The waiter was rude. We didn't even take place and we left. Not a very good place for foreigners.

Actually very tasty and good. I just lacked a bit of finesse. If you're in the mood for Austrian cuisine, you'll get your money's worth here

Simply sensationally delicious!!! I've rarely eaten such great chicken, here it's called fried chicken, of course, with potato salad on the side - a dream all in one! For dessert, the ice cream apricot dumpling gave me goosebumps! I was also allowed to try the Kaiserschmarrn and could only be amazed! The service was absolutely friendly, humorous and totally on the ball! I can only recommend!!!

We always enjoy coming here because the Wiener Schnitzel is unbeatably delicious - an absolute must for all lovers of Austrian cuisine. But it's not just the food that's a highlight: the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. You really feel welcome and in good hands here. However, due to its great popularity, it is advisable to reserve a table in good time.

Great restaurant! Busy place for dinner on Friday night. We didnt have a reservation but they still accommodated us with time limit of 1 hour which is fine as we only wanted to dine. Servers were all super nice and friendly. Menu posted here from 5 years ago was not accurate as menu has change a lot. They only have 2 -3 schnitzel option on the menu but theyre made from Veal which is a lot better than pork. Had option of 1-3 portion. Ordered 2 portion as it seems like the portion would not be big but we were wrong. Had 2 portions enough for 2 people to finish. Definitely made well and glad we ordered it.

Had the veal schnitzel, sauerkraut, and a festbier. The veal schnitzel and roasted potatoes were excellent and the sauerkraut (with bacon in it) was the best I’ve had yet. The service was helpful and friendly.

I think you need to make a reservation after 6pm. We were able to eat because we visited at 5pm.

Before this visit, this used to be one of my favorite Frankfurt restaurants. What happened? I came straight from the airport to the restaurant because I was worried I might not be seated. I might have looked a bit rough with my backpack and two day beard stubbles. I walked in and saw that they were busy though there were at least two tables open and seats at the counter. Outside barely anyone sat except a couple with red blankets. There was space for 20-30 guests. Well? I was turned away. And not friendly. I was first gestured to wait which I patiently did. And then I was told that they had no space. And it was the tone more than the message. I was not welcome! I was not even afforded an expression of regret or thanks for stopping by. I was simply not wanted. Next some German guests simply sat down as I was googling outside alternative restaurants. And when I pointed this out, the manager told me again without any apology for any misunderstanding that if I wanted I could sit outside. I did hoping the restaurant would redeem itself. But no: I was not offered a blanket unlike two other guests. The tone stayed unfriendly and the service was perfunctory. But now the real bummer: The Kaiserschmarrn was served luke warm, it had little apple sauce, and, well, I did not like it. I won't be back. Manners matter! So does tasty food.

Had a lovely time there and above all a real, original Wiener Schnitzel. The service was very attentive and even had a good joke. All in all a lovely evening.

As a true Austrian, I can only say: It tastes like home with mom and is probably the best schnitzel in Frankfurt (and probably Hesse too). It's best to always make a reservation as the restaurant is almost always full.

Generally nice staff who work very quickly. I think reservations are recommended in case of doubt, as two people can sometimes get a spot spontaneously. The menu is clearly laid out and the schnitzels taste really good. Prices are okay for the location and quality.

10/10. Definitely worth a visit! The best schnitzel I've eaten in a long time!! The dessert was also super delicious. You should definitely make a reservation because it is really busy. The waiters were also super nice and made you feel comfortable, something we rarely experience. The only thing we didn't like was that the tables were so close together. Not bad in itself unless you are constantly being watched from the neighboring table while eating. But the restaurant can't do anything about it.

Reservation is essential and then there are fixed time slots. Extremely quick service, there is a little bit of a problem when reordering. Typical Austrian cuisine, sufficiently large portions. The ambience is okay, but very cramped and quite loud. I imagine a cozy dinner differently.

Wonderful restaurant! The schnitzel is delicious, and the service was prompt, friendly, and welcoming. The interior brought me back to a quaint restaurant I visited in Salzburg several years ago. We didn't have a reservation, but we had come in for a very early dinner, so we did get to sit and enjoy our first meal and beers in Frankfurt peacefully. Get a reservation so you don't miss out on this wonderful place!!

The food was very good, typical German plates but the service was bad. Both waitresses seemed to had a bad mood, long waiting time to get my orders, not friendly at all and when I called them to ask for more drinks or for the bill they looked like I was bothering them.

In the normal version, the schnitzel was very large or there are two schnitzels. The potatoes were a bit “boring”. I missed the classic butter taste a little. The salad with chicken was very tasty.

Food is pretty good, the attitude of staff less so - overall came across as quite abrasive. When paying the bill, one of the staff was aggressively pushing the foreign lady next to us to tip, which was quite embarrassing and unelegant.

The Cordon Bleu for lunch and a delicious beer - there's nothing better!! The spicy cheese in the Cordon Bleu is amazing!

The food is ok but I recommend avoiding for the attitude of the waiters. They found me a seat outside with no reservation at 1:30 pm on a Saturday. It was a shared table (even though inside was mainly empty) - but whatever, no complaints since I just turned up. First, no-one came to take my order for 5/10 minutes. So I had to walk up to a waiter. When the food came - the meal itself was fine, nothing amazing nothing terrible. Then after I finished, I spent another 5/10 minutes trying to get the waiter's attention. Several waiters passed tending to other outside tables but no-one thought to look up and check on other tables (the restaurant wasn't even busy at this time - a few tables outside and 2 tables inside occupied). So I ended up walking inside to ask for the bill. Without even asking how the meal was or apologising for the delay, the waiter (the one with the moustache) said "The tip is not included. You can leave a 5% or 10% tip". First of all, buddy - this isn't the US. Second, I might be a tourist but I'm no fool. I'm not tipping here if the service is bad. So I clicked "no tip" on the machine and he had the audacity to exclaim "No tip? Really!?". To be clear, if the service had been good (or even average) I would have left a tip. The meal itself was already €26. I asked "Is it mandatory to leave a tip in Germany?" (already checking beforehand that it isn't) and he loudly exclaimed to the earshot of everyone inside "Of course! We live off tips". Then he added, "if you decide to come back, then you know maybe..." I don't know what he meant to add after the "maybe" - I'm not sure how the service could have been much worse unless they'd spat in my food. Anyway at that point I just walked out. Maybe if you're not a tourist, you won't have the same experience as me. But I'd recommend avoiding as a tourist unless you're comfortable with them trying to guilt trip you into leaving a tip regardless of the service.

We are it all and very tasty. I wish employees were not smoking during our meal.

The restaurant manager refused to let us sit in the restaurant despite there was a space, because we were from Israel.

The atmosphere is very sweet, the schnitzel is delicious and satisfying, the staff is top notch🥰 you can eat raw chicken🙏🏻 You may need to make a reservation for the evening.

When we arrived, the gentleman at the reception was so busy with his dissertation (it must have been something like that) that he didn't even look up to greet his new guests. My friend then took over and asked if she could use the toilet in the meantime. So I continued to wait to be assigned a table. When he finally finished typing after a few minutes, he walked away without a word and left me standing there. To the counter, to random tables, back and forth, cleared something away. It felt like 15 minutes passed and he kept me/us waiting. When he deigned to turn to us, I told him that we didn't want to eat at his place today. It was my birthday and I was actually looking forward to a nice evening. To the gentleman personally: What do you actually think of wasting our time like that? Who do you think you are? I'd throw you out of town for something like that. We then went to another restaurant. Table assignment in 15 seconds with great service and 25% tip. The salt chamber died for me because of this disrespect.

The food was okay (the schnitzel at MainNizza is a bit better). The service was sad. The waiter asked "will there be a tip?", we said "no", he said "I almost thought so". Incredible.

Sorry, but I cannot recommend this place. 2024.08.24 I had dinner in the evening. I go to Europe 4 or 5 times every year for work. At this time, I also act as a guide for my companions. I've been to Frankfurt more than 10 times, and this is the first time I've been ripped off. I stopped by to have a quick beer. Two Asian women at the table next to me were eating pasta, schnitzel, and salad, so I asked for the same. We added beer and free tap water. I also attach the final payment receipt and photos of the food. I didn't order anything more than this. Backhendl is a fried chicken dish. I was charged for it even though I never ate it, and I only ordered one schnitzel, but got two. “It’s a bit strange. Can you give me an English receipt?” It doesn't work. And the calculation is correct. The people in my group were public officials on a business trip, so I couldn't wait any longer and left, but the image of Frankfurt was a complete abyss. Be careful of the fat lady with black horn-rimmed glasses and tattoos all over her arms.

The place cannot be rated at length. It's simply very good, with distinctive, delicious flavors. A place to which one would like to return. The service is fast, polite and helpful. The price-value ratio is great. Good place!

How were 4 girls last night? The meal was excellent. The waiter, on the other hand, was horrible!! Just because we didn't quite understand the cat he thought he could give us a lesson in Austria... the plates were slapped down sloppily and we had to ask for dessert twice!! It's a shame it doesn't match the food! Last but not least, he asked for a tip and, of course, said no, he threw the receipt on the table and disappeared!!!! Food top service flop hope he leaves it!!!!!!

In the middle of Frankfurt you can eat like you're in Austria. We were there when the weather was very nice, so you can sit outside and enjoy. I had classic Wiener Schnitzel and my companion had a baked salad. Everything tasted great and with a good Austrian wine it was a perfect evening. That was great.

Best Austrian cuisine in the heart of Frankfurt. All employees are friendly and in a good mood. you notice the friends at work. The food is just incredibly delicious. The Cordon Bleu is my insider tip. (thin, tender veal, crispy breading all around, with hearty cheese and delicious ham in between, with potato salad or optionally fried potatoes - that's all you need) The kitchen does a damn good job. Early reservation is strongly recommended!

Came across this restaurant and their schnitzel is awesome. I read the google review and went for the recommendation most people shared to get medium instead of small. No regrets. Staff is nice as well. The sausages are good recommendations by the staff.

Everything was so good. The food is awesome and the service is good.

A fairly small menu, but nice portions to fill you up. Prices are completely reasonable and it's something different. The cheese dumplings were very filling, but I was actually missing that little bit of pizzazz to round off the dish perfectly. Still tasty.

Delicious Austrian delicacies. The Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad is always very good. Very thin veal with perfect breading, it just fits. The extremely good Kaiserschmarrn is highly recommended as dessert. The service team is always nice and you always feel comfortable and welcome. A clear recommendation from me, we always enjoy coming here. The proximity to the Hauptwache car park is very practical for guests who come by car. Remember to reserve a table in advance, otherwise it could be difficult. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Magnificent restaurant with local food. Powerful flavors, all very delicious and at the right price. The spectacular sausages and the finger-licking Apfelstrudel. Black and blonde beer also very nice.

Unexpectedly got a table outside at lunchtime at short notice. As always, the food was very tasty. Only the service staff could have been less snotty.

Tatarák is not very well seasoned and tasteless

I'm not in the habit of writing reviews, even of places where I've had a negative experience. But here I have to say that the disappointment was so strong that I decided to write. Very good food, so much so that we decided to come back to eat here. On the first attempt, despite 2 empty tables and a waitress who was looking for a table for us, a second waiter shouted something in German and made us say that there was no place and to come back after 30 minutes... 30 minutes later we come back, the waiters they pass us ignoring us, and after another 10 minutes they tell us that the kitchen was closed. Now I don't know why they didn't want to seat us but having been a waitress for 15 years I assure you that such an attitude is really in bad taste. Especially when there were no problems on the first evening (at least on our part). It doesn't matter how good your dishes are but the staff should behave with more education and professionalism... I'm really sorry to give one star but you deserve it all.

The restaurant is good, large, and well-decorated. Ordering was quick, and the food arrived promptly. The service was good, and the staff are friendly. I had the Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn; both were tasty but not spectacular. I recommend getting the regular-sized Schnitzel as the small was too small. Prices are a bit high for what you receive, but overall, I recommend this restaurant.

The schnitzel is good but nothing more, it's a shame that there isn't even a sauce, of course I understand that with the Austrian concept, but it would be nice if you could offer something like that. It wasn't a waste of money but I don't need a second visit.

The first time in the Restraunt, to the salt chamber because I was coming from an appointment and wasn't quite sure what I was going to eat, I decided to try out the Restraunt Salzkammer. I ordered a drink and an original Wiener Schnitzel I said I would have, the dish was lukewarm with potato salad. When the waiter brought me the food, to my annoyance, it was fried potatoes that were rather soft and not crispy. What also annoyed me was that the waiter gave preference to 2 women and made nice eyes. The waiter apologized that there was no potato salad. I still don't think it's right if you as a customer want that and don't get it, which is against the service of the restraunt.

UNfortunately this is Not a tourist friendly place.I walked miles to reach here from my hotel but as ı was alone,other tables were not allowed me to sit. A place which is very uncomfortable next to staff counter was the only choice given to me. I didn’t accept his unkind behaviour and left without sitting. This was a bad experience for me in Frankfurt.

The website says reservation required. On the website mentioned, the reservation system does not work. When I called for the fifth time to ask if there was still a table available, there was still no answer. When we got there it was relatively empty, but we were immediately told that we weren't allowed to eat here for longer than 90 minutes. OK. The food, especially the Cordon Bleu, was very good. Our conversation was rudely interrupted and we were “quickly sent away” with the bill. The waitress was rude. Didn't even say please and generally seemed very disinterested in the customers and their wishes. Very unfortunate.

I ate the typical dish of frankfurters and potatoes, and I recommend it if you want to try the gastronomy of this city. I have tried others, and I have a very good opinion compared to these.

Beautiful space and environment. Had a really good service, the server was kind, attentive and speaked english very good. The food was well cooked and tasty (we had deboned viennese chicken and Schnitzel). The bear was also amazing. For desert we had the small kaiserschmarrn that was more that enough for two people (amazing btw).

Wir wollten vor allem etwas trinken und evtl. eine Kleinigkeit essen, reserviert hatten wir auch nicht. Dennoch wurde ein Platz für uns gefunden. Dann doch noch eine Kleinigkeit gegessen - was auch sehr gut war. Service sehr freundlich, wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Sehr gerne wieder.

Went there for lunch and also took the menu. The salad with it was great, as was the cordon bleu, with spinach and sun-dried tomatoes... very tasty Dessert was included, but that was a tiny cube of dry cake. Was not good. Otherwise very nice staff and delicious.

The food was ok (just a bit overpriced) however the staff was incredibly unfriendly and rude. They pressured us to give tip and pushed us to finish eating our dinner within 30mins even though we had made a reservaion in advance. They even asked us to pay the bill while we we were still eating.

Our server was very friendly and she spoke English well. Food was good and portions large. Menu available in English and credit card payment offered. We had a reservation for 12:00 on a Thursday. By 12:30 they were turning away people without reservations because they were full, so make sure to make one in advance if you can.
