My husband and I were here shortly before New Year's. We arrived just before lunchtime, around 2 p.m., and were treated with such kindness and attention. We were frozen from our hike and hungry. (Hence the hungry photo.) The landlady and chef are simply welcoming, and the food was fantastic. For us northern Germans living in Berlin, the non-alcoholic beer selection was fantastic (required for locals). We'll be back on our next trip there.
It was our first time in the showroom. A truly fantastic experience, featuring a variety of culinary highlights and excellent service.
We didn't find the noise level, which other guests had mentioned as a drawback, to be a problem.
Thank you for a wonderful evening!
A truly wonderful and authentic Italian restaurant. The staff are incredibly friendly. The food is delicious. The tomato soup is highly recommended; it's the perfect way to start a flavorful evening. The atmosphere is wonderfully cozy.
My typical go-to is a lamb biryani at an Indian restaurant. Can’t go wrong. And certainly wasn’t wrong at this restaurant. We ordered Helles beer and my colleague ordered a curry and I ordered the biryani.
Food came out within 10 min. Restaurant wasn’t busy at 8:30 pm. It’s located within a mall next to the Residence Inn by Marriott we were staying at (1 min walk away outside, same level). The lamb was tender, the rice was cooked well, and the dish was seasoned properly. The dish was also not too oily and did not come with a bread topping, which I personally am not a fan of. My nitpick is that for the price of €18, I’d expect at least an egg to come with the dish.
Waiter was very attentive. He even gave me a dish of finger chillies to accompany the biryani.
Atmosphere was meh. It’s a mall.
Takeaway…if you’re traveling and staying at the Résidence inn, well worth the dinner especially if you’re getting a bit tired of German food…
Seit dem Besitzerwechsel eine Enttäuschung. Der Laden hat komplett an Qualität verloren. Das Essen war ungenießbar und der Service ist sehr schwach geworden.
Unfortunately, our visit was very disappointing. The quality of the food and the service left much to be desired. The waiter was friendly, but seemed somewhat overwhelmed. My dish was fine, but my companion's was a different story: the fried potatoes and the hash were practically dripping with grease, and the soup with dumplings had to be returned because the dumpling inside was still frozen.
Instead of showing understanding or simply bringing a new plate, the owner reacted extremely rudely and started arguing with us. She even made us feel untrustworthy and claimed she had tasted the dumpling herself – at a time when it had been floating in the hot soup, cut into small pieces, for quite a while and had plenty of time to thaw.
When a roast pork was finally served, whose potato dumpling inside was also not properly thawed, it was clear to us: neither the quality nor the customer service was up to par. For a restaurant in this price range, this is absolutely unacceptable. That's a shame – we really expected more.
