Mega good quality at a very good price-performance ratio in Munich I go there often and it is highly recommended

The food is very, very tasty, I was absolutely positively surprised by it and would come back again and again. The service is nice and the ambience creates a cozy atmosphere.

Nice place. The food is ordinary, the portions are large. We dined at this restaurant on Saturday and it was not noisy inside.

The food is good. However, for dishes with sauerkraut during Oktoberfest, the sauerkraut would be omitted! Reason for request: "The food would have been adapted to the clientele at that time (Wiesn = Oktoberfest). A bit incomprehensible. The service is a bit superficial but friendly. The ambience is a bit simple. In general the place is OK. Enjoy your meal and have a nice stay!

Very nice, relaxed, informal restaurant close to the train station. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English which was appreciated. Would happily revisit.

Everything here is just super warm and coordinated with a great time. Even the bar stools here are covered with the finest Bavarian loden and you just feel comfortable. Beer poured perfectly.

The bar looks cozy, but I thought the quality of the food not great according to the price. Meat was a bit chewy and the potatoes seemed to be microwaved. I think (hope) there are better Bavarian pubfood to be found in München.

“special prices” and other offers for the Oktoberfest

Unfortunately at Oktoberfest there is only very little choice at exorbitant prices…

Go to literally any other bar on this street. The bartenders cannot serve you if you're staying at this establishment. And the service staff only responds to yelling, and even then will get your order wrong and then ask other tables if they want it.

I found this Bavarian restaurant on Google Maps. I was lucky enough to eat in this restaurant without making a reservation. Sausage with sauerkraut, crispy pork shoulder and Gillette fried pork chop. Unfortunately, there was no chocolate cake that day. What a pity. For dessert, we had warm chocolate cake with ice-cream. The food and the beautiful waiters were great, and the environment was first-class.

I searched for this restaurant on Google Maps. I originally had to make a reservation, but in the end we were summoned for the three of us. The beautiful waitress was friendly and the food was very delicious. It is a restaurant worth recommending.

Enjoyable Bavarian fare in a quieter spot just a short walk from the hauptbahnhof and on way to the Octoberfest grounds. Nice outdoor seating, friendly service. Prices a tad under some of those in the main CBD.

An old style pub with modern staff. Old, rustic wooden furnishings and you can also sit outside. The food is good and at normal prices, there is good Augustiner beer in several varieties. Mostly quite professional waitresses, but not so traditional, rather young, tattooed. In any case, extremely friendly. Highly recommended

Big disappointment! Low quality food, so many positive comments are not understood. We ordered the Bavarian Cold platter and one of the cold cuts was soggy. It smelled bad! The only good thing is the attentive and friendly service. Expensive for what they offer.

Während unseres Urlaubes haben wir noch einige Tage in München verbracht. Dabei sind wir auf dieses wunderbare Restaurant gestoßen. Ein Service, der keine Wünsche offen lässt, super freundlich und zuvorkommend ist. Die Mahlzeiten sind ein Traum. Ich habe mich, wie so oft im Urlaub, einfach vom Service eine Mahlzeit und die Getränke empfehlen lassen, bei auch noch so so guten und kleinen Karten bin ich dennoch überfordert. Bereut habe ich es nicht. Das "Scheuffele" (hoffentlich korrekt geschrieben) ist sehr empfehlenswert, genauso die Käsespätzle. Zum Schluss noch zwei Cappus, und der Tag war perfekt. Wir empfehlen sehr gerne weiter. - Wurde auch schon gemacht :-)

Typical place, away from the hustle and bustle of the center. The food was good and the portions were generous.

Half a glass of beer for 4.50 was foam, a schnitzel for 27 euros was no different than a schnitzel for 18 euros. I won't come here a second time. No air conditioning

We stayed in nearby Munich for a few days and the good reviews didn't disappoint! The landlord is rustic in Bavarian style (you have to like it) and really nice and attentive. We got a table outside without a reservation. Munich beer is a given, as are the Bavarian dishes. My Schäufele was so excellent - really, really good. And the portions are also generous, the price-performance ratio is great! Nice restaurant on a side street, I can fully recommend it!

+1 on the Schäufele (Crispy pork shoulder), roasted to a crisp but falls off the bone. Comes with a sumptuous gravy and traditional coleslaw for a tangy contrast, with a lager to wash it down what more could you want?

Horrible reception from the "manager". It takes a long time to serve and after writing down the starters and dishes, they brought the drinks and nothing else. After 45 minutes he came to apologize saying he forgot to place the orders in the kitchen!! We left.

Recently returned from a month in Germany. The schnitzel here at Zur Festwiese was the very best of 4 schnitzel meals during our trip.Schnitzel was butter soft and delicious. Absolutely make the effort to eat here. Well worth it.

We went to the bar and asked for a place for two and were shown to a table. After 30 minutes there was a menu and another 20 minutes later you were finally asked if you wanted something. No goodbye was said. Can't recommend this place.

Had traditional Bavarian food (spätzle) and German beer! It was delicious and a nice traditional vibe.

We had Obazda as a starter and a very tasty schnitzel with potato salad as a main course and goulash with absolutely delicious spaetzle! Thank you very much for the great service!

This place serves traditional Bavarian fayre. I've frequented another over on a different street which was packed the first night (and I was advised to make a reservation for the successive night if I wanted a table) so I reserved a place here, but found it wasn't as busy when I approached. The seats were hard wooden benches with a fairly deflated cushion, not greatly comfortable (and probably discourages staying for much longer) but I didn't visit for comfort but for eating. They had English menus; I'd looked up some of the photos already and pointed to one - thinking it was the "pork cutlet breaded in brewer's grains" - but it seems that was an older dish they no longer served. I went for this cutlet anyway, and it resembled schnitzel (two flattened boneless pork steaks in breadcrumbs), served with chips and a slice of lemon. I found it crispy and crunchy, but quite dry - I had senf (mustard) then ketchup but it could have done with some sauce or veg to break it up... and got jealous when a table over received some gravy just when I was finishing up! It worked as an evening meal, but may consider something less dry next time.

Located near the hotels surrounding the train station, this was a quick walk from our hotel. The staff was friendly and had menus available in English as well as German. We ordered a few appetizers and a Schaufele. Everything was delicious, especially the Bavarian Cream Cheese and dumpling trio! The servings were huge and I wish we could have finished them, but we just weren’t up to the task. Highly recommend!

Actually deserves 0 stars. Worst dining experience ever!!!!! Miserable service! You don't get what you order. Ordered an Aperol Spritz: Answer: “we don’t have it”. The neighboring table gets one Aperol after the other. After asking several times why this is the case: no answer and just arrogant silence. Never again!!!!

Rustically furnished the way I liked it and a super good service where you are taken care of. The food was very good and there is a very good selection of Bavarian German cuisine that I recommend to everyone

We had a nice spontaneous stay in the restaurant. The schnitzel and cheese spaetzle were very tasty and well prepared. The service was appropriately friendly, discreet and not intrusive.

The restaurant is a bit inconspicuous from the outside, but inside it is a real Bavarian inn with a great ambience. The menu is small but nice and I ate the best Schäufele ever there. My companions were also thrilled. The prices are ok for Munich standards. After initially being reserved, the host was very nice and the waiter at the table was great. Conclusion: I will definitely eat here again.

Uninteresting cuisine. Side salad bathed in sauce. Not great and a little expensive for what it is. The menu is very limited in choice and the white wine infamous.

As tourists from Indonesia . We walk from the station and pass this restaurant by. We decided to try . As a German style restaurant, it delivered well. Although there might be some changes in the menu. For us tourists, anything to try! . The Helles beer was amazing. Very smooth and liberating. Highly recommended . The asparagus cream soup was soup of the day. It was okay. Tastes better in a cold day . The pork schnitzel came in a pretty big portion. It is good as expected. Potato salad also delicious tho we couldnt finish . Our favorite dish was surprisingly the Bavarian mac & cheese. A simple dish, yet very comforting. I thought we just loved the cheese! . Hospitality is top notch. The young lady with the white shirt was very friendly and helpful . Keep up the good work!

There is really delicious Bavarian cuisine here. The ribs and the bread dumplings with mushrooms were very tasty. The black pudding with mashed potatoes is also highly recommended! Large dishes are not cheap, but the quality is really good.

Quaint little restaurant that isn't in the middle of the hustle and bustle. You have to want to go here because it is not on the usual tourist route. But I would classify it as a tip. The restaurant is near the Theresienwiese. We received a very friendly welcome, even without a reservation (but it is recommended). After a short time the landlord came to terms with us and managed to find two seats for us. We were rewarded with a delicious Schäufele and an equally good pomace schnitzel. Price/performance okay and the service was super nice. Would recommend it to others at any time and would come back ourselves. Thank you for a nice evening.

Eenvoudig restaurant met bescheiden kaart. Maar wat er op de kaart stond zag er bijzonder goed uit. De tafel naast ons had verschillende gerechten besteld. Een lust voor het oog. Onze bestelling een Wiener kalfsschnitzel met gebakken aardappeltjes en een geitenkaas salade met nog een paar bijgerechten zagen er ook voortreffelijk uit en smaakte zo mogelijk nog beter. We zijn nog een paar dagen in de stad en gaan proberen nog een keer terug te komen.

Authentic Bavarian dishes in a quaint bustling location. Walking distance from Octoberfest, 15min from munchen hbf train station and six min walking if you are staying at the residence inn central. Just a traditional location that is a must see for visitors and locals. You feel at home with some great beer and delicious food.... We adored the Mac and cheese and the beef ribs. Please stop by and you can make open table reservations online to help guarantee a seat in peak hours

Rustic Bavarian inn with a beer garden. Fair prices, delicious food! Very good service! Perfect location for an evening with friends.

We are constantly surprised by German dumplings. The spinach dumplings were rocking and the soup (?) was light yet buttery rich like a parmigiano “water” one would find in a fine dining establishment. Spinach, beetroot and cheese dumplings, all with different tastes and textures but the spinach was our fav. The Käsespätzle, written as Bavarian Mac & Cheese had a cheesy complexity only achievable thru probably the local alpine cheeses here. Crispy onions with Mac and cheese are a match made in heaven and it comes with a side salad. Add some of the salad dressing to the Mac and cheese to give it an acidity boost and you will be in flavour heaven. The braised ox cheeks were perfectly cooked, not too fall apart soft and not too hard. Sliceable with enough texture to bite into as it falls apart. The bread dumplings weren’t our cup of tea but it makes sense to use it as a trencher for all the sauce. We were too full at this point to appreciate it. Service was again brisk and friendly. The server’s efficiency in single handedly serving all customers for the early dinner sitting is impressive.

The food is amazing, we had the Schäufele, schnitzel fries and the pumpkin quiche, everything was really excellent. Service was lightning fast and courteous, very nicely done inn. We will be back!

Quaint location with a good beer selection and good food! Discovered spontaneously, reserved spontaneously and found it to be very good. We had the “Krosse Schäufele” and it was really good! Good piece of meat that was super tender with a very crispy and spicy crust. There were also two different dumplings and coleslaw. The food was at the table very quickly and also very hot - and above all very tasty! Priced at €22, it's perhaps €2-3 too much for the fact that it has more of an upscale pub feel, but still within the range for the quality and taste! You will be served very well and, above all, full!
