July 21, 2019, 6:15 p.m., 2 adults & 1 child our premiere
After waiting a long time for service, we got the menu ourselves from another table. After taking our order, we looked around a bit, the appearance of the "service staff" wasn't anything special (it gave the impression that they had come out of the swimming pool on their bikes a few minutes ago)! One stood in front of another table with her mouth full and served the food in such a way that the guests were shaking their heads!
Like at some other tables, some of us were served the wrong food.
The food itself is boring or not seasoned, the schnitzel from the deep fryer, the "dressing" poured over the loveless salad, the best thing was the fried egg, it was perfectly fried (no bubbles, no brown edges).
When we were clearing away we weren't even asked how/if it tasted.
Every now and then an older man was busy serving and clearing up, he seemed more competent than everyone else, it turned out that he was the boss.
The drinks were poured and then served in a small garden shed, with a cleaning agent bottle visible to everyone between the spirits bottles. The garden itself is not particularly well maintained, there were cut branches lying in front of a bush, old wooden slats leaning against the house next to an empty smart drum, empty blackboards and a few other things.
When paying we mentioned our first impression, to our surprise the waitress agreed with us!!!
Obviously we had a bad day, otherwise I can't explain the positive reviews here on Google!
Update: August 25, 2021
We tried again, this time everything was ok. Different staff, a real asset for the restaurant
The “Abthof” restaurant in Mühlheim’s old town has reopened under new management.
The restaurant with its cozy atmosphere serves German dishes.
We were impressed by the excellent quality of the food, which was freshly prepared and very tasty.
The service staff were extremely friendly and attentive.
The beautiful beer garden invites you to linger and enjoy in the warmer season...it is reminiscent of the flair of Tuscany.
We will come back, it is wonderful to have a beautiful location in Mühlheim again.
The order came 10 minutes ago. I ordered pasta for 60 euros, everything was like a soup without ham or mushrooms. I ordered without getting a receipt. I called there, but no one answered. I'm coming. I'll go there in person tomorrow.
I have already reported on the New Year's Eve menu. We were there again and really enjoyed it. EVERYTHING fits!
The food is SUPER DELICIOUS, the service and the whole atmosphere are GREAT.
Thank you very much, we'll be back!!!
Today we had a great New Year's Eve menu. The service is very friendly.
Today is New Year's Eve again. The food, service and ambience is still wonderful.
It is highly recommended!
I can only say thank you.
Out of necessity 1 star because otherwise no review is possible!
Ordered today. The order was supposed to arrive within 60 minutes, after 1 1/2 hours we were told on the phone that the order would now be packed and delivered. After another 25 minutes without delivery and further lies, we were told that they felt overwhelmed with the orders. After another 10 minutes the food finally arrived!
No problem, just let me know and don't lie!
As a small compensation, €10 was credited back to us.
Unfortunately, in retrospect, that was far too little!
Order was totally cold, pizza wasn't baked through, let alone had the right ingredients on it!
This was definitely the last order for us!
So the staff is so unfriendly, the cola was stale and contained women's hair. The women's toilet was smeared. In addition, the waiter wiped the toilet without gloves.
Often order here for pickup. The food was always delicious and, due to the proximity to the restaurant, it was on our table very quickly. Clear recommendation.
The trip from Mannheim on All Saints Day to Mülheim was free. According to the internet, the store was open. A sign could be seen on site. We are on vacation from October 14th. Not exactly professional. You can publish it on the internet.
Tried to call yesterday but no one is answering, regular customers there are really very strange at the moment, please answer why no one is answering the phone.
McDonald’s Mühlheim am Main – A culinary tragicomedy in three acts
There are places where you go full of anticipation, with high expectations, hungry stomachs and the firm belief that you will at least get warm food and a minimum of friendliness. And then there is McDonald’s Mühlheim am Main.
Act 1: The Grand Illusion
As soon as I entered the branch, I felt that there was a special kind of gastronomy philosophy here. One that is based on resignation, indifference and a certain artistic freedom when putting together burgers.
“One menu with fries, please.”
“Hmmh.” – These noises can probably be interpreted as agreement. A nod would probably be too much service.
I was excited. Would my burger look like the picture? Of course not.
Act 2: The tragic moment of revelation
I take my tray, sit down, unpack - and look at the misery.
• The fries? Cold. Colder than a greeting card from the tax office.
• The burger? Put together with the precision of a bored roofer putting the last board in place at 4:58 p.m.
• The sauce? Not in the burger, but generously distributed on the packaging, as if it had been the victim of a small earthquake.
• The cheese? A tiny, pale yellow cloth of despair that doesn't even bother to melt.
I take a look into the kitchen. The employees don't seem stressed, just annoyed by the existence itself. They put together burgers with the devotion of a tired bureaucrat putting his 482nd stamp on a document.
Act 3: The Search for Warmth (and a Smile)
I dare you. I ask for fresh fries.
The employee looks at me with the expression of a man who has seen too many customers in his career. “They’re fresh.”
I look skeptically at the lukewarm potato sticks, which don't even pretend to be hot.
“No, really, can you make me some fresh ones?”
Sigh. Eye roll. A resigned reach for a new charge. I get hot fries - they're probably a random product that accidentally ended up in this branch.
The taste? Well… at least warm.
Conclusion:
McDonald’s Mühlheim is not just a fast food restaurant. It's an experiment testing how little effort you can put in before guests notice.
• Fries? Tends to be cold.
• Citizens? Constructed with the elegance of a broken Jenga tower.
• Employees? Friendly as a fax machine.
Stars: 2/5 – One point for the warm fries after protest, one point for the entertainment.
