From the Weissensee car park it is only around 250 meters across the street to the Steigmühlenstube restaurant. The kitchen offers a good selection of regional dishes, all of which are quite tasty. There is also a landlady who is really nice and friendly, and the prices for food and drink are absolutely reasonable.
Schnitzel was delicious, nicely breaded and well seasoned. The large salad could do with a little more choice 😉 Only... why does a change to the side dish, for example: fries to fried potatoes, both of which are on the menu, cost an extra €2.40?
Idyllic location right on the marsh, with a beautiful, large terrace and bright, inviting interiors.
Home-style cooking is delicious, and special requests are easily accommodated.
The staff is very friendly and attentive.
Went here for New Year's brunch (buffet). The food was delicious, you could order soup in advance, the service was good and the price was completely ok
Always tasty, always nice and courteous service that also responds to special requests.
Ambience typical of a student city.
I always enjoy coming to the 'Herzog'
There were two of us there. It wasn't busy so we couldn't complain about a lack of attention or service. The landlady was very nice. The restaurant is quaint and the food was excellent. Only the price was quite high. Nevertheless, we would go there again.
We had the hollandaise sauce and the Heimbacher schnitzel, both very tasty and with generous portions. Also worth mentioning is the remarkably good side salad, with pieces of red, green, and yellow bell peppers, corn, carrots, kidney beans, red cabbage, beetroot, white cabbage, etc. If you don't try it, you're missing out. The service is very friendly and attentive. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely come back.
