MEGA! Looking for decent German food, we came across bass. We hadn't made a reservation and were lucky that there were still 2 places available. We had a Badisches Schäufele and Königsberger Kloppse. We were absolutely thrilled and had no idea that these essentially inconspicuous dishes would bring with them such an unexpected taste experience! We're coming back!

We were in bass a week ago. The food is delicious: the Wiener Schnitzel with warm potato salad is highly recommended, the Königsberger Klopse was also praised, as was the "Basskaus". The service was quick and friendly. You have to be lucky when looking for a parking space - if necessary, be patient, someone is always leaving. The prices are higher depending on the preferred city location.

Nice owners, good service and really delicious food. We were here at a private event two days ago and I was impressed by how they managed to put food of this high quality on the table for 50 people. Plus with different selection options. I am sure that you can have a very good meal here even without a major event.

We had a 6 people table dinner. The lady running the restaurant took my girlfriends order wrong ( same lady apologised and then fixed it ) and didn’t listen to my preferences in terms of drinks ( gin tonic with … ) At no point during the night did we get offered a refill of our drinks, a complementary dessert or any of the sorts. The strangest part of the night was getting water. Adding to the confusion we got offered a tiny container of water just enough for one person to drink, when specifically asked water for all. My tartare was underwhelming.

Eight of us ate there and a week later four of us. The food was brought to everyone at the same time and it tasted very good. Service nice, chef good, can only be recommended

We were here yesterday with friends based on a recommendation, for which we are very grateful. The service was incredibly friendly, attentive and accommodating. The food, German cuisine, surprising in its composition and super tasty. I had Matjes Tatar with beetroot as a starter, Basskaus as a main course and semolina with pistachio ice cream as a dessert. Everything is a real treat. And the ambience is also very nice! Thank you very much for the great evening! We would love to come back!

We had a delicious meal here last night. The menu is not overflowing and there are some very unusual delicacies. I had a three-course meal, the others at the table had dishes they had put together themselves. In the restaurant we had chef service and the chef (=boss) came at the end and asked if we liked it. Very classy! All prices were moderate and the portions were generous. We are delighted with our “discovery” of this restaurant. Delicious food, attentive and friendly service, very nice atmosphere, highly recommended.

Kleines familiengeführtes Restaurant mit außergewöhnlichem Konzept. Kleine Karte mit Neuinterpretationen badischer und Ostsee-Küche mit regionalen, ausgezeichneten Produkten samt spezifischer Getränkeauswahl. Man bekommt die volle Störtebecker-Palette! Unbedingt probieren: Bass-Kaus (von Labskaus, aber viel edler). Und danach einen Doppel-Kümmel oder ein Zibärtle. Duftes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die Chefin serviert selber.

We've wanted to go there for a while and now that we've made it, we're very happy to have been here. The service is extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is impeccably crafted and the dishes are so much German cuisine that you can use them as a benchmark for regional restaurants, but so unusual in their design that the restaurant clearly stands out from others. The guest room is attractive, cozy and inviting, but it doesn't look like you've seen it several times before. We would love to come back and look forward to our next visit!

I was really impressed with my experience at this restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing dinner with friends or a special evening. The menu is full of options, with well-prepared dishes and very fresh ingredients. I tried several courses and each dish was a perfect combination of flavors and impeccable presentation. The service was exceptional: the staff is kind, attentive and always ready to give excellent advice on dishes. All in a very peaceful atmosphere. In summary, a place I highly recommend to anyone looking for good food.

Very friendly atmosphere in the restaurant, you instantly feel welcomed by Anja who as co-owner is running the service. Her husband Bernd does magic in the kitchen with fresh produce and a wonderful selection of traditional yet modern interpretation of German food from the North and the South.

Dined here last week very friendly good service and excellent food. The photos in other reviews here show the quality of their offering. I would highly recommend a visit. The toilets were clean too. One comment on a constructive note which applies to your competition too is please try to go the extra mile for vegetarian people.

This is a family restaurant operated by a couple, which the husband cooks and his wife submit. The service is excellent. The food is delicious and served good taste while giving explanations. It is important to order a place because they only operate 13 tables to provide good and high quality service. Highly recommended

The composition of the menu and the origin of the products used are understandable and therefore receive my full recognition. The menu is not overloaded, so you can say: "Freshness is king"! Nice pub with a large selection of good beers (many of which are also non-alcoholic). The Maultaschen we ate were quite decent and the filling was definitely not a factory product. By Berlin standards it was quite decent, although the spoiled Baden palate still sees room for improvement.

Sie sind sehr bemüht, nur fehlt es an den Grundpfeilern. Durch die Unterbesetzung im Service , hat man nicht das Gefühl es wird sich aufmerksam gekümmert, sondern mehr, dass der Service ein reiner Bringdienst ist. Digitale Werbetafel tragen leider auch nicht zur Gemütlichkeit bei. Das Essen war in Ordnung, auch wenn es hart an der Säure und am Salz war. Generell ist die Idee etwas Nordic cuisine nach Berlin zu bringen, eine schöne Idee, sie müsste nur mit mehr liebe und klareren commitment umgesetzt werden.

Prima restaurant met een Duitse keuken. Vriendelijke bediening en een goede kwaliteit-prijsverhouding. Er is ook een 3- en 4-gangen seizoenmenu al was 1 keuze vervangen door een minder aantrekkelijke variant waardoor we geen 4-gangen hebben genomen. Al met al een goede plek om te eten in Berlijn.

Wir wurden nach einem schönen Tag in Berlin mit einem tollen Abendessen verwöhnt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Le restaurant est très agréable. Décoration claire et apurée il y meme deux cabines de plage. Le service est très bien. Le chef une fois terminé en cuisine (ferme à 21h30) vient même en salle aider. Les plats ne sont pas nombreux à la carte mais très bien exécutés. Il s’agit de plats traditionnels de la cuisine allemande revisités et totalement et modernisée notamment en terme d’assaisonnement ou de présentation du produit. Nous avons testé la saucisse au choix en entrée et en plats la schnitzel et les pâtes aux fromages. C’était excellent. Portion généreuse et addition plutôt douce pour la qualité. Il vaut mieux réserver en amont mais comme pour tout à Berlin.

One of the best restaurants when it comes to german cuisine. Located in the western part of Berlin, the restaurant offers the delights of german delicacies. The restaurant is decorated simple yet very elega t and gives a positive vibe of how mere orderliness and simplicity can bring the elegance triggering pleasantness. Menu items are limited which is good as the focus to prepare them well is not distributed too much. The food was tasty and we really enjoyed it. The lady who served us was very friendly and attended us with care. Definitely recommendable and deserves a revisit.

Sehr charmant geführtes Restaurant. Handwerklich gekonnt und preislich sehr fair. Labskaus sehr lecker und das kalbstatar als Vorspeise der Hammer.

Das Essen war gut, durchschnittlich gut. Hat uns nicht ungehauen.

Hier hat alles gepasst. Tolles Ambiente mit zuvorkommendem Service und fantastischem Essen. Auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung.

Ein von Anfang bis Ende tolles Konzept mit herausragenden Gerichten die im Gedächtnis bleiben! Es wurden Erinnerungen an zuhause geweckt vielen Dank hierfür.

Schönes Restaurant mit individuellen Gerichten, die außergewöhnlich gut schmecken. Der Service ist hervorragend und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Das Ambiente im Inneren ist sehr schön, draußen kommt es darauf an ob man es mag an der Straße zu sitzen, die für Berlin vermutlich eher ruhig gelegen ist. Vielen Dank für den angenehmen Abend.

bass ist immer einen Besuch wert, so z.B. zur Kohl und Pinkelzeit. Nicht weit vom Kudamm gelegen aber keinesfalls abgehoben.

I like this place. They had a hard task surfing a very large group of two tables. But it seemed like they were working hard and the food is good so I would recommend it.

Spektakulär gut und dabei bescheiden im Auftreten. Die Speisen wirken auf den ersten Blick einfach, aber wenn man reinbeißt - whow! Selbst der Kaffee ist klasse.

Het eten was geweldig ! Alles was zeer smaakvol. Vanaf het brood( met komijn), de asperges( precies goed gekookt) en kalfstartaar. Jammer dat we geen ruimte meer hadden voor de desserts. Deze zagen er ook bijzonder smaakvol uit. Zeker een aanrader dit restaurant!

I've lived in Geemany for almost 3 years however it was my first time trying 'traditional' Kartoffelsalat! Its a beautiful restaurant I loved the interior. What I had? - Kartoffelsalat und Schnitzel - Dessert Apple rings und vanilla ice It was a delicious meal, also generous serving. Will I try again? Yes sure my friends and I had a good time.

Hervorragendes Essen und klasse Ambiente laden zum verweilen ein. Leider haben wir es nicht zum Dessert geschafft, da die vorherigen Gerichte uns papp-satt gemacht haben 😊

Sehr gute Küche, alles hausgemacht, sogar das Brot. Das Angebot sticht aus dem üblichen heraus. Auch sehr zu empfehlen, die hausgemachten Liköre. Der Eierlikör ist super lecker und ein schönes Dessert.

Schnörkellose, aber ordentlich veredelte Wirtshausküche mit individueller Note zu kleinen Preisen Das „Bass“ liegt zwischen der Bushaltestelle Olivaer Platz (3 Gehminuten) und der U-Bahn-Station Adenauerplatz (4 Gehminuten), sodass es auch mit den Öffentlichen sehr gut zu erreichen ist. Das internationale Publikum stammt aus allen Gesellschaftsschichten und Altersgruppen. Das sorgt zusammen mit der schlichten, aber geschmackvollen Einrichtung für eine entspannte und ungezwungene Atmosphäre. Zu meinem Wohlbefinden hat allerdings vor allem der ausgezeichnete Service beigetragen. Angefangen von der herzlichen Begrüßung, über die stets aufmerksame Betreuung während meines Aufenthalts, bis zur freundlichen Verabschiedung gab es an der Bedienung rein gar nichts zu beanstanden. Die badisch geprägte Küche widersetzt sich nicht kulinarischen Einflüssen aus dem benachbarten Schwaben und bietet zudem sowohl klassische als auch moderne deutsche und cross-over Gerichte, die man in einer sehr umfangreichen Speisekarte zu Preisen findet, bei denen man sich fast schon finanzielle Sorgen um den Wirt machen muss. Wer nicht à la carte bestellen möchte, kann sich auch für ein Menü mit drei oder vier Gängen entscheiden. Insgesamt sollte es zumindest für Carnivoren kein Problem darstellen, in dem umfassenden Angebot etwas zu finden. Die Auswahl an offenen ausschließlich badischen Weinen ist überschaubar, aber auch ausreichend. Schön, dass es neben 0,1l-Gläsern auch noch echte Viertel gibt, die so viel kosten, wie in anderen Berliner Lokalen der Deziliter. Auch das Sortiment an Bieren aus dem Hause Störtebeker dürfte keine Wünsche offenlassen, zumal dem Gerstensaft eine eigene Karte gewidmet wird, die ich aber nicht angefordert habe, weil ich schon bei der Reservierung im Internet das Vier-Gänge-Menü mit Weinbegleitung für 58,50 € bestellt hatte. Wohlgemerkt, dabei handelte es ich um den Gesamtpreis für Essen (36,00 €) und Wein (22,50 €). Zum Einstand wurde sehr schmackhaftes Knäcke- und Vollkornbrot mit einem hausgemachten Aufstrich serviert, erfreulicherweise in verzehrbarer Menge. Als Vorspeise gab es „Forellentatar mit Kürbis und Quark“, das nicht so ganz meinen Erwartungen entsprach, weil ich mit einem haschierten und lediglich roh marinierten Fisch gerechnet hatte. Die Konsistenz erschien mir deshalb zu stark verdichtet. Außerdem habe ich die gesamte Komposition als zu säurelastig empfunden. Die „Pastinakensuppe mit Dörrpflaume und Pumpernickel“ präsentierte sich demgegenüber ebenso rund wie weich und ermöglichte es allen Zutaten, sich geschmacklich ausdrucksvoll zu entfalten. Als Hauptgericht präsentierte sich die „Geschmorte Ochsenbacke mit Curry-Belugalinsen und Sellerie“ wirtshaustypisch deftig, wobei sich die zart gegarte Protagonistin und ihre Entourage mengenmäßig die Waage hielten und schon weitgehend miteinander verbunden waren. Lobenswert hervorzuheben ist, dass hier der Chef mutig zu Werke geht und nicht massentaugliche, sondern individuell abgeschmeckte Gerichte zubereitet, die seine Handschrift erkennen lassen. Allerdings war für mich auch bei der Hauptspeise der Säureanteil zu hoch. Das rustikale Dessert „Bühler Zwetschge, Streusel und Quarkschaum“ bildete den Abschluss eines insgesamt gelungenen Menüs, auch wenn mein subjektives Geschmacksempfinden nicht ganz demjenigen der Küche entsprochen hat. Die zu den einzelnen Gängen servierten Weine haben immer perfekt gepasst. Freilich sollte man bei dem Preis keine Spitzengewächse erwarten, aber ich habe jeden Schluck genossen. Bevor man Espresso und Rechnung bestellt, sollte man einen Blick in die Spirituosenabteilung der Karte werfen, wo sich diverse feine Brände und Geiste finden, die wiederum fast nichts kosten. Auch wenn mein Geschmack nicht ganz getroffen wurde, habe ich sehr gut und individuell zubereitete Speisen sowie einen schönen Abend genossen. Ich kann deshalb das „Bass“ schon wegen des einmaligen Preis-Leistungsverhältnisses guten Gewissens empfehlen.

Lors de notre séjour à Berlin, nous voulions déguster une bonne cuisine allemande. Notre choix s'est porté sur cet établissement. Bonne pioche. Accueillis chaleureusement par la serveuse, nous découvrons un lieu agréable avec des tables bien espacées. A la carte, des spécialités de cuisine allemande et scandinaves sont proposées. Nous avons commencé par les lamelles de filet de porc avec une sauce à l'ail des ours bien frais et délicieux. On poursuit avec la tranche panée de veau avec salade de pommes de terre, plat simple mais bien exécuté. On termine par le poisson blanc grillé sur peau servi avec un beurre blanc et asperges, cuisson parfaite et plat copieux. On accompagne les plats par d'excellentes bières de petites brasseries locales. Le service, très pro et souriant. Par contre très longue attente entre l'entrée et les plats principaux.(45 minutes). Bref, une belle adresse pour déguster une cuisine locale assez simple mais bien faite et savoureuse.
