Great little family-run restaurant with good German food. We'll gladly come again!

We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant, which I highly recommend. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I recommend trying the menu to sample everything. For dessert, the apple fritters sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon were divine!

An absolutely delightful couple who run the place offer excellent service and superb food. Very friendly and attentive. The venue is very simply and elegantly decorated. I would definitely recommend it for my anniversary or something similar. Of course, the entire meal was very good, but the veal tartare (which impressed me with its price) and the plum port wine sorbet, which I was able to try for free with my dessert (cold dog with almond milk ice cream, which was also excellent), deserve special mention! I'll be back!

Two gluten-free dishes are also available upon reservation. They even baked gluten-free bread specially. We were all very impressed by the delicious food and the friendly service. Great espresso!

Here, you can taste and see the love for food and everything that goes with it. Great cuisine, very good service. The bread dumplings are amazing, and the bass kaus is delicious. Bonus: Currently, they're serving a kind of "tapas" in bowls. A variety of delicacies. Incredibly good.

The best German cuisine in Berlin! I've never experienced Maultaschen, Königsberger Klopse, and Kalbststar like this before. They also offer seasonal dishes, and there's always something new. We always buy the homemade liqueurs for our relatives. We've been regulars for years!

I chose a German restaurant, booking it through The Fork with a 50% discount, which I didn't take advantage of because the reservation didn't include a discount (mysteries). It's not very crowded, and the dimly lit interior is, in my opinion, more suitable for drinking than dining. The menu is only in German. My son ordered a set menu (which is actually cheaper than individual dishes) and the others ordered individual dishes. The dinner in an empty restaurant is poorly managed; they only bring the first courses to those who chose the set menu and let the others watch until the main courses arrive. I find this unpleasant and rude; table management in a restaurant is important. Meat dishes are served with a generous side dish that's larger than the meat. In the case of pork, it's served with a typical German pasta dish that's filling, but the meat itself was three bites. Beers aren't on the menu; they're chosen from the brand's brochure, and they don't have a price. They reinvented a mozzarella and tomato dish (ordered by my wife, who wasn't convinced by the menu) in an unconvincing way, a sort of soup with pesto and melted mozzarella and ice in it. Personally, I think €27 for a cutlet is excessive, as is €6.50 for off-label water in a glass bottle they open for you, perhaps tap water.

The food is incredibly delicious. Even "simple" dishes always have a little something extra. The service is super friendly, helpful, and knows when you need something. The price/performance ratio is more than excellent. It's worth a visit. I always enjoy going there.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening! The value for money here is truly top-notch; you can tell that quality and freshness are paramount. We were particularly impressed by the small fish appetizers. The Störtebeker beer is a real highlight: several varieties, a pleasant change from the usual standard beers. The service was friendly, attentive, and fast. The outdoor seating in Berlin-Wilmersdorf is also wonderfully relaxed – a very pleasant atmosphere that perfectly rounded off the evening. Highly recommended; we'll definitely be back!

The restaurant offers traditional German dishes revisited with influences from all over the Teutonic region. The food is meticulously prepared, and the wine selection is excellent for Berlin. A special plus is the extremely courteous, cheerful, and helpful service. We took advantage of a discount with a popular restaurant booking app, but even without it, the price would have been completely in line with the offer. A delightful surprise, we'll definitely be back!

I was looking for a very traditional cuisine and I found them. The food was really good and the waitress was really kind to me and to my daughter. Super recommend

Personalized service from the housekeeper, and the owner personally cooks local specialties. Every dish is truly exquisite. There's even time for a quick chat. Every star is well deserved.

Die Einrichtung ist schlicht, ohne SchnickSchnack, jedoch nicht unpassend. Das Essen, wir hatten Labskaus und Königsberger Klöpse bestellt, war hervorragend. Auf den Punkt, lecker und frisch. Der Service war nicht gut. Unsere ehrliche wie höfliche Antwort, dass die 3 Nachspeisen auf der Karte nicht unseren Geschmacksnerv treffen, wurde mit einem schnippischen 'danke' quittiert. Auch sonst war wenig Professionalität im Service zu erkennen, es gehört eben mehr dazu, als 'was darf es sein' und 'ich bringe die Rechnung '. Ich war selbst 15 Jahre in der Gastronomie tätig.....Da muss noch dran gearbeitet werden, denn der Wohlfühlfaktor entscheidet im Zweifel, ob man wieder kommt - oder nicht.

Nach längerer Zeit waren wir mal wieder im Bass. Derzeit gab es für mich überraschend wenig Fisch auf der Karte. Der Spargel hatte wohl seine Position eingenommen. Gegessen haben wir zu viert das Tages Menü (ohne Nachtisch), das rundrum gelungen war, vom Heringstatar über eine sehr gute Spargelcremesuppe hin zu einer köstlichen mürben Lammkeule. Etwas enttäuschend war allein der offene Spätburgunder aus Baden. Der ist ein eher einfacher Bursche ist und dem badischen Rotwein keine große Ehre macht.

Hervorragende norddeutsche - badische Küche und leckere badische Weine. Das Lokal wird von einem Ehepaar geleitet, er kocht göttlich und sie ist für den Service verantwortlich. Alles ist stimmig, bei liebevoll zubereitetem Essen und dem äußerst freundlichem Service. Auch die Location ist sehr ansprechend und gut mit der U-Bahn zu erreichen.

MEGA! Looking for decent German food, we came across bass. We hadn't made a reservation and were lucky that there were still 2 places available. We had a Badisches Schäufele and Königsberger Kloppse. We were absolutely thrilled and had no idea that these essentially inconspicuous dishes would bring with them such an unexpected taste experience! We're coming back!

We were in bass a week ago. The food is delicious: the Wiener Schnitzel with warm potato salad is highly recommended, the Königsberger Klopse was also praised, as was the "Basskaus". The service was quick and friendly. You have to be lucky when looking for a parking space - if necessary, be patient, someone is always leaving. The prices are higher depending on the preferred city location.

Nice owners, good service and really delicious food. We were here at a private event two days ago and I was impressed by how they managed to put food of this high quality on the table for 50 people. Plus with different selection options. I am sure that you can have a very good meal here even without a major event.

We had a 6 people table dinner. The lady running the restaurant took my girlfriends order wrong ( same lady apologised and then fixed it ) and didn’t listen to my preferences in terms of drinks ( gin tonic with … ) At no point during the night did we get offered a refill of our drinks, a complementary dessert or any of the sorts. The strangest part of the night was getting water. Adding to the confusion we got offered a tiny container of water just enough for one person to drink, when specifically asked water for all. My tartare was underwhelming.

Eight of us ate there and a week later four of us. The food was brought to everyone at the same time and it tasted very good. Service nice, chef good, can only be recommended

We were here yesterday with friends based on a recommendation, for which we are very grateful. The service was incredibly friendly, attentive and accommodating. The food, German cuisine, surprising in its composition and super tasty. I had Matjes Tatar with beetroot as a starter, Basskaus as a main course and semolina with pistachio ice cream as a dessert. Everything is a real treat. And the ambience is also very nice! Thank you very much for the great evening! We would love to come back!

We had a delicious meal here last night. The menu is not overflowing and there are some very unusual delicacies. I had a three-course meal, the others at the table had dishes they had put together themselves. In the restaurant we had chef service and the chef (=boss) came at the end and asked if we liked it. Very classy! All prices were moderate and the portions were generous. We are delighted with our “discovery” of this restaurant. Delicious food, attentive and friendly service, very nice atmosphere, highly recommended.

Kleines familiengeführtes Restaurant mit außergewöhnlichem Konzept. Kleine Karte mit Neuinterpretationen badischer und Ostsee-Küche mit regionalen, ausgezeichneten Produkten samt spezifischer Getränkeauswahl. Man bekommt die volle Störtebecker-Palette! Unbedingt probieren: Bass-Kaus (von Labskaus, aber viel edler). Und danach einen Doppel-Kümmel oder ein Zibärtle. Duftes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die Chefin serviert selber.

We've wanted to go there for a while and now that we've made it, we're very happy to have been here. The service is extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is impeccably crafted and the dishes are so much German cuisine that you can use them as a benchmark for regional restaurants, but so unusual in their design that the restaurant clearly stands out from others. The guest room is attractive, cozy and inviting, but it doesn't look like you've seen it several times before. We would love to come back and look forward to our next visit!

I was really impressed with my experience at this restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing dinner with friends or a special evening. The menu is full of options, with well-prepared dishes and very fresh ingredients. I tried several courses and each dish was a perfect combination of flavors and impeccable presentation. The service was exceptional: the staff is kind, attentive and always ready to give excellent advice on dishes. All in a very peaceful atmosphere. In summary, a place I highly recommend to anyone looking for good food.

Very friendly atmosphere in the restaurant, you instantly feel welcomed by Anja who as co-owner is running the service. Her husband Bernd does magic in the kitchen with fresh produce and a wonderful selection of traditional yet modern interpretation of German food from the North and the South.

Dined here last week very friendly good service and excellent food. The photos in other reviews here show the quality of their offering. I would highly recommend a visit. The toilets were clean too. One comment on a constructive note which applies to your competition too is please try to go the extra mile for vegetarian people.

This is a family restaurant operated by a couple, which the husband cooks and his wife submit. The service is excellent. The food is delicious and served good taste while giving explanations. The composition of the menu and the origin of the products used are understandable and therefore receive my full recognition. The menu is not overloaded, so you can say: "Freshness is king"! Nice pub with a large selection of good beers (many of which are also non-alcoholic). The Maultaschen we ate were quite decent and the filling was definitely not a factory product. By Berlin standards it was quite decent, although the spoiled Baden palate still sees room for improvement.

Sie sind sehr bemüht, nur fehlt es an den Grundpfeilern. Durch die Unterbesetzung im Service , hat man nicht das Gefühl es wird sich aufmerksam gekümmert, sondern mehr, dass der Service ein reiner Bringdienst ist. Digitale Werbetafel tragen leider auch nicht zur Gemütlichkeit bei. Das Essen war in Ordnung, auch wenn es hart an der Säure und am Salz war. Generell ist die Idee etwas Nordic cuisine nach Berlin zu bringen, eine schöne Idee, sie müsste nur mit mehr liebe und klareren commitment umgesetzt werden.

Prima restaurant met een Duitse keuken. Vriendelijke bediening en een goede kwaliteit-prijsverhouding. Er is ook een 3- en 4-gangen seizoenmenu al was 1 keuze vervangen door een minder aantrekkelijke variant waardoor we geen 4-gangen hebben genomen. Al met al een goede plek om te eten in Berlijn.

Wir wurden nach einem schönen Tag in Berlin mit einem tollen Abendessen verwöhnt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Le restaurant est très agréable. Décoration claire et apurée il y meme deux cabines de plage. Le service est très bien. Le chef une fois terminé en cuisine (ferme à 21h30) vient même en salle aider. Les plats ne sont pas nombreux à la carte mais très bien exécutés. Il s’agit de plats traditionnels de la cuisine allemande revisités et totalement et modernisée notamment en terme d’assaisonnement ou de présentation du produit. Nous avons testé la saucisse au choix en entrée et en plats la schnitzel et les pâtes aux fromages. C’était excellent. Portion généreuse et addition plutôt douce pour la qualité. Il vaut mieux réserver en amont mais comme pour tout à Berlin.

One of the best restaurants when it comes to german cuisine. Located in the western part of Berlin, the restaurant offers the delights of german delicacies. The restaurant is decorated simple yet very elega t and gives a positive vibe of how mere orderliness and simplicity can bring the elegance triggering pleasantness. Menu items are limited which is good as the focus to prepare them well is not distributed too much. The food was tasty and we really enjoyed it. The lady who served us was very friendly and attended us with care. Definitely recommendable and deserves a revisit.
