We ate chicken there, really crispy and delicious, juicy meat. The fries were also crispy and the salad was also good. The Flädlesuppe beforehand was also very tasty. I would only like to express some criticism about the dessert; in my opinion, the sour cherries with vanilla ice cream were average at best. The service was very friendly, accommodating and chatty. Overall, this is 5 stars for me and a clear recommendation for anyone who wants to dine in a cozy location at a reasonable price.

Es ist genau das was man erwartet. Gute kompakte Karte mit üblichen Preisen. Es schmeckt einfach gut, Schnitzel wird frisch geklopft. Habe den Zwiebelrostbraten gegessen, sehr lecker innen schön rosa. Abgerundet wird das ganze von einem urigem Ambiente und einem sehr netten Service.

We celebrated my husband's birthday there based on a recommendation from friends. Had a champagne reception, dinner at the buffet and then dessert. Ms. Wahl had decorated the tables beautifully so that I didn't have to worry about anything. Food with meat, side dishes and salads were all delicious. Ms. Wahl responded to our wishes. Everything was super perfect. Thank you Wahl family. It was a really nice birthday. We will definitely recommend you.

I'm excited to go there because of other reviews. Unfortunately it took me several attempts because it was closed even during the opening times mentioned on the website. This was found out through a note on the door. As a starter, the Maultaschen soup was delicious, as expected. I used a sauce with the schnitzel. Unfortunately, the schnitzel and fries were too salty and not consistent everywhere. I didn't notice it straight away because of the sauce. Shame about the food. As I learned, I wasn't the only one who had a chef in love. There was no drink on the house or discount, even though I couldn't finish the last third. It was also a shame that there was no lighting outside and you were always sitting in the dark. I believe that this traditional cuisine must be preserved, as in Ellwangen in particular you can mainly find foreign offerings. Unfortunately the relationship is no longer correct. That's why I hope even more that yesterday was just a breakdown that could have been handled differently. However, the staff served very friendly and nice.

The food is always great, the salad is seasonal and the chef often comes up with an meal a la chef that you would otherwise have to look for in the catering industry! The food was great! Real Swabian cuisine. Unfortunately, the outside area is getting old and needs to be renovated, otherwise very nice and cozy.
