Best place in Frankfurt to eat a proper Wiener Schnitzel. The salad starter was really good and fresh, and so was the green sauce for the schnitzel!

Unfortunately, the quality of the dishes has declined significantly in recent years. The Kaiserschmarrn used to be really good – now it (like the Käsespätzle) is just a mushy and sticky mess. Neither the boneless roast chicken nor the Wiener schnitzel nor the chicken breast salad impressed us at our family/birthday dinner. It's a shame, no one really enjoyed it. The food was simply far too expensive for the value, which was also underscored by the inconsistently friendly service.

Visiting from Düsseldorf, we were told that the best schnitzels in town could be found at the "Salzkammer" restaurant, so of course we wanted to try it... And indeed, we've rarely eaten such fantastic Wiener Schnitzel. The side dishes (we had parsley potatoes, i.e., fried potatoes with the skin on) were also excellent. Portion sizes were selectable (small = 1, regular = 2, large = 3 schnitzels), and regular is filling and long-lasting. The food was excellent, the drinks menu also had an extremely diverse beer selection, and the service outside in the cozy little beer garden in the alley next to the restaurant was excellent. It was a very harmonious and, above all, delicious evening. Excellent value for money. We'll definitely be back next time.... Addendum: We were there again on September 6th. Fantastic, an absolute recommendation for schnitzel lovers!!!

Schnitzels, beer, service - OK.

The owner is not pleasant at all. We arrived as 4 tourists and he wouldn't let us sit inside, only at a table on the road. The food is not tasty. The soup is so salty it's inedible. The pasta is not tasty. And the service is beyond reproach. Even when we said it wasn't tasty, they wouldn't accept the dish. Just don't go in. 100 euros that went to waste.

Food was good, bit pricey, €40 for an entree, dessert and a drink. Apple strudel was excellent.

We've been here twice now. The food was delicious each time and brought back memories of our vacation in Austria. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and attentive. We'll definitely be back...!

It seemed like a nice place to eat, but unfortunately, it was no longer possible at 9:45 PM. Our son had bought a slushie but had to throw it away or at least not be allowed on the table. How disappointing. The dog, however, got a bowl of water.

We found this restaurant by accident, and are very glad that we did. We had a wonderful schnitzel (the BEST of our entire trip through six cities) and also a fresh green salad with chicken that was delicious deliciously and freshly fried. The beer was wonderful, the dessert was good, but most importantly, our server, a lovely young woman named Lela, made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommended,

Very tasty schnitzel, recommended

I wanted to go there for a schnitzel. When I sat down at an empty table, the waiter forced me to sit at a table where others were already sitting, even though there were several more free tables. Since I was sitting outside and wanted to smoke a cigarette, I specifically sat at an empty table. The people at the occupied table, where I was forced to sit, said, quote: "Do you really have to smoke?" So I left immediately. This place has zero Austrianness about it. In Austria, the customer is king. Just because I wasn't wearing Gucci or some such crap, the staff turned me away. I'm from Austria. Change your name or go to hell. That's not how you treat guests, not in Austria.

The oil had a strange taste. Frankly, I felt like I was eating fried fish. The portion was more than adequate, but the flavor was average. Appointments are recommended.

The schnitzel tasted very good. But a simple dish like this, isn't supposed to be expensive like this. The medium, which for context was a schnitzel of 2mm thick, looks massive but doesn't fill you up like you expect and was (i think) €26,50.

A decent place in Frankfurt where you can taste chicken schnitzel and beer. It would be a good idea to make a reservation for after 18:00. It's a popular spot because it's close to the Goethe house.

This place is a must to visit while you’re in Frankfort. An excellent food, staff and service! The atmosphere was great and Yannick (our waiter) went an extra mile to ensure we have what we need. Sorry for not including pictures of our delicious dinner but it was so good that we dove in right away and kept going until the plates were clean:-)

The salad, schnitzel, and potatoes with plum sauce and beef broth were all delicious. It's a nice, clean place in the heart of the city, yet quiet and comfortable for conversation. We went on a recommendation, and we recommend it.

The best schnitzel I've ever eaten! The green sauce was solid. The cordon bleu also tasted excellent, but looked a bit unappetizing after cutting into it – probably the cheese was too moist and lost water during cooking. A quick tip: Pat the cheese dry beforehand or freeze it briefly – or simply wrap it in ham so it stays in shape better during cooking. Because otherwise, that's exactly what happens, see photo. We'll definitely go back!

Yesterday, three of us ate here – great food, top service, perfect all around. We spent over €200 and wanted to come back today because we were so convinced. But what happened today was simply rude and embarrassing. A different employee was there than yesterday – obviously completely overwhelmed. We were coldly turned away, even though several tables were free. His reason? He literally said: "I can't do my job anyway, I can't even manage to wipe the tables." And as if that wasn't absurd enough, he added an annoyed: "That's not how it works!!" What exactly? That guests show up and hope someone does their job? That wasn't a rejection, that was a dismissal due to incompetence and disrespect. If you don't want guests, you shouldn't have them – it's that simple. Yesterday, potential regulars – today, certainly never again. And all because of a single, completely unsuitable person on the team. Unbelievable.

We didn't make a reservation for our meal. An older employee without a uniform randomly picked a table with a reserved sign for us to sit. My husband wanted to sit in the brighter seat at the back, but this table didn't have a reserved sign. The employee said that someone had reserved it and that we only had 30 minutes to eat at this table. Then he put a reserved sign on it! We ordered a medium size schnitzel, a large salad, some green sauce, and a large cider. When the older employee put the cider on the table, he deliberately said 1 drink 2 people, but didn't say anything special about the other food. I have seen people order larger drinks for 2 people to share in other German restaurants, so why did they deliberately say that? The overall food quality was okay. The schnitzel was too thin, and you could only taste the crispness but not the taste of meat. Except for the older employee, all other employees were very friendly

People here seem to be full. The question is, what?! The food is certainly good. However, if you come here at 10 p.m., you'll be turned away. In a very bored manner, we were told to go somewhere else. At the same time, orders were being taken from the guests present. I like the Salzkammer. The owner or owners should reconsider whether this behavior might not be a disaster at some point.

We went there around 4 PM for snacks and some beers. We were not even given a table, even though the outside area was half empty. The reason? They are a “restaurant”. The way how the server talked was also quite snobby and rude. If they do not want customers during the non-busy hours, their loss I guess. Will not even go there with my business clients or for team events.

Nice outdoor seating. I don’t know how it compares to here, but comparing it to home (US) it was amazing. Nice snap in the sausage casing and full of flavor and perfect smoky chunks of bacon in the sauerkraut. Tasty brown bread on the side and a truly yummy Weissbier. Perfect first meal in Germany.

Great restaurant in the city. The waiters are really nice, and everything went smoothly with the reservation. The server could have brought drinks more often. They were missing out on sales, or rather, guests were thirsty. The food was really delicious. The potato salad was very good. You have to like fried potatoes as triplets. My chicken could have been left a little warmer, but otherwise everyone was very satisfied. It's a shame the ice cream was empty. Desserts were available without, though, and the flexible waiter simply made vanilla sauce instead. So super flexible. Great restaurant! A window seat or outside is the best place to sit in warm weather. See you next time.

This was the worst experience during my 15-city trip to 7 countries. First, the taste. Has the Korean who said it was delicious never tried German schnitzel, Japanese gyukatsu, or Korean high-end tonkatsu? And when I visited alone, they said there were only bar seats, so I sat down, but an Eastern European who came in right away just gave me a table for 4? The worst part is the service. I was ignored dozens of times before ordering food and while waiting for the bill. In the end, I had to call out loud and they responded as if it was annoying. Usually, in the US, you tip 30%, and in other countries, you tip 20%, but here, I didn't want to give even 1%. (I told them I would give it to places that don't accept tips. I tip in Korea too.)

The best Schnitzel I had in Germany! Austrian schnitzel is a different style but I prefer it so much more. Food is great and it is served pretty quickly. Recommend you book a table if you can though the reservation website doesn’t seem to work! The place is always filled with people. Went there twice during my Germany trip and I have no regrets. Highly recommend Schnitzel, cheese sausage and the cucumber salad!

Third visit! In addition to the very delicious crispy pork chops (come quickly if you like salty and sweet), rich blue bleu cheese pork chops, delicious fried potatoes and potato salad, and delicious and sweet king muffins, you must have a cup of cappuccino after the meal! The food in the restaurant is okay: home-style, Austrian home cooking (including Wiener Schnitzel, Cordon Bleu, Kaiserschmarrn). I was able to convince myself of this on the first visit. In any case, the quality is better than, for example, in the Paulaner. However, the ambience is not for everyone. The place seems a bit hazy, stuffy and dark - especially when it's full. However, the second visit on the occasion of a birthday was very disappointing. I made a reservation for this in advance. A day before the appointment, I called the restaurant and informed them that we would be arriving 20 minutes later than the originally agreed time. According to the information, they thanked you for the information and took it into account. When I reached the restaurant a day later with my guests as planned, I was told at reception that the table had been taken because we didn't arrive on time (20 later). When I pointed out that I had called a day in advance to advise of the small change, I only received a shrug of the shoulders. There was no initiative to find a solution, e.g. bridging the waiting time until a table was free, a drink on the house, etc., after all, the mistake was clearly made by the restaurant - NOTHING. It was simply pointed out that someone tried to call me 15 minutes ago. However, here I was traveling in the car (30 minute journey time) and didn't notice the call. In terms of service, definitely 0 stars. Consolidated with the first visit just 2 stars.

The Wiener Schnitzel is very thin and super tasty. Even though we were already full, we had the Kaiserschmarrn - a dream and an absolute "must" The menu is short and sweet, as it should be.

Service was fast and very friendly. The food, however, was disappointing; our Wiener Schnitzel (medium portion) was extremely thin. The breading was thicker than the veal. Kaiserschmand (sour cream) was not fluffy, or rather, a thick mass. The espresso lacked crema.

Unique in Frankfurt. Super delicious food and great service. There were four of us and we had a great evening with excellent food and an unusual selection. We don't quite understand the good reviews. We ate here a few weeks ago and both had the Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad. The schnitzel was almost entirely breaded; if you chewed it for too long, you could only taste butter in your mouth. Of course, a Wiener Schnitzel is supposed to be nice and thin, but the meat was as thin as a carpaccio. You couldn't taste the meat at all, and unfortunately, it was almost unseasoned. The potato salad was okay, but in our opinion, it wasn't quite right, as it had nothing to do with an Austrian potato salad. Overall, the meal didn't justify the high price for a "carpaccio-like" schnitzel.

We can only disagree with the voices regarding the unfriendly service here. Reserved in the gondola, four of us came here to enjoy good Austrian cuisine. All four main courses, as well as the Kaiserschmarren for dessert, were really excellent. The wait staff looked after us very well and was friendly despite the high volume of business.
