Delicious food, especially the specialties, recommended

Poukhoun is one of the best restaurants I have eaten at. You can tell that only fresh ingredients are used and that the meat used is of higher quality than you are used to in Asian restaurants. The service is particularly commendable. To be honest, I have never experienced such friendly service. The service was always there when we needed it and regularly inquired about our well-being. Every dish served was briefly explained to us, which I found particularly great because I'm not familiar with Laotian food. You feel like you're having dinner with friends. Someone also did a good job planning the ambience. Even if you don't expect it from the outside of the building, the restaurant is relatively spacious and even has an inner courtyard terrace. The restaurant is very well maintained and clean. The tables are set wide enough to ensure privacy and give you enough space for yourself. All in all, the restaurant is a MUST for any Southeast Asian cuisine lover!

Very tasty Vietnamese food in a pleasant atmosphere

Very friendly staff who serve very tasty food. We had the starter platter, and the mock and duck dishes. Everything excellent. The only downside is the acoustics, you can hear everything from the next table and it's a bit echoey.

After vacationing in Laos and Thailand, I tried various places in Düsseldorf. In my opinion, Mekong is the most authentic restaurant in Düsseldorf. The owners are super friendly, the ambiance is really nice, and the prices are absolutely reasonable. I've paid more at some Thai takeaways. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the food wasn't really good. Spring rolls had a strange taste and the peanut sauce was not edible.
