Really good food, worth visiting. My only comment: why do you call a small portion "for women" and a large one "for men"? Come on, we are in 2024 where people can order the portions they like without assigning labels.

First time in Frankfurt, we stumbled upon this restaurant for dinner. We were very well received, the waiters were very friendly and joked with us, in French to boot! The atmosphere is very friendly, family and warm. The cuisine is delicious, our dishes were recommended to us by the waiters, we advise you to taste the homemade Cordon bleu strudel and especially the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert, a delight!!!!! In short and simple, go there with your eyes closed! And we hope to come back very soon!!!!

Very tasty food and a cuisine that you can't find on every corner

We dined there yesterday by chance. Super friendly service, wonderfully tasty food! The restaurant is highly recommended! We'll be back!

We were there with a larger group. Even though there wasn't really a lot of space available, that's exactly what made it extremely comfortable. The food was to die for. Top quality and extremely tasty prepared. Top service is also included in the price, which is really more than reasonable. We'll definitely be back.

I would like to say something positive about dinner, but the 'Kleiner Brauner' (espresso) was such an absolute disgrace that I can only give one star for the entire meal. Also W Complaining to the waiter didn't help. He regretted that they didn't have a portafilter machine but only a fully automatic coffee machine. Although the disputed espresso was left there, it was charged. A shame for an Austrian restaurant. If you can't make a decent coffee, you shouldn't offer it.

I had an incredible experience at Edelweiss. Although I was traveling solo, the waitstaff was so incredibly friendly and conversational that I felt like I wasn’t dining alone. I ordered venison ragout with dumplings and red cabbage off of the seasonal autumn menu. My delightful waiter told me that his family are hunters and that they hunted the venison themselves. The meat was so tender, with a richly flavorful gravy and no gamey taste. I was in heaven. Each bite was savored slowly, and washed down with a locally brewed wheat beer. Dessert was also from the seasonal menu…apricot dumpling with vanilla cream. Good gracious, I can’t wait to go back!

Really good food, especially the schnitzels are highly recommended, the Kaiserschmarrn is also excellent. You should definitely make a reservation on the weekend, the Edelweiss is usually very busy.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant Edelweiß in Frankfurt Sachsenhausen and it was an absolute highlight! The food was not only excellent, but also exceeded the highest expectations. Every dish was prepared with a lot of love and care. I would particularly like to highlight the friendly and courteous staff. The staff were extremely attentive and made sure we felt completely comfortable. I can honestly say that I haven't eaten so well in Frankfurt for a long time. The Edelweiss has won a permanent place in my heart and I am already looking forward to my next visit! Unreserved recommendation for anyone who wants to dine first-class in Sachsenhausen!

We had dinner at Edelweiss this evening. When we arrived at 6 p.m., we were promised a table until 7:30 p.m. After half an hour we had finished our food but not yet our drinks, we were asked if we would like to order anything else. When we said no, a short time later we were politely asked to clear the table and sit at the bar stools. A few minutes later we were asked again if we would like to order something else to drink, even though we still hadn't finished our first drink. When we said no again, a short time later (6:45 p.m.) the bill was presented to us without asking, with the request to pay and the explanation that they are a small company and have to think economically. In short, after a dinner with two drinks, you were asked to leave the restaurant after 45 minutes, even though you were promised a table (and no bar stool!) for 1.5 hours. I have never experienced anything like this in my life and will not eat here again.

A little trip to Austria without the many kilometers... fun atmosphere, great menu, delicious food. And...affordable. Gladly again!

Very tasty food. You feel like you're in Austria

The food is delicious and the service is top. Here you can eat dishes like you would in an alpine hut. The location is very central, but right on the street. Therefore a bit loud.

Super delicious food, the cordon bleu with horseradish was ultra tasty and the fried chicken was also very juicy and tasty. There was also potato salad, which was also delicious. Our waitress (an older lady and a younger man) were also really great, very attentive, friendly and humorous. We also enjoyed the schnapps - thank you for a great evening!

This was the best meal of my entire trip between numerous countries. We had the spatzel and schnitzel. If you don't try this food you aren't doing Frankfurt right despite the origins being Austrian. The food was amazing, service was so pleasant, we would more than recommend and look forward to coming back.

It is one of the best Wiener Schnitzel I have ever tried, and it was in Frankfurt, the staff it is just amazing, we didn’t know how to pair our food and they let us trying three different wines so we can make up our mind, dessert, food just amazing!!!

My son and I (father) were in this location for the first time yesterday and were absolutely impressed. Nicely furnished with the option to sit outside. The staff was attentive and very friendly at all times. The meal (3 courses) was impeccably tasty and beautifully presented. It was clear to us that we would come back and so I made a reservation for another one in 14 days and we are looking forward to it.

Simply great! Thank you. Were in the restaurant on EM Saturday (Switzerland vs. Italy). Luckily we got a table even without a reservation and are very happy about it. We were brought to the table by the waiter and received the cards very quickly, at the same time being informed that the asparagus from the daily menu was no longer available. But having another dish at the same time would be something that isn't on the printed menu, and this would also be explained. The drinks came to the table quickly and cold. Just good on a hot day. The order was taken without notes (and absolutely correct). Absolute respect and my admiration. The starters came relatively quickly without much waiting and were beautifully presented. The bread served with it tasted like it was in Tyrol. Here, too, the plates were exchanged for the main course without a long wait, which was well prepared in terms of taste and craftsmanship. We didn't have any dessert because it was enough for us due to the heat and the level of satiety. The waitresses were both very attentive and always took care of our empty glasses. Great eye for it! In general, both were very attentive to the guests, which is something we wish we had more often. The bill was also absolutely fine in my opinion. At the local place you saw a sign apologizing for a small price adjustment. I am of the opinion that good food can and should cost something. In the specific case here at Edelweis, the prices for FFM are really humane. If I'm in FFM again and I'm hungry, I'll be happy to come back. Thanks to the whole team!

WOW, WOW and WOW again! We were at the Edelweiss in FFM on Saturday evening (just before the European Championship game) and can consider ourselves really lucky to have managed to get a place. The ambience of the restaurant is reminiscent of a beautiful alpine hut. Of course, not everyone likes it, but I really like it. The waiters were super nice, super friendly! These are the kind of people you want when you visit a restaurant. We received the tickets very quickly and explained the daily specials again. Meanwhile the drinks were picked up and they came really quickly. So the meal continued, the starters were also brought to the table very quickly - I can really recommend the starter with the gratinated goat cheese to anyone who likes goat cheese - simply heavenly!!! Then came the main courses, the Kasnocken, the Zurich Geschnetzelte and the Wiener Schnitzel. I myself had the Wiener Schnitzel with the parsley potatoes - again heavenly. The potatoes alone were so incredibly tasty that I can really rave about them alone :D The schnitzel was of course just as good ;) We didn't manage to have dessert as we were already too full for that. I would also have liked to try the apricot pancakes here. In terms of price, I think it's completely fair! The three of us paid around €150 for 9 drinks, 2 starters and 3 main courses. You really can't complain about that. I would be happy to go to the Edelweiss again when I'm in Frankfurt again and can really recommend it to everyone!

A cozy atmosphere, right in the middle of Frankfurt city. Absolutely great food. But what makes the store even more valuable is the loving employees who are always smiling and very friendly. Every store depends on its staff. I always enjoy coming back.

I'm annoyed I didn't come here sooner! :D The Wiener Schnitzel was great and the service was very friendly and attentive.

Definitely the best schnitzel I've had. Light, fluffy, tasty! Included quartered potatoes, which were perfectly cooked and salted. Loved the outdoor patio and the location is awesome.

First impression: consistently positive. We ordered 3x Original Zurich Geschnetzeltes. The hash browns were all a bit too dark and, in my opinion, a bit too fatty. The main problem, however, was a long hair in the hash browns that got stuck between my teeth. The waitress, who had been very friendly until then, offered me a small dessert as compensation, which I gladly accepted and ordered the Kaiserschmarrn Sissi. After consulting with her boss (who, however, wasn't in the restaurant because I would have wanted to speak to him in person), she informed me that she could only make a small reduction in the price of dessert (€3.90). I was very surprised about this. In fact she brought us 3 more schnapps. They were on the house. When paying (€102 for 3 main courses, 1x dessert and drinks) I was made aware of the need to tip, which I said no. After a short while, the waitress came to my table again and expressed her anger that she couldn't work for the minimum wage and had to rely on tips. I told her that I would be happy to tip for a successful evening that consists of ambience, service and cuisine, which I do not separate from each other. Unfortunately, I had to discuss things unnecessarily, which further reduced my well-being. The table next door was also surprised and said that they now almost felt compelled to tip. What a shame!

Definitely one of the best austrian restaurants in Frankfurt. Amazingly tasty Wiener Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn. Nice indoor and outdoor seating area. Very friendly service. Only downside is that it has sundays closed. Otherwise, will definitely come back!

The beer is very delicious. The atmosphere is also good. One of the few European restaurants worth visiting in Frankfurt. However, the price is very difficult. Prices quite high for a casual atmosphere.

The Edelweiss on Schweizerstraße in Frankfurt am Main offered an excellent opportunity to enjoy good Austrian cuisine. The salads and schnitzels were particularly delicious. The ambience inside was reminiscent of a cozy mountain hut, which created a pleasant atmosphere. The terrace was also comfortable, even though it was right on the Swiss road, which was sometimes busy. The service was good and very friendly, which made the visit all the more pleasant. The prices were average and therefore fair for the quality of the food and the service provided. In summary, the Edelweiss was a recommendable restaurant and a real culinary alternative to the often standardized offerings of restaurants in Frankfurt.

Great food (we had the Pinzgauer Kas'nocken, the original Wiener Schnitzel and the lukewarm apple strudel) and an extremely friendly team in a cozy, rustic atmosphere.

Erster Eindruck: durchweg positiv. Wir bestellten 3x Original Zürcher Geschnetzeltes. Die Röstis waren allesamt etwas zu dunkel geraten und meines Erachtens auch etwas zu fettig. Das Hauptproblem war allerdings ein langes Haar in den Röstis, das mir zwischen den Zähnen hängen blieb. Die bis dahin noch sehr freundliche Bedienung bot mir an, einen kleinen Nachtisch als Entschädigung anzubieten, was ich gerne annahm und bestellte den Kaiserschmarrn Sissi. Nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Chef (der sich allerdings gar nicht im Restaurant befand, da ich ihn gerne hätte persönlich sprechen wollen) teilte sie mir mit, dass sie nur eine kleine Preisreduktion beim Nachtisch vornehmen kann (€3,90). Hierüber wunderte ich mich sehr. Tatsächlich brachte sie uns noch 3 Schnäpse. Die gingen aufs Haus. Beim Zahlen (€102€ für 3 Hauptgerichte, 1x Nachtisch und Getränke) wurde ich aufs "Trinkgeld" geben aufmerksam gemacht, was ich verneinte. Nach kurzer Zeit kam die Servicekraft erneut an meinen Tisch und tat Ihren Ärger kund, dass sie für den Mindestlohn nicht arbeiten kann und auf Trinkgeld angewiesen sei. Ich teilte ihr mit, dass ich gerne Trinkgeld gebe für einen gelungenen Abend, der sowohl aus Ambiente, Service und Kulinarik besteht, die ich nicht voneinander trenne. Leider musste ich hier unnötig diskutieren, was das Wohlbefinden weiter schmälerte. Der Nachbartisch war auch verwundert und sagte, dass sie sich nun fast genötigt fühlten, Trinkgeld geben zu müssen. Sehr schade!

Great Experience at Edelweiss! My wife and I enjoyed our dinner tonight at Edelweiss immensely. The relaxed, perfectly understated professional service from Andy was so enjoyable. He encouraged us to taste all the wines before choosing, then made excellent recommendations off the Daily Sheet and Regular Menu. All through our meal there was unintrusive availability and enjoyable conversation. It’s exactly the kind of place you want to go to dinner when you go out. Both the veal broth soup and the veal schnitzel + asparagus special were outstanding. The on-the-house hazelnut schnapps was a tasty finisher in lieu of dessert. If were were locals it would be a regular spot. Highly recommended and well worth the short walk across the river from old town.

My goodness, what a meal! The salt burger, the Wiener schnitzel... But the absolute dream was the Kaiserschmarrn!!! It seems unlikely that there is a better Kaiserschmarrn outside of Austria... There was also delicious Allgäuer Büble and you don't need to know much more. Go and be happy!

Today we spontaneously went to Edelweiss Essen because we had an appointment around the corner. The restaurant opens at 12, we arrived around 12:30, it was already packed. We just got the last table without a reservation. I haven't had such attentive and friendly service in a long time and the food was also great. Freshly cooked and homemade, even any special requests were catered for without any problems. We had a clear broth with egg custard (very tasty), schnitzel (baked really well, nice bubbles from the breading) and the fish from the lunch table (also nice and lightly breaded with a delicious mustard sauce and a bit of lamb's lettuce and homemade potato porridge) at the end Cappuccino, espresso and a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a pear crumble cake that was so delicious, just like grandma's, freshly baked, the crumbles were still crunchy. We were completely satisfied, we had nothing to complain about. Big praise, we'll definitely be back. Oh well and the price/performance ratio is absolutely fine, I've already paid more and eaten worse...

I really liked came with come colleges and the food was top notch had snitzel for a main and gulash first with pancakes at the end. Along with loads of beer all top notch. Also just before we left we saw mice running around and it turns out Frankfurt is known for them because the city was built ontop of the old city so in older building mice can come up from the old city
