We had a wonderful birthday party there, with delicious food. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.

We ate there with our family yesterday. The price/performance ratio was excellent. The food was excellent and plentiful. The Maharaja Palace is highly recommended. We'd be happy to come back. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We went there for dinner and had an amazing experience. The thing about India is hospitality, and that is what we received here. The woman there in charge was the sweetest person I have met in Magdeburg. Great food, a hotel-like sitting arrangement like we get in India and the food felt like home.

This was my 2nd visit here and the food didn’t disappoint again, I tried vegetarian food this time and It was absolutely amazing. We had Paneer Pakora, Dal Makhani and Paneer Sabji. The Gravy was very tangy and Dal Makhani was of perfect spice. The quantity is also more than adequate you get not only rice but also a Naan with the order. I was only able to eat it all because how tasty actually the food was. Simply my favourite Indian Restaurant in Magdeburg.

I went to the restaurant today and had something to eat there. The welcome was very warm; you immediately feel at home. The food was truly delicious, and the bread was simply delicious. I'll definitely be back!

I highly recommend sitting inside. The food was excellent and the service was unobtrusive and pleasantly friendly. Please visit this restaurant once and form your own opinion, but in my opinion, it's a top restaurant for a pleasant and enjoyable evening. Both the main course I had were very good if you like to try several different options.

The food is good, but the service is poor. The service outside isn't great; you're left high and dry. After sitting for a long time, you have to go inside and pay the bill. 👎🏻 It's a shame.

A truly lovely Indian restaurant. My wife and I went there for dinner yesterday, and we each ordered a main course and a drink. The portions were generous, as you can see in the pictures. We also got delicious naan bread and a salad as a starter, which is obviously part of the main course! The ambiance is also beautiful, and the individual seating is arranged in such a way that you have plenty of privacy, which is very important to us. All in all, a fantastic restaurant; I can recommend it without hesitation.

This was the 1st time I have visited this place. The staff warmly welcomed us and they were friendly. The atmosphere was calm. The food was actually delicious. I would recommend this place!!

This review really hurts me. We've been loyal customers of the Maharajah since it opened. We were on Halberstädter Straße and "moved" to Klausener Straße. What we've noticed the last few times (before the water damage) is that nothing works in the restaurant when the older woman (boss?) isn't there. With her, everything is perfect. She's super sweet and dedicated. Without her, the young waiters seem unmotivated, misunderstand orders, or forget them. The food was still consistently delicious and of high quality. Only the mango lassi became increasingly expensive, smaller, and waterier. Yesterday we were at the new location. What immediately strikes you if you have mobility issues are the steps. A deal breaker for my mom and me. We were shown to our table and served quickly. Our waitress was very friendly, but she couldn't answer questions about the menu/food/drinks. In the old restaurant, it was pleasant that the music played quietly in the background. Yesterday it was so loud that quiet conversation was almost impossible. I order the 88 (cauliflower) 90% of the time. We skipped the beloved mango lassi; €5.50 for 0.25l is outrageous. Last week, in the middle of Berlin, the most expensive one was €4.50, and that was 0.45l. When my Alu Gobi arrived, I was surprised by the color. More gray. It tasted okay, but not like usual. Everything was swimming in oil. Even my mom's, who had spinach with cheese balls, had it. The receipt came promptly. Since yesterday, we've been suffering from stomach aches and frequent trips to the bathroom. We've never had that in all these years. Then the bill came, which surprised us: €7 for a 0.4l apple juice spritzer. When we asked, we were told that was the way it was. €3.50 for 0.2l apple juice and €3.50 for 0.2l water. The lunch prices aren't as good anymore either. Every main course is 50% off, plus €3. Because of this, and the consequences of the food, the restaurant is now unfortunately dead for us. It's a real shame. We really enjoyed going there.

This is the only Indian restaurant in Magdeburg which serves food that actually matches an Indian spice palate. The owner/ host there (forgot to ask her name) was so sweet and welcoming omg! We ordered non veg thali and asked to make it spicy like we do whenever we go to any Indian restaurants in Germany, but this is the only restaurant which actually made the food as spicy as expected! Last but not the least, we ordered a black and white ice cream which came with a firecracker sort of a thing which was like a cherry on the top, and caught everyone’s eye. Sweet gesture! 100 percent recommended 💯

Authentic Indian food, nice ambience and a very friendly service.

I requested catering for multiple events. The owners were very nice and prepared authentic Indian food for my guests each time.

We immediately felt at home in the restaurant. The ambience is great, the service is very friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. There was a notice on the door of the restaurant stating that the food was not heavily seasoned. In my opinion, the typical slight sharpness was missing. But that is purely a matter of taste and perception. I'll definitely be back!

The food was really tasty – the dishes tasted great and were freshly prepared. Unfortunately, the positive impression was marred by the very disorganized service and the inadequate side dishes. Rice and bread, which were supposed to be accompaniments to the main course (some of them had different dishes, but rice and bread were always part of the dishes), were served in small quantities for the entire table - just a piece of bread per person and a bit of rice. When we then asked for a second helping, we had to ask a total of four times because different waiters were always in charge and there was obviously no communication between them. The wait for the food was also way too long, which made the whole experience even worse. It's a shame that the service detracted so much from the good impression of the food. Conclusion: The food was excellent, but the service and organization leave a lot to be desired. I hope this improves because then it could be a really great experience.

We ate naan, butter chicken, chicken pakoda, and chicken tikka. Everything was delicious! The restaurant had a great atmosphere, like being in India. The service was friendly and we even got a free mango vodka! We've tried other Indian restaurants, but this one was the best. Highly recommended!

We haven't eaten at Maharaja since moving to the new restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. A little smaller than before but still comfortably furnished with a typical Indian flair. We had pre-booked a table for 5 people and spontaneously brought one more person with us, that wasn't a problem. We tasted the different dishes among ourselves and they were all very tasty. Only in my coconut-pineapple chicken the meat was a little too firm for my taste and it was seasoned too lightly. The mango lassi was very good. We'd love to come back.

Extremely unfriendly! We reserved a table as requested and said in the comment that we were bringing a dog. Received several emails from the owner to confirm. When we arrived we were refused entry at the door with the statement that dogs were not allowed and that we could sit outside! Side note: No one sat outside because it was cold and uncomfortable. Went straight back! If I could give zero points, I would!

The service was very friendly but unfortunately made us wait quite a long time towards the end. The food tasted very good, the portions were reasonable, but the chicken was dry and the side dishes were very limited. I would like to give 3.5 out of 5 stars but unfortunately that is not possible ^^ But worth a visit in itself.

This was the best Indian food in a long time😀 Although we came a little late and wanted to make it for the afternoon, the boss welcomed us warmly and told us that we were welcome to eat. And it was fantastic! We'll be back😀 The boss wears traditional clothes, wonderful😀

The best Indian food I have eaten in Magdeburg so far.

We were there for dinner as part of a large birthday party. It was a Saturday evening and not overly busy. As always, the food was very good, sufficient and tasty. The service was friendly, but not very attentive. Often sat without a drink. However, the espresso was a complete disaster. Very thin and tasted like lukewarm water with a bit of coffee flavor.

The food was awesome and service was very nice. We liked starter and traditional India food. We are vegetarian and they really recommended and adjusted as per our taste. Must recommended

Saturday evening, without a reservation... we were lucky and just managed to get the table at the entrance at 6:15 p.m. After that, only those who had reserved. Food is typically Indian. It tastes typically Indian, so it's what you expect. We can recommend. Overall, we found the service in the restaurant to be a bit careless/overwhelmed?... But it could also have been due to Saturday evening stress.

We were there for the first time. And were very happy with the food

Indian style meals are available. It's not as spicy as ours. It seems that everything is buttered.. The prices are a bit high. However, you can definitely visit when you want to have an Indian style meal.

We were there for the lunch special - all main courses were half price. Not a bad offer. However, we asked whether it would be possible to prepare a starter dish for 5 people and in the end they simply charged the price of 5 starters, even though the quantity was not proportionate...that was a bit stupid without mentioning it beforehand (almost 50 euros for a plate with a few onion rings and potato pieces). Then the drinks were forgotten several times and it was only pointed out when paying that the card reader had failed. Everything could have been done better.

We ordered the food over the phone. Unfortunately the good man on the phone wasn't able to write down all the dishes correctly, even though they were just numbers and we asked everything twice to check. It was still one meal too many. If you offer a service like this you should be able to understand everything clearly over the phone. This way you avoid misunderstandings. But the food is very tasty 😋

Das Essen war super lecker und es gibt ein sehr vielseitiges Angebot. Nach der Bestellung hat man nicht lange auf sein Essen gewartet. Die Kellner waren sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Ich habe mich dort sehr wohl gefühlt, da wir auch an einem runden Tisch gemeinsam alle saßen und jeder sich gut mit jedem unterhalten konnte. Das Restaurant würde ich nur weiterempfehlen.

Wie immer lecker und alles hat gepasst! Leider gibt es bei uns in Helmstedt keine vergleichbare Location... Daher verbinden wir Shopping in MD meist mit diesem Restaurant. Sehr zu empfehlen!!! LG Torsten
