I’ve always missed Austrian food, and this place gave me a sense of satisfaction. The restaurant staff seemed to be kind and considerate toward tourists, and the food was delicious.

The veal Wienerschnitzel is one of the best I have eaten in Germany - Frankfurt. Tender meat, fried until crispy. Service very friendly and accommodating.

Top shop - quaint atmosphere and delicious food at reasonable prices. I like! Gives you a bit of the feeling of skiing - only that you are in the middle of Frankfurt.

Excellent Wiener Schnitzel, which is traditionally fried in clarified butter. Never disappoints. The Kaiserschmarrn for dessert is a poem. We like coming here and recommend the gondola place for a cozy atmosphere.

Even though it was very busy, we were greeted warmly and given a seat at the bar. Very good service and the food is authentic and extremely tasty. Here you can also find desserts that are otherwise only available in Vienna. Just great.

Unfortunately I have to revise my review downwards. We were there on February 1st, 2025. The tartar had obviously been shredded in a Thermomix or similar and had received heat in the process and was partly gray-white on the cut edges. Schnitzel and “stretched” chicken were no longer “top”. It's a shame, but the team is still very, very nice. We will probably no longer go to the salt chamber after 5-6 visits. Very good food, great friendly team! We'll be back! Were here for the second time today January 18th, 2020, everything was great! Very, very nice staff, food great. As dedicated hobby chefs - who certainly don't make things easy for professionals - we are a little spoiled, but Salzkammer: Great!

We only go to the salt chamber because of the Kaiserschmarrn. So delicious that it has become a ritual. The only thing you should be aware of is to reserve two to three days in advance, otherwise you will most likely not get a place. Otherwise - great rustic atmosphere, good service.

It was a great choice to stop there! The fried potatoes were amazing and the best I've eaten in a long time! Service is very high quality and professional, you feel very comfortable there. The only subjective drawback: The schnitzel could have been a little stronger, but less breaded.

Great restaurant with classic, fresh and regional Austrian-German cuisine. Staff super fast and friendly. After a small mishap, which we didn't find particularly serious, the entire dish was naturally removed from the bill. Where else can you find something like this in Germany today? We will definitely come back next time we are in Frankfurt!

Unfortunately, the menu doesn't give any indication of what's on the plate: fast food-like tourist food. Not edible. For the apple strudel, cream from the can. Incredible.

We arrived on Saturday evening and had a reservation. The service was quick and friendly. The food was crispy, juicy and the Kaiserschmarn was a dream. We'd love to come back. Absolute recommendation.

Fast service despite the “full hut” in the evening. Food is solidly good, but not “outstanding” compared to other Austrians.

Excellent veal schnitzel. Light, tender and big with an option to upsize. I didn’t take many photos but it was one of the best I’ve had. Beer was great too. Another standout was the coffee. Hot and strong Melbourne grade which hit the spot. On the downside the wine list is limited. I’d have liked a crisp dry Riesling rather than the fruitier aged whites on offer. In all highly recommended, good value and great atmosphere.

Lotado de pessoas da cidade, conseguimos sentar no balcão (onde almoçaríamos), e depois liberou uma mesa e nos transferiram. Schnitzel maravilhoso. Finíssimo e suculento, é possível cortá-lo com o garfo. Ótimo chopp e boa carta de vinhos em taça. O strudel de sobremesa também não pode ser ignorado.

There were five of us and we were completely satisfied. It's important to make a reservation, otherwise you'll have bad cards. Definitely worth a visit

They give you a timer you need to leave when your time is up as they are extremely busy however, the chicken schnitzel me and my wife ordered wasn’t Cooked all the way and had blood dripping when we cut it, no topologies they justified by saying it’s type of Austrian chicken they use, waited extremely long time to get the bill to leave worse customer experience me and my wife ever received.

Esperaba con ansias el Kaiserschmarrn, un plato austriaco de desayuno o desierto que es similar a una tortita dado su ingrediente, pero ahí es donde termina la similitud. Es mucho más esponjoso, como un suflé, se sirve con salsa de ciruelas y salsa de vainilla y toma mucho tiempo prepararlo. Sin embargo, ese no era el caso en este restaurante. Cuando lo pedimos, el camarero se refirió a él como caramelizado Kaiserschmarrn. Descubrimos que significaba Kaiserschmarrn viejo, denso y apenas recalentado. Las comidas principales también fueron muy decepcionantes. He tenido un mejor ejemplo de lo que pedimos en una cabaña de esquí austriaca - uno estaba mal cocinado y el otro parecía una vez más ser recalentado. No recomendaría este lugar.

Great place for solid schnitzel with very attentive service 👍 Very swift and spot on with service. Good alternative to the places which serve Frankfurt style dishes. Good value for money although not cheap. The solid size of schnitzel with good taste make it a place to go to.

This is a high quality restaurant for traditional German/Austrian (Schnitzel, Sausage, traditional deserts, beer etc.) style food in a central location of the city. There is inside and outside seating available.

The food is great. The older man who works in service falls down because of his unfriendliness. Were there several times. So it wasn't a bad day. It doesn't make me feel welcome.

We always enjoy coming here with guests or our team because the service in particular is very friendly and accommodating. The food is also very tasty.

I really loved the salt chamber in Dreieich! The atmosphere is cozy and the food is reminiscent of Austrian home cooking - the Kaiserschmarrn in particular was heavenly. The beer selection is great, especially the homemade Helle. The service was friendly, even if it took a little longer for the food to arrive. A tip: Be sure to make a reservation as it is often busy. A lovely and cozy place with attentive service. The food and beer were tasty but the coating of the Viennese schnitzel did not stick to the meat. Other than that everything was perfect.

Ambience was very nice Service was very nice n good. 9/10 We didn’t have reservation but they managed to seat us at a big table which later we shared with another couple but they were also very nice people so all good. Foods are delicious Only next time we should order the special Frankfurt green sauce for the schnitzel. They are good and unique. The dessert was wonderful. It came with the apricot sauce which was recommended. Truly delicious. Will come back again whenever we come again in Frankfurt.

I've been coming here for years. I think the senior's restaurant is a bit better, but the two sons also do a great job. Without a reservation it is often difficult to get a table, but the service does its best to remain flexible and is usually successful. The menu is very clear so you can quickly decide what you want to eat. I can highly recommend the Wiener Schnitzel here. Perfect breading, delicious side dishes. You have the option to choose from three sizes, small, normal and large - depending on your hunger. Dessert is Kaiserschmarrn, which can easily be eaten by two or three people. It's delicious, but it could be even better :) The food, service and ambience are simply top.

The waiter was rude. We didn't even take place and we left. Not a very good place for foreigners.

Simply sensationally delicious!!! I've rarely eaten such great chicken, here it's called fried chicken, of course, with potato salad on the side - a dream all in one! For dessert, the ice cream apricot dumpling gave me goosebumps! I was also allowed to try the Kaiserschmarrn and could only be amazed! The service was absolutely friendly, humorous and totally on the ball! I can only recommend!!!

Great restaurant! Busy place for dinner on Friday night. We didnt have a reservation but they still accommodated us with time limit of 1 hour which is fine as we only wanted to dine. Servers were all super nice and friendly. Menu posted here from 5 years ago was not accurate as menu has change a lot. They only have 2 -3 schnitzel option on the menu but theyre made from Veal which is a lot better than pork. Had option of 1-3 portion. Ordered 2 portion as it seems like the portion would not be big but we were wrong. Had 2 portions enough for 2 people to finish. Definitely made well and glad we ordered it.

I think you need to make a reservation after 6pm. We were able to eat because we visited at 5pm.

Before this visit, this used to be one of my favorite Frankfurt restaurants. What happened? I came straight from the airport to the restaurant because I was worried I might not be seated. I might have looked a bit rough with my backpack and two day beard stubbles. I walked in and saw that they were busy though there were at least two tables open and seats at the counter. Outside barely anyone sat except a couple with red blankets. There was space for 20-30 guests. Well? I was turned away. And not friendly. I was first gestured to wait which I patiently did. And then I was told that they had no space. And it was the tone more than the message. I was not welcome! I was not even afforded an expression of regret or thanks for stopping by. I was simply not wanted. Next some German guests simply sat down as I was googling outside alternative restaurants. And when I pointed this out, the manager told me again without any apology for any misunderstanding that if I wanted I could sit outside. I did hoping the restaurant would redeem itself. But no: I was not offered a blanket unlike two other guests. The tone stayed unfriendly and the service was perfunctory. But now the real bummer: The Kaiserschmarrn was served luke warm, it had little apple sauce, and, well, I did not like it. I won't be back. Manners matter! So does tasty food.

As a true Austrian, I can only say: It tastes like home with mom and is probably the best schnitzel in Frankfurt (and probably Hesse too). It's best to always make a reservation as the restaurant is almost always full.

Had a lovely time there and above all a real, original Wiener Schnitzel. The service was very attentive and even had a good joke. All in all a lovely evening.

Generally nice staff who work very quickly. I think reservations are recommended in case of doubt, as two people can sometimes get a spot spontaneously. The menu is clearly laid out and the schnitzels taste really good. Prices are okay for the location and quality.

Wonderful restaurant! The schnitzel is delicious, and the service was prompt, friendly, and welcoming. The interior brought me back to a quaint restaurant I visited in Salzburg several years ago. We didn't have a reservation, but we had come in for a very early dinner, so we did get to sit and enjoy our first meal and beers in Frankfurt peacefully. Get a reservation so you don't miss out on this wonderful place!!

Reservation is essential and then there are fixed time slots. Extremely quick service, there is a little bit of a problem when reordering. Typical Austrian cuisine, sufficiently large portions. The ambience is okay, but very cramped and quite loud. I imagine a cozy dinner differently.

10/10. Definitely worth a visit! The best schnitzel I've eaten in a long time!! The dessert was also super delicious. You should definitely make a reservation because it is really busy. The waiters were also super nice and made you feel comfortable, something we rarely experience. The only thing we didn't like was that the tables were so close together. Not bad in itself unless you are constantly being watched from the neighboring table while eating. But the restaurant can't do anything about it.

The food was very good, typical German plates but the service was bad. Both waitresses seemed to had a bad mood, long waiting time to get my orders, not friendly at all and when I called them to ask for more drinks or for the bill they looked like I was bothering them.

In the normal version, the schnitzel was very large or there are two schnitzels. The potatoes were a bit “boring”. I missed the classic butter taste a little. The salad with chicken was very tasty.

Food is pretty good, the attitude of staff less so - overall came across as quite abrasive. When paying the bill, one of the staff was aggressively pushing the foreign lady next to us to tip, which was quite embarrassing and unelegant.

The restaurant manager refused to let us sit in the restaurant despite there was a space, because we were from Israel.

The food is ok but I recommend avoiding for the attitude of the waiters. They found me a seat outside with no reservation at 1:30 pm on a Saturday. It was a shared table (even though inside was mainly empty) - but whatever, no complaints since I just turned up. First, no-one came to take my order for 5/10 minutes. So I had to walk up to a waiter. When the food came - the meal itself was fine, nothing amazing nothing terrible. Then after I finished, I spent another 5/10 minutes trying to get the waiter's attention. Several waiters passed tending to other outside tables but no-one thought to look up and check on other tables (the restaurant wasn't even busy at this time - a few tables outside and 2 tables inside occupied). So I ended up walking inside to ask for the bill. Without even asking how the meal was or apologising for the delay, the waiter (the one with the moustache) said "The tip is not included. You can leave a 5% or 10% tip". First of all, buddy - this isn't the US. Second, I might be a tourist but I'm no fool. I'm not tipping here if the service is bad. So I clicked "no tip" on the machine and he had the audacity to exclaim "No tip? Really!?". To be clear, if the service had been good (or even average) I would have left a tip. The meal itself was already €26. I asked "Is it mandatory to leave a tip in Germany?" (already checking beforehand that it isn't) and he loudly exclaimed to the earshot of everyone inside "Of course! We live off tips". Then he added, "if you decide to come back, then you know maybe..." I don't know what he meant to add after the "maybe" - I'm not sure how the service could have been much worse unless they'd spat in my food. Anyway at that point I just walked out. Maybe if you're not a tourist, you won't have the same experience as me. But I'd recommend avoiding as a tourist unless you're comfortable with them trying to guilt trip you into leaving a tip regardless of the service.

The food was okay (the schnitzel at MainNizza is a bit better). The service was sad. The waiter asked "will there be a tip?", we said "no", he said "I almost thought so". Incredible.

When we arrived, the gentleman at the reception was so busy with his dissertation (it must have been something like that) that he didn't even look up to greet his new guests. My friend then took over and asked if she could use the toilet in the meantime. So I continued to wait to be assigned a table. When he finally finished typing after a few minutes, he walked away without a word and left me standing there. To the counter, to random tables, back and forth, cleared something away. It felt like 15 minutes passed and he kept me/us waiting. When he deigned to turn to us, I told him that we didn't want to eat at his place today. It was my birthday and I was actually looking forward to a nice evening. To the gentleman personally: What do you actually think of wasting our time like that? Who do you think you are? I'd throw you out of town for something like that. We then went to another restaurant. Table assignment in 15 seconds with great service and 25% tip. The salt chamber died for me because of this disrespect.

Sorry, but I cannot recommend this place. 2024.08.24 I had dinner in the evening. I go to Europe 4 or 5 times every year for work. At this time, I also act as a guide for my companions. I've been to Frankfurt more than 10 times, and this is the first time I've been ripped off. I stopped by to have a quick beer. Two Asian women at the table next to me were eating pasta, schnitzel, and salad, so I asked for the same. We added beer and free tap water. I also attach the final payment receipt and photos of the food. I didn't order anything more than this. Backhendl is a fried chicken dish. I was charged for it even though I never ate it, and I only ordered one schnitzel, but got two. “It’s a bit strange. Can you give me an English receipt?” It doesn't work. And the calculation is correct. The people in my group were public officials on a business trip, so I couldn't wait any longer and left, but the image of Frankfurt was a complete abyss. Be careful of the fat lady with black horn-rimmed glasses and tattoos all over her arms.

How were 4 girls last night? The meal was excellent. The waiter, on the other hand, was horrible!! Just because we didn't quite understand the cat he thought he could give us a lesson in Austria... the plates were slapped down sloppily and we had to ask for dessert twice!! It's a shame it doesn't match the food! Last but not least, he asked for a tip and, of course, said no, he threw the receipt on the table and disappeared!!!! Food top service flop hope he leaves it!!!!!!

In the middle of Frankfurt you can eat like you're in Austria. We were there when the weather was very nice, so you can sit outside and enjoy. I had classic Wiener Schnitzel and my companion had a baked salad. Everything tasted great and with a good Austrian wine it was a perfect evening. That was great.

Best Austrian cuisine in the heart of Frankfurt. All employees are friendly and in a good mood. you notice the friends at work. The food is just incredibly delicious. The Cordon Bleu is my insider tip. (thin, tender veal, crispy breading all around, with hearty cheese and delicious ham in between, with potato salad or optionally fried potatoes - that's all you need) The kitchen does a damn good job. Early reservation is strongly recommended!

Came across this restaurant and their schnitzel is awesome. I read the google review and went for the recommendation most people shared to get medium instead of small. No regrets. Staff is nice as well. The sausages are good recommendations by the staff.

A fairly small menu, but nice portions to fill you up. Prices are completely reasonable and it's something different. The cheese dumplings were very filling, but I was actually missing that little bit of pizzazz to round off the dish perfectly. Still tasty.
