as crispy, but still tasted good. The service was mostly very friendly. The ambiance in the conservatory is nice, but further inside it's a bit old-fashioned. We'll definitely be back!

We've been coming to Cafe Meeresblick for many years and enjoy the "all-around service": delicious food, exceptionally friendly and attentive service, and a cozy atmosphere whether in the conservatory, outdoors, or in the restaurant. We eat there every evening, but this is where we've had the best meals. The menu is also so varied that there's always something to choose from. We've been to your cafe three times out of eight days. Our Easter 2025 dinner wasn't booked arbitrarily, but rather based on several previous Christmas visits. We've enjoyed the menu repeatedly, and the food, especially on Sylt, offers excellent value for money. It was served with a level of service that truly rivals other restaurants in the region. The service, of course, matched this overall standard. Enjoy your meal!

The ambiance is fantastic. If there aren't any good mussels, they shouldn't be offered at an exorbitant price.

Unfortunately, I can't understand the positive reviews. The pan-fried fish consisted of four small cubes of fish and soggy fried potatoes, and the Wiener schnitzel was carelessly served on a plate with soggy fried potatoes. We're happy to pay more for good food, but this was almost outrageous. The service, however, was very friendly and attentive.

We came here twice in 1 day. Would've been full 5 stars, but the wait for service when seated both visits was sooo awkwardly long. Nevertheless, the food was fantastic, the servers themselves were lovely and accommodating. Dog friendly and have a very cool water bowl dog statue.

I visited Cafe Meeresblick for the first time today. The beautiful sun terrace and the handwritten menu piqued my interest. I opted for the "Potato Stew with Sausage" for 12 euros, as I was hungry from all that hiking. What I was served was a bowl of soup with clear broth, in which about 6-8 small pieces of potato were floating, along with about 4-5 thin/small slices of sausage. When I complained that this certainly wasn't a stew, I was told, "But that's what it's called here." I know that restaurant prices on Sylt are higher than in other locations, as I visit several restaurants there every day. I personally find what I was served today at this restaurant for 12 euros outrageous, and I will definitely not be visiting this place again.

Everything was great. Only the boss was a bit grumpy. Maybe he got up on the wrong side of the bed 🫣😁

Small, sweet, quaint... On the recommendation of friends on the island, we made another stop. It was really great, nice and empty, the cake was delicious, and the prices were really reasonable for Sylt. We're glad we stopped here again; we'd love to go back!

A very cozy atmosphere and excellent food! We received a friendly welcome and would be happy to return. One star deducted for the poor treatment of the gentleman (boss?) toward his service employee. Employees should not be treated with such disrespect and inappropriateness! We hope this comment leads to improvement within the team.

Inspired by the excellent menu, I went to Meeresblick for the first time today. The staff are very friendly, and the ambiance in the Friesenstube is lovely, very homey, and makes you feel at home. I ordered the Sylt Galloway roulade with truffled savoy cabbage and mashed potatoes, along with a glass of Pinot Noir. The roulade and the jus were very well-made, as were the savoy cabbage (very nicely presented) and mashed potatoes. Overall, all of the ingredients lacked seasoning, particularly salt. The jus wasn't tasty, but had much more potential. Unfortunately, my savoy cabbage wasn't truffled as ordered. The mashed potatoes were actually just mashed potatoes, with no other ingredients except for a few parsley leaves, which didn't really add any flavor. As an amateur cook, I can do it with more taste. I also noticed that they seem to have skimped on cutlery. The bread served in the basket came with a small bread plate, but no extra bread knife for spreading it. The mashed potatoes served in a bowl didn't come with an extra spoon to lift it onto my plate. I only mentioned that the savoy cabbage wasn't truffled when I was paying the bill, as it's often my experience that refilling it takes a few minutes and the food then gets cold. In principle, that can happen, but it wasn't a problem for me. The food wasn't really that hot either. The waiter said I could have mentioned that, and then I would of course have been given a new savoy cabbage, truffled. He said he would ask the kitchen about my complaint. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back after that, and it would have been nice to be offered a small something as a token of appreciation. Overall, the restaurant didn't quite live up to its potential; the friendliness of the staff and the ambience of the Friesenstube deserved it. What a shame.

The Café Meeresblick is stylishly decorated. Since there were unfortunately no free seats outside, we went inside, and I was immediately impressed. It's very inviting and dog-friendly, too. The servers were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The cake (red fruit compote meringue) was delicious, and the coffee was also excellent. We'll definitely be back.

The food for all my birthday guests was excellent, and the service was very friendly and attentive. They also provided a menu for people with allergies. One of our favorite restaurants on Sylt.

Great restaurant right on the Wenningstedt promenade. The service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. The prices are above average, but it's worth it for the good food and professional service. The gentleman at the reception desk could be a bit more relaxed; a smile never hurts.

Nice café, good cake, milk alternatives for coffee and good prices for Sylt. In the cold months, the outdoor area is also open with wind protection and patio heaters. Very close to the beach and invites you to take a walk afterwards.

Nice atmosphere, the food was good, but the portions were quite small. The staff is friendly with one exception. The person in question is as friendly towards guests as the hair on his head. If she had only served us, the tip would have been exactly 0.00 euros. But the others ripped it out.

Cozy restaurant with friendly and attentive service. The vegetarian Maultaschen was good, but not enough as a main course. Unfortunately, all other dishes were not really warm. Furthermore, the roulade tasted burnt in some places and the schnitzel was tough in some places, etc. The starters, including soup and goat cheese, were good.

The cafe and restaurant has an excellent location with a good view of the sea with a tasteful atmosphere and very friendly service. The price-performance ratio corresponds to the level of Sylt. Good food and drinks. If you are staying in Wenningstedt you should definitely visit it.

Wir waren während unseres Urlaubs viermal im Meeresblick zum Essen und es war jedesmal hervorragend. Die wohl besten Schollen die wir je gegessen haben, die Miesmuscheln sind auch eine Offenbarung. Der Service ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Preise sind der Insel angepasst.

We arrived on . We arrived at Café Meeresblick on May evening, completely soaked, and had just arrived on Sylt. The very worried Biggi looked after us very lovingly, hung up our dripping jackets and wrapped us in blankets. This probably saved us from getting a bad cold. The herring tartare was again a delight. We also had excellent food on our next visit this year.

Wir haben hier sehr gut gegessen. Die Muscheln waren geschmacklich vorzüglich (2-3 waren noch etwas sandig, aber das passiert), das Schnitzel ebenfalls; die Scholle wäre noch besser gewesen, wenn sie nicht unter einem Berg Suppengemüse begraben gewesen wäre, denn der Fisch an sich war fabelhaft. Der Service war sehr freundlich und wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.
