Nice atmosphere, nice people, and great pizza
It also happened really quickly
Addendum (2025): I was here again after about a year, it remains simply great in terms of taste and value for money. Nothing to complain about and only recommended!
Great place to eat. The staff was friendly and helpful with ordering. They even helped me with my own mistake—I had miscalculated the time. And so the burger was quickly packed for me—great service. Even after I sat down, my drink and side dishes were served quickly.
When entering the store, the windows at the front and back were already open. It was 2 degrees outside and after a while the owner came up with the idea of opening the door to the shop while we were already sitting there with our jackets.
It would make sense to set up a fan or something similar in the area where the food is being fried instead of creating a draft for customers.
Furthermore, in such an atmosphere I would have expected a “Du” as a form of address. Even if the greeting was very polite.
The fries were nice and crispy.
Purely by chance, during a conversation in our neighborhood, I heard how Chigogi came 4th in the Germany-wide Uber Eats competition in the summer of 2024.
So I thought I would give this a try. I'll tell you straight up, this was the best Asian restaurant I've ever dined in!
Everything just fell into place. From the ambience, to the courteous staff, to the delicious food for a small thaler.
Clear recommendation, I will come back (P.S Order the Don Kassou - a dream 💭)
Nice restaurant with food that's too expensive for what's on offer. Unfortunately/fortunately, there are better options in Magdeburg.
No card payments accepted.
When I ordered only one drink to share, my wife was asked again if she really didn't want her own drink. Absolutely unacceptable. As if we hadn't discussed this beforehand?
Very clean toilet, very clean kitchen (I was allowed to look in 🤭), the new management is very friendly and the food (crispy duck with rice, vegetables and curry sauce) was super tasty 😋 (but of course it's a matter of taste 🤭)
Usually most people go to Torii for the variety of sushi 🍣 dishes, but I don't like sushi 🍣 🤭
The Torii can be easily reached by public transport (Neue Straße /?)
Cozy shop. You sit there with a freshly tapped meal... every now and then a tram rattles past... I had Magdeburg spiced meat as a starter and pasta Jägerschnitzel "typical Ossi" as my main course... I've never had such a thick Jägerschnitzel... for me that would be it became 2. But very tasty. However, I prefer the dish with Spirelli pasta. A nice evening.
The food was really tasty – the dishes tasted great and were freshly prepared. Unfortunately, the positive impression was marred by the very disorganized service and the inadequate side dishes.
Rice and bread, which were supposed to be accompaniments to the main course (some of them had different dishes, but rice and bread were always part of the dishes), were served in small quantities for the entire table - just a piece of bread per person and a bit of rice. When we then asked for a second helping, we had to ask a total of four times because different waiters were always in charge and there was obviously no communication between them.
The wait for the food was also way too long, which made the whole experience even worse. It's a shame that the service detracted so much from the good impression of the food.
Conclusion: The food was excellent, but the service and organization leave a lot to be desired. I hope this improves because then it could be a really great experience.
⭐️⭐️☆☆☆
My wife and I spontaneously decided to have a Greek meal here and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Unfortunately, the food was not convincing for us - the taste was far behind what we are used to from other Greek restaurants. We only ate about 20% of the food.
When we politely expressed criticism and asked for the bill, the boss first wanted to know what we didn't like and why. But as soon as I specifically expressed my criticism, it was completely devalued and not taken seriously. Instead of dealing with our criticism constructively, he assumed that we were only doing this to get a discount - which is absolutely not the case. His behavior clearly showed that he is not open to criticism at all.
Instead of reacting professionally, the boss even asked us to leave the restaurant. An absolute no-go for us! Criticism should be accepted and taken seriously, even if tastes differ of course. Unfortunately, dealing with us only made the impression worse. Service and communication were also below average. Of course we paid the bill in full, but I hope you consider how you deal with criticism in the future.
Overall a very disappointing experience. I absolutely cannot understand the positive reviews here. It's a shame, but definitely not recommended.
