Yesterday was my first time at Ambach, and I was pleasantly surprised. The food is good, bordering on excellent (the Ambach bread is outstanding). The service is exceptional. Attentive without being intrusive, warm but not flippant. Everything was just right. On the surface, there's nothing to complain about regarding the ambiance; the place is very stylish and chic, essentially consisting of two large, very open spaces stacked one on top of the other. Personally, though, I felt it lacked a bit of coziness and comfort. It's perfect for a pleasant evening with friends, but not for a romantic candlelight dinner.

We can only echo Till's words. We ate there two days in a row... Stunning! A culinary delight from start to finish!!! The first visit was spontaneous, and since the restaurant was fully booked, we were able to dine there for four people. On the second evening, we were able to enjoy more dishes... Everything is prepared and served with love and passion! And that's exactly what you taste. A joy in this day and age; you're treated like royalty here... You're pampered with plenty of wit and cheerfulness... And even more so, you're addressed informally, instead of the usual German "Sie"... So welcoming! It feels good! And when we're back in Germany, the Ambach is a must for German human values ​​and culinary delights! Even though it was relatively busy, we still managed to get space for four people and two dogs. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Water for the dogs was already there before we could even order. Thank you so much for the wonderful evening.

It couldn't be better! A super-friendly welcome, a cozy atmosphere. The service is first-class – just like the food! It's worth browsing the entire menu, just for the imaginative ideas. The view of the city's landmark, the Witches' Tower, through the recessed window on the upper floor completes the experience.

We had various appetizers, a cheeseburger with extras, the vegan burger, and the Jägerschnitzel, and this was our third and final visit to Ambach. Some of the appetizers were far too cold. But the burgers were sub-par. Honestly, probably one of the worst burgers I've ever eaten. The patties were completely dry and simply dead. The buns were also incredibly dry. The meat has to be juicy in a burger. This shoe sole is sub-par. The vegan burger tasted like fish mush and was inedible. One star goes to the Jägerschnitzel. It was delicious. Overall, though, the service is top notch. We didn't have to pay for the inedible vegan burger.

We love coming to Ambach in Idstein twice a year for delicious food and always enjoy the delicacies on offer. Everything is just right, from the ambiance to the service and the food, it's incredibly good. And the waitresses are friendly.

Right in the heart of Idstein, in a truly fantastic location, is one of our absolute favorite restaurants. The central location not only makes it easy to reach but also creates a lovely ambiance—ideal for a stop after a stroll through the city or simply for a special evening. We visit this restaurant regularly and have never been disappointed. From the moment you enter, you feel welcome and well looked after. I would particularly like to emphasize the warm and attentive service. Steffi, one of the waitresses, especially manages to make your visit even more pleasant. With her friendly manner, her attention to detail, and the feeling that you are truly valued as a guest, she contributes significantly to making you feel completely at home. The menu is varied and well-thought-out. What's especially nice is that parts of the menu change regularly—so there are always new dishes to discover. This variety makes it exciting to return again and again and demonstrates that the kitchen values ​​creativity and fresh ideas. The food itself is simply outstanding. From the quality of the ingredients to the preparation and presentation, you can tell the passion the food is cooked with. Each course impresses with flavor, refinement, and a certain lightness. Whether classics or seasonal specialties – every dish we've tried so far has completely delighted us. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant. It combines a fantastic ambiance with excellent food and second-to-none service. Anyone in Idstein who values ​​good food in a relaxed yet unique atmosphere should definitely stop by.

The ambiance is truly beautiful, with the rustic castle walls and the beautiful interior decor immediately impressing. However, I have to say that the lady serving us unfortunately forgot a couple of our requests, which can happen sometimes and isn't a big deal, but it was still very nice and friendly. The food was excellent, nothing to complain about. Parking is also great. Conclusion: We'd go back anytime👍🏻👍🏻

We were impressed by the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Where else can you find such attentive and friendly service? The food was also of very good quality; it wasn't frozen or convenience food. Very good quality and at reasonable prices! I often get annoyed by excessive prices and poor quality. Here at AMBACH, the food tasted good, and much of the menu is regional. Wonderful!

We were there yesterday for a company outing. The service was excellent. We were able to place our orders quickly and received them quickly, too. Everyone was able to eat delicious food at the same time and didn't have to sit with empty plates. When it came to the check, the staff even remembered what everyone had eaten and drunk. Very nice restaurant! We celebrated our wedding there with 20 people and made reservations in advance, and the menu was put together. Everything was very well organized. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. We would definitely go back and a big thank you to Steffi!

The food is of good quality. However, the price seems relatively high—especially compared to other restaurants in the area that also source their produce locally. The interior is industrially styled, modern, and attractive, but the noise and reverberation create a somewhat train station atmosphere.

My Frankfurter schnitzel with green sauce was okay, but I found the farmer's fries too dry. We didn't find the dumplings in chanterelle cream that tasty. The dumplings were much too moist, almost soft, and very bland in flavor. The service was attentive.

Super delicious burgers. We had the one with avocados, accompanied by a perfectly cooked fried egg; highly recommended. The friendly and quick-witted service rounded off the evening perfectly.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A culinary hit at Ambach – definitely try it while it's available! The crispy cod with wakame salad was an absolute hit as the daily special! The fish: wonderfully crispy on the outside, wonderfully juicy on the inside – perfectly prepared. The wakame salad brings a fresh seafood note into play, which is ideally complemented by the creamy sesame sauce. The sauce is not only a visual eye-catcher, but also a true taste highlight that ties everything on the plate together. A harmonious, creative dish that shows how much attention to detail goes into the kitchen here. It's just a shame it's not on the menu permanently – so grab it when it's offered again as a daily special! Five stars – without question.

This was our third time there, and we really enjoyed it again. There were two minor disappointments: The welcome drink was very tasty, but a non-alcoholic version for the driver would have been nice. The sweet potato fries with sour cream were really good, and the burgers are also really tasty. Unfortunately, for the second time, we had a small issue with the patties on two of our burgers being a bit raw. The service and atmosphere are great. A big compliment. We would be happy to recommend you.

It didn't taste particularly good; the bun was too hard and dry, and somewhat flavorless. The drinks were good, but for the price, I expected the basil/mint leaves to be brown; it just doesn't look appetizing. It used to be better.

The pommes were tasty but the burgers were a let-down, we didn't feel what we've got matched the high price tag at all. Service and atmosphere were fine.

Dear potential guests, due to the lack of alternatives in Idstein, a visit is inevitable. However, we once again experienced that the boss was resting on his initial laurels. The service is inattentive and the politeness could be improved. 1. No service for 30 minutes with empty glasses? 2. Dessert is served without cutlery and a knife and fork are brought? - with ice cream?? The price is too high for the quality of the food. But feel free to make up your own mind. - a patty can be raw on the inside or the melted cheese can be hard.

The burgers at Ambach have been a highlight for me in terms of taste for a long time, I haven't had such good burgers in a long time. I had a cheeseburger + bacon and my wife had a venison burger + gluten free burger bun!! The extra sweet potato fries were also very good here. However, the burgers are also in the upper class in terms of price. You have to want to pay over €20 for a burger and fries. As long as the quality is right, I'm willing to pay for it. We'd love to come back. Then we look forward to the “free” drink at the reception again.
