We'll be back!!
We managed to stop by here. The waiting time was certainly a bit long, an hour, but it was worth it. The schnitzel was super soft and tasted delicious.
Price-wise, completely ok. Where else can you get wheat for less than €5?
As I said, if you have some time, you're in good hands here!!
Addendum 05/16/25, 8:00 PM:
Unfortunately, I have to write a new post because the quality at Deli Dojo has declined significantly. Some of the restrooms are dirty and aren't cleaned regularly. The floor and walls are broken and cracked/peeling. I had such bad stomach pain and stomach cramps after the Katsu Nest that evening that there must have been something wrong with the food. These stomach cramps weren't the first time; they've occurred several times after eating there.
We also had an accident while eating, and the red wine glass tipped over. Absolutely no one from the staff helped. They just stood around and stared as we wiped the red wine off the table. They didn't bring new tissues, nor did they even offer to help and wipe it up properly with a wet wipe. Furthermore, we weren't even offered a new red wine (the glass was actually still completely full before it tipped over), and we had to pay for it in full, even though we didn't have any of the red wine. Truly horrible service that doesn't help but just waits around.
So, I unfortunately have to retract my old post and remove Deli Dojo from my "must-do" list of restaurants in Idstein.
Old post:
Deli Dojo is simply fantastic and stands out from the usual restaurants in Idstein. It combines a great atmosphere, very friendly staff, and delicious Japanese food. Since opening, things have run like clockwork here, and I've never had to complain.
The prices are around €20-30 per person with a drink and main course, but they're totally justified for the portion sizes. From the starter soup to the rice or noodle main course or the sushi...it simply tastes absolutely delicious every time.
Over the past few years, I've explored the menu a bit, and even if you're not a sushi fan, you'll definitely find something here. Among the starter soups, I highly recommend the Misake. Among the main courses, I think the Katsu Nest, Classic Pan, Chicken in Rice, and the Monk Soup are absolutely delicious. If you eat here, you can't miss the Deli Dojo lemonade. It tastes incredibly fresh and is something different from the classic soft drinks you'd find at other restaurants. I also highly recommend the Gingerly, Mango Lassi, and Spring Liquid.
The restrooms are always clean. The only drawback is that they're accessed via a spiral staircase leading down, making them less accessible for people in wheelchairs or similar.
Since the restaurant is very busy every day, I would be very happy if they could introduce a small gift for guests (like a fortune cookie or something similar). I think some guests would appreciate something like that, and it would also contribute to customer loyalty.
All in all, I'm very satisfied with the service and the food, and I'll continue to enjoy eating here. In my opinion, it's one of the best restaurants in Idstein and definitely worth a visit.
Great service and atmosphere. This is delicious food. I recommend it and will definitely visit it again with my family. The big advantage is that the place is open until 10 p.m. Dinner with the family and an evening date are also possible.
Pizza leider unter meiner Erwartung: Teig ohne Salz, und auch die Hefe hatte keine Zeit zu gehen. Das Ergebnis war dann auch recht „knusprig-hart“. Das kann die Küche sicherlich besser.
Netter Service, gute Lage.
Service was super friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately, the burger was almost completely raw at first, so I had to send it back. It didn't taste particularly good; the bun was too hard and dry, and somewhat flavorless. The drinks were good, but for the price, I expected the basil/mint leaves to be brown; it just doesn't look appetizing.
It used to be better.
