Ich wollte mich über das Haus und das Essen informieren. Beim ersten Klick auf den Button "Spezialitäten" kam 404 Page not found. Na dann halt nicht. Oder: Heutzutage kann man sich solche Schnitzer nicht erlauben.

Ein sehr schönes altes Fachwerkhaus in ein sehr schöner Umgebung in der Nähe vom Centrum. Das Essen hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt und der Präsentation war auch schön. Die Bedienung war nicht sehr effizient aber trotzdem nett und hilfreich

Kleiner Tipp vorab: Man sollte sich vorab auf der Webseite gut informieren, wie man zum Hotel gelangt – Google Maps führt einen leider falsch, und auch die Parkmöglichkeiten sind sehr begrenzt. Wir waren zum Adventsfrühstück dort und hatten uns sehr darauf gefreut. Der Hof ist wunderschön weihnachtlich geschmückt und macht von außen wirklich viel her. Das Buffet ist eher klein, aber mit Liebe angerichtet, geschmacklich hat uns alles gut gefallen. Ein deutlicher Minuspunkt war jedoch der Service: Nachdem sich der Raum gefüllt hatte, waren die ein bis zwei Servicekräfte leider deutlich zu wenig. Bestellungen wie Eier oder heiße Getränke dauerten teilweise sehr lange oder wurden sogar vergessen. Auch die Brötchen waren leer und wurden trotz Ankündigung („in 5 Minuten werden sie aufgefüllt“) selbst nach 30 Minuten nicht nachgereicht. Die frischen Waffeln waren innerhalb von Sekunden vergriffen, da schlicht zu wenige für den Andrang vorbereitet wurden. Insgesamt ein sehr schöner Ort mit guter Küche und toller Atmosphäre – mit besserer Organisation und mehr Personal wäre hier definitiv deutlich mehr drin.

When I go out to eat or stay in a hotel, I want to feel welcome as a guest. That's not the case here.

The Höerhof, 400 years old, has been renovated with great care and attention to detail. The room was comfortable, very attractively furnished, and offered good value for money. In the beautiful historic restaurant, we received friendly and attentive service and enjoyed the exceptionally fine cuisine. We will definitely be back!

The HÖERHOF is one of those places that really is worth the stay because of the nature of the building you are staying in.. its not every day that you overnight in a building that is more than 400 years old.. We didn't go to the Resturaunt but it has rave reviews. The breakfast is lovely in a small setting but that is extra. This location is super awesome, 5 minute walk to the Aldstadt. Also make sure that if you book online through an outside vendor like Bookings.com or other that you are charged appropriately. The front desk colleague accidentally charged us full price even though we already paid. The beds are pretty stiff. There are no coffee machines in the rooms but you can ask for a kettle. Internet wifi was not reliable at all, but cell phone coverage was good on the hill.

Very picturesque hotel but what terrible management. We walked in to have a beer while visiting this beautiful Town. We ordered a couple of pilsner beers. When they brought then we noticed they were IPA additionally one of the glasses was dirty so we decided to wait for the server to explain the situation. We waited over 10 minutes (we even walked over to the reception area) and no-one ever returned so we decided to leave (we did not consume the beers). Seconds later they showed up with a terrible attitude. We explained what happened and they threatened to call the police. We returned inside and showed them the dirty glass and explained to then that we ordered a pilsner. They insisted that we pay for the beers so we paid for one of them and left.

I thought long and hard about which rating was right. Basically, the service, in particular, was not appropriate for an upscale restaurant. We had reserved a table and were assigned two interesting, but rather uncomfortable seats. It's a shame they didn't let us choose which of the free tables we wanted, as there were plenty of them. The manager's cool demeanor didn't bother me, but it didn't help us feel comfortable at all. The starter was exceptionally good—I've rarely eaten such delicious shrimp. The main course was disappointing, especially because of the veal, which was overcooked. That shouldn't happen in a restaurant like this. I didn't complain—I was hungry. The dessert was plentiful, very simple, but delicious. Whether the three-course menu is worth almost €60 is debatable. I was stuffed by the end because of the large dessert. What bothered me was the service. We were treated very poorly. The manager herself instructed me on how to use a napkin, which I found somewhat inappropriate. After we didn't want a wine list, we weren't asked about other drinks either. The manager then silently took the bread, which had just been refilled, back with her. We didn't understand that. We probably won't be visiting the Hoerhof again. The good alternatives with friendly service are too much competition. My tip for making guests feel comfortable: Be friendly and talk to people. Build rapport and don't be arrogant – that helps enormously.

A quiet hotel in a historic building with a beautiful courtyard and a great restaurant. Unfortunately, the reception was unoccupied upon our arrival, and it took several phone calls to check in. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful.

Super idyllic, very friendly service and great gastronomic awards

I've been living in Idstein for five years now and I regularly plan to finally visit the gastronomic number 1 in Idstein. Finally it happened. And it would have been a huge mistake if I hadn't finally allowed myself this incredible treat. In one of the most beautiful Renaissance courtyards in Hesse, the Höerhof offers the finest cuisine in the "dining room" with an absolutely matching, thoroughly stylish ambience. This is a perfect holistic pleasure that is offered to the guest there. Rounded off by extremely attentive and absolutely knowledgeable staff. Also and especially when it comes to the wine selection. We chose the three-course menu from the various menu variations, which was absolutely sufficient given the generous portions and was also completely sufficient to experience the great variety and quality of the chefs. After a wonderful house aperitif (both with and without alcohol) we started with tuna of the very best preparation and quality with sour cream, miso, sake and meadow herbs. Fresh (meadow) herbs in all varieties are one of the special features of this outstanding cuisine. As a starter alternative, we enjoyed the quail with parsley root, Belber bone and leek oil. Also of the very finest. Nevertheless, it was topped by the main course, the incredibly tender and perfectly cooked lamb with olives, gnocchi and again a wonderful herb topping. Finished with a really unusual, not overpoweringly sweet meringue dessert with sorrel, raspberries and spelled. Everything is of absolute top quality, which also seamlessly relates to the visual presentation of the food as a real feast for the eyes. I have rarely experienced that all taste buds were so intensely flattered as here. Almost every bite was a little taste explosion. After this preface, there is of course no longer any question that the accompanying wines were of outstanding and perfectly fitting quality, which were also presented in a wonderfully knowledgeable manner. Everything is just right at the Höerhof! This applies to the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff, the outstanding quality of the food as well as this very special ambience of both the entire Renaissance property itself and in particular this picturesque "dining room", all from 1620! It was a special occasion that we celebrated, no, celebrated, at the Höerhof. The Höerhof was exactly the right choice for this. I wouldn't be able to think of an alternative that could top this work of art. Many thanks to the Höerhof, the owner and the staff.

Ms. Kogge, the host, is a host on equal terms: personable, thoughtful, forward-looking! Ms. Kogge fully accommodated our habit (vegan-vegetarian) when making the reservation. Our 4-course menu was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was extremely relaxing. So, we'll be back!

We had booked an arrangement (overnight stay plus asparagus menu). Everything is top notch and the old town with the great half-timbered houses is right on the doorstep. Clear recommendation!

We stayed at the Höerhof in Idstein for one night. A beautiful, homely half-timbered building. Very well maintained. Super nice staff, great, quiet location - really highly recommended.

Quite a spontaneous visit to Idstein on the occasion of the Christmas market. We were able to enjoy an extraordinary dinner and were more than impressed by the presentation and explanation of the dishes, the starter, some intermediate courses as part of the 3-course menu and the dessert. The boss personally and the waitresses were friendly, courteous and competent. The advice and enjoyment of wines should also be praised here. We then spontaneously stayed overnight, visited the Christmas market again and enjoyed a prime time in Idstein. The room was very beautiful and wonderfully embedded in the historic half-timbered building. The Christmas breakfast brunch rounded off our stay very worthy. Absolute recommendation. We will come back.

We got stranded here due to a breakdown in our motorhome. We would have missed something. A beautiful hotel with excellent service. The restaurant was closed so we weren't able to enjoy the best food on site. Original sound from the workshop where our motorhome is. Thank you very much and we will definitely come back.

We had a great stay with super delicious food! The hotel is very centrally located in the old town, which can be reached on foot. Unfortunately, it's a bit more difficult to reach by car because the navigation system wanted to direct us along a footpath. Nevertheless, we had a nice stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were particularly impressed by the food: breakfast had a large selection of rolls, cold cuts and muesli. A selection of different menus is available for dinner, and individual dishes can also be ordered. We'd love to come back!

Good starting point to explore the old town on foot. The room was ok, but there was a lack of shelves in the bathroom and on the bed. A fan would be great in warm weather. Service for breakfast was very friendly, breakfast was great.

Great restaurant, absolutely recommended

Nice rustic hotel in historic buildings. The rooms are very individual but spacious and modern. The breakfast was excellent. The small disadvantage, however, is the route to the hotel. Finding the right route by car took a while, as the building is in the middle of the old town and you can't drive down every route. (pedestrian zone).

Germany and the Internet are not a success story, unfortunately not in the Höerhof either. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

The hotel is located in a beautiful half-timbered house. It has an idyllic courtyard and a cute breakfast room. It is located on the edge of the old town, which can be reached on foot in a few minutes. The hotel offers wonderful peace and quiet with great views. Our standard room under the attic was small but nice. The bathroom was new and clean. And the breakfast was good for 15€. There was no buffet, but it was very lovingly arranged on site.

Lovely old building, charming town. The Hotel is very unique, we enjoyed it a lot. Service was very very good, outstanding sommelier who not only knew her wines, but was brilliant with tastings and samples and selling. Truly one in a thousand, thank you! Food was okay, not great, seems like the victim of limited staff. Big portions, but taste was a bit blend, too much use of sous-vide machine.

On May 1st we took a foray through the worlds of pleasure! (Christmas gift). Every course was explained to us, including the corresponding wines. A taste experience like no other! Because we were an interested and happy group and Ms Making Kogge laugh a few times she said while paying: You are welcome to come back! I don't say that to everyone. See you soon!

The hotel is peppered with small and lovely details, which is reflected in the family and friendly manner. The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating, our room was very well maintained and the great location stood out as an outstanding place as a starting point for the old town. The next time we visit Idstein, we will definitely stay here at the hotel for the night.

Great hotel in the middle of beautiful Idstein. The rooms are beautifully integrated into the historical ambience of the house and yet are modern and comfortable. The food - breakfast as well as lunch and dinner as part of a seminar - was excellent. Unfortunately, only the offer for vegetarians/vegans seemed a bit poor and unimaginative.
