Warning – absolutely not recommended! I ate at this restaurant yesterday and subsequently developed a severe gastrointestinal illness, clearly related to the food served there. That alone would be bad enough – but the taste of the food was also a disaster. I had a paneer chili curry, which was neither spicy (even though I ordered extra spicy) nor seasoned in any way – it tasted like a watered-down tomato soup. The chicken vindaloo was also disappointing: hardly any spice, mostly potatoes, and the supposed "chicken" was barely recognizable as such – it was more of a guessing game as to which part was meat and which wasn't. An absolute no-go for an Indian restaurant. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in an Indian restaurant. When you get sick on top of that, the fun is completely over. I'm seriously considering contacting the health department, because this kind of thing needs to be urgently investigated. Definitely never again – and I can only advise everyone: keep your hands off!

I’ve been living in Germany for 2 years and this was hands down one of the most authentic Indian restaurants here. We ordered samosas, saag chicken, and paneer butter masala. The food was top notch, especially the breads and the samosa. We finished with a cup of chai! 100% recommend. Service was a cherry on top!

The lunch was reasonably priced and perfectly fine. But nothing special. So, it gets a 3 out of 5.

Disastrous service, food not as ordered, but okay. Our table for six people was booked for 6 p.m., we arrived on time, and were greeted warmly. Then the linguistic adventure began: The waitress understood neither German nor English, even when ordering by number. The drinks were brought around 6:30 p.m., and then the food order was taken; here, too, we had to repeat what we had requested several times. The food arrived at 7:30 p.m., 90 minutes after arrival. Of the six dishes, one was completely wrong (chicken instead of fish), and the others were not spicy enough, with zero spice. We had to ask for the bill twice, waiting a total of 25 minutes after the first question. One meal and one drink were omitted from the bill. My 75-year-old father, with the patience of an angel, said it was the worst service he could remember. We won't be coming back and advise against visiting.

Whenever we're in Bad Reichenhall, a visit to Max is a must. This time we went to the lovely, quiet outdoor area. We like spicy food and chose "Indian spicy" for our dishes. It was great. The service is very friendly and attentive. Yes, sometimes you have to resort to English, but I find it quite entertaining. I definitely recommend it!

Very Authentic food with really good taste. Ordered two Tikka ( Lahm and Paneer) which were well spiced with very tasty sauces. Highly recommend for any one who visits Bad Reichenhall. Great and friendly service from the staff. And the atmosphere is very classic Indian filled with some classic 70's Bollywood songs. One of best Indian restaurant I visited in Germany.

Unfortunately the food wasn't that good. I ordered duck and unfortunately I only got bad meat. It was greasy and everything was hanging together. There weren't any really good pieces of meat. The sauce and rice were normal quality and nothing special. Since I picked up the food, I can't say much about the atmosphere. But it seemed quite pleasant.

While walking through Bad Reichenhall, looking for a good restaurant, we came across the Indian restaurant by chance. The welcome from the staff was extremely warm and the atmosphere conveyed a pleasant cosiness. The meals we ordered were delicious and we would definitely visit the restaurant again if we were in the area again.

We live in Luxembourg and we visited the restaurant during our vacations in Bad Reichenhall. I've eaten at different Indian restaurants in Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, etc., however, the food at Max Indisches restaurant surpasses them all in taste and quality. I know the spices are adjusted in Indian restaurants to suit the European palate, however, the restaurant manager customized the food for us and we felt we are eating in a restaurant in India. My favorite was the Chicken Tikka Masala which was unlike any other chicken tikka masala I've eaten at other Indian restaurants in Europe - perfect blend of spices and most importantly, the chicken was tender. The mixed vegetable was equally delicious. The key highlight of this restaurant is that while adjusting the spices to suit European taste buds, the chef doesn't compromise on the real flavors of India. In addition to that, they customize the spices accurately to suit the real Indian palate, not that half-hearted, unsynchronized flavors that other restaurants serve. I would always recommend Max Indisches over any other Indian restaurant I've visited in continental Europe. Five Stars to the restaurant manager.

The Max has great food, whether lunch, dinner or pick-up. Good service and friendly and attentive staff. There is also a pleasant atmosphere and, last but not least, a good price/performance ratio.

Wonderful Indian restaurant in Bad Reichenhall The dishes under “house specialties” are personally prepared by the chef and are incredibly tasty and delicious. The prices are reasonable, not too expensive and if you like the typical Indian spices, this is a great place for you. We enjoyed it fantastically and the service was very friendly. As a starter there is the house baked bread made from pea flour (papadam) with 3 different sauces.

I was there with my wife for dinner. The service was prompt and very kind. The food and the drinks were delicious and obliging. I wonder why there were not too many people there at the time, maybe because of the soccer game. I can highly recommend this place for a healthy and enjoyable delicious dinner.

We had a delightful lunch at this restaurant, where the peaceful ambiance and stunning mountain views from the outdoor seating made for a perfect dining experience. The staff was attentive and friendly, enhancing our overall enjoyment. We ordered vegetarian dishes, including Dal Makhani, Palak Paneer, naan, and chapati, all of which were exceptionally tasty. To our pleasant surprise, extra salad and papad were provided without asking, and the meal was perfectly capped off with delicious digestive shots.

We have eaten Indian food so many times and have enough to compare. We really liked it and tasted great. The restaurant is totally inconspicuous, but if you like Indian food, you shouldn't be put off by the external impression (it looks like a simple beer garden from the outside). Very nice service, papadam in advance, you can sit in the beer garden when the weather is good. I ordered a vegetarian dish, which I really enjoyed. Raita was great, as was the naan bread with coconut (a poem). Very, very tasty food and great value for money! Only recommended.

The experience of ordering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes for a group of 15 was disappointing. The taste fell well short of expectations, and the service, which took an hour, was slow.

Worst service and took nearly one hour to serve the order, although the restaurant was empty. And taste is very bad. Total loss of time and money.

Excellent Indian food in Salzburg area

Unfortunately very disappointing. We ordered 2 vegetarian dishes. Both dishes were described as having vegetables, nuts, raisins...unfortunately one dish only had vegetable balls and sauce and mine had some vegetables and then the same sauce again... For the price of 14 € per dish I expect more than a standard sauce and a few vegetables...please save somewhere else and on the dishes...

The service was excellent. The prices were standard and taste was really good too. Would recommend it. You can even request something that is not in the menu too. The food tastes really delicious, but no one can speak German. If you want to order something, you come right away, but you only speak broken English, so you don't understand anything

We had the food delivered. The main courses were tasty, but the levels of spiciness that you can choose make no sense at all. A slightly spicy dish was hotter than a very spicy dish. But none of it was really spicy. The breaded baked cauliflower is absolutely not suitable for delivery as it arrives completely wobbly and is also a catastrophe in terms of price. Far too expensive and unbalanced for the few pieces. The same as breaded chicken would have cost the same (?!). For the bread, you could have given four people more dip.
