Luang Prabang Restaurant in Düsseldorf

The spring rolls were really crispy on the outside and tasted fantastic even without sauce. The little sausages are hearty and spicy, and together with the sticky rice, they're a perfect combination. The cocktails are also incredibly delicious! I especially recommend the tom yum soup – pleasantly sour and spicy, truly authentic. But be careful: you should only order the "very spicy" version if you can handle extremely spicy food – I was almost ready to burst into tears. 😅

I ordered rennet with beef and pho. Food: + I'd never had rennet before. It was very tasty and quite spicy (you can choose different spice levels). - The pho wasn't convincing. While the soup was well-seasoned, the beef was a bit too tough for me. Location: + I liked the ambiance. Service: + Very attentive, friendly, and had a relaxed vibe.

Very friendly people. I chose the national dish (lab), which I know very well from Thailand and from German Thai snack bars. It tasted okay, but no better than the Thai restaurant. The price was also a bit too high; the same thing at the Thai snack bar costs half as much. However, this is a proper restaurant. Next time, I'd try something different.

Fantastic Laotian food, rich, flavorful, and suuuper spicy! If you love heat, this is for you. Every dish we ordered was delicious. Be warned: they don’t hold back on the chili, so it’s perfect for spice lovers. The friendly staff made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Southeast Asian flavors

I happened to be nearby and stopped here thanks to Maps. I have to say, the food here was a very pleasant surprise. After numerous disappointments in the Frankfurt area at similarly highly rated Thai restaurants, I'm naturally growing skeptical, but this was the most authentic and best meal I've had in a very long time - thank you for this culinary highlight 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 If it weren't so many kilometers between us, I would definitely be a regular here.

Very, very tasty, and everything is explained in detail if you have any questions or aren't sure what to order :) The drink was my particular highlight at the end! It was like a cross between a drink and a sorbet dessert – perfect for this heat 😁👌🏻

Great atmosphere, very tasty food and a really nice waiter, we can only recommend it. You should reserve a table early, on a Saturday evening all tables were well occupied.

Reservations recommended. Great Cocktails reasonably priced. A good variety of Laotian specialties as well as traditional Asian/Thai style dishes where you can select Vegetarian/Tofu or Non-veg Chicken, Pork, Beef or Seafood. You can also select how Chilly Spicy 🌶️ you wish it be prepared. My suggestion is that only the Bravehearted should attempt 3🌶️or more.

We took several dishes whose names I don't even remember, they were all delicious, including beef, shrimp and duck. Fantastic seafood soup, very polite and helpful staff with great English. Reservation required. There is seriously nowhere to sit between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. I highly recommend it.

Very loud in the dining room, children were jumping over tables and benches, the parents were obviously having fun with it. The squid was rubbery and hard to bite. The service was above average.

The food here is simply fantastic and incredibly authentic! I was particularly impressed by how intense and tasty the ingredients are - especially the fresh herbs and spices. It's really a treat. However, I have two small criticisms: The price-performance ratio is generally okay, but I would like the portions - especially the rice and the main course - to be a little bit larger. Then it would be perfect for getting full, which is important to me when visiting a restaurant. After all, you don't just go out for a quick snack.

On a weekday (Tuesday) the restaurant was so full that there was actually no room for us, so we came to eat there on spec. Even though there were no more tables available, we were still able to eat at the bar. The service was very friendly and clearly used to having tourists in the shop. It is also clearly indicated that reservations are necessary. A visitor who entered the restaurant after us managed to get a table. It's nice that you can indicate when ordering whether and how spicy you want the food. Our choice tasted a bit like Thai. And there are plenty of vegetarian options.

Delicious food and affordable prices

The food was super fresh and delicious, although the curry was unfortunately rather too watery. But the dessert was A1. The sausages were great and the papaya salad was fresh, but I felt it was missing a certain kick. Unfortunately, if you sit in the front it is very loud and cold at this time of year. But the staff was super nice and tried hard.

Last time I went to the other Laotian in Düsseldorf because everything here was already fully booked. And then I first learned to appreciate the quality, freshness and friendliness in this delightful restaurant. - This is the only place to go!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Luang Prabang in Düsseldorf and I have to say it was an excellent experience! The food was exceptionally tasty, and the friendly staff made the visit even more enjoyable. I can particularly recommend the traditional dishes such as Mock and Ork.

After the wine tasting with the nature boys, we were there with 6 people. Were the first guests and it was GREAT. Food very tasty and great service. Always my pleasure.

I have to say that we had high expectations based on the reviews of this restaurant. We were the first guests of the day, but while the other guests had already gotten their main course, we were still waiting for the starter with our drinks. And we had a small child with us. After an hour of waiting, the child became very impatient and said that he was no longer hungry because of all the waiting. I actually only wanted to give one star, but such reviews will probably be deleted, so I'd rather give three stars. Aside from the long wait, the food wasn't good either, so my friends and I decided this was our first and last visit to this restaurant.

Family-run restaurant serving traditional Lao dishes. Nice and attentive service, questions about the food were nicely explained. The cocktails were really tasty, the food was fresh and the portions were large. I found the mixed starters particularly tasty.

My favorite Laotian in Düsseldorf. Have been here over 5 times. Always nice service, always great food. Be sure to try papaya salad. A dream. Also the mango sticky rice as dessert. Great because it's not too sweet like some Thai ones. Another positive thing to note is that you can adjust the sharpness individually. So everyone gets their money’s worth!

An important tip: It is strongly advisable to reserve a table in advance as the restaurant is often busy. However, this is just a testament to its popularity and excellent reputation in the area. Overall, I can fully recommend the Luang Prabang Restaurant. The delicious dishes, great value for money and friendly service make it a real gem in the Düsseldorf restaurant scene. The food is a treat for the palate. A wonderful place. The staff is very nice and helpful.

Wir waren hier letztes Jahr. Die Servicekräfte waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Nettes Interieur. Habe gefragt, wie scharf das Gericht ist und darum gebeten, es nur leicht scharf zu machen (esse normalerweise jedoch sehr scharf, z.B. pure Thai Chilis). Leider war das Gericht aufgrund der Schärfe nicht genießbar und ich habe es zurückgehen lassen. Zu zweit haben wir mit Vorspeisen, Hauptspeisen und Getränke etwas über 40€ bezahlt, was komplett in Ordnung für die Qualität des Essens ist. Kartenzahlung möglich, inkl. Kreditkarte.

Was soll ich sagen, einfach sensationell lecker. Könnte ich mir wirklich jeden Tag geben, das Essen. Dazu sind die Leute dort super freundlich. Grade das Laab wie die Einheimischen mit der Hand zu essen macht das Ganze irgendwie noch leckerer. :-)

There were 4 of us there in the early evening. We were warmly welcomed and the service was consistently friendly, professional and attentive. About the food: We had 2 curry dishes and 2 traditional Laotian dishes (rennet), which were consistently fresh and very tasty. I especially liked the spices and the authenticity. You can also freely choose the level of spiciness, which of course I liked as a spicy eater. The mango coconut milk sticky rice dessert was also great. The cocktails were also great. Price performance was appropriate. The only small negative point is the somewhat old, not so nice sanitary facilities, although they were very clean. We'll definitely be back :).

Laotian food as it should be, especially the rennet tastes very authentic. You can also just come to drink, the cocktail menu is by far the best in Flingern. Unfortunately, the restaurant is right on the B8, which makes sitting outside not quite as comfortable in the summer. And the prices aren't very Lao either :')

I have never eaten better Laotian outside of Laos. The Laab tastes very authentic. The levels of spiciness are also adapted to the Lao/Thai taste, if you order spicy, you get spicy. (But you are warned in advance and you can of course order everything mild). It's great that there are so many vegan options. The team is incredibly friendly and helpful. We would be happy to come back next time we visit Düsseldorf.

Wir waren länger nicht mehr dort, irgendwie nicht geschafft, wenn auch nur 20 Minuten mit der Bahn entfernt. Heute haben wir einen Tisch reserviert für uns zwei… was soll ich sagen? Perfekt wie immer, sehr freundliches Team, im Restaurant war viel los und sie sind nicht aus der Ruhe gekommen. Erstmal zwei Mai Tai Spezial bestellt! Top. Der Cocktail kostet 11,50… jeden Cent wert!!! Als Vorspeise haben wir uns die Frühlingsrollen geteilt. Für 5,90… frisch gemacht… Super… als Hauptspeise die H9 mit Ente und Schärfegrad 2, die H10 mit Ente schärfegrad 3… alles perfekt! Kommen immer wieder gerne hier hin. Vielen Dark an das tolle Team! Haben uns, wie immer, sehr wohl gefühlt ❤️

For me the best Laotian to date. Super delicious food, the service is extremely friendly and if you are really interested in the country of Laos, the owner will be happy to sit down for a chat with you - and has a feeling for whether chatting is right or not. The restaurant is a bit small, but it doesn't bother me at all. You can eat really spicy food here, which I absolutely love, and every Laotian dish is a flavor explosion in itself. If you go here and want to eat spring rolls and baked chicken, you should honestly go to a cheap all-you-can-eat shop, because in this case they are not interested in authentic Laotian food in the first place and are showing a lack of style! Tip: all salads, the stuffed octopus or the Laotian sausage as a starter and the wonderful larb as a main course - eaten with your hands and sticky rice feels twice as tasty. Upon request, you will also be shown how it is really eaten in Laos. Been going there for ages and will continue to do so. To make all the Laotians here grin: this restaurant beats every Thai in the city! ;-)

Lecker, die Karte ist vielseitig, unterschiedliche Geschmäcker werden hier problemlos fündig, man kann den Schärfegrad selbst wählen, das Team ist sehr freundlich, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Tipp: bei den laotischen Spezialitäten nicht zögern, sondern einfach probieren! Alles ist sehr gut :)

Achhhh. Das Luang Prabang. Ich habe tatsächlich einige Jahre direkt darüber gewohnt. Insofern kenne ich es seit der 1. Stunde. Und es war immer gut, auch wenn ich es zuletzt vernachlässigt habe. Mega Essen, nette Location und tolles Team. Was will ich mehr. Mit viel Verspätung also endlich mal eine Bewertung. Und der Hinweis: achtet auf die Schärfegrade. Die sind nämlich ernst gemeint. Und so soll es sein. Tolles Essen und tolle Drinks. Fantastisch. Und preislich im Rahmen. Insofern alles gut.

Das erste Mal laotisch gegessen. Auf Empfehlung des Inhabers. Super Service super Beratung. Personal außerordentlich zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Sogar eine Lesebrille wurde zur Verfügung gestellt. Ambiente hübsch. Preis Leistung Topp. Immer wieder gerne. Empfehlenswert.

Tolles Restaurant mit laotischem Essen und guten Cocktails. Jeder wählt selbst wie scharf es sein darf und ob er vegan oder mit Fisch oder Fleisch kombinieren möchte. Man wird aber auch gut bei der Auswahl beraten, inklusive der Schärfe. Hier kann man einen schönen Abend verbringen. Wer mit dem Auto kommt sollte wissen dass die Parksituation in Flingern angespannt ist. Das Restaurant ist auch gut mit dem ÖPNV zu erreichen, so kann man die Cocktails oder das Alt entspannt genießen.
