My employer gave me the pleasure of visiting this restaurant. After a half-hearted welcome, we were seated. The food that was brought to us looked very artistic. However, there were leftover food left by the waitresses on the service trays (probably from the table in front of them, which was being cleared up), which definitely spoiled our appetite. The wooden boxes, which are one of the highlights, also seemed to have been used several times without being properly cleaned. While they tried hard to conceal it, they still disgusted us. The dirty service trays, in particular, suggest that hygiene isn't that important here (one review even mentions food intolerances in restaurants; I experienced exactly the same thing. I got terrible stomach cramps when I got home).
As for the working atmosphere, it was terrible to witness. As soon as the restaurant door opened, you could hear the chef screaming. The employees were shouted at and chased from room to room. Above all, only foreign workers were seen, which unfortunately makes me suspect that they are being prioritized for recruitment so that they can shout at them more easily. The head chef's behavior therefore came across as very fake to me. He's super nice to us, but he yells at his workers until he's completely exhausted. The working conditions should definitely be reviewed, including whether the hygiene protocol is being followed. I think it's a shame that such a place can still be open, even though as a guest you know exactly what's going on back in the kitchen.
A very disappointing experience. In my opinion, the fantastic Michelin stars, which the chef is so proud of (he probably talks about them every five minutes), should also be revoked. A complete failure.
A top location, you won't find anything like it anywhere else. If you just want to go to a pub for a cozy beer, it's great. They also serve some delicious, freshly prepared dishes. The ambiance is incomparable and you certainly won't find anything like it anywhere else.
So, go there.
The halloumi wrap I had was pretty average. I was missing a signature sauce and more veggies brause the halloumi itself is so salty and dominant in this wrap.
This is a solid option in Augsburg. Slightly away from the main areas but still within easy reach and with reasonable prices. Garlic Bread was a good starter, and the "Hunters Schnitzel" was a good main.
Great place, always delicious and fresh.
The portions used to be a bit larger, but now they're a bit smaller, but otherwise good. The only downside is that the restrooms could be cleaner.
Cash only.
We spontaneously stopped by the beer garden for lunch during the week. I have to say, the value for money is absolutely spot on. The staff was friendly and quick, the food was truly delicious, and honestly, where else in Augsburg can you find the chance to sit outside under the trees in a beer garden 🤷🏻♂️ (even if it's a bit of a backyard). We'd love to come back!
Highly recommended! We were here with 7 adults and 6 children, and everyone enjoyed the food without exception. Many thanks also to the friendly service 👏
The quality of the food is very good and the prices are reasonable. The service is inattentive and clearly lacks training in the restaurant industry. After the main course, our plates were cleared away without comment, and we weren't asked for more drinks or desserts. It's a shame, as the food was very tasty and good.
