The service and the food were absolutely fantastic. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful evening; the atmosphere was fantastic, and we felt at home. The service was so outstanding, so good that other restaurants could definitely learn a thing or two from it. We even received chocolates as a farewell gift.
I went to Shabab's Vegetable Kebab and ordered a chicken doner. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The bread was only briefly heated on the grill and was still cold. There was very little sauce, which made the doner dry and rather bland in taste. I don't quite understand why the place has so many good reviews—perhaps it's because there are no better alternatives in the area. It's a shame, I was expecting more.
I already reviewed the restaurant 5 years ago. Back then, I wrote, "Authentic Mexican cuisine and very service-oriented staff. Clearly recommend it 👍." I gave it 5 stars.
On my last visit in May 2025, however, disappointment prevailed, so I can only rate the restaurant with a maximum of 2 stars.
1. The waitress repeatedly forgot our drink and dessert orders. In general, the service staff was unattentive. Even when we complained, they reacted unprofessionally and even disinterestedly. Rolling your eyes when you want to pay separately is completely unacceptable.
2. Poorly poured glasses (all of them, so not an accident, but intentional).
3. The price-performance ratio is no longer good. Meager portions at now overpriced prices.
4. The taste was a complete disappointment. The chicken was extremely dry and bland. There was far too little sauce. The appetizer was a joke, considering what was on the plate and how much you were asked to pay for it.
5. I won't pay 100 euros and still go home hungry again.
There were four of us for dinner: two roast pork, a turkey schnitzel, and a cordon bleu. The roast pork was underseasoned, the potato salad had no salt and a very odd consistency, and the savoy cabbage wasn't seasoned at all. The other dishes were okay. After consulting the very friendly staff, we were given a free drink. Thank you for that! Otherwise, it's in the heart of the city, quaint and cozy.
Top, very good and large pizzas. Thin base, crispy edge. We shared carpaccio as a starter and it was served on two plates. The in-house bread is very tasty!
Unfortunately, the staff is very unfriendly and arrogant, which spoils the beautiful location and the good, but very expensive, food. Haidhausen certainly has better options.
Immer gerne wieder :)
The food was okay, nothing special, but nothing to complain about.
The problem was more the one unfriendly waitress. I don't know what her problem is, but her atmosphere is simply out of place in the restaurant industry.
I don't know her name, but she definitely had a ventilator in her throat and was consistently rude and unpleasant. Too bad, I don't need that on a Sunday.
