Best Kaiserschmarrn. Fluffy and caramelized. The hearty dishes are also good.

It's great how an Austrian atmosphere has been created here in the old walls. The food was deliciously prepared and plentiful. The service is attentive and quick. Today, February 16th, we were also impressed by the food. It just tastes good.

I’ve always missed Austrian food, and this place gave me a sense of satisfaction. The restaurant staff seemed to be kind and considerate toward tourists, and the food was delicious.

My family and I were there for my birthday. We were told: “Lohninger has the best schnitzel in Germany!” So we arrive and are immediately turned away by the waitress. “You’ll have to wait.” We had made a reservation, of course. No apology. We were able to order drinks at the bar, but of course they weren’t on the house if we waited 20 minutes… The starter arrives, everything is great. The main course arrives and is good. The best schnitzel in Germany? No way. I’ve had better in Frankfurt. And then 42€ for it? I was just about full. When my father asked if he could get a knife for his fish, another waiter just unkindly and very loudly pointed out to him that you eat this fish without a knife and should use the sharper side of the fork. Very unpleasant looks from the staff. The Kaiserschmarrn was unfortunately a disappointment. 24€ for something that tasted more like scrambled eggs than dessert. We were charged extra for apple sauce and cranberries... The icing on the cake was when the waitress spilled cranberries on a suit jacket. There was no apology or help with wiping it off, just a reminder that we should send the cleaning bill to the restaurant. The boss himself came out of the kitchen once to ask how everything was, which was a nice gesture. Was the food good? Yes Was it worth the price? Never Friendly staff? No Would I come back? Definitely not. There are much better fine dining experiences in Frankfurt!
