Well, there's soooo much room for improvement.
Dear Anthony, this can't go on for much longer. Where are you? He said: "On vacation...here less often...I hardly ever cook here..." So, what are you doing then?
The food was GREAT, CREATIVE FUSION - but I don't like waiting 2.5 hours for the first main course. 6 courses over 5 hours just doesn't work. Reason: We're far too understaffed today?
At €300 per person?
1. Waiter is ALWAYS holding onto the customer's water bottle while prancing on one leg.
2. Staff doesn't say please, thank you, or hello ("She's still a bit shy...?")
3. Minimal greeting upon entry.
4. EC machine broken for 15 minutes.
5. Then running after the customer in the parking lot: unfortunately, they mistyped, it's €200 more...
6. Very attentive and friendly chefs at the table, but always being addressed informally...?
Anthony, this service isn't worth the money anymore; it was only out of politeness that we didn't leave after 3 hours, even though we had to wait up to 45 minutes for the next course.
But: the espresso was too bitter, and the restaurant was half empty....
Sorry, do something about that. Otherwise, this place will soon be cold, too.
I got the "extra meat" donor sandwich. Two things- the meat was shaved so incredibly thin as to be tasteless (literally) and THERE WAS SO LITTLE MEAT! All lettuce. A huge rip off.
And the lentil soup? Watered down and tasteless. I came because the reviews said huge portions and tasty. WRONG. On both counts.
We sat in the cozy, green courtyard. We received very friendly service, and both the gluten-free and regular spaetzle were delicious. The homemade lemonade was also delicious. Thank you very much.
At this restaurant, you're lured with old menus available online, but then once inside, you're ripped off with new, more expensive prices. And when you ask, they simply say, "Yes, the prices are different online, and the prices are different here in the store." No accommodation, no apology, nothing... Simply arrogant.
Super delicious food, especially the homemade Düren bread. The meat is amazing...everything was super tasty and the people were very, very nice ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
We had one Tantuni Dürüm and lunch was roasted minced veal with peppers and eggplant with rice and bread...so delicious 🌹🌹🌹
The service was a bit slow at first (but it was also busy), but ultimately, it was really nice and friendly. Very tasty wine, although the menu could have included a bit more information than just dry/semi-dry and the winery. The food is super delicious, but also a bit more expensive than at other wine bars. The seating is comfortable outside, right in the pedestrian zone—really nice :)
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel and can definitely recommend it. Only one or two minor things were a bit annoying, but the rest was great :)
Positive:
- Location (just a few steps from the beach and right on the promenade)
- Very friendly staff
- Great and delicious breakfast selection
- Beautiful, modern hotel with a great view, quiet
- Large and well-furnished room (junior suite with sea view)
- Bicycles for rent
Negative:
- Parking is too expensive for the price you pay for the overnight stay, and there's hardly anything cheaper or free around here
- Poor Wi-Fi, smart TV/apps weren't really usable, streaming only worked via mirroring
- From our room on the first floor, we had a direct view of the snack bar across the street. There are beach chairs facing the hotel, so everyone sitting there could practically see right into your room. We always felt like we were being watched, and we couldn't use the loggia as comfortably as we'd hoped. Luckily, we were able to change rooms two days later and move up one floor. The reception staff were very accommodating and helpful. The view of the sea from the new room was even more amazing, and no one outside could see it either. We'll keep that in mind for next time :) We'll definitely be back.
