The food was exceptionally delicious, and the waiter, presumably the owner, was a very friendly man.
I was particularly impressed with my "pide with tzatziki," which was simply outstanding, just as it should be. The fries were also incredibly tasty. My companion had a main course and said it was quite good.
A particularly positive point: the Coke was real, not watered down.
The tables are a good size, perhaps not huge, but perfectly adequate.
The value for money was also ideal. Perfect for families who enjoy a generous meal, both in terms of portion sizes and quality.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this lovely and pleasant restaurant to everyone.
Coming from Texas I’m a really tough critic on Mexican food restaurants. This place is authentic and delicious! Food is fresh, frozen margs so good, service is great, love the atmosphere, and the owner is super kind. If you’re homesick for some Mexican/TexMex give this place a visit.
A truly amazing experience! I will definitely come back. For a moment, I felt like I was back in Nepal; the atmosphere, the feeling, everything about it was just perfect. Highly recommended!
I ordered two Margherita pizzas, and neither of them had cheese on them. (2 years ago)
EDIT: It seems it was a misunderstanding back then. I went back a while ago, and everything was fine. The pizza was delicious and didn't look like the pizzas I ordered back then, which are pictured below.
For the past 10 years, we've always enjoyed going to Café Ludwig. Today was our first visit since the change of ownership in 2025. Unfortunately, the service was disastrous. Several guests complained, having to go to the bar both to order and to pay. The server was overwhelmed, didn't know her own menu, didn't say "please" or "thank you," and didn't say goodbye. The food is also worse than it used to be. The fries were cold. The food is simply being reheated in the kitchen.
The owner sits outside smoking and seems oblivious to the chaos. It's a real shame. This place has so much potential.
While we waited, several guests asked in vain for cake, which is apparently no longer offered.
The food was excellent! The service was also very good, even considering the restaurant was extremely busy the evening we were there; the food and drinks arrived quickly.
The ambiance was okay, though a bit cramped around the tables. It was really busy, though.
I was a little bothered by the variety of different lamps inside, which of course didn't affect the food!
The cocktails were great too!
I would recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends.
The place is really, really popular!
We went out for dinner tonight, really looking forward to a delicious roast chicken and fries... and we weren't disappointed at all! The chicken was juicy, the skin crispy and tasty, and the fries weren't too greasy. Even the "simple" side salad was surprisingly good.
And we thought €19.80 per portion was perfectly reasonable for the quality, especially considering we were in a resort town.
Thanks to the chef for the delicious dinner. We'll definitely recommend it! :)
I had made a reservation for Christmas Day with my family (15 people). Since my daughter (4) has celiac disease, I had inquired beforehand via email whether they offered anything gluten-free (fries, fried potatoes, etc.). The owner, Mr. Heilmann, replied that I could order something gluten-free on-site. Upon arrival, I specifically asked for gluten-free fries, which unfortunately overwhelmed the completely clueless waitress. She returned with the answer, "Fries are always gluten-free." After she made several more such remarks, I knew I wouldn't be ordering anything for my daughter there. Many thanks to the "Weinrestaurant Spundloch," which somewhat salvaged the evening for my tearful daughter! Then, regarding the food in general: I had spinach dumplings that unfortunately tasted of practically nothing, and Brussels sprouts that were already gray and overcooked. The venison and sauce were fine, but unfortunately, the dishes were only lukewarm at best. All in all, I can only advise against this restaurant, especially for people with food intolerances or allergies. They tell all sorts of stories to get people into the restaurant; the fact that people's health is at stake is clearly irrelevant.
