This is an honest Austrian restaurant. The snitzel was ...so good! Just like the ones on the Apls slopes. Beer was good. Can't miss.

The best Schnitzel I had in Germany! Austrian schnitzel is a different style but I prefer it so much more. Food is great and it is served pretty quickly. Recommend you book a table if you can though the reservation website doesn’t seem to work! The place is always filled with people. Went there twice during my Germany trip and I have no regrets. Highly recommend Schnitzel, cheese sausage and the cucumber salad!

Third visit! In addition to the very delicious crispy pork chops (come quickly if you like salty and sweet), rich blue bleu cheese pork chops, delicious fried potatoes and potato salad, and delicious and sweet king muffins, you must have a cup of cappuccino after the meal! The coffee is full of aroma, the milk foam is delicate and has a dense taste, the milk flavor and coffee are fully integrated without any milky smell, it is super delicious! ! ! The food in the restaurant is okay: home-style, Austrian home cooking (including Wiener Schnitzel, Cordon Bleu, Kaiserschmarrn). I was able to convince myself of this on the first visit. In any case, the quality is better than, for example, in the Paulaner. However, the ambience is not for everyone. The place seems a bit hazy, stuffy and dark - especially when it's full. However, the second visit on the occasion of a birthday was very disappointing. I made a reservation for this in advance. A day before the appointment, I called the restaurant and informed them that we would be arriving 20 minutes later than the originally agreed time. According to the information, they thanked you for the information and took it into account. When I reached the restaurant a day later with my guests as planned, I was told at reception that the table had been taken because we didn't arrive on time (20 later). When I pointed out that I had called a day in advance to advise of the small change, I only received a shrug of the shoulders. There was no initiative to find a solution, e.g. bridging the waiting time until a table was free, a drink on the house, etc., after all, the mistake was clearly made by the restaurant - NOTHING. It was simply pointed out that someone tried to call me 15 minutes ago. However, here I was traveling in the car (30 minute journey time) and didn't notice the call. In terms of service, definitely 0 stars. Consolidated with the first visit just 2 stars.

The Wiener Schnitzel is very thin and super tasty. Even though we were already full, we had the Kaiserschmarrn - a dream and an absolute "must" The menu is short and sweet, as it should be.

Service was fast and very friendly. The food, however, was disappointing; our Wiener Schnitzel (medium portion) was extremely thin. The breading was thicker than the veal. Kaiserschmand (sour cream) was not fluffy, or rather, a thick mass. The espresso lacked crema.

I always really enjoy coming here. The service is always very friendly and quick. The food is always very good and sufficient for the price! You should make a reservation for lunch as there is always a lot going on :)

We don't quite understand the good reviews. We ate here a few weeks ago and both had the Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad. The schnitzel was almost entirely breaded; if you chewed it for too long, you could only taste butter in your mouth. Of course, a Wiener Schnitzel is supposed to be nice and thin, but the meat was as thin as a carpaccio. You couldn't taste the meat at all, and unfortunately, it was almost unseasoned. The potato salad was okay, but in our opinion, it wasn't quite right, as it had nothing to do with an Austrian potato salad. Overall, the meal didn't justify the high price for a "carpaccio-like" schnitzel.

We can only disagree with the voices regarding the unfriendly service here. Reserved in the gondola, four of us came here to enjoy good Austrian cuisine. All four main courses, as well as the Kaiserschmarren for dessert, were really excellent. The wait staff looked after us very well and was friendly despite the high volume of business.

We were at the Salzkammer restaurant in Frankfurt and both had the schnitzel – and it was really tasty! Super crispy, juicy and perfectly seasoned. There were also fried potatoes, which went perfectly with it, as well as cranberries and lemon for the perfect taste. The food also came surprisingly quickly. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and inviting. A great place to enjoy a really good schnitzel - we'll be happy to come back!

The veal Wienerschnitzel is one of the best I have eaten in Germany - Frankfurt. Tender meat, fried until crispy. Service very friendly and accommodating.

Unfortunately I have to revise my review downwards. We were there on February 1st, 2025. The tartar had obviously been shredded in a Thermomix or similar and had received heat in the process and was partly gray-white on the cut edges. Schnitzel and “stretched” chicken were no longer “top”. It's a shame, but the team is still very, very nice. We will probably no longer go to the salt chamber after 5-6 visits. Very good food, great friendly team! We'll be back! Were here for the second time today January 18th, 2020, everything was great! Very, very nice staff, food great. As dedicated hobby chefs - who certainly don't make things easy for professionals - we are a little spoiled, but Salzkammer: Great!

We only go to the salt chamber because of the Kaiserschmarrn. So delicious that it has become a ritual. The only thing you should be aware of is to reserve two to three days in advance, otherwise you will most likely not get a place. Otherwise - great rustic atmosphere, good service.

It was a great choice to stop there! The fried potatoes were amazing and the best I've eaten in a long time! Service is very high quality and professional, you feel very comfortable there. The only subjective drawback: The schnitzel could have been a little stronger, but less breaded.

Great restaurant with classic, fresh and regional Austrian-German cuisine. Staff super fast and friendly. After a small mishap, which we didn't find particularly serious, the entire dish was naturally removed from the bill. Where else can you find something like this in Germany today? We will definitely come back next time we are in Frankfurt!

Lotado de pessoas da cidade, conseguimos sentar no balcão (onde almoçaríamos), e depois liberou uma mesa e nos transferiram. Schnitzel maravilhoso. Finíssimo e suculento, é possível cortá-lo com o garfo. Ótimo chopp e boa carta de vinhos em taça. O strudel de sobremesa também não pode ser ignorado.

Excellent veal schnitzel. Light, tender and big with an option to upsize. I didn’t take many photos but it was one of the best I’ve had. Beer was great too. Another standout was the coffee. Hot and strong Melbourne grade which hit the spot. On the downside the wine list is limited. I’d have liked a crisp dry Riesling rather than the fruitier aged whites on offer. In all highly recommended, good value and great atmosphere.

They give you a timer you need to leave when your time is up as they are extremely busy however, the chicken schnitzel me and my wife ordered wasn’t Cooked all the way and had blood dripping when we cut it, no topologies they justified by saying it’s type of Austrian chicken they use, waited extremely long time to get the bill to leave worse customer experience me and my wife ever received.

There were five of us and we were completely satisfied. It's important to make a reservation, otherwise you'll have bad cards. Definitely worth a visit

Había elegido este restaurante en particular porque tiene productos básicos austriacos y estaba cerca. Esperaba con ansias el Kaiserschmarrn, un plato austriaco de desayuno o desierto que es similar a una tortita dado su ingrediente, pero ahí es donde termina la similitud. Es mucho más esponjoso, como un suflé, se sirve con salsa de ciruelas y salsa de vainilla y toma mucho tiempo prepararlo. Sin embargo, ese no era el caso en este restaurante. Cuando lo pedimos, el camarero se refirió a él como caramelizado Kaiserschmarrn. Descubrimos que significaba Kaiserschmarrn viejo, denso y apenas recalentado. Las comidas principales también fueron muy decepcionantes. He tenido un mejor ejemplo de lo que pedimos en una cabaña de esquí austriaca - uno estaba mal cocinado y el otro parecía una vez más ser recalentado. No recomendaría este lugar.

This is a high quality restaurant for traditional German/Austrian (Schnitzel, Sausage, traditional deserts, beer etc.) style food in a central location of the city. There is inside and outside seating available.

The food is great. The older man who works in service falls down because of his unfriendliness. Were there several times. So it wasn't a bad day. It doesn't make me feel welcome.

Ambience was very nice Service was very nice n good. 9/10 We didn’t have reservation but they managed to seat us at a big table which later we shared with another couple but they were also very nice people so all good. Foods are delicious Only next time we should order the special Frankfurt green sauce for the schnitzel. They are good and unique. The dessert was wonderful. It came with the apricot sauce which was recommended. Truly delicious. Will come back again whenever we come again in Frankfurt.

I've been coming here for years. I think the senior's restaurant is a bit better, but the two sons also do a great job. Without a reservation it is often difficult to get a table, but the service does its best to remain flexible and is usually successful. The menu is very clear so you can quickly decide what you want to eat. I can highly recommend the Wiener Schnitzel here. Perfect breading, delicious side dishes. You have the option to choose from three sizes, small, normal and large - depending on your hunger. Dessert is Kaiserschmarrn, which can easily be eaten by two or three people. It's delicious, but it could be even better :) The food, service and ambience are simply top.

Simply sensationally delicious!!! I've rarely eaten such great chicken, here it's called fried chicken, of course, with potato salad on the side - a dream all in one! For dessert, the ice cream apricot dumpling gave me goosebumps! I was also allowed to try the Kaiserschmarrn and could only be amazed! The service was absolutely friendly, humorous and totally on the ball! I can only recommend!!!

Great restaurant! Busy place for dinner on Friday night. We didnt have a reservation but they still accommodated us with time limit of 1 hour which is fine as we only wanted to dine. Servers were all super nice and friendly. Menu posted here from 5 years ago was not accurate as menu has change a lot. They only have 2 -3 schnitzel option on the menu but theyre made from Veal which is a lot better than pork. Had option of 1-3 portion. Ordered 2 portion as it seems like the portion would not be big but we were wrong. Had 2 portions enough for 2 people to finish. Definitely made well and glad we ordered it.

Before this visit, this used to be one of my favorite Frankfurt restaurants. What happened? I came straight from the airport to the restaurant because I was worried I might not be seated. I might have looked a bit rough with my backpack and two day beard stubbles. I walked in and saw that they were busy though there were at least two tables open and seats at the counter. Outside barely anyone sat except a couple with red blankets. There was space for 20-30 guests. Well? I was turned away. And not friendly. I was first gestured to wait which I patiently did. And then I was told that they had no space. And it was the tone more than the message. I was not welcome! I was not even afforded an expression of regret or thanks for stopping by. I was simply not wanted. Next some German guests simply sat down as I was googling outside alternative restaurants. And when I pointed this out, the manager told me again without any apology for any misunderstanding that if I wanted I could sit outside. I did hoping the restaurant would redeem itself. But no: I was not offered a blanket unlike two other guests. The tone stayed unfriendly and the service was perfunctory. But now the real bummer: The Kaiserschmarrn was served luke warm, it had little apple sauce, and, well, I did not like it. I won't be back. Manners matter! So does tasty food.

As a true Austrian, I can only say: It tastes like home with mom and is probably the best schnitzel in Frankfurt (and probably Hesse too). It's best to always make a reservation as the restaurant is almost always full.
