I'm sorry that a more than decent hotel (plaza) recommends this restaurant! I can confirm that the clerk is rude. I had sausage with sauerkraut (this dish is okay), my daughter had roast beef with potatoes: the potatoes were black (!), meaning burned, and the meat wasn't roast beef, but a somewhat tough steak. We won't be returning.

A typical Bavarian garden restaurant. The owner is a 1860 Munich fan. Unfortunately, the food is inconsistent. Sometimes it's solid, home-style cooking, and other times it's not worth the money. For example, one evening we had a Wiener Schnitzel that wasn't freshly fried, but just reheated in a pan and was therefore slightly burnt. It tasted of old grease. The accompanying fried potatoes were nothing special. The service wasn't exactly friendly either.

The service was incredibly unfriendly, rude, and disrespectful – we were practically yelled at for completely normal actions like ordering beer or asking about our food. A visit here feels like a punishment instead of a relaxed pub experience. People like that have no place in the hospitality industry. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this place – I will definitely never go back.

Bavarian allotment gardens in the style of the 1860s.

This place is surprising. In a neighborhood of modern apartment buildings, at the end of a small path, you'll find a traditional Bavarian-style house with a lovely garden and terrace, and inside, a warm, simple, and typical atmosphere. They serve excellent homemade regional dishes with local beer.

A quaint garden restaurant, somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle. You get the feeling everyone knows everyone here, which is unusual for a big city. It serves delicious Bavarian cuisine, freshly tapped beer, and Rudi, the butcher himself, is in the kitchen.

The food was really good and nicely presented! Despite the crowds (all the tables were occupied), the atmosphere was very relaxed and cozy! It's a bit hidden, so I think it's a little insider tip if you're staying nearby, like in a hotel or similar.

The ambiance was traditional! We had the roast pork and the Wiener schnitzel. The roast pork was good, but the Wiener schnitzel was burnt on one side. We complained and (accompanied by a grumpy waitress) we got a new one. Unfortunately, this one wasn't much better. We would only recommend it with reservations.

Unassumingly located in a garden setting, we landed here with a little help from Google while searching for delicious food. The service is unique but very friendly, and the food was excellent value for money. We'll be back when we're in Munich again!

The nearby McDonald's would have been a better option. Being from Austria, we're spoiled for choice when it comes to good food. Here, I was sold rotten meat as roast pork.

A lovely, simple restaurant located within a garden colony with a beer garden feel. The location is a bit off the beaten track, but that doesn't detract from the taste.

Typical Bavarian-Munich restaurant for locals. If you want to see and feel how today's Bavarians feel in their own company, what are the current typical Bavarian dishes, this is the perfect place. Very little chance that you will meet tourists here.

Can I recommend Rudi's butcher shop? I'd say it's a good (not the best) alternative if you're hungry and have nothing better to eat. They also have better beer these days (Ajinger). The service is—as it has been for years—grumpy and polite. Anyone you don't know is initially perceived as an 'intruder.'

I've been a regular there for many years and enjoy going there. Bavarian delicacies and other good food are always available. In the summer, the beer garden features beautiful old chestnut trees and plenty of space, as well as a dedicated playground for children. You have to supervise your children at the playground yourself, of course. Reasonable prices and generous portions round out the experience. Note: You can't pay by card there; only cash.

Quiet area, attentive service. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good; the roast potatoes were tasteless. The Cordon Bleu lacked cheese and had too much bacon.

What an experience. I ended up there because it was the only restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. Let’s put it this way: you won’t leave hungry, but you probably won’t feel the urge to come back either. The salad was oddly warm, and the Käsespätzle came with almost raw onions. Come on—it’s 2025, card payment should be a given.

It smelled sooooo delicious, and we didn't have any cash. Card payments weren't accepted. What a shame. Next time we'll come for dinner. Our noses and eyes definitely say 5 stars :)

A traditional Bavarian restaurant (At Butcher Rudi) with a traditional menu. Food was good but service was very slow. We were there two and a half hours and had a main course and a dessert.

Unfortunately the food was of poor quality and the fat dripped from the meat. It was also cold and the last main course came after the first ones had already eaten. Understaffed in service and unfortunately very unfriendly due to the stress. Unfortunately not recommended.

As with so many here: Apparently only interested in regular guests. As a single person, I could not be seated at reserved (empty) tables. The waitress made no effort to accommodate me. They seem to earn enough money.

It was another experience to have dinner with them. kaiser smarni is still world champion.

The best part of the meal was the soup. Burnt fried potatoes that tasted like nothing and the same with the cordon bleu. The waitress only appeared to be willing to talk to the regular customers. The first and last time for me.

We came across this economy by chance and completely without any expectation. We were in Munich for one night and the hotel was just around the corner. And it was really great. It's fresh and home-cooked, it's just rustic home cooking. But very tasty and above all down to earth. The price is also really fair. The service was very nice. All in all really great. Probably an insider tip for Munich conditions.

In addition to delicious food, if you are a fisherman you will get very good tips from Rudi. Let him tell you how he caught the largest pike ever caught in Germany (possibly in Europe) last year. 155cm and 48.9kg. Belated compliment! Only Rudi can do something like that!

Good hhomecooked food for a great price.

Very impolite. No service. No card payment, no other option other than cash payment. No permission to sit inside (even though it was empty). We are not customers either! Overall, a complete failure... The waitress complains that she is alone and can't do it. But there wasn't much going on either. Tourist tip: stay away!

Only German is spoken. Average prices or high compared to Italy. Food in the German average or very low compared to Italy. Cordon blue arrived burnt. No dishes on the menu. They do not accept credit/debit cards. I wouldn't go back.

Very authentic Bavarian restaurant with delicious home-cooked food. We had a B&B hotel nearby and didn't want to travel far to enjoy Bavarian cuisine. Good and cheap portions. 👍

A very hidden restaurant in an allotment garden is completely convincing 👍🤗 Here the chef cooks fresh food and tastes great. Schnitzel is “knocked” and prepared as it should be, like home-made! Very quaint Located a bit out of the way and hidden. At first I thought if there was anything else to come... Closed on Tuesdays! Unfortunately only cash payment possible! The service was a bit stiff at the beginning 😉😊. There were still tables available, I asked where I could sit... A little confused, she said yes where is free...
