Bamberger Haus in München

Very unfriendly service, foreign colleagues were harshly questioned about why they didn't tip (unfortunately, this isn't normal in every culture). The food was mediocre, but extremely expensive. Backhendel = 2 chicken wings with a small, boring salad; you expect more. Reservations must be made well in advance; after the 8th attempt, after 2 years, it finally worked.

I'm a huge fan of the Bamberger Haus. Whether in the beer garden or the restaurant, the food is absolutely delicious! In the summer, the large terrace is a lovely place to sit. The service is very friendly. I can also recommend it for parties!

We went to Bamberger Haus on a cold but sunny winter Saturday. It was during carnival holidays in Munich, so it was quite empty. But we're told that it is usually fuller. This is a very typical Baviera restaurant. The place was cozy and the service friendly. We were all very happy with the dishes we ordered, just the Goulash was rated medium. If you want to order the kaiserschmarrn (a typical desert) you'll have to count with a 40 minute wait.

Didn't come to eat because it wasn't paid attention to. We are not local and were near BMW that day and wanted something to eat later in the evening, reviews seemed good and was only 4 minutes from our location. It was very difficult to find the entrance - impossible, very confusing area, after 7 minutes of looking for the entrance, we were in and waited as the sign asked for us to be seated, nothing happened for several minutes, the lady at the bar saw us several times but just looked stupid. After standing around for 3 minutes as ordered and not being picked up, we left again. Nothing can be said about the food because we didn't get anything or were ignored.

We were here on Saturday from 5:30 p.m. on the recommendation of a friend from Munich - an absolute recommendation! There are some curling rinks and a concession stand outside. Inside the restaurant there is a very nice ambience, not a rustic brewery atmosphere, you sit very comfortably at beautiful wooden tables in front of elegant paneled walls under a historical ceiling. The service was extremely friendly, personable and attentive - a real enjoyable evening! The menu and wine list has a focus on Austria and includes all the classics. To start we had Augustinerbräu from Munich, then we decided on boiled beef and veal cream roast, and for dessert warm homemade apricot dumplings. Everything was excellent, the wine accompaniment was a Viennese mixed set. We actually wanted to go to the Ludovico Einaudi concert in the Olympiahalle - but since we felt so comfortable in the Bamberg house, we let the tickets expire and stayed until 11 p.m.! The freshly sliced ​​bacon was accompanied by a really outstanding cheese plate, along with a bottle of Bründlmayer sparkling wine, and the crowning glory was a Kaiserschmarrn. Consistently great service, excellent food and a very pleasant environment. The location on the edge of Luitpold Park invites you to visit the beer garden in spring and summer. Simply beautiful here!

We were there for a company dinner. Really great location with nice service. Unfortunately, in the group of almost 20 people, we were only offered the option of soup, delicacies (roast pork and duck) and dessert for the price of €48.50. Unfortunately the quality wasn't right for the price! The duck was far too dry and two pots of 500ml sauce were brought for almost 20 people. If you didn't get any of it at first, you either had to eat the dumplings and dry duck as is or wait 10 minutes until the food got cold. Unfortunately, the vegan panna cotta had nothing to do with its namesake and the consistency was more reminiscent of jelly. To say around €10 for three different creams in a mason jar (including the aforementioned panna cotta) is a bit excessive. In total, the cost for soup, roast pork, some dry duck and a dessert like from a large restaurant with an espresso and a beer was €44.80.

We visited the Bamberg House again as part of the “eating class”. This time we celebrated our 25th anniversary; We visited there two years ago and once again we were not disappointed. You can see what was on offer on the menu below, as well as the wines on offer. The restaurant was full to capacity and the kitchen once again brought a very good menu to the table. The starter was outstanding, a swordfish ceviche (that is raw fish marinated with lemon juice), sliced ​​very thinly, extremely fresh, served with celery, peeled radishes and a convincing parsley pesto. Everything is finely tuned, nothing overwhelms each other: simply good. After the fine leek cream soup came the absolute high flyer of the evening for me, the baked basil risotto balls with pumpkin ragout. The chef really did his magic here; the balls were a real surprise, perfectly baked, not greasy and the basil risotto was a real revelation. The main course: the braised veal steak; Here's a slight criticism: the meat, really well seasoned and delicately complemented by savoy cabbage, mashed potatoes and blueberry sauce, was unfortunately a bit too dry, tasted good, but - as I said - not as juicy as I'm used to from a good veal. I protect the kitchen: a lot of guests, a lot of work and you can sometimes overlook the optimal cooking point for the meat. What I liked at the end: the buttery and really tender semolina flammery. A classic in perfection. The wines: I and my wife enjoyed them; I think they fit well. A word about service: We were served perfectly, everyone was very, very friendly and attentive! Unfortunately, you don't find that very often anymore, but the staff at BAMBERGER is great! CONCLUSION: A wonderful evening with a fantastic menu in a beautiful atmosphere with very nice staff! We visited the restaurant as part of the “Ess-Klasse” (a campaign run by the evening newspaper together with the Rindchen wine shop). The restaurant, located on the edge of the Luitpold Park in Munich-Schwabing, is a neo-baroque building, built in 1912. A high, almost square dining room is crowned by a painted stucco-decorated ceiling; so a very nice atmosphere. On the evening in question, every seat was occupied and our expectations were not set too high due to the demands on the kitchen. But the chefs made every effort (see menu): Be it the starter, the outstanding Jerusalem artichoke soup and the perfectly successful halibut; Everything is the finest, very well seasoned, with outstanding ingredients. The Böfflamot alone deserves a slight criticism. In our opinion, the really good-tasting meat would have needed more cooking time; it was pretty robust in the bite. A flat shoulder, which is basically used here, needs a very long cooking time, although the whole thing should not bubble but simmer. Then it will be buttery tender. But that is criticism at a high level and is probably due to the fact that the kitchen staff were really challenged. Dessert was again a more than conciliatory conclusion. A quick word about the wines: We really enjoyed the 2020 Riesling&Gewürztraminer from Edelberg and the 2021 Auxerrois from Frieden-Berg. The other wines didn't convince us quite as much; But here the taste lies in the palate of the connoisseur.

An economy of outstanding very good quality. Everything is right here: very tasty food, a great ambience and a very nice, courteous and attentive staff. Outside there is a beautiful curling range and a cozy hut for your physical well-being. I would love to come back!

We dined for the third time (this event is once a year) as part of the dining class (5 course menu with wine accompaniment). As always, excellent dishes, good service and everything in a pleasant atmosphere. A recommendation.

We went to Orely's magic performance with a 3-course menu. The magic show was great, but unfortunately the food was small portions, so we had to go to MacDonalds afterwards.

Went to Salettl for coffee and cake today. It was extremely loud and therefore very uncomfortable. The coffee was good. We ordered apple strudel. Once with vanilla sauce and cream and once plain without sauce and cream. We were very confused about the bill. For 1 piece. (approx. 1cm thick) Apple strudel without anything to go with it, we felt that paying €9.50 was extremely overpriced. The waitress then said there was only one price (some people want it with everything. Some people want it without). For us it was a unique visit.

Food is good, very traditional but with a good level of refinement. The Kaiserschmarrn is delicious! I also need to highlight the service. Waiters are super competent and friendly. And regarding the Ambience, the house is quite pretty and the Biergarten outside is one of the most pleasant in Munich. Easy recommendation, both in Winter and in Summer.

Nice ambience and great service. Unfortunately, the dining class menu fell somewhat short of expectations: some wines didn't go well with the dish (Riesling) or were poor (Rosé). The food was very solidly cooked and nicely presented, but unfortunately not outstanding. The strength of the cuisine is definitely veal meatballs, goulash or schnitzel. I would order that next time.

Always worth a visit. Most recently in winter with mulled wine/mulled aperol and the 6 curling rinks (also just to watch). If it is too cold you can retreat to one of the many gondolas.

Wir haben das Ess-Klasse-Menü bestellt und wurden sehr positiv von der kreativen und geschmacklich hervorragenden Qualität der Speisen überrascht. Lediglich beim geschmorten Kalbsmeiserl hätten wir uns das Fleisch ein wenig zarter gewünscht. Die begleitenden Weine konnten nur in zwei Fällen der Qualität des Essens paroli bieten: der feinherbe Riesling vom Muschelkalk , Fogt, Rheinhessen und der Weißburgunder von Kurtatsch (bester Wein des Menüs) überzeugten.

Absolutely nice service and a beautiful ambience (when it's snowy and wintry) almost compensate for the extremely expensive train rental. A suggestion for improvement would be to spontaneously leave it open longer on real winter evenings in order to achieve a better price-performance ratio.

We were here today with 70-80 people for the summer party. We had made reservations in the beer garden. For 10 people there was a snack board (see photo) and 10 small pretzels (1.90 each), which was charged at 150 euros. When I asked whether the amount of food was disproportionate to the money charged, the manager explained to me that this was correct and that setting up, washing dishes, etc. also cost. Conclusion: Don't go to this rip-off shop again!

The food is good. The service is friendly, but there are sometimes significant waiting times. The ambience is nice. Reservations are easy online for regular restaurants. You can now inquire about the events online. There used to be problems and ambiguities (you were also directed to Open Table, although reservation requests were only possible by email, which was nowhere to be found at the time, at least for the events relevant to me, and led to incorrect reservations). For special events you have to send around a somewhat complicated form with credit card details by email. It wasn't possible to make a reservation by phone. Which of course I understand at a wedding etc., with a meal for two that is no more expensive than in a normal restaurant, but I find it very inconvenient. Overall, good experiences on site. But dealing with critical online reviews is bad. Sometimes unfriendly and reproachful. Points of criticism are believed to be invented or solely due to the guest's inability to read the website. It really doesn't have to be this way.

Very good food and there are curling rinks

Wir waren als Familie am 2. Weihnachtstag zum Mittagessen hier. Die Location kannten wir bereits und sie ist wunderschön. Der Service an diesem Tag war hervorragend. Die beiden Damen und der Herr waren sehr aufmerksam, unheimlich freundlich und offen. Leider hat das Essen dieses Level nicht erreicht. Die Vorspeisensuppen waren sehr gut. Die Hauptgerichte ließen dann aber etwas zu wünschen übrig. Das Wiener Backhendl war allein von der Portion her sehr überschaubar, zudem war das Fleisch sehr trocken. Da halfen auch die Preiselbeeeren nicht. Auch die Anrichte in kleinen Schüsseln auf einem Holzbrett waren zum Essen sehr unvorteilhaft, gerade wenn man selbst nicht so groß ist. Da wäre ein Teller hilfreich gewesen. Der Wildschweinrücken war etwas zäh und auch hier die Portion eher klein. Da stimmte da Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ebenfalls nicht. Man macht mit einem Besuch im Bamberger haus sicher nichts falsch, sollte aber die Erwartungen nicht allzu hoch schrauben.

Very cute beer garden. Had a nice cold beer on a hot summer day. Also had their pretzels. I enjoyed sitting out in the beer garden with everybody else. Ambience was really nice.

We had a family celebration there and unfortunately the food was nothing special. Because we were a group, we were only given a very small menu to choose from and nothing that would suit Christmas - no duck, no goose, no game. The onion roast that 5 guests ate was unfortunately very tough - the fish dish was also just ok. Prices were rather high - plates were also nicely prepared - but unfortunately it didn't taste that good. Ambience very nice. Waiting time over an hour - that was too long.

The “beer garden” is also worth a visit in winter, with several curling lanes you can also keep warm as an alternative or with mulled wine ;)

Our company's Christmas party was there, the service was good, the ambience was nice but the food was poor. We employees asked us weeks in advance about the food (meat or vegetarian, one dish to choose from), which consisted of a lot of convenience food and was ok depending on your budget, but despite having ordered it in advance it was served cold to lukewarm I don't think it's possible, so only three stars.

The Bambergerhaus is surrounded by a green park, which creates a romantic and relaxed atmosphere - perfect for outdoor couple and family photos. Another highlight is the kitchen: the homemade delicacies delighted both the bride and groom and the guests. Freshly prepared and creatively presented, the food here is not only a pleasure in terms of taste, but also a visual highlight. We had specifically made a reservation for goose dinner for 7 people at lunchtime at the fair. Almost all the tables in the restaurant were occupied, which is to be expected when you advertise Kirchweih goose food. After 45 minutes we asked at the bar if we could order drinks. The same thing happens when eating. After 1.5 hours we were still sitting at the empty table. Of course the goose was over, we ordered from the normal menu. 3 of us had duck that was so dry that almost everything was left lying around. The second star goes to the fact that the visibly overwhelmed service staff offered to take a dish off the bill when they saw the bone-dry duck. We didn't want that, but it was a nice gesture. In January we planned a company event with 60 people in the really beautiful rooms. We don't want to imagine what it would taste like when the chef is responsible for 60 people who want to eat at the same time and would like to go somewhere else. Addition to management's answer: I don't know how your restaurant operates, so I can't say where in the process the problem was. But you can be sure that the times mentioned are correct. Many other reviews show that you can expect a pretty decent standard on normal days. But if you accept reservations for a church fair goose dinner on a Sunday, then run out of goose, but instead serve ducks that are so dry that the staff offers to take a dish off the bill and takes an excessively long time, you can do that as a manager accept it without accusing the guests of lying and exaggerating. Not good style. I would be happy to answer your question about the other meals: it was onion roast with fried potatoes and schnitzel. Warm and not burnt, everything came at the same time. So without errors. Sorry, I didn't know you liked being praised for this.

Kirchweih. I ordered the duck. A disappointment, there was a gray leg lying lost on the plate; I was expecting something crunchy. Red cabbage and dumplings were good, but couldn't save the whole thing. Too bad. Was used to better things from the house.

Hervorragende (österreichische Küche) , wirklich außergewöhnlich gut, preislich voll und ganz angemessen, freundliche Bedienung, jedoch nicht mehr ganz aufmerksam, wenn das Haus voll ist, gute Lage am Luitpoldpark mit Parkplätzen, übersichtliche Karte, gute Weine, auch sehr schön aufbereitete Vor- und Nachspeisen. It's a shame that there are no vegan options, but that's one thing and I didn't expect it from the menu. But the fact that when you ask for a milk alternative at the café you only get a derogatory comment is a reason for me not to come back. We had an after-event from a research conference there. A real gem in Munich. Nice ambience and beer garden in a special location. The restaurant is located in the middle of the park and is best reached on foot. Anyone looking for a Bavarian ambience for special occasions is definitely in good hands here. Only the service seemed a bit overwhelmed given the high number of conference guests.

I just wanted to know where I could get a coffee and where there was seating. A simple, clear answer like “up on the terrace” or “across the street” would have been much more helpful. Having trained in the restaurant industry myself, I understand that there are good days and bad days. But if a guest politely points out that the answer was unfriendly, you should respond professionally. It doesn't have to be an apology, but the annoyed nod and condescending grin only made the situation worse. Such behavior reflects poorly on the entire company and the owners. It is important that in the catering industry you are not only technically good, but also treat your guests with respect. Luckily, the other employees in the beer garden area made up for it - they were friendly and attentive. Nevertheless, this first, negative impression remains, and that's just a shame because it spoils the overall impression.
