One of the hottest restaurants with Alpine flair in a rustic atmosphere in the middle of Berlin. The food and drinks are absolutely top. And the best thing is the crew - you just have to love them. Our band has been coming here for years and is always happy.

A nice German style fine dining experience. Their drink selection is great, however don’t recommend the fruit brandy/schnapps as the amount given is very small, almost like a free sample you’d give to someone to try. Did not like that getting remainder of food leftover as takeaway there’s a 1 euro charge without anyone informing of this. Make sure to make a reservation, otherwise a good chance you’ll be turned away.

The menu offered a variety of classic dishes and the pork knuckle stood out with its rich flavor and perfect experience. I left with satisfied palate and a deeper appreciate for German ciulinary tradition

Super delicious food and excellent service

I visit this restaurant often and have never been disappointed. If you are in Berlin and want to experience german cooking, this is the place to go. You will probably love it if you are British, as you can get roast pork with crackling (the Haxe). The staff are really lovely and it won't cost you an arm and a leg.

The crispy pork knuckle blew me away. it's huge and crunchy outside and tender inside. The atmosphere felt cozy. Bonus points for the waitstaff rocking traditional outfits, it added such a cool vibe

We had a great visit to this restaurant! German cuisine is simply fantastic – the portions are huge and at a really fair price. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable here! The wait staff was super accommodating and really looked after us well. You can tell that a great team works together here and supports each other. The decoration is also a highlight - fun and interesting, which makes the ambience even more pleasant. I can only warmly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit!

It was a bit noisy but very familiar!

Food is great, but we were charged by extra fee (4.5 euro) just because we were not so hungry and only shared one main course. I never had any similar experience in Germany. Service is extremely terrible, waited for so long/ unfriendly waitress/starter was given with main dish without asking/ordered hot chocolate but came with cream without asking me as well. Recommended by a friend but I’m very disappointed after driving for so long to get there.

We visit the Restaurant zur Hexe often, especially from November onwards, and it is a highlight every time! As soon as you enter the restaurant you are warmly welcomed by the warm, friendly and professional staff. This atmosphere runs through the entire evening - attentive, but never intrusive, simply perfect. The food is always excellent. The dishes are lovingly prepared, taste perfectly balanced and impress with their high quality. You can feel that the cooking here is done with passion and skill. The atmosphere is another reason why we love coming here. It feels like a little vacation in Bavaria: cozy, authentic and just to feel good. For us, the Restaurant zur Hexe is always a place where you feel welcome and have a wonderful time. Absolutely recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)

A culinary highlight! I absolutely loved the restaurant “Zur Haxe”. The ham knuckle was absolutely amazing - tender, juicy and with an incredibly crispy crust. A poem for all meat lovers! The crowning finale was a fantastic Kaiserschmarrn, which catapulted me straight into culinary paradise. The service was really outstanding - the staff were not only extremely friendly, but also very attentive and empathetic. You felt welcome and well looked after right from the start. Absolute recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy hearty Bavarian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. A place I will definitely come back to!

Oh man, what can you say here? You have to experience Zur Haxe because the employees are awesome, so nice, friendly and they can really do their job. They know what they serve and what the differences are. They are also very child-friendly, which is not a given. The food is really good, the knuckle is simply a dream. There was half a duck which was also really good. We'll be back, that's a promise.

After a long time again! Service friendly and accommodating. Ambience rather kitschy with stuffed animals!?? I remembered the ham knuckle to be larger and, above all, tastier. The cabbage was pale and tasteless, the hash browns were cold and definitely not homemade.

My younger brother came to visit from Korea and wanted to try the food he had in Munich, so I searched carefully and it was super delicious :) The restaurant is a bit far away, but it was worth the trip. Reservation required before going!!

It is a picturesque and authentic place! We ate very well and they treated us very well although they didn't even speak English well but they made an effort to serve us very well. Ideal to go with children, I think even dog friendly. You have to try it!

Delicious food, friendly staff who were very accommodating to a non-German speaker. Crispy duck was excellent. Highly recommended and I will be going back. Edit: A few years later and while I haven’t been back to Germany, I think about this cozy spot all the time. Eating here ended up being a very memorable experience for me. It’s hard to explain, but the customers and staff were just so warm and welcoming to some random American. I hope they’re all doing well.

There were 6 of us and I have to admit without envy that the order was taken without a note and, on top of that, everything arrived correctly... so: food and drinks... others can't even manage it with a note. The food was in good portions and tasted great too. Friendly and competent service

For a Latin palate I don't consider it to be the best. If traditional German food is like this, you can try to try it, but I think you will be disappointed. Now, I think there are things for everyone, surely the Germans love it, because of the traditional thing, but at least for a Latin palate that is used to foods with very bright flavors, this food is very far from that.

Hungry Schönhauser S-Bahn Hof got off. Looking for a German gobbler. Unfortunately almost extinct in Berlin. Not a Berlin corner bar, not a typical German restaurant. From the North Sea with sticky fries and mushy fish to the Indian restaurant, eating less, but Campari and gin and tonic, still hungry, Google led us to Erich Weinert-Str 128,,Zur Haxe,, German cosiness! Traditional snack. Roulades with red cabbage and dumplings. Delicious! Price-performance ratio is simply top. Service great 👍. Staff wearing lederhosen and traditional dresses treated us to food and drink. Many many thanks .

Warm and welcoming welcome, comforting and generous cuisine, simplicity and feeling of being at home. For us everything was perfect, we don't regret having moved and we will come back! GRAZIE!

Oh well. 6 cm long white sausages with an old pretzel; the sausages were served in a (presumably) beef broth that was apparently intended to be spooned out - that's very unusual! At least the beer was good and the service was in a good mood.

Hab den Leberkäse mit Spiegelei und Bratkartoffeln probiert. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Bratkartoffeln frisch und nicht zu sehr "verfettet" Der Leberkäse war sehr lecker. Die Portion ist mehr als ausreichend, auch wenn man mit Hunger anreist. Die Bedienung ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Das Essen kam relativ zügig. Alles in allem ein sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant

I was happy to be able to enjoy my first school year so well. The staff who took care of me were so kind and comfortable. I was able to happily wait for about 40 minutes for the food to be served. If you're studying in Berlin, I recommend this place!

Dry pork chops, and thus small chops Really sad (yes, I've eaten some Haxen and know what I'm talking about, this one had been kept warm for way too long, it was dry and overcooked) We made a big detour to end up here Not recommended, feels like we wasted many hours planning and getting here Simply worthless I love monkey strudel, but was so disappointed I skipped it. The pork knuckle was really good, much better than at the other two places in Berlin I’ve been to. My friends tasted Schnitzel and liked it as well. The restaurant only accepts a specific German card, so you’ll need cash.

I’ve lived in Germany before and haxe is the only German food I love to eat. The food at this place was good and the waiter was very gentle (the man waiter but the lady wasn’t so gentle) but the reason I give only one star is that they only accept cash. I was with my friend and her husband and I wanted to offer dinner and they wanted only cash. I mean in 2024… asking to travelers only cash is not acceptable at all. It’s probably related to tips but for me it’s not acceptable. If I didn’t carry enough cash with me that evening it could’ve been embarrassing moment for me in front of my guests. I think the food was good but you can find many other haxe places anywhere in Germany so I suggest you to go somewhere else if you don’t carry much cash. I spent almost 100€ in cash. Since I studied abroad in Germany, every time I come to Germany, the only food I want to eat is Hakse. The food at this restaurant was delicious, but one star. give. I went to this place because I wanted to treat them to dinner, but they only accept cash. I prefer not to carry a lot of cash with me while traveling, but fortunately I brought some cash with me this time. It was an embarrassing moment, or else the guest who took me would have had to pay. German tuition is delicious wherever you go. So, if you don't want to pay cash, you can go anywhere else and I guarantee it will be delicious. I think this place use to be a great local hole in the wall until we tourists over ran it. It still maintains many of the old world charm. The pork is the winner here. They have a crispy and broiled pork.. We went with both. The trout was also excellent. The half duck was crispy but a tad overdone. We ordered 4 of the specials, 3 salads, one soup and 2 beers. The total came to 84€. Dirt cheap.

Excellent German food, but at 9.30pm they refused to serve us dessert because according to them the kitchen was closed!! I understand everything, but it was 9.30pm!!!! And then why does Google say closing at 00.00?

Bavarian themed restaurant, serving up a host of traditional German/Bavarian meals, from schnitzel, sauerkraut, dumplings, and their speciality slow cooked (roasted and boiled) pork knuckle and lamb shank dishes. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in traditional Bavarian decor, and the staff is kitted out in traditional outfits, which adds to the experience - one waiter, who is a funny friendly guy, even went so far as to grow an impressive beard (see pics) Even more impressive is the food, which is rustik and homely. I had the goulash soup as a starter, which was hearty with a full depth of flavour, with a generous portion of thick cut veg and chunks of beef, and a generous portion. I then had the slow roast pork knuckle, with potato dumplings and sauerkraut, with a kind of gravy sauce. The pork fell off the bone, and was tender and moist, coated with a beautifully crisp and fatty crackling, which was all made to work with the sauce and sauerkraut to cut through the richness of the fat. The portion sizes were HUGE, and definitely something you could share with 2 people, if you don't feel like you could face a whole portion on your own, which I had to force myself to do. I had a look at the schnitzel another table had next to me, and vowed to go back just to try that when next in Berlin, it looked so good! As well as the amazing food, the staff were super warm, friendly, and accommodating. I turned up without a booking, and they happily squeezed me in between bookings without making me feel a nuisance. I had a lovely pint of Warsteiner with the meal, and all in all it came to only €30.50 (£25) which, in the UK could easily be double that amount. Considering the portions are enough for 2, then I'd say that's great value for money. I can't recommend this place more!

Highly recommended! Traditional German Schweinhaxe's. Perfectly served Warsteiner. Very nice staff. Reasonably priced neighbourhood place. Not for wine drinkers. This is a nice and quiet place for beer, schnaps and haxe! Doesn't get any better :) Probably a good idea to make a reservation.

The visit with my business partners was an unforgettable experience. In this very stylishly furnished restaurant we were served Berlin specialties but with a flair of haute cuisine. One of the special things here is that the individual dishes are relatively small portions, so that you can eat your way through Berlin cuisine. There are definitely special culinary experiences because Berlin cuisine has been brought to perfection. I will gladly come again.

Chosen spontaneously and was lucky enough to get a free spot. An interesting interior design gives a Bavarian cosiness. The menu offers not only Bavarian but also Berlin specialties. The friendly innkeepers were very quick. The food came in a reasonable time and was attractively prepared. The liver was very tasty, as were the Nuremberg sausages and the mixed salad. I once again enjoyed a Berliner Weisse. We'd love to come back.

A cute place, mehhhh salty food, long wait times (50 mins), lovely service, good price. We arrived around noon on Sunday, the restaurant was half full but we were asked to sit outside. Not sure why but it was alright, the staff did their best to sort out the wobbly leg. Service was lovely. As we arrived the place was half full and yet we waited 50 minutes for the 2 mains we ordered. The soup arrived after 40 minutes. Crispy pork knuckle was crispy but hella salty, saltier than other places. Potato dumplings were cute and bouncy, sausages were meh. Not sure if I'd recommend making the trip or why this is so highly rated. Spent a dear 2.5 hours here whjch could've been put to better use.

Un poco alejado del centro, pero perfecto para respirar tranquilidad y ambiente agradable. Personal atento y de trato muy agradable. Gastronomía típicamente alemana bien preparada y condimentada. Cocina bávara con especialidad en codillo de cerdo, de los mejores de Berlín. Espectacular el curado y crujiente. Pedimos sustituir la col típica alemana y la sustituyeron, por unas judías verdes, amablemente. Postres espectaculares. Platos generosos a precio razonable. Todo muy limpio y local amplio, luminoso con decoración tipica bávara. Totalmente recomendable. para repetir

I don't know how the food is because we arrived at 9.01pm and they wouldn't let us eat even though their website indicates 10pm as the time. It wasn't easy to find the place. I also wasted the taxi money. I found the all unprofessional
