The food is ok (just ok) but in the 21st century it's not normal not to accept card payment.
To me it's just not normal for restaurants to only accept cash in 2025!
I've been a loyal customer of this snack bar since 2003. I've tried numerous other kebab shops in and around Munich, but this one is by far the best for me, my family, and my friends, and it's especially impressive for its fair price-performance ratio.
Nowhere else is the meat used as tender, lean, crispy, and well-seasoned. I've never had wobbly, fatty, rubbery, or gristly pieces here, as I've had with so many other vendors. The ingredients in the flatbread are well-distributed and deliciously seasoned right down to the last bite, and even when the kebab gets cold, it still tastes delicious.
The family who runs it is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Every special request is happily fulfilled with a friendly smile.
Since everything is prepared fresh with great dedication and care, you sometimes have to be a bit patient during peak times. There's a reason the snack bar is so busy, and it's also very popular with truck drivers and schoolchildren... but the wait is definitely worth it!!!
You can also pre-order by phone.
There's now a second snack stand to the right of the Garching subway exit (Maibaumplatz) run by the same people.
Definitely give it a try!
100% recommendation!
Not enough for the money: a (rather small) Margherita pizza for pickup for €10.50 – that's just too expensive, unfortunately! (Even though food, energy, etc. have become more expensive, I know.)
Better to go 200 meters further to the other Italian restaurant. There, the pizza is almost twice the size and costs less.
I was positively surprised. I had a red lentil soup. This was in no way inferior to the taste and quality of a soup that you get in Turkey, for example, from a family that has lived there for generations. The bread that was served with it was really adequate and tasted okay. Okay, since when you get such a delicious soup, a bread is just bread and therefore counts as a side dish. Absolutely recommended if you want to eat a very good soup. It's a shop that doesn't play tricks, what counts here is the product and not what's on the outside, which is what you usually get. So thumbs up
A beautiful hike to the alpine pasture and a very nice location. We were very disappointed because the pasture was closed, even though the website states it's open Wednesday through Thursday. What a shame! Poor information.
I had a kebab with turkey and extra sheep's cheese for €7.50. It was very well filled, filled you up and was really tasty with the red cabbage. This won't be my last visit 👍🏽
